Chapter 1
The rain pours heavily outside the hospital where I work, accompanied by the strong gusts of cold wind that send shivers down your spine. The thunder rumbles intensely, echoing through the surroundings, while the floodwaters rise outside the hospital premises, creating a chilling and unsettling atmosphere.
The outside of the hospital where I work is frightening as you can't see anything due to the intensity of the wind that passes by as if it has the strength to sweep away anything in its path.
Loud thunderclaps and lightning can be heard outside, especially amidst the heavy downpour of rain and the strong winds, accompanied by the darkness and smoke enveloping the surroundings in the intensity of the rain.
𝑇ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑆𝑚𝑖𝑡ℎ
It's my first day at work today, and only the night shift was available, so I accepted it because I didn't have a choice. I am a working student, working at night and studying at the University during the day.

I was hesitant at first to accept the job because it's quite far from my apartment, and I was considering backing out to look for a job closer to home. However, I was surprised by the high salary offered, so I decided to accept it since the hospital really lacks staff for cleaning duties.
𝑇ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑆𝑚𝑖𝑡ℎ
Earlier when I arrived at Dimitrios Hospital, everything seemed fine. The rain and thunder were not as intense at that time. However, within a few minutes, the rain suddenly intensified, as if the heavens were furious.
𝑇ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑆𝑚𝑖𝑡ℎ
I started my work and approached the reception desk where a nurse was sleeping in front of the computer. I pressed the bell to get her attention.

I pressed the bell several times, but she still didn't notice me. The nurse seemed to be in a deep sleep, and I couldn't clearly see her face as it was covered with a pink scarf.

I was about to press the bell again when she suddenly woke up and greeted me. Her face looked sleepy and tired. As she looked at me, she quickly removed the scarf, revealing a necklace around her neck.

Ummm, hi! You're the new one working the night shift. Here are the rooms assigned to you, the floors you'll be cleaning, and the rules you should follow during the night shift as per the hospital regulations.

Here are the six rules of the hospital:

4. Don't tell anyone that you're working in "Dimitrios Hospital"

Your night shift work will go smoothly as long as you follow the rules.

She handed me a keychain with keys for Room 18 on the second floor, Room 22 on the third floor, and Room A5 on the first floor engraved on the keys.
Nurse
Every day during your night shift, the floors and rooms you will clean, including the hallways, will vary because you will be the only one working during the night shift.

And never forget to follow the rules during the night shift for the sake of everyone's order and safety.

Your night shift will end at 6:40 in the morning when the morning shift staff will arrive to take over.

After introducing myself to the nurse, I quickly boarded the elevator, carrying the cleaning supplies for the 3rd floor that I needed to clean first.

I pressed the button for the 3rd floor firmly, feeling the click as I pressed it, and the elevator started moving.
I felt the elevator going up and down, and then I heard the signal that I had reached the 3rd floor. However, I was surprised when the doors opened on the 6th floor, which made me a bit nervous.

Maybe I just pressed the wrong button earlier because I was preoccupied with so many thoughts.

Chapter 2
It's a good thing that the elevator doors opened on the 3rd floor. I breathed a sigh of relief.
Upon opening the elevator, you will see the entire hallway enveloped in complete silence, with the lights twinkling faintly. I am hesitant to step out of the elevator, but I have no choice but to do so to bring the cleaning supplies. I am not scared, but just by looking at the hallway, I can feel my hair standing on end.

I first leaned my head out of the elevator to peek into every corner before stepping out. There was no one around, which was a bit puzzling. I wondered why all the bulletin boards had no information at all.

I stepped out of the elevator and immediately carried the cleaning supplies I brought with me.

As I strolled through the hallway, pure silence enveloped my soul, with only the sound and feeling of tranquility surrounding me.

I searched for Room 22 as it was the first place I needed to clean.

While walking, I couldn't help but feel my hair stand on end as if many eyes were watching me and unseen presences were observing me.
I couldn't help but look around as I walked, feeling the need to glance around my surroundings.

I immediately found Room 22 and noticed that its door had a different color compared to all the other doors I passed earlier.
I cautiously approached the door and knocked on it twice.

The door slowly creaked open, and I was immediately greeted by a foul stench that I had never encountered before in my life.

I immediately grabbed my face mask and put it on because the intense smell I detected seemed to be turning my stomach upside down.
I cursed in disbelief as I did not expect such a foul and dirty smell inside. The sink was filled with blood, and there were many surgical masks and operation tools stained with blood. It seemed like there were still internal organs decaying in the bag, which probably explained the nauseating smell in the room.
𝑇ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑆𝑚𝑖𝑡ℎ
All I could do was vomit into the paper bag I had brought, which was originally meant for used face masks that were supposed to be disposed of as trash.

"What kind of job did I get into? It's disgusting."
I tried to calm myself down and took all the disinfectant along with wearing gloves to clean up the blood and scattered operation tools for disposal. It seemed like they wouldn't be used again, so I placed them in a bag to wrap and throw into the trash cart I had with me.

I swear to God, I will find a decent job after college🎓.

After cleaning up everything, I turned on the faucet, and a generous flow of water gushed out, washing away the dried blood that seemed to have hardened from not being cleaned for a long time.

While my eyes were fixed on the faucet, I couldn't believe it when I suddenly caught sight of a decaying finger under the sink. I immediately screamed loudly in shock.

I covered my mouth in shock when I suddenly heard three knocks from inside the confirmed wall beside the large trash bins.

I felt like fainting from fear, but I forced myself to stay calm. I reached for a zip hook to grab the finger, placed it in a plastic bag, and immediately disposed of it.
I quickly cleaned the sink and the floor with drying blood, gathered the injection pills, tissues with bloodstains, and decaying teeth. I was puzzled as to why the teeth were there on the floor. Suddenly, I heard three knocks again from the confirmed wall.

I approached the wall and heard a scratching sound on the other side, like long nails that I couldn't comprehend.

As I brought my ear closer, I was startled by a cold gust of wind that entered my ear, causing the hairs on my neck to stand on end.
I immediately felt a chill of fear and disgust at what I had witnessed. I wanted to scream and ask for help to leave, but it was also embarrassing to disturb the sleeping patients.
𝑇ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑆𝑚𝑖𝑡ℎ
I focused all my attention on what I was cleaning and ignored everything I heard and saw. However, fate had other plans as the box of injection pills fell under the table, which surprised me again because it seemed impossible for it to fall since it was placed in the middle.

I stared at the box carefully and thought that maybe I didn't place it properly. So, I took it and put it in the trash cart.

But as I was about to turn around to turn off the faucet, I suddenly remembered that I had already placed the box of injection pills inside the cart earlier. So, how did it end up on the table and fall by itself?

My knees started trembling, as if they were urging me to move because of the fear that enveloped the entire Room.

Before I completely passed out, I quickly moved and turned off the faucet in the sink. Upon seeing that the entire Room 22 on the 3rd floor was clean, I immediately left the room and hurriedly ran to the elevator.
