A narrow beam of light managed to get through my red curtains giving the room a reddish hue as I rolled in my bed, adjusting my body. It's been a long night and I never thought I would be able to fall asleep that quickly without the help of medication. I smiled, sitting up and feeling a tad bit refreshed.

I stood up, stumbling a little because of the dizziness and waited for my eyes to adjust to the brightness when I entered the corridor. I guess my eyes still wasn't adjusted because I bounced into Nibia, my best friend, making her almost fall but I caught her. Her waist was so small that I thought I was hurting her with every adjustment.

" Are you alright" I asked.

“ Yeah, thanks”

I swear for a moment I saw her look at my lips but that can be my eyes playing tricks on me.

She was so close that I could smell her perfume, a gentle cherry blossom smell that pulls me in and before I knew it , I was three cm away from her.

Nibia ran her hand through my hair, probably feeling some knots before pulling me closer to her and kissing me.

It was a hungry kiss that made me crave more but unfortunately that didn't happen.

I looked at her lovingly, hoping that she felt the same way I felt about her.

“ Was that ok?” She asked, not picking up on the hints I left to show I enjoyed it.

I smiled, pulling her into a kiss and ran my hand along her thighs. She wrapped her arms around my neck and didn't let go until I had finished kissing her.

“ Wait a minute, this is just a dream isn't it?” I questioned remembering that I changed my curtains yesterday and did in fact take some pills to help with the insomnia.

“Wow, what a way to spoil the moment,” Nibia said.

“ I guess I have no choice” Nibia announced sadly before grabbing my face and continuing, “ You have to wake up!”

I jolted up from my bed, and saw Nibia sleeping next to me curled up in a ball. It has been freezing since the a.c. was on and I realised that I had taken most of the cover. Feeling bad for her, I placed the sheet over her, covering her completely before going into the kitchen. I made a quick turn to the right to see my mom, Zexia, making what seemed to be a pie and told her good morning, opening the fridge to see what it had to eat.

“ Morning hon, would you like some pie when it's done?”

I looked down at what is supposed to be a pie and quickly said, “ No thanks, I'm good”

I looked around realising that dad wasn't here and questioned, “ Where is Dad?”

“ He went to get some milk for the peanut punch,” Mom replied, placing the pie in the oven.

“ Wait, I wanted some chocolate from the grocery store” I said quickly calling dad's phone.

“ Morning Nia, what's up?”

“ Can you buy me some chocolate while you're at the grocery?” I asked and before dad can even answer I heard a loud sound from his end of the line.

“ Can you turn on the Tv for me please?” Mom asked distracting me.

“ Sure” I answered worried that something might've happened to him, quickly grabbed up the Tv remote and  put on the Tv so I can go back to my call but that is when I hear, “ There has just been an accident on Bolevard road leading to the Givon Grocery store involving a red truck and a garbage truck”

I dropped the phone upon seeing the pictures of the accident and said, “ Mom, that's dad's truck"
