Chapter 1

Before reading this story, you need to have watched/read "Attack On Titan" to have an idea about the whole plot.
While this story is set in the same universe, there are tweaks in the plot. So, please do not expect the story to be entirely same.

Armin Arlert
Captain! [He taps his bawled fist upon his chest saluting the person walking towards him.]
Levi Ackerman
Armin, why are you here?
He says lightly touching Armin's shoulder, and looking towards the closed door of one particular room.
Armin Arlert
I was here to talk to commander Hange about Eren.
Armin Arlert
Is there something wrong? [He followed his gaze towards the shut door.]
Levi Ackerman
Most certainly. [He started walking towards the door and paused right in front of it.]
Armin just stared at him in confusion, not getting whatever was going on. As he heard footsteps coming towards them, his head jolted towards the direction.
Armin Arlert
Jean, Connie?!
He looked at them standing there, look of worry washed over their faces.
Jean Kristien
Armin we need to— [he cut his own sentence off when he noticed Levi]
Jean Kristien
Captain what are you doing here?! [He asks almost seeming surprised]
Connie Springer
Captain Levi do you know what's even going on out there?! [He yelled in a concerned tone as he kept glancing at his back]
Levi was still standing there, his back facing them.
Levi Ackerman
I'm aware. [His hands clenched into fists]
Armin Arlert
[He looked at all of their faces in confusion] Jean, tell me what's going on?!
Jean Kristien
[He let out a long sigh before speaking]
Jean Kristien
Commander-in-chief Dhalis Zachary was killed.
Armin Arlert
What....? [His eyes widened in shock upon hearing the sentence]
Connie Springer
We're doomed if those guys lock us up!
Armin Arlert
"Those guys"?
Connie Springer
Those little shits who are with Eren!
While they were speaking, Levi shoved his arm up making them stop talking. Soon enough, the door in front of which Levi stood for a while now, finally creaked open.
All of theirs eyes were now darted towards the person stepping out.
It was Lance Corporal Julie, who as soon as she stepped out was grabbed by her collars.
Armin Arlert
Captain! what are you doing?!
Levi's cold gaze pierced right through her hazel eyes, which seemed as indifferent as ever.
His eyes didn't express much, to others that is. Julie on the other hand could read them right away. The eyes which screamed the agony of a betrayel.
Levi Ackerman
Did you plan all this? [His hands were still gripping on her collars tightly]
Julie Zoë
And if I did? [She tilted her head, glancing back at the rest three before shifting her eyes back to Levi]
Levi Ackerman
Julie, do 𝙣𝙤𝙩 test me. [his grip tightened]
Hange walked from inside the room too, as she caught his hand to loosen his grip from Julie's collar. Eventually he pulled his hand back.
The girl jolted awake, her heart pounding against her ribcage like a caged bird desperate for freedom. Beads of sweat dotted her forehead as she tried to shake off the remnants of the nightmare that still clung to her mind like cobwebs.
Closing her eyes, she tried to banish the haunting images of twisted trees and winding pathways that seemed to lead nowhere.
With a shudder, she threw back the covers and stumbled out of bed, determined to shake off the lingering fear that threatened to consume her.
Chapter 2
Some time still remained until the crack of dawn, as Julie wore her uniform and headed towards the canteen for having a cup of tea.
She took a seat near the window, where she could clearly see the district of Stohess, still covered in the early morning darkness due to the wall.
She sipped on her tea, when she heard someone come in. She turned her head towards the door and saw Levi standing there.
Levi Ackerman
What are you doing here?
Julie Zoë
Drinking....tea I suppose? [She said lifting the cup]
Levi Ackerman
[He blinks and took a seat parallel to hers]
Levi Ackerman
It's still early.
Julie Zoë
Yeah well, I had some weird dream so couldn't bother going to sleep again. [She said sipping on her tea]
Levi Ackerman
[He blankly stared at her, then her cup, and then her again]
Julie Zoë
What? Do you want some?
She asks stretching her hand to offer him tea from her cup.
Levi Ackerman
Tch, I don't want your filthy saliva in my mouth. [He rested his arm on the seat and leaned back]
Julie Zoë
[She rolled her eyes as she continued with the drinking]
She parted her lips to say something again, but stopped without saying anything.
Levi Ackerman
Just speak already.
Julie Zoë
[She placed the cup down and clasped her fingers together]
Julie Zoë
You wouldn't be willing to tell me what I'm about to ask anyway, so it doesn't matter.
Levi Ackerman
As long as it's not about what we found in the basement.
Julie Zoë
Bull's eye. [She snickers]
Levi Ackerman
It's probably the hundredth time you've asked this to me ever since we came back.
Julie Zoë
But, you're well aware of the fact that how desperate I am, right?! [She suddenly grasped his hand and looked at him with her twinkling eyes]
Levi stared at her for some time, his sharp gaze never leaving her. But soon he retreated his hand from hers.
Levi Ackerman
Rules are rules. [He said standing up]
Julie Zoë
I could've just asked Hange, but I haven't met her at all since y'all came back.
He glanced back at Julie who was still looking at him with a sulking look. He sighed and turned his back at her.
Levi Ackerman
It'll be disclosed soon to the public.
Julie jumped in happiness at his statement.
Julie Zoë
Hah, you do melt at my cuteness. [She hit his shoulder playfully with a teasing smirk]
Levi Ackerman
Tch. [He looked away and walked out of the canteen]
She watched him walk out, as she stared back outside the window. The sun was now up, she stretched her hand in front of her face.
Julie Zoë
