As the sun rises I begin to wake up for my job as a New York Police Detective. I have been working as a detective for 2 years and I have catches a lot of bad guys in my life. Even though the job is hard it is really rewarding in the end. The reason why I wanted to become a detective is that when I was young, I was kidnapped by group of men who wanted me as hostage and there a detective who came to save me and I have never knew the person who save and the reason I wanted to become a detective is to find out who it is and say thank you.

“Oh **** my going to be late!” I muttered. I need to hurry and catch the bus to my work. Being a detective comes with a lots of risk and danger. You need to have the mentality of a strong person and if you don’t you are not going survive this. Many people who have this job usually quits after a couple of months because they couldn’t handle the job. My coworker calls me Ashley. My job usually starts me on my desk and I would look at my emails majority of time and I would some case. Today I have a case about a missing women who has been missing for a couple of week and the parents wants me to find where she is. The outcome of this typed cases is usually poor and sad. But I made a promise to the parents that I’ll have find their daughter.

The first thing I do is to go to her last known location and look at the security cameras. Then I’ll go to the parent and asked them a few questions about what happen, the day that the daughter went missing. After a while I realised the daughter was with her boyfriend and the reason why she ran away is that her parents didn’t prove of the guy do she decided to ran away with him.

As the my shift become to an end I went to a thrift store to check some clothes out and something caught my eyes, well it was an hourglass and it look so prett. The moment I touch the hourglass I felt something powerful and I saw the future that is will be destroyed. The moment I let the hourglass go everything became really dark, my body feels like it had no energy what so every, and my eyes begins to shut completely. I felt as my body was being lifted up by someone, I could barely hear what they say but I could make out a sentence that they were making “this is the girl,” as I begin to fade out, I muttered “this is the girl?”

After a couple hours I begin to wake up and I was in a defensive fight. Then I saw him... why him... he is the worst person that I’ve known, he and I used to date. “Well Ashley I have missed you,” I shuttered. It is not a pleasant to see you Alex. “Why am I here? Well you are the chosen one? What do you mean the “chosen one”, well you were chosen by the hourglass. You and I have the task of saving the world from an unknown force,” he replied. Why must I work with you, out of all people. This is tortured for me to work with you...
