Leaving The Lights On (English Version)

Prolonge

“Liah please! I'm begging you to stay, just think about our daughter,"

I held a one-month-old infant in my arms, sleeping peacefully, and implored Liah.

I pleaded with the woman alongside her returning to us, "Please! Whatever I've done wrong, forgive me initially, and I'll amend whatever my transgressions are. I can't do this by myself, Liah."

I beseech her with a mixture of weariness, concern, and despair. I realize that there is no way to change her mind, but maybe a small amount of sympathy for our daughter may cause her to change her mind and decide to stay.

I feel as like I'm pleading with the clock not to strike five, though. Because there's not the tiniest trace of sympathy in her eyes.

She gazed into my eyes, expressionless. She doesn't seem to be as important to us or as full of love as she once was.

Without showing any emotion, she asked, "You can't?"

"Did you even asked me if I can also do this, Noah? Did you asked me if I am ready? Just once . . . just once Noah! Did you asked?"

Her comments silenced me: "No! Not even a single question. So don't you blubber about you can't do it alone because I did!"

The words she kept for so long that had been released today was all true. What can I do? The words that she all said was piercing in my heart that the only thing I could do was to cry silently. All this years we've been together she never said a word of how she suffered, what I thought that this things, the situation we had was alright with her. I never really think of this issue that maybe it's too much for her to handle.

I never thought that the one I truly love and treasure was choking with this situation we had.

“You distroyed my hopes and dreams Noah! I have been banished by my family just because of your stupid f*cking love!" She's not the Leah I knew and loved before. She completely switched to the different women I loved before.

Her eyes wasn't that loving Leah I knew. Her sweet voice change into a rough like monster voice that I fear my child would hear.

Is this my punishment for being such a jerk and forcing her to be with me instead of living her life reaching and doing what she love? ls this the true meaning of teenage romance that end up being a bad environment for a poor little angel? Cause if this is it? I hate it!

“I honestly new that I liked you the first time I saw you, but with this? I can't live and continue living with this kind of life you have given me.”

Her words are hurtful. But I'm bearing with it cause I am holding our baby.

At this point I am positive that she'll be leaving. She already pack up her things and now carrying her things and ready to leave. While here I am sobbing and still pleading for her not to set her foot out of our small apartment.

I can't believe she'll be gone by our little house. I kept on holding on her bag but in a blink of an eye she shrugged my hand not minding that I'm holding her baby too.

As I'm looking down on my babies checks, I heard her footsteps walking away to where we are. A moment later, The door slammed.

I cried silently again, my star, my moon, her mother. She's gone!

Seahna

Seah's Point Of View

I am kneeling in front of my fathers grave while holding a bouquet of white tulips flower. He love this flowers and I remember he always buy tulips for our little altar. And buying this for his grave made me missed him more. It's been years since he died and resting here in his grave. The memory of him might still fresh but without his presence, I felt like I'm forgetting his face. And I don't want that.

"I love you Dad," 3 words of I love you’s now that his gone was the only time I said those words and through it's grave. Ashamed, he never heard me saying those words to him when his still alive.

And now that his gone, he'll be no longer hearing those words of love from his only daughter. Growing up with one parent was a very difficult thing. On top of that, I never grow up to a family that show you love and verbally saying I Love You to each other.

You can't blame me right?

In my case, I cannot share my other burden to my father. Some things he'll might never understand. It's easier for a girl to seek comfort to her mom than her dad. Without the presence of a mom it's difficult to approach a dad in some girls stuff.

But in my situation my dad was the only parent that stand by my side. I never had a glimpse of my mom, dad said she had grown so she left.

My dad give me pictures of her yet due to it's state no use at all I can't even clearly saw it's face. Dad always tell me stories like how they meet. The sweetness and the cringes of their live story, but when I asked him how they fall apart. He'll be silent.

He'll always says that, when the time comes and I'll meet my mom, don't ever hate her. I don't understand but at that age I just noded.

As I remember him again my eyes gets wet and another year drops come rushing down on my check. By just touching his gravestone makes me missed him more. Noah Celincio engraved with it's name, here he rest under the stars that he likes. And the moon he adores, my father Noah rest to his internal sleep.

Wipping my tear and breath heavy, I again remembered why I am here in his grave. Today was my last day of finding myself a place to stay. It's not like I've been banished or something, it's just that I needed some place near where I attended College. The university and in my old place was way too far in distance so traveling from home to my attending university kinda conflict itself.

And on top of that, I'm planning to have my part time job, now that I am in College. My expenses and my needs as a student is also increasing now that I'm attending college.

“Hey! I need to go. It's a great day today, can't waste time crying here with some rocks right?” jokingly talking to him as I stood up from kneeling.

I should more forward just like what you have said. And that forward I say was definitely today. Just like that, I bid for goodbyes and for sure I'll be back in here again.

“Always guide me okay?” I said as I left him there resting.

Mr. Tall Guy

I can only look for a place to stay today because school starts two days from now. I also can't search at night or in the afternoon because I will also start my part time job that I applied for. I also got a job as a server at a coffee shop that is also near my school and my duety starts tomorrow afternoon so, today is the only day I can look for one.

After several hours of searching my aching feet lead me nowhere. I've been going around for a while and not a single house for rent near the University I'm going to attend has been occupied. I immediately sat down next to a bakery and quickly shook off the tiredness. It's hot because it's 10 o'clock in the afternoon and I've been here since 8 o'clock. I'm also hungry and need to find something to eat again.

I immediately stood up and decided to eat first before starting the search again. Immediately if you see a grill that sells different classes of street food.

They have isaw (filipino street food), chicken liver, kwek-kwek (filipino street foods), chicken feet, and they are served with a rice covered with coconut leafs, so I was immediately hooked and came closer to it. It's cheap and you'll be full when you taste this classy food. And because of my current budget, this grill is affordable to the same as a student.

"Miss, how much is the grilled chicken intestine and this liver?" I asked the woman with her back to me while I was staring at the merchandise.

"The liver is 8 pesos while the grilled checken intestine is 5 pesos, ijah!" She said and immediately looked at me.

"All right. . . 5 livers and then 10 grilled chicken intestine," I said and smiled at her.

"Raphael Son! Please prepare an order for this beautiful beauty," he avoided my gaze and called his son. A young man who was still dressed and laughing ran towards us from their room. It's obvious that it's from what his mother ordered because of the beads of sweat on his forehead and body.

"My son will take care of you first, ijah." She said goodbye to which I nodded. He returned to what he was doing and his son faced me. "What about you?" There was no hesitation in this promise and the fried fish on the griller were immediately fanned.

"5 livers and then 10 grilled chicken intestine, 3 pears for the rice," he nodded but still didn't look. It's not that it's strict, it's just a bit busy because there are many people waiting for their order at the tables opposite their house.

These are mostly women and some of them have been taking pictures of the man fanning the grill.

His anatomy is little known, but he has a sharp, black, and towering nose. He's not skinny, but as long as he's not skin and bones or just the proper body type, he's not overweight in my opinion. It also features strong eyebrows and long eyelashes. His lips are the perfect shape to go with his medium-sized eyes.

I merely sat in this vacant seat because mine was still there for a while. It's really smokey because it's next to the griller, but I just put up with it despite my ability to smell the smoke.
