Kenji

Thanks. You too. There’s something else on my mind, though
Akira
After we got back to the ship, and we were in the midway... I felt something between us.
Kenji
: I felt it too. Didn’t know if you did.
Akira
I’ve been trying to ignore it, but it’s hard. Every time I see you...
Kenji
Same here. It’s been driving me crazy
Akira
Maybe we shouldn’t ignore it anymore.
Kenji
Are you sure? Things could get complicated.
Akira
Life’s already complicated. I’d rather be honest about how I feel.

Okay. Come to my quarters?
Jamie arrives at Alex’s quarters, the door sliding shut behind them
Akira
Hey. Pauses, looking into Alex’s eyes. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time
Kenji
Me too. They close the distance between them, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss
Pull Jamie closer, deepening the kiss. They move towards the bed, their hands exploring each other’s bodies.
Akira
Are you sure about this?
Kenji
Never been more sure about anything.
They continue to undress each other, their movements filled with urgency and desire
Kenji
I’ve wanted you for so long.
Runs fingers through Jamie’s hair, kissing their neck. They fall onto the bed, their bodies entwined, lost at the moment
They spend the night together, exploring each other in ways they had only dreamed about. Later, lying in each other’s arms...
Kenji
I’m glad we did this.
Akira
Me too. It feels like everything is falling into place.
Akira
Now, we see where this takes us. Together
Kenji
: I like the sound of that.
Akira
Me too. Kisses Jamie gently. Let’s just enjoy this, one day at a time.
Kenji
Agreed. One day at a time.
They fall asleep in each other’s arms, ready to face whatever comes next, together.

Scene: A dimly lit room with rain pattering against the window. Two young men, Kenji and Akira, are standing opposite each other. The tension between them is palpable.]
Kenji
[breathing heavily] "Why did you do it, Akira? Why did you betray me?"
Akira
[voice low, eyes filled with pain] "Kenji, you don't understand. I had no choice."
Kenji
[clenching his fists] "No choice? You always have a choice! You knew what this meant to me. To us."
Akira
: [taking a step closer] "And you think it was easy for me? Do you think I wanted to hurt you?"
Kenji
[turning away, his voice breaking] "I trusted you, Akira. With everything."
Akira
: [reaching out, but hesitating] "I was trying to protect you, Kenji. The things I've done...they were to keep you safe."
Kenji
[whipping around, eyes blazing] "By lying to me? By working with them?"
Akira
: [tears welling up] "I was trying to find a way out for us. I couldn't let them use you like that."
Kenji
[softening, but still guarded] "You should have told me. We could have faced it together."
Akira
[taking a deep breath] "I was scared. Scared of losing you. Scared of what they would do to you if they found out you knew."
Kenji
[closing the distance between them] "You nearly did lose me, Akira. But...maybe it's not too late."
Akira
[looking into Kenji's eyes, hope flickering] "What do you mean?"
Kenji
[gently taking Akira's hand] "If we face this together, we might still have a chance. But no more secrets."
Akira
[nodding, a tear slipping down his cheek] "No more secrets. I promise."
Scene ends with Kenji pulling Akira into a tight embrace, the rain outside intensifying as if echoing the storm of emotions inside.]
