"We had fun didn't we?", Miae softly said, her head hanging low as Yeonjun, her friend watched her with a backpack full of clothes hanging on one side of his shoulder. He was nicely dressed, a navy blue polo shirt with beige colored pants, his hair was nicely slicked back too which made him feel more adult like though his adorable baby face and his fox like eyes says otherwise.

It was just another day in Seoul, the sun was up and warm, and the wind was blowing lightly through the open window of Yeonjun's empty bedroom, although it was strong enough to move apart the fringes covering Miae's forehead. The little girl in her hello kitty shirt pressed her lips together, her face was turning red as tears start forming from her big round eyes.

"Are you crying?" Yeonjun spoke, smiling though he, too couldn't hide the sadness in his face. "Well i wouldn't be surprise, i was one good heck of friend wasn't I?" he added trying to light up the mood between them.

He noticed how Miae wasn't able to lift her head up to spare him a glance, he gently yet awkwardly pat her head making her feel even more emotional than before. She wiped the tears forming in her eyes quickly, "Don't ignore my texts and calls, you better quickly reply and answer them" she ordered which makes him chuckle a bit as he nods. He wanted to look like a mature man, despite his young age. "Are you sure you know how to even text? I won't be able to understand baby language you know.", he once again joked making Miae nudge him slightly.

A car horn honked twice outside signalling the two of them to go out, it's time. The two kids looked at each other and walked outside to the rest of the friends and family, a grey family car with the backseat open was waiting for Yeonjun to get in. He looked at everyone once more, and got in the car, sliding down the window as the engine start. "Bye everyone, I'll go now" he waved smiling as the car left and just like that, he was out of sight.

Yes, it was just another sunny day in Seoul, but one where the boy next door left to study abroad. Though as they say, time sure does fly and quite fast, and little Miae is already all grown up. She now is a high school student already, one who had just started her summer vacation. She is determined to enjoy the most of her summer break and her youth,unaware that her childhood friend, the little boy next door has also back come home.

The start of summer break felt like pure joy to Miae, almost as if the birds chirping were more like sounds of beautiful songs, the sun always shinning brightly, enlightening her room, and the cool breeze was blowing her mom's flower's aroma inside her room which smells wonderful. She left like she was starring in a Jannabi music video, they are her favorite band after all. She could hear distant chattering outside which piqued her interest, she slid her feet in her flops and ran down the stair of her house to the kitchen where she looked out the window and saw her parents with two other people. However, she didn't put on her glasses, so she couldn't see the other two stranger's faces clearly and but she was too shy to walk outside.

As she was already in the kitchen Miae opened the fridge, not that she was hungry, but she just felt like having a light snack, but was disappointed to find nothing that she like. She closed the fridge and drank a cup of water for the sake of having something and walked back up to her room.

She noticed her phone ringing on her bed, it was one of her friend from school, Choi Beomgyu. She swiped up her phone and answered the call, "What's up--"

"Kang Taehyun broke his arm!!" Beomgyu shrieked, his voice was loud as always.

"What?? What happened? When? Is he okay now?", Miae was surprised to find her other good friend breaking his arm.

"Yesterday he went out to skate by himself, that idiot I told him to wait for me but his impatient ass went ahead! Anyway, I am going to his house today with Soobin and Huening, do you want to join?" Beomgyu explained and asked, from the sound of his voice he seemed to be quite worried of Taehyun.

"Of course, I'll join, at what time?"

"Around 12, I'll come get you. Oh, by the way I heard he's back." Beomgyu said changing topics which Miae had no idea what he was talking about. "Back? Who's back?", she asked as she looked outside from her window as the chattering from outside was getting louder.

"Who eIse would i be saying idiot, Choi Yeonjun." as soon as Beomgyu said Yeonjun's name Miae's eyes widened as she too had just seen him from her window. Yes she wasn't wearing her glasses but for some reason she can tell that the guy standing in the distance next to her parents is the Choi Yeonjun.

"Gyu I'm hanging up", Miae said pressing the red button on her phone without batting an eye, her eyes though were unable to leave the tall figure standing politely next to her mom's pots of flowers. He was so much taller now, taller than her father and his face looked...blurry? Miae hurriedly grabbed her glasses which was on her study table, abruptly put it on and went back to her window.

Choi Yeonjun, he had grown up to be such a handsome young man. He is definitely on the lean side, his frame and figure have changed so much but his eyes were the same to Miae. As she was intently looking at Yeonjun, Miae's mom noticed her from below, "Miae, come down here!", her mom shouted making Miae flinched a bit.

"O-okay" she shouts back before glancing at Yeonjun once more, however the lad was already looking at her and their eyes met causing Miae to fall back on the ground. She was surprised to see him already looking at her, her butt hurts from the fall but her hands were on her chest, feeling her heartbeat.

"that scared me..."

My mom's flowers are the prettiest!! Currently playing Summer by Jannabi as I am writing this :3 Can't wait to enjoy this year's summer break to the fullest!!!

"Look at you, you have grown so much taller now!" Yeonjun's mom Mrs. Lee cheered as soon as she saw Miae.

"Really? T-thank you!" Miae bowed and thanked her politely as she stood really close to her mother, despite her bubbly self, she tends to be very awkward when meeting new people or just people in general, expect for her friends of course.

Miae glanced at Yeonjun and now that she can see him even clearer she was awed by how handsome and tall he was, but she quickly averted her eyes when Yeonjun looks at her.

"Miae why are you just standing here? Say hi to Yeonjun" Miae's mother said with a controlled smile pushing Miae slightly, making Miae feel even more overwhelmed. She awkwardly laughed and look up at Yeonjun,

"How have you been…?", Miae said as she cleared her throat. She was indeed a very awkward person but she thought that after chatting a bit maybe they could be good friends again.

"Good" Yeonjun gave a short and simple reply not saying or asking her anything in return, which made Miae smile through the pain, the pain of the dealing with an ignorant teenager (possibly? still)going through puberty. The surrounding adults were also dumbstruck with how awkward things were between the two supposedly friends are.

"Should we have dinner together sometime? To celebrate Yeonjun's return", Miae's mother suggested which Mrs. Lee was more than happy to hear. Then the two family separated to their houses for the time being.

"I'm telling you!! It was like he's a different person! His voice sounds different, he grew so much taller- I think he's taller than you too! But seriously was it that difficult to just say back 'I'm good, how are you?', he just had to make things sooo much more awkward". Miae exclaimed her frustrating experience to Beomgyu, mimicking how Yeonjun behaved earlier. The two were on their way to Taehyun's house.

"I mean it's a given that he would change but damn he's taller than me?? Did he suddenly have a growth spurt?? Tell me is he more handsome than me?" Miae looked at Beomgyu in disbelief, before she smacked the back of his head.

"That's what's troubling you?? Help me out here!! My parents are going to invite them over for dinner this Friday!! Aaahh what should I do?? I don't want to meet him".

"Don't want to meet him? I thought you guys would be inseparable". Beomgyu said knocking the front door of Taehyun's house.

The door opened was opened by Taehyun who apparently have a white cast on his left arm.

"You look great". Miae joked making Taehyun roll his eyes as he moved aside so that the two can come in.

"I thought you would bring Yeonjun along too?" Taehyun asked Miae, "Why would I bother?" she crankily answered him as she walked to the sitting room, where Soobin and Huening were playing games. "Did i ask something wrong?" Taehyun asked Beomgyu confused to which Beomgyu just shrugged joining the crew.

"Ah! Let me draw words of wisdom on your cast", Huening Kai said taking out a black marker and stood next to Taehyun, giving him a puppy eye. Taehyun sighed but eventually let him draw on his cast. After writing something on Taehyun's cast, Huening hurriedly ran away hiding behind Soobin with a mischievous smile plastered on his face which made the rest of them curious. Taehyun eyes widened as soon as he saw the word 'loser' written on his arm cast, "Huening you son of a-"

Date : 28th July 20XX

Dear diary, today was one heck of a day, I reunited with a childhood friend of mine. At first, I was quite excited but then it turns out he was a guy whose tongue has been taken away by a cat!! He almost ruined my day!

Anyway apparently Taehyun broke his arm while skating yesterday and today the gang went to visit him, Huening actually wrote the word 'loser' on his cast and Taehyun ran after him for almost two whole hours! It was very funny though. I felt bad for him, so I picked up a red marker and wrote 'V' on the 's' part of the 'loser' like the one from the movie 'IT'!
