He breathes in the cool breeze as he stares intently at the vast blue spread in all directions.
The orangey sun is slowly setting down casting a beautiful painting on the sea water.
The serene moment is disturbed by the sudden rocking of the ship.
Ricardo finds himself losing balance. He instantly grabbed onto the rails for his dear life.
The robust wind seizes this chance and blows away his hat with it.
Ricardo leaps to capture his hat but the wind being mischievous blows it toward the sea.
Without a second's hesitation, he jumps to grab it.
Dancing hand in hand with the strong sea breeze, his lips curve up in a smile.
He grabs the hat holding onto it tightly.
He made contact with the cold water.
Someone fell into the sea. A man shouts and in a few second a rope is thrown for him.
Ricardo can feel his senses dulling. Everything become soothing and surprisingly quiet.
Ricardo can hear a faint voice.
Someone is calling out his name and he can tell who he is!
Rio
You better get out of the water this instant.
Rio
Or else I will come down and it will be anything but pleasant.
Ricardo can sense both concern and anger in his voice.
Not wasting a second, he swims up and starts gasping for air like a fish.
He looks up and flashes his brother a toothy grin.
Rio
You want me to break your teeth. *glares*
Rogerio heaves a sigh crossing his arms over his chest.
Rio
This boy seriously- *shakes head*
Rio
-is gonna be the death of me one day.

Ricardo slowly climbs up clenching his hat between his teeth.
Rio
Jesus, you brainless idiota!
Ricardo grasps his hand and Rogerio pulls him up.
Rio
For Jesus's sake, stop being so reckless. *scolds*
Ricardo puts his hat inside his shirt and takes off his wet coat.
Rio
Are you even listening?
Rick
Yes, brother. I am! *starts pulling things from his pocket*
Rick
Good, nothing is missing.
Ricardo looks up as his brother has gone quiet.
Ricardo asks bewildered as it is unusual for his brother to stop his scolding that early.
Rio
I wanna punch you so badly.
Rick
*chuckles* What are you waiting for?
Rick
You don't need to ask. *smiles*

That's what I hate the most about you.
Rick
You hate a lot of things about me.

You moron! *balled hands into fists*

Can you spend a single day without worrying me?

Please forgive me. *gives a cheeky smile*

Look! * howls like a wolf*

And look I got the hat.
He grins like a child showing his prized possession. Well, that was not less than that for him.
It was the last gift he had from his mother which he treasures a lot.
Rick
Just think of it as me taking a cold shower.
Rio
Only you can think of taking a cold shower in this bone-chilling winter.
Rick
There's no harm in trying new things. *grins*

You still have doubts? *raises one brow*
Rio
Arguing with you is like hitting your head on the wall. *grumbles*
Rick
But you still do it. *retorts*

You like to have another swim? *arches one brow*
A chill runs down his spine as he trembles in the cold weather.
Rio drapes his coat on Ricardo's shoulder.
Rio
Go take a warm shower and come into the dining area within ten minutes.
Rick
But that's too short. *argues*

You only have nine and a half minutes left.
Ricardo tries to negotiate but Rogerio cuts him out.
Rio smiles as Rico dashes away creating a watery mess.
Rio
That boy is so careless.
Rio
I don't know what to do with him.
Ricardo's voice came from a distance.
Ricardo glances at his brother grinning before turning at the corner.
Rio stays there with an amusing look on his face.

Rick lets himself into the dining area. His father, Rio, and other people were already present there.
Rick takes the empty chair beside Rio.
Jose
Man, how I wish I could take a swim too.
Rick
You want me to throw you. *smirks*
Jose
Nah! *shakes his head*
Jose
You know I won't last a minute. *laughs*
Josh stands up, raising his glass. He clears his throat before speaking.
Jose
A toast for my dear friend for falling into the sea for the twentieth time.
Rick
Hey, I didn't fall. *complains pouting*
Everyone present there burst out laughing.
Jose
Alright, alright. *raises hand in surrender*
Jose
You didn't fall. Happy? *smiles*
Rick
Now it totally looks like I fell. *retorts*
Antonio
Hey, don't tease my poor child.
Rick exclaims smiling his eyes gleaming.
Rio
Yeah, no human can be that dumb to fall and that for twenty times. *looks at Rick*
Rick glances at Rio giving him a tight-lipped smile.
Rio
Now, now. Don't hold back, my dear brother. *smirks*
Rio
I can tell you have a nice reply to that.
Rick
*sighs* Feel free to say whatever you want.
Rio
You aren't sick, are you?
Rio puts his hand on Rick's forehead, concerned.
Rio
No, you are fine. *furrows his brows*
Rio
Am I dreaming? *pinches Rick's cheek*
Rick
Hey, it hurts! *groans*
Rick
Why are you pinching me?
Rio
Why aren't you talking back?
Rick
What do you take me as? *grunts*
Rio replies firmly locking gaze with him.
Rick bursts out laughing.
Rick
I am alright. *smiles*
Rick
Just a little tired I guess.
They all finished their food and got back to their work.
Rick was out on the deck looking at the night sky.
It was a night with no moon yet the stars were dancing cheerfully jumping from one place to another in perfect rhythm.
The sound of the ship hitting the water current can be heard.
An unsettling feeling washes over him.
Rick closes his eyes and concentrates.
He can hear the soft howling of the wind.
Rick
Drop the anchor! *shouts*
Rick
A storm is on its way.
The men present get on alert mode on hearing him and do as he says.
Rick
Tell the captain to steer the ship 55° to the east.
Just as he has said that the ship starts rocking uncontrollably.
Rick
Everyone hold on tightly!
It was like a nightmare but not anything new.
They had faced many storms during their journey though it was the worst one.
Thanks to Rick's quick judgment, after one and a half hours of fighting the storm, they finally came out clean.
Someone claps on Rick's shoulder.
Someone
Boy, you saved us, else we will be a goner this time.
Someone
He is a very talented young man.
Someone
He will reach great heights.
Everyone praises Rick for his analysis of the situation and quick decision-making.
They all cheered on overcoming the obstacle together.
Jose
At least, you learned something during the voyage.
Josh chimes coming up on the deck. His face looks pale however it is nothing to worry about.
Rick
You good, man? *asks concerned*
Jose
Yeah, I am fine. *smiles weakly*
Jose
I just need some air.
Rio
Hey, my brother is a smart boy. *complains joining in*
Jose
Yeah, that's why you call him an idiot. *argues*
Rio
Well, he is an idiot but a smart idiot. *justifies*
Rick
Is that a compliment or an insult? *frowns*
Rio
Whatever you want to take it as. *shrugs*
Rick looks at the sky and says to himself-

-Our destination is not so far now. *smiles*
