"Emi, wake up, you're going to be late for school again!" I heard my mother shout from downstairs.

"Damn it!" I said softly, realizing the sunlight was already streaming through my window. I quickly grabbed my cell phone to check the time, and... Shit, it's late, I'm going to be late for college again.

I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom to relieve myself and at least wash my face. I grabbed the first thing I found, which was a hoodie and some ripped jeans, and put them on.

I ran downstairs quickly, my mother was already at the foot of the stairs to invite me to breakfast.

"Sorry, Mom, but I'm late," I gave her a hug and left my house, finding my best friend right outside, in her car.

I jumped in and said, "We don't have time for greetings, let's go or we won't make it."

Sara laughed at my comment but didn't hesitate to reply as she stepped on the accelerator.
