With heavy, hopeless steps I went up to my room and locked the door behind me, falling lifelessly onto the bed letting out a slight sigh asking myself "why is my life so difficult"

knock, knock heaven are you in there it's me Lucy. Whipping away the tears that threatened to fall I walk to the door and opened it and saw my eldest step-sister Lucy still in her work uniform with a bright smile on her face, but as soon as she saw my slightly red eyes her smile slowly faced away replace with a worried look on her face.

Heaven did Mom do something to you again lucy asked with her furious gaze fixed on me

No Lucy I just got a little dust in my eyes that's all no worries I said forcing myself to smile .with her gaze still fixed on me, she said.Do you think you can hide this from me, heaven I thought you considered me to be your biological sister, but I guess I thought wrong" before I could say anything Lucy turned back and started walking to her room with heavy steps

Closing the door I walked back to my bed slowly lying down I closed my eyes and the tears stream down my face like a river I spent almost all night crying my eyes out, and soon I fell asleep

in my dream I saw woman standing near a lake wearing white ,as a walked up to her she turned around and looked at me while smiling brightly and she called my name ,after realizing that it my mother tears streamed down my face as I shouted "mom" running up to her I hugged her tightly scared that she would live me once again . as I hugged her I heard her say "heaven mommy misses you so much " "I also miss you mom please come back to me please mom please I can't leave without you mom, do you know Dad abandoned me as soon as you left me nobody knows where he is ,if you come back he'll surely come back as well and we can leave like a family again please mom come back" I pleased with her while tightly hugging her , looking up at her I saw tears falling down her face and she said "I wish everything could go back to the way it was as well but we can't change our fate , you have to be strong okay you have something that nobody else has you have a really powerful gift given to you by the gods and goddess above make sure you take care of it my dear . just as she finished speaking she slowly started to fade away into the air watching her leave me again broke my heart a thousand times feeling a sharp pain in my chest , everything around me turned black as coal . at that moment I felt alone all alone in this world

 The next morning I woke up with the sharp pain still in my chest it hurt so much I felt like it was my last day on Earth after a few minutes I managed to get up. Without waste more time I got up and went to to the bath took a shower later I come out feeling a bit better with the painin my chest slowly fading away, afterwards I quickly got dressed and went down to the kitchen to prepare breakfast before my stepmother Eve woke up.

upon reaching the kitchen I found Lucy sitting there eating an apple,as I walked further into the kitchen I said good morning to her while preparing to start making breakfast and she replied with an expressionless face

aren't you going to the bakery today I asked I started washing some veggies. and she replied

"No the bakery owner talked us we could take a leave coz some important fellow is coming of today, yeah so I'm staying home for the whole day today"looking up at her with a smile and I said "I guess I'll have some company through out the day today telling from the way she looked at me she was a little bit annoyed smiling slightly I continued with my work.

After finishing up in the kitchen Lucy and I started prepare the food at the dinner table. soon after the food was served , the first to come down were my two step Brothers Cris and David i greeted both of them as usual and they both seat down.at that moment the only people yet to arrive where ivy and my step mother , after a few minutes of waiting ivy and my step mother finally come down after both of them sat down for breakfast Lucy and I did the same as well just like always there was as awkward silence during breakfast I ate my breakfast as quickly as possible and after I finished i stood up as I was about to head back to the kitchen I heard my stepmother Eve say

"Heaven we're having guests later today, so you should make same delicious food okay, I want no mistake okay ohh and make sure you look good okay that's all for now Carry on.

After finishing cleaning up I went up to my room a little dazed and confused.

after rose , Nancy and heaven finished prepare everything for the guests yet to arrive Nancy and rose forced heaven up to her room to prepare herself for the party that evening as soon as heaven entered the room she found a beautiful white dress with blue flower decorations on the chest area and wrists studying the dress more she finally decided to go take a bath and get ready

when I finished taking a bath and came out while drying my hair I saw rose was in the room seeming to be waiting for me as I walked further into the room I started charging into the white beautiful dress and when I was done rose sat me down in front of the mirror and started to apply same making on my face, when she was finally done I stood up and said thank you to her and looked at my reflection in the mirror ,the dress stocked tightly up my upper body and spreed out from my waist going down like a blooming flower ,the necklace and earrings matched the dress . while the make up on my face was simply but still looked really good on me when I was done I turned around and saw rose looking at me as if she was stroke by lightning and " you look gorgeous you truly look like heaven". she said with a bright smile on her face and I couldn't help but smile as well and I asked " since I'm done can I go down now " " madam said she would send someone to call you down so do worry okay " rose replied still smiling warmly at me , she and I sat down and talked for a while then a maid came up and said I was being called by my stepmother to go down now .

checking myself one last time I looked at rose and she nodded at me and giving me a reassuring smile clearly telling me I looked okay taking a deep breath I turned around and walked out of my room telling myself to stay calm at that moment I realized I was nervous , why on each I'm I so nervous ? I thought to myself as I reached the stairs then I heard my stepmother talking to someone I guessed it was the guests that had arrived then I slowly walked down the stairs now feeling a not in my stomach I still didn't know why I had a bad feeling about all this

 As soon as heaven came down her stepmother Eva stood up and walked up to her while smiling leading her into the sitting room where an old man wearing a red high class robe with gold embroidery on the chest area including the wrists and lower part of the robe sitting there looking high and mighty, while a few unfamiliar maids holding gift like jewelry and other expensive items

when I sat down with Eva sitting besides me still smiling looking closely at the man I found him looking at me up and down seeming to be surprised and I quickly lowered my head as not to look at him anymore then I heard the old man say.

"Eva you keep such a beautiful daughter hide away from me while knowing I'm looking for a wife for my grandson that is not fair is it , your daughter here is beautiful simply amazing " the man said smiling sweetly at me , at that moment I was confused looking for a wife for his grandson ? did he maybe mistake me for ivy ? I asked myself looking confusedly at my stepmother and she smiled at me helpless as she turned to the man and said to him

" I'm sorry too say but you might have made a mistake she's my step daughter heaven , ivy my daughter her elder sister hasn't arrived yet" she said this with un awkward smile on her face

"She's actually your stepdaughter , well I must say she's a beautiful and I want her as my granddaughter in law and that is final.the old man said with a Stern look on his face clearly making a unchangeable decision. what is happening, he wants to make me his grandson's wife? I can't accept this looking at my stepmother she looked back at me with a pleading look on her face I immediately stood up and said " I need to do something please excuse me " with that I turned and walked towards the stairs still a bit clueless about what just happened before I could go up the stairs I heard my stepmother call behind "heaven dear I need to talk to you please follow me to my room okay she said walking up the stairs, as she said I followed her up and into her room and she told me to take a sit besides her .

holding both my hands in hers she looked at me with what seemed like concern and worry .

"heaven I know you think I don't like or care about you but believe it or not I do I care about you a lot all the things I have done to you all this time is actually to make you into a strong and humble woman that your father wants you to be I wanted to make you an good person and to do so I have to treat you the way I do I'm sorry dear this is what your father wanted I was just doing what I had to he wanted you to grow up into a beautiful kind hearted woman and marry into a good family that loves , cares and are wealthy so they can take care of you " she said all this as tears fall down her cheeks , seeing this I raised my hand up to wipe away her tears the I heard her say.

" for your father's sake please grant this one wish of his please get married and help me make your father happy , this is his last wish please heaven please" she said as she cried and sobbed more looking pitiful and helpless I couldn't help but hug her while telling her " Mother please don't cry anymore I..
