Introduction
My life has been shitty for as long as I can remember, so I'm not going to bore you with the details
But I suppose I'll have to lay out for you exactly what led up to this particular moment in time where I'm currently at the mercy of my worst enemy

I was born to a wealthy family in New York
We were Italian by descent
Which of course meant we were Mafioso
My old man, Richard Letos.
He runs the show and owns it.

His second wife, Missy Letos.

Their kid, my sister Nicki.

I was never the favourite child.
In the sense that I didn't look like my father or my biological mother
And if you're thinking-
Oh, so his mom is dead, and Missy is probably a bitch who- blah blah blah, you're wrong
My mom was one of the greatest actresses the world had ever known.
She died of cancer in her forties
According to my dad she gave birth when she was thirty five
And two years after she got cancer
So in a way my dad blames me.
So when the cancer was confirmed he sent me away.
I lived in a different home and knew nothing, till the day my mom died and dear papa came to pick me
So her death depressed him
Why would I be depressed?
After she died, my dad's best friend made her move and got married to him a year after.
And Nicki came into the picture as well.
With my mom always traveling and acting, she only met my dad like twice a month.
I was born when she was on tour and I looked nothing like either of them.
But for some reason my DNA matched with my mom.
Which is the only reason I wasn't thrown from a window.
So my dad is of the opinion my mom cheated on him.
And now I'm paying for her sins.
My dad is disgusted by the sight of me.
Missy sees me as a servant really.
Nicki...I don't know the fuck is wrong with that bitch.
But that's a basic run down of my early life.
We haven't even gotten to high school yet 😏

Many people tried to be friends with me because of my background, so I really shunned them all and became something of a recluse.

Silence class, the lesson is beginning.
I rolled my eyes. These kids were joking.
The Roof
I didn't like eating much back then.
My father was a dangerous man with dangerous enemies.
So he often found his food poisoned.
It came to a point he couldn't even order.
He could only eat if Missy or himself made the food.
I grew up with this voice nagging me, telling me I could also be poisoned.
It made me have a sort of fear for food.
So I never ate lunch in high school.
After class I was heading to the library, when someone grabbed my hand.

But you have to eat lunch with us, remember?

Evie released my hand but glared at me like I was in the wrong.

Kai and Evie burst into laughter while Vivian rolled her eyes.

Evie mimicked my earlier statement.

They grabbed their bags and went up the fire escape.
I was pretty sure it was meant to be locked and out of bounds, but somehow Evie had the keys.
We ended up on the school roof.
There were seats that looked well used, a small canopy in case it was too hot, and an ice chest, with a large rug on the concrete floor.

We asked the janitor for a favor.
We made ourselves comfortable on the rug and Evie passed around water from the cooler.
