Two years ago, a mysterious phenomenon known as the "Portals" emerged, unleashing terrifying monsters that threatened the very existence of humanity. Despite numerous attempts to explore the Portals, all expeditions resulted in failure, with all members returning dead. Even the most powerful missiles could only leave a scratch on the behemoths lurking within. It was then that individuals with special abilities, referred to as "Hunters," emerged to face this threat. These hunters were classified into different ranks based on their abilities, ranging from the weakest E-Rank to the strongest S-Rank. The world now looks to these elite hunters to protect them from the monstrous threat lurking within the Portals.

"I am Kim Jin Hyuk, an average hunter with moderate skills."

Kim Jin Hyuk found himself standing alone in a portal, surrounded by the rocky walls of a cave. This was not unusual for him, as he was used to fighting alone and didn't rely on teammates. As he was walking through the portal, he came across a goblin that suddenly appeared in front of him. Startled by the unexpected encounter, he quickly hid behind a nearby rock to avoid being seen.

He couldn't help but wonder why a goblin was present in a D-rank dungeon, as they were typically known to appear only in E-rank ones. Doubtful that it was a mere miscalculation, Kim Jin Hyuk continued on his journey, determined to find out more about this unusual phenomenon.

As he walked further, he encountered an abundance of wolves. Though he was able to defeat them with ease, he couldn't shake the feeling that he had not grown any stronger in the past two years of his life. A sense of doubt began to creep in, and he wondered if he was even capable of becoming stronger.

Just then, a message suddenly appeared in front of him, causing him to pause and take notice.

Kim Jin Hyuk was taken aback when his phone beeped, signaling that he had received a notification. When he checked, he saw that the message read, "Ding!, [You have been chosen as a candidate.]" He couldn't believe his eyes and wondered if he was hallucinating. In an attempt to dismiss the message, he punched the screen, but it remained there. The notification beeped again, and this time the message read, "Ding!, [The system is being installed please be patient.]" Despite the strange and unexpected occurrence, Kim Jin Hyuk chose to ignore the message and walked away as if nothing had happened. He convinced himself that it was just a figment of his imagination.

While walking away he suddenly saw a message appear in front of him. This time it was not on his phone it was outside his phone the message had become a reality. He was very surprised about this happening he thought that he might have acquired an ability. The message said. "Ding! [System installed you may now see your stats.].

He thought, "Stats?" Kim Jin Hyuk was very curious, and he decided to say, "Stats" loudly

As he expected a message appeared in front of him it was saying,

Kim Jin Hyuk is still looking at his stats. Since he was very confused of this, he did not know what was the thing that appeared before him. Instead, he ignored it, and he kept walking as if like nothing happened, He must think that was just a hallucination.

Kim Jin Hyuk continued walking throughout the dungeon searching for monsters that he can defeat.

Eventually he found one wolf all alone he quickly hid behind the rock thinking if he should attack or watch the wolf leave.

"I can do this!"

He left at the rock and quickly rushed towards the wolf, The wolf sees him and quickly ran towards him.

"Shit!"

Kim Jin Hyuk was bitten on the left hand, Kim Jin Hyuk quickly retreats and getting ready to attack the wolf.

"That hurts you little shit!", He said as he quickly attacks the wolf, He slashed the wolf in the head. He managed to kill it, then a message appeared

Ding!, [Congratulations!, You leveled up!]

"What the... So it was not a hallucination? This can't be real... Have I obtained a skill?"

Kim Jin Hyuk looked confused he was surprised that the message wasn't a hallucination

"All stats went up by two, And I feel powerful too, does this mean If I keep leveling up i will get even stronger?"

Kim Jin Hyuk said excitedly

"But how do I level up? I just leveled up out of nowhere"

He thinks and think

"Is it... If I kill monsters... I can level up? Yeah! that's it! I'll keep grinding!"

Kim Jin Hyuk continued walking throughout the dungeon, searching for monsters, he wants to kill even more wolves now because of what happened, he is hyped and excited

Kim Jin Hyuk then spotted a group of wolves walking, He sneaked up behind the wolves and attacked it

"Hehe now now now", Kim Jin Hyuk said excitedly

Kim Jin Hyuk quickly slashed the wolves in the head one by one and countless messages start appearing before him

Ding!, [Congratulations!, You leveled up!]

Ding...

Ding...

Ding...

Kim Jin Hyuk was still fighting with wolves, he felt that he was getting stronger every time he hears a ding

Kim Jin Hyuk massacred the group of wolves, there was a sudden silence

"Why do i want to get stronger... What's my reason? Why am i doing this?, Ah yeah right this is for my parents..."

"I swear i'll kill all the shitty monsters in this world!"

Turns out Kim Jin Hyuk's family was massacred by monsters, He was left alone he lived by himself after the incident

Kim Jin Hyuk was tired and was heading out the dungeon, he was walking back from where he came from.

But then... The dungeon boss appeared before him

"Heh? What the he--"

"What the hell!?", Kim Jin Hyuk shouted

Kim Jin Hyuk quickly ran away in fear, But the boss caught up pretty quickly. Turns out this boss was also a wolf, but it's different from normal wolf, The boss wolf is 4X stronger than normal and 2X bigger

"Did it got out from the boss room!?", Kim Jin Hyuk said while running away

Kim Jin Hyuk needed to fight the boss somehow because if he didn't, he will die.

Kim Jin Hyuk turns back and slashed the wolf in the left feet, It dealt small damage but its helpful

Kim Jin Hyuk then went for the head, but he missed it, the boss quickly scratches Kim Jin Hyuk's right hand. He was unable to move his right hand because it's injured

"Shit! What do I do now!?", Kim Jin Hyuk said scared

"Yeah right my skill! I don't know if it will work but I'll try!"

"Fireball!"

Suddenly a fire suddenly appeared in Kim Jin Hyuk's left hand

"This is it! Die you shitty wolf!"

Kim Jin Hyuk let out the fire on his hand and shot it at the wolf. He managed to kill the wolf and he leveled up

"Is that it? Why did the b- boss appear here? Wasn't it supposed to be in the boss room?, Nevermind the shit I'm going out", Kim Jin Hyuk said as he walked away from the boss body

"I'm never going back to this dungeon again!", Kim Jin Hyuk said as he walks out of the dungeon

As Kim Jin Hyuk walks he continues looking at his surroundings he was worried because there might be another monster

"Hey... Say what's my stats?", Kim Jin Hyuk said in his mind

Kim Jin Hyuk was now going out in the portal, He went throught the portal and made it out

Kim Jin Hyuk breathed a sigh of relief as he sees the building in front of him

"I'm out finally...", Kim Jin Hyuk said in his mind

As Kim Jin Hyuk walks he heard a voice calling him

"Hey you just got out? Are you did you just raid the portal by yourself?", A hunter said to Kim Jin Hyuk

"Yeah why? Is there a problem?", Kim Jin Hyuk said to the hunter

Kim Jin Hyuk looks at the hunter as he said

"No, no I'm just wondering if you wanna party with .", The hunter said to Kim Jin Hyuk

Kim Jin Hyuk looks at the hunter and said, "Sorry i am not interested in party with you please get out of my way.", Kim Jin Hyuk said to the hunter

And then the portal manager talked to him

(A portal manager is the one that manages the portal. In short he is the owner of the portal)

"Can we talk Hunter Kim Jin Hyuk? Regarding the portal.", The portal manager said to Kim Jin Hyuk
