Taehyung was born into a life of silk-lined nightmares, where money masked the stench of rot. The only heir of the Kim family. he was expected to be a well-mannered prince, and is the jewel of high society. But Taehyung never wanted their golden cage. He wanted Freedom. A way out.
He didn’t shatter his world in one violent crash. No, he took it apart piece by piece, until taehyung could no longer tell where him ended and he began.
Kim Taehyung
Under his hands, under his gaze, I am nothing of my own. I am something he carved, something he claimed.
And the worst part? The part that makes him sick, that makes his stomach twist in something far too dangerous?
Kim Taehyung
𝗔 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝗺 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝘀.
Jeon Jungkook was never given a choice. At nine, he was already holding a gun. People called him a monster, a villain, a devil in a suit. They were right. But they never understood that villains are made. And since , His heart had never known warmth, never faltered and never beat for anyone.
Jeon Jungkook
My ruin wrapped in silk and fire.
Every glare, every insult, every act of defiance only tightened the noose around his pretty throat. He didn’t know it yet, that he was made for this devil.
Jeon Jungkook
He calls me his enemy. And I call him mine.
Jungkook like it when he fight. But in the end, he will break. He knows , cause they always do.
Jeon Jungkook
And when he finally does, when his voice cracks as he says my name the way I want, 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁.

Dr Lee Jong suk
You have only nine years left to live.
Doctor Lee said, looking at the man who was seated opposite him. There was no sign of emotion in his eyes. He was completely blank as he stared at the doctor's eyes.
Kim Taehyung
That's all ?
(He asked in his deep voice)
Dr Lee Jong suk
There is a solution.
(he said solemnly)
Dr Lee Jong suk
If we proceed with a heart transplant, there's a chance you could live, but it's not guaranteed. There's only a 40% probability of success.
Dr. Lee nodded as he relayed the information to the young man, who sat nonchalantly. There was a moment of silence before the man spoke,
Kim Taehyung
Just the medicines are enough!
Dr. Lee nodded as he prescribed the medicines.
Dr Lee Jong suk
We will continue our therapy sessions, and along with the medication regimen. If you experience any slight pressure or discomfort, don't hesitate to inform us immediately.
(he advised earnestly.)
Kim Taehyung
Got it, Doctor. I'll look after myself .
(he replied casually, flashing a quick smile at the doctor.)
Taehyung announced upon entering his house. He headed straight to the kitchen, opening the refrigerator to grab a water bottle.
He glanced out of the corner of his eye and noticed his mother seated on the couch, engrossed in a magazine.
His mother asked coldly, without looking at him.
Kim Taehyung
I was at the library.
Taehyung replied casually, not bothered by his mother's coldness .
Kim Hyeko
Hmm. Don't hang out so much. (she said firmly.)
Taehyung murmured a small "yes" and walked upstairs to his room.
Tae released an exhausted sigh as he flopped onto his bed.His mind started processing everything that had happened today.
Kim Taehyung was the son of the famous business tycoon Kim Sunghoon and the actress Kim Hyeko, two of the most renowned influential persons In Korea. In front of the camera, they acted as a loving couple, the best parents, and the perfect family. But behind the scenes, they were strangers.
But over the last 10 years, they had been living separately . His father remained in Korea, while his mother, Hyeko, moved to New York with him and started a new life here. Besides being an actress, she was also a talented designer, so she launched her own brand, which quickly became a success.
Both Sunghoon and Hyeko would meet at events and parties, continuing to present themselves as a lovely couple. But in reality, they were nowhere near the love they displayed.
As their love for each other seemed distant, so did their love for their son. Sunghoon kept himself busy. He often visited Taehyung for lunch or dinner, but the distance and awkwardness between them were genuine. Living with his own mother in the same house felt so different.
A tear slipped from his eye,
Kim Taehyung
I was always raised to meet their expectations...
Kim Taehyung
My father and mother were always so competitive. They would constantly compete with each other, always wanting me to follow their decisions as they please.
Kim Taehyung
Not once did they ask me what I wanted to become, who I wanted to be, or what my favorite things were...(he thought bitterly.)
Kim Taehyung
They don't even know my basic preferences. I always followed their decisions without caring about my own desires. I always put them first, always followed their lead...
His mind flashed with scenes of his father and mother shouting at each other about his college course. His father wanted him to become a businessman, while his mother wanted him to be a great designer. The memories were still vivid and fresh in his mind. In the end, Taehyung chose to study business and applied for an online course for studying design.
Kim Taehyung
Now it's only nine more years...
Kim Taehyung
They'll only compete for nine more years. I just have to make them happy for nine more years...
Kim Taehyung
Just nine years...!
He remembered fainting in the library today and being taken to the hospital, where he came to know he was diagnosed with the last level of stage 3 cardiac sarcoma (heart cancer). It isn't curable at this stage. Only a heart transplant is possible, but the success rate is very low.
Kim Taehyung
When I'm no longer here , maybe I'll be happy I guess !
He no longer wished to burden his parents. these years of living by their decisions had been enough. He no longer desired to follow in their footsteps.
Kim Taehyung
But can I?
(he questioned, unsure if he had the strength to break away from their control.)

The next morning, Taehyung walked in his robe, inspecting his wardrobe. It was meticulously arranged by his mother, tailored to her preferences. As a fashion stylist, she ensured even the house wear was top-notch. Every piece of clothing was arranged to perfection, color-coordinated and flawlessly paired.
He casually selected a dress, threw it on, and made his way downstairs.Even though everything was perfect, Taehyung felt trapped without the freedom to choose for himself.
Taehyung descended the stairs and spotted his mom at the dining table, gracefully reading the newspaper and sipping coffee. Her elegance infused every action, her movements slow and mesmerizingly beautiful.
Kim Taehyung
Good morning, Mum!
Taehyung greeted with a warm smile. Despite feeling distant from his mother, he couldn't help but feel grateful for her. She had raised him, provided for him, and brought him up with careful attention to details.
She glanced up from her papers, her brows furrowing as she assessed Taehyung's attire. Despite her initial concern, she nodded in approval at what he wore. She couldn't help but feel a swell of pride at the sight of her son. Taehyung was undeniably handsome, with features that could easily grace the covers of magazines.
From his perfectly proportioned face to his impeccably styled appearance, he radiated an aura of attractiveness. Every aspect of him seemed meticulously crafted, like a work of art. She couldn't help but marvel at his godly good looks, feeling grateful to have him as her son.
Tae nodded as he took a seat at the opposite end of the rectangular table, facing his mother. Soon, a lady in her mid-50s approached and placed their breakfast in front of them. She gave Taehyung a warm, hearty smile and wished him a good morning before retreating to the kitchen. She had been Taehyung's caretaker since he was 10 years old and had moved with them to New York. To him, she was like a second mother....kind, caring, and always there for him. She was a good, sweet lady whom Taehyung deeply appreciated.
Kim Hyeko
Are you going somewhere?
She asked, folding the newspapers and setting them aside before taking a few bites of her breakfast. She glanced over at Tae, who sat with perfect posture, eating elegantly and slowly, just like she had taught him.
Tae nodded after swallowing his juice and replied,
Kim Taehyung
Yes, I have some books to get. I'm going to the library.
His voice was calm and composed, betraying no hint of the internal turmoil he often felt.
Kim Hyeko
Hmm... (she hummed, a hint of irritation in her voice.)
Kim Hyeko
Don't always be stuck in those business books. Make sure to organize your time to read some designer books, browse new fashion sites, and create some designs. Don't get too caught up in all that nerdy business stuff.
Despite the calmness in her tone, her eyes betrayed a hint of irritation. She maintained her composure elegantly, just like Taehyung, as he listened to his mother's words.
Kim Taehyung
I will, Mum. (he replied politely, maintaining his decorum.)
His mother announced firmly.
Kim Hyeko
I have arranged a model shoot for a brand. It's in two weeks. Get yourselves ready.
Her tone was commanding, leaving no room for opposition. Taehyung sighed, looking down at his breakfast. It isn't appetizing anymore ..
But he continued eating, maintaining his composed facade despite the discomfort gnawing at him. Inside, his heart clenched and his stomach churned uncomfortably. He muttered a small "thanks," grabbed his bag, and headed outside.
♡︎
The first few chapters might be boring .. But yeah it's needed.

As he entered the library, he exchanged greetings with the receptionist, the chief librarian, and the workers along the way. This wasn't a new place for him instead, it was his sanctuary.
Taehyung settled into his usual spot, tucked away in the corner, far from the peoples. It was just him, a book, a cup of coffee he grabbed on the way, the gentle breeze drifting in from outside.
Kim Taehyung
Indeed, a heaven!
Taehyung murmured to himself, savoring the peaceful ambiance of the library corner.
Kim Taehyung
My mom thinks I'm always stuck in business books, but that's not true.
For Taehyung, this place was his safe haven where he could enjoy his favorite books without any worries. It was like his little secret spot. His mom didn't like him reading romantic stuff, and In this instance, both his mother and, surprisingly, his father shared the same view. They believed that, at his age, love was irrelevant. Instead, they emphasized the importance of focusing on oneself.
Kim Taehyung
I'm 20 now... and I've never held hands or even looked at anyone.I feel so awkward and nervous about these things.
Kim Taehyung
Even though I am a fool for this thing called love, I'm not sure whether I'll experience the love like in books or if I'll die single.
Taehyung shifted his attention to the pages. Lost in his own world, he didn't notice his coffee growing cold or how many hours had passed.
Many people passed by him ...workers, patrons getting book .but he remained seated in the same position. It was the bell that brought him back to reality. He looked at his watch. It was 9:00 at night. Moving his legs a bit, he realized they were numb. He tapped his feet on the floor to shake off the numbness, stretched his arms, and twisted his waist.
Only one page remained. He read it, then closed the book. He glanced at the half-finished coffee cup from the morning and noticed it was getting chilly outside. Standing up, he closed the window and walked downstairs, dumping the coffee in the bin on his way.
He returned his book to the receptionist.
"How are you? Are you okay right now?"
she asked, concerned. She was one of the people who had helped Taehyung get to the hospital yesterday.
Kim Taehyung
Yes, I'm alright, and thank you for yesterday. I was just a little anemic
(he said, lying about the last part.)
"Hmm. Take care of yourself,"
she said, passing a smile. Taehyung nodded in understanding and left.
As Taehyung strolled through the bustling streets, Taehyung reflected on the book he had read today. Despite the numerous hurdles, the love between the characters remained strong. In the end, they achieved their happily ever after.
He looked up at the sky, but it was foggy and filled with city lights. He couldn't remember the last time he saw stars. Still, he looked up with hope, wishing for the day when he could see them again.
Kim Taehyung
Will I ever have my happily ever after?
