The CEO's Temporary Wife

Episode 1

In a stark white room, the air thick with the pungent smell of medicine, a woman sat on a hospital bed, her gaze fixed on the window. Her right hand rested protectively on her stomach, while her left clutched a small blue blanket. Her eyes reflected the emptiness and loss that had recently befallen her.

Click!

The sound of the door opening did nothing to shift her focus. Her gaze remained glued to the window, ignoring the approaching footsteps. Even without turning, she knew exactly who had entered the room.

Rustle!

A piece of paper was held out to her, finally drawing her attention. She looked up at the man in a black suit standing beside her bed. His expression was cold and impassive as he stared back at her. With vacant eyes, she took the paper from him and began to read.

"As per our agreement, we were to divorce after the child was born. But unfortunately, the child died before entering this world. I don't hate our child, even though this marriage was arranged by our parents. I will no longer force my heart to love you, because no matter how long it takes…I will never be able to love you," the man said, his words met with continued silence.

The woman remained quiet, her eyes glued to the paper in her hand, her heart aching with each passing moment. Her silence seemed to infuriate the man beside her. "ALUNA! DON'T MAKE ME WAIT ANY LONGER! JUST SIGN THE PAPERS!" he snapped.

Aluna Sagita, a beautiful woman of twenty-four, had been married to this man, Efendi Kalingga, for a year. It was a union bound by the will of her late parents. Orphaned at eighteen, she had been raised by Efendi's parents until she was deemed ready to marry their son. Despite the forced nature of their relationship, Aluna had found a way to love her husband. Efendi, however, did not reciprocate her feelings and treated her poorly.

Their marriage was devoid of the love and warmth found in normal families. It wasn't until Aluna became pregnant that Efendi felt the need to try and make their marriage work, to try and love her. But his efforts were in vain. No matter how hard he tried, his heart remained closed off to the woman who was still, at least for now, his wife.

Then, tragedy struck when Aluna was just seven months pregnant. Her world was turned upside down once again, leaving her feeling utterly shattered. Her baby, a loss that cut her deeply, died in the womb before ever having a chance to live. Efendi saw this as Aluna's fault, solidifying his decision to divorce the woman now sitting before him.

"Did you deliberately get rid of our baby just so we could get a divorce?" Aluna's question ignited Efendi's fury. He grabbed her face, his grip a painful reminder of his anger.

"Why would I kill my own child?! You were the one who couldn't even be a decent mother and keep our baby safe! How can you even consider yourself worthy of being my wife? You couldn't even be a proper mother!" Efendi's words cut through Aluna like a knife.

"Just sign the divorce papers! I'm sick of this pathetic marriage!" Efendi roared, shoving her face away from his.

He pulled a pen from his suit pocket and flung it at her. Slowly, she picked it up and began to sign the divorce papers he had brought. Each stroke of the pen felt like a fresh wound to her already broken heart. Pain constricted her chest, making it difficult to breathe. Though Efendi didn't love her, she couldn't deny the memories they had made together, however scarce.

"Done?" Efendi snatched the papers back, folding them quickly before stuffing them into his pocket. His eyes flickered to Aluna, noticing the tears welling up in her eyes.

"You can hate me, but don't forget that you were once a father, even if only for a short while,” she whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of pain and sadness.

Efendi averted his gaze, his eyes landing on the blue blanket lying next to Aluna. He, too, felt the pain of losing his child, a son. Though his marriage to Aluna had been out of obligation, he hadn't hated his child. But now, with the baby gone, he could only think about getting away from this marriage.

"I've settled your medical bills, and I won't take the house that is rightfully yours. There's no need to go to court; let's make this divorce as smooth as possible. I'm leaving. Get well soon." With those parting words, Efendi turned and walked out, leaving a shattered Aluna behind.

Moments later, the door opened again, revealing a beautiful woman with a panicked expression. She quickly shut the door behind her and rushed to Aluna's side.

"Oh my God, Aluna! How are you feeling? Are you okay? I'm so sorry I'm late," she exclaimed, pulling Aluna into a tight embrace.

Aluna hugged her back, tears streaming down her face. She sobbed into the shoulder of the woman who held her, her sadness overwhelming. Sensing her pain, the woman simply held her tighter, allowing Aluna to release her grief.

"It's okay; it wasn't meant to be. Your baby will be waiting for you in a better place," she whispered soothingly.

"Mega, Efendi…he divorced me," Aluna choked out, her words causing the woman named Mega to widen her eyes in shock.

"What? How could he? You just lost your baby!" exclaimed Mega, her voice filled with disbelief and anger.

Aluna simply shook her head, unable to find the words to express the turmoil inside her. The pain was too much to bear, threatening to consume her. Seeing Aluna's anguish, Mega gently rubbed her back. They had been best friends since childhood, and Mega’s parents treated Aluna like their own daughter. Their bond was so strong that seeing Aluna hurting like this filled Mega with a fierce protectiveness.

"That jerk! Just wait; I'm going to give him a piece of my mind! You just stay here and rest," Mega fumed, about to storm out and confront Efendi.

"No, don't," Aluna pleaded, grabbing Mega's hand. She shook her head, silently begging her friend not to do anything rash.

Mega sighed, trying to rein in her anger. She sat down on the edge of the bed and resumed rubbing Aluna's trembling shoulders. Her heart ached for her friend; seeing her in so much pain was unbearable. "Don't you dare cry over him anymore. There are thousands of men out there better than him. You're beautiful, Aluna. You'll have men lining up to be with you," Mega said, hoping to lift Aluna’s spirits.

"I have no one left, Mega. Efendi was my only family. Now that we're divorced, I..."

"Hey! What about me? Don't you consider me family? My mom adores you; she's always asking about her favorite girl. Why don't you come stay with us? Mom would be thrilled to have you," Mega suggested, gently nudging Aluna's arm.

A warm smile touched Aluna's lips, her eyes shining with unshed tears. She had forgotten that she still had a best friend, a pillar of strength in her life. She reached out and hugged Mega again, eliciting a wide grin from the other woman.

"Show that jerk that you can live without him, that you can be happy without him! Be happy, Aluna! You deserve to be happy with someone who isn't completely clueless, unlike that soon-to-be-ex-husband of yours!" Mega declared, her words bringing a genuine smile to Aluna's face.

Meanwhile, in the same hospital, a handsome man stared down at another man lying in a hospital bed, his body hooked up to numerous machines. He gently took hold of the unconscious man's hand, his grip tight and unyielding. Slowly, his head bowed before he looked up again, his eyes filled with sadness as he gazed at the fragile figure before him.

"Wake up! Aren't you tired of lying in this bed? It's been four years. Don't you have any plans to wake up?"

A doctor entered the room, carrying a file. He stopped beside the man, his expression cautious as he addressed him. "Mr. Arvian, your brother's condition hasn't improved. If we were to remove the life support, he..."

"Who said anything about removing it? Let my brother live! Even if he needs machines to do so! I, Arvian Kent Sagara, will sue this hospital if you dare touch his life support!"

Episode 2

Six Months Later.

A beautiful woman was putting on her jacket, she flicked her long, wavy hair and styled it to look neat. Apparently, the woman was staring at the mirror and looking at her reflection. The woman was none other than Aluna, she smiled at herself who looked very beautiful this morning. Without realizing it, it had been six months since Aluna had become a widow.

"Okay, Aluna, don't let your darkest moments make handsome men out there wait too long for you. Get out of the heartache zone and into the ocean of love. Because this world is so beautiful, it's just that so many people are wasting love," said Aluna, encouraging herself.

Click!

"Aluna, I... eh, why are you dressed so beautifully this morning?" Mega was surprised when she found Aluna dressed very beautifully. Because usually, Aluna only dresses modestly and always stays at home. For the past six months, Aluna had been living at Mega's house, she also received full attention from Mega's parents whom she already considered like her own parents. Meanwhile, she left the house her ex-husband had given her empty.

"I'm going to meet a handsome man like a king!" exclaimed Aluna with a big smile.

"Tsk, forget it! Where are you going this afternoon?" exclaimed Mega as she walked over to Aluna's bed and lay down there.

Aluna thought for a moment, actually she had no particular destination. Just wanted to go out and take a walk for a while. For the past six months, she has also been helping Mama Mega take care of her boutique. Occasionally she helps to design clothes. Luckily her design sold well as a modern design.

"I don't know yet, maybe to the mall. I want to buy some clothes, why?" Aluna asked, she was already suspicious if Mega would definitely ask her to do something.

"You're the one delivering Papa's lunch, I really don't want to go out. The weather is so hot, I don't want my skin to get dark. It's different from you who have been white since birth. You can be exposed to the sun and you'll be white again." Mega asked with a big smile.

"Tsk, there's sunscreen. Just say you're lazy. Besides, beauty doesn't have to be white, you just want to be white too much. A woman will look beautiful in the eyes of the right man," Aluna quipped. Mega smiled, showing her teeth, her best friend knew she was lazy.

"Alright, I'll deliver Papa's lunch this afternoon," Aluna said as she picked up her cell phone.

Aluna felt grateful, she felt the love that had been lost from her parents through Mega's parents. Initially, there was fear in Aluna's heart if she stayed with Mega's family. However, beyond her expectations, Mega's family welcomed her well.

"Aluna, have no intention of looking for a husband again? Yesterday someone asked about you to Papa, you know," Mega said which made Aluna turn around.

"Just for you, you're still single. Be careful, you're an old spinster," Hearing Aluna's words made Mega annoyed.

"My soul mate is still keeping my soul mate," grumbled Mega.

"So, grab your soul mate. If I ... wait a minute, I'm still selecting someone who's better than my ex-husband. So that later he won't be arrogant if I marry a man below him," said Aluna as she looked back at her cell phone.

"That's good! So that the womanizer doesn't keep flying, sometimes he has to be dropped to make him realize that he is a crocodile! Not an eagle!" exclaimed Mega which made Aluna chuckle.

In his office, a man who was none other than Arvian was busy with his pile of files. He had been clicking in annoyance, because his work was never finished. For a moment, he glanced at his watch. It turned out that it was already eleven o'clock in the afternoon, where he had to immediately finish his work so he could take a break.

Click!

Arvian was startled because he heard the sound of his office door opening without being knocked on. The man looked up and stared at a woman dressed in tight clothing with a file in her arms. Arvian's acquaintance frowned, he had never seen the woman in his office before.

"Excuse me, sir, I'm a new intern. Your assistant left this document with me and asked me to give it to you," the woman said as she walked over to Arvian.

Arvian's eyes narrowed, he signaled for the woman not to approach him with his sharp gaze. However, as if not afraid. Instead, she stood next to Arvian and placed the file in front of him. Arvian immediately covered his mouth and nose, he had been holding back nausea since the woman was a meter away from him.

"Sir, I...." The woman boldly touched Arvian's shoulder, making the man furious and getting up, pushing the woman's hand away trying to approach him.

"GET AWAY FROM ME, SHAMELESS WOMAN! WHO ARE YOU TO ENTER MY ROOM AND TOUCH ME AS YOU PLEASE! YOU MAKE ME SICK!" snapped Arvian with his face flushed red.

"Sick?" The woman was confused, she tried to smell her body. However, she didn't smell anything bad from her body. Why was Arvian feeling nauseous?

Arvian took the cell phone that was on his desk, he then called security to kick the woman out. Not long after, two security guards came along with a man who served as Arvian's assistant.

"Get this woman out of my office! Don't let her set foot in this office again," snapped Arvian with a sharp gaze.

"Yes, sir!" The two security guards immediately dragged the woman out. Of course, the woman struggled.

"NO! SIR! PLEASE FORGIVE ME! PLEASE FORGIVE ME!" shouted the woman without Arvian paying attention.

Meanwhile, Arvian, he already felt itchy on his body. His face flushed red holding back the itch, his body felt hot too. Seeing his boss's response like that, Arvian's assistant immediately took some medicine from the cupboard and gave it to his boss who was in pain.

Arvian accepted it, he immediately took his medicine and drank a glass of water which he took from the table. The man took a deep breath, his chest felt so tight. He momentarily propped himself up with his palms on his desk. His head was bowed while he normalized his heartbeat.

"Sir, I'm sorry. I was careless, that woman took the file I put on a table before I went into the toilet. I didn't know if the woman took it and gave it to you," said Arvian's assistant with remorse.

"Reza, you almost threatened my life!" snapped Arvian, staring intently at his assistant, Reza.

"Sorry," Reza said apologetically. Arvian sighed slowly, he turned to sit back in his large chair and leaned back

His eyes were fixed, normalizing his hurried breathing. Arvian, a handsome man who suffers from Gynophobia. He will feel itchy and hot all over his body, it could also be nausea. Even, shortness of breath. Like someone who is allergic to food, weather or certain products. But Arvian, he's allergic to women. Every time a woman got near him, he felt his body immediately itchy and hot.

Therefore, until the age of thirty-three, Arvian has not married. Many rumors say that Arvian doesn't like women and actually likes men. Arvian wanted to refute it all, but he didn't have a wife who could refute the words of the people who slandered him.

"Sir, I forgot to give you this letter." Arvian opened his eyes again, he looked at Reza who was handing him a brown envelope containing a letter. He took it and read the writing on the brown envelope.

"Court?" Arvian wondered.

Out of curiosity, Arvian opened it. How surprised he was when he saw the contents. The man straightened up, holding the paper with trembling hands holding back the anger that was raging within him.

"The court informed that the family of the late Mrs. Divya would like to appeal for custody of Mr. Arega. They are using rumors about you that are circulating to strengthen the custody battle for Mr. Arega in the trial. So that later, their request is easier to be granted by the judge," explained Reza.

"No way! My brother is still alive! Even though he's in a coma, he has full rights to his son! I don't want my nephew to be raised by that sly family. When his daughter died, the family sued my brother for his property. Especially if my nephew is in that sly family?!" hissed Arvian.

Four years ago, Arvian's younger brother, Nalendra Sagara, had an accident. At that time, Nalendra's wife was pregnant with their first child at seven months pregnant. However, due to an accident, Nalendra went into a coma. Nalendra's wife, Divya Baskara had to give birth to their son prematurely due to problems with her pregnancy. Unfortunately, Divya couldn't survive. She died after a caesarean section was performed.

Arvian, had to take care of his newborn nephew. He did not allow his nephew to be cared for by his late brother-in-law's family because of the bad nature of their family that Arvian did not like. He takes care of his nephew with the help of a babysitter. Arvian still hopes his sister will regain consciousness, because his sister is the only family he has left after their parents died in a plane crash.

"This cannot be allowed! If Arega goes with them, my nephew could end up following their cunning ways. This cannot be allowed! Their goal is to take Arega so that it will be easy to take advantage of the Sagara family. This cannot be allowed! I have to meet my lawyer," muttered Arvian, his eyes staring straight ahead.

Meanwhile, in a mansion, precisely in a room lit by colorful lights. Apparently, a four-year-old boy was holding a mic. The room felt shaking because of the sound of large speakers in two places that sounded very loud. The adorable boy had been jumping up and down making his chubby cheeks move up and down.

"FIRST OF ALL, I'M REALLY AWESOME! YOU'RE AN AMAZING FRIEND, DILAN! YOU TW..."

"EN! THE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP IS HERE!" The adorable boy ended his activity, he turned his head and looked at a middle-aged woman who was walking quickly towards him.

"Nooo! Mean Nanny, one more hour." The adorable boy ran away carrying his mic, he didn't want to stop his fun activities.

"Eh, little master! I saw a leker seller in front of the house. The brother is about to leave!" shouted the woman, persuading her little employer to stop making a fuss.

Hearing his favorite food, the adorable boy turned around. Arega Geofrey Sagara, Arvian's nephew who really likes dangdut. Not a day without setting it up, making those around him feel headaches.

"LEKER? HUH, THERE'S LEKER, I FORGOT!" the boy threw his mic in any direction. Then, took his money and ran out of his room.

"Huh, finally." The middle-aged woman breathed a sigh of relief, finally she was able to stop the sound that was making her head throbbing.

Episode 3

Aluna stopped her motorbike in the parking lot, she hurried to open her helmet and put it on the motorbike's mirror. For a moment, the woman looked at her cellphone and stared at the building in front of her. She seemed to be waiting for a chat reply from someone.

"Why hasn't Dad replied yet? Is he still in a meeting with his client?" Aluna muttered.

Aluna got off her motorbike while taking the paper bag she was carrying. Slowly, she walked towards the stairs. However, her eyes did not leave her cellphone. She didn't realize that there were two people who had just come out of the building and were headed towards her.

"Aluna?"

Aluna stopped her steps, she was stunned for a moment when she heard a voice she knew so well. Time seemed to stop spinning, suddenly the atmosphere became quiet. Slowly, Aluna raised her face. Her eyes met the eyes of someone who had hurt her. Now, those eyes no longer stared sharply at her, instead they looked at her with a surprised look.

"Mas Efendi," Aluna whispered, barely making a sound.

Aluna averted her gaze, her gaze fell on a woman who was holding her ex-husband's arm. Aluna's gaze fell to the woman's large stomach, her heart skipped a beat. Instantly, she realized that the woman was pregnant.

"I didn't expect us to meet again," said Efendi which made Aluna smile faintly.

"Yes, and how are you, Mas? Unexpectedly, you are married and your wife is heavily pregnant," said Aluna, showing an expression that she was fine.

"I'm very well, how about you?" Efendi replied.

Aluna nodded, all this time she had been blinking her eyes which felt watery. "Fine, very good. My life is much happier after divorcing you," Aluna explained.

Aluna's gaze shifted to the woman who is now Efendi's wife. She smiled at the woman who she thought was beautiful. It's been six months, Aluna still felt the pain that Efendi had inflicted. Then, now the man looks happy with his wife. Wasn't that unfair to her?

"You look heavily pregnant, how many months along are you?" Aluna asked kindly.

The woman looked down, stroking her stomach gently. "Entering nine months," replied the woman in a soft voice.

Aluna was stunned for a moment, she turned to Efendi who deliberately looked away so that Aluna wouldn't look at him. The woman's gestational age was clearly older than the age of their divorce. Aluna realized one thing, her husband divorced her because there was a woman he had to give a clear status to.

"Oh wow! Nine months, didn't we get divorced just six months ago? Oh, I see, you divorced me because you wanted to clarify this woman's status and the child she was carrying in court, right? Why didn't you say from the start, Mas, if you were cheating? Why did you have to blame me for not being able to take care of our baby, so you could divorce me, right? Great job you guys!" Aluna clapped, she was impressed with Efendi who managed to keep his secret.

Aluna turned to look at the woman who was now bowing her head, it seemed that the woman knew about Efendi and Aluna's problem. It was impossible for the woman not to know that at that time Aluna and Efendi were still legally married.

"You knowingly took someone's husband, Miss. The law of nature applies, you will definitely get what you deserve!" Aluna hissed.

"Don't blame my wife, Aluna! She's better than you! Look now, are you married yet? Tsk, I'm sure no man wants to marry a woman like you. Isn't it hard being a widow?" said Efendi easily which made Aluna's eyes widen.

"Listen here, Mr. Efendi! You think no one wants me huh?! Let me know when your child is born, I'll bring my husband who is better than you! You fish-brained man!" After saying that, Aluna left to enter the building. Leaving Efendi who was surprised by Aluna's words to him.

"Is it true that your ex-wife is married?" asked Efendi's wife with a confused look on her face.

"Impossible, who would want to marry a widow like her?" replied Fendi softly.

Meanwhile, Aluna, she wiped away the tears that had flowed with the back of her hand. The woman didn't want to cry either, but it felt like her tears were hard to stop. Because it didn't stop, she stopped and fanned her face so that her tears would no longer fall.

"Why are you crying for him?! Come on, stop, okay. Bring your real husband soon, it's okay to be handsome, the important thing is rich," Aluna muttered, comforting herself.

Aluna continued her delayed steps, until she stopped again right in front of a slightly open brown door. Aluna's intention was to just go straight in, but she actually heard several people talking. Slowly, Aluna peeked to see who was inside.

"Oh, Dad has a visitor. No wonder he didn't reply to my chat," Aluna muttered.

It could be seen that a middle-aged man seemed to be staring at the file in his hand. In front of him were already two men waiting for his answer. Slowly, the middle-aged man raised his face and looked at the handsome man with a firm face.

"Mr. Arvian, your case is very difficult. The rumors circulating will make it difficult for you to win in court. Money is everything, but the media trail is also very strong. Your late brother-in-law's family will win in court if your case is like this," said the middle-aged man to the man who was none other than Arvian.

"Mr. Rafli, you have been my lawyer for almost ten years. All this time the cases you have handled have never lost. But this time, is there no solution to this problem? My younger brother is still in a coma, while the family of his late wife is demanding custody of his son. As his uncle from his father's side, don't I have the right to get custody of my nephew from his mother's family? I don't want my nephew to be damaged if he is raised by their sly family!" Arvian snapped in suppressed anger.

"Sir, please calm down." Reza tried to hold back his boss's emotions, he was worried that the tense atmosphere would get worse.

Rafli Aditya, he is the best lawyer in town. In fact, Arvian made Rafli his personal lawyer in all cases. Including at this time, Arvian asked Rafli to win custody of his nephew in court. However, rumors about Arvian circulating were able to make Rafli feel uneasy.

"I don't want to play dirty. If you want a way out, there's only one way to keep your late brother-in-law's family from being able to fight back," said Rafli, which made Arvian straighten up.

"What? Tell me, I'll do anything for my nephew," exclaimed Arvian excitedly.

"You have to get married, sir."

"What?! That's impossible!" Arvian snapped in annoyance.

Rafli sighed slowly, correcting his sitting position and staring at Arvian who was staring at him intently. He knew what happened to Arvian. What Arvian experienced was indeed hidden from the media. Rafli didn't know who first spread the rumor that Arvian didn't like women and actually liked men.

"I know about the Gynophobia you suffer from, but others will only accept bad rumors about you. If you get married, the rumors will be refuted by the presence of your wife. Your problem is solved, isn't it?"

Arvian was silent, according to him, marriage was something scary. He would always be close to a woman. In fact, what he experienced forced him to stay away from women. How could Arvian get married if he had Gynophobia?

Because they couldn't find a solution, Arvian and Reza finally decided to go back. Arvian's head felt like it was about to explode, his problem was never resolved. A moment later, after they left Rafli's room. Reza crossed paths with Aluna who had been eavesdropping. He seemed familiar with Aluna's face which he thought was very familiar.

"Aluna?" Reza asked.

"Eh? Reza!" Aluna came to her senses, she stared in disbelief at Reza who smiled at her.

"What are you doing here? Where's Mega?" asked Reza familiarly. Meanwhile Arvian, he looked confused at the beautiful woman who knew his assistant.

"Mega is at home, I came here to bring lunch to Dad. In that case, I'll go in first." Reza nodded, waving kindly at Aluna who was about to enter Rafli's room.

Curious, Arvian tapped his assistant's shoulder to ask about Aluna. "She's your friend?" asked Arvian.

Reza nodded enthusiastically, he and Arvian continued walking while answering Arvian's question. "Yes, she's my friend. Beautiful, the campus belle. But unfortunately, now she's a widow because she got the wrong husband."

Arvian stopped, he thought of something. Seeing his boss stop, Reza also stopped. He must have been surprised by the look on his boss's face, as if he was thinking about something. For a moment, Arvian turned to look at Reza while holding his chin.

"Did you say she was a widow?" asked Arvian.

"Yes, sir," Reza replied with an innocent look.

Hearing that, Arvian turned and went back to Rafli's room. This, of course, made Reza immediately chase after Arvian. He didn't understand what his boss was thinking, he was just a subordinate and followed wherever his boss went.

Meanwhile, in Rafli's room, the man was seen opening his lunch box. He smiled seeing the food his adopted daughter brought. His gaze shifted to Aluna who was sitting opposite him.

"It's rare for you to cook and bring it to Dad's office. Where's Mega?" asked Rafli and spoon-fed a spoonful of rice and side dishes into his mouth.

"Beautiful Mama Maya cooked it, you know me and Papa Mega, we don't like to cook," Aluna said with a chuckle. Rafli shook his head, his wife's cooking, Maya, was always a winner on his tongue.

Bam!

"Eh, Sir!" Aluna and Rafli were shocked to hear the scream and the sound of the door being slammed shut. They both immediately stood up and stared at Arvian who walked towards them with a flat gaze. Meanwhile, Reza panicked when Arvian flung open the already open door with full force. Until it hit the closet behind him.

"Mr. Arvian, did you leave something behind?" asked Rafli with a surprised look.

"Is she your daughter?" asked Arvian, glancing at Aluna.

Rafli nodded, "Yes, but she's my adopted daughter. What's wrong? Did my daughter cause trouble?" asked Rafli in a panic.

Aluna, who was accused like that, immediately shook her head while waving her hand. She didn't even know Arvian, so why was she being blamed? Yes, she was wrong. Eavesdropping on their conversation. But, she didn't hear it all.

"Didn't you say that I have to get married to easily win this case?" asked Arvian and was answered with a nod by Rafli.

Arvian's gaze shifted to Aluna. Seeing the man's gaze, of course Aluna felt goosebumps. The man was very tall, making Aluna have to look up to see the man's face.

"Wh-why?" asked Aluna nervously.

"Marry me."

"WHAT?!" shrieked the three of them with their eyes wide open.

"I need a marriage certificate to strengthen my claim to custody of my nephew in court. No matter how much money you ask for, I'll give it to you."

Aluna swallowed hard, she glanced at Rafli who looked on in disbelief. Rafli also closed his mouth which had opened, he turned to look at Aluna who was still looking at him. Slowly, Aluna approached Rafli. She whispered to the middle-aged man.

"Dad, is his salary really that big?" Aluna whispered.

"Yes, he has many companies," Rafli replied.

"Just refuse, don't let you repeat the same mistake," Rafli whispered.

"Alright," Aluna muttered and looked back at Arvian who was waiting for her answer.

"Sir, I ... want to marry you!"

"HUH?!"

.

.

.

"I accept the marriage and wed Aluna Sagita with a dowry of one hundred million rupiah paid in cash!"

"How about the witnesses? Legal?!"

"Legal."

Aluna and Arvian were really married, the two of them were only married at the Office of Religious Affairs without holding a party. Arvian only needed a marriage book to refute what his late brother-in-law's family would later use as a weapon against him. Meanwhile, Aluna, she accepted Arvian to prove to her ex-husband that she could get a man who was better than her ex-husband. Good teamwork, right?

"You are now legally husband and wife and this is your marriage book. May your marriage last until death do you part," said a man while handing over two different colored books in front of the newly married couple.

Slowly, Aluna took her marriage book. With trembling hands, she opened the book and looked at her photo. Never thought that she would get a marriage book again after six months of being a widow. Aluna's gaze shifted to Mega, her best friend was sitting flanked by her parents. The faces of the three of them were staring at Aluna in disbelief.

"Mega, I'm not a widow anymore!" shouted Aluna and immediately hugged Mega tightly.

Arvian blinked, he turned to look at Reza who was massaging his forehead. His boss was too quick to make up his mind about something so sacred. Who knows, will there be new problems after this? Arvian's gaze shifted to Aluna who had let go of her hug with Mega.

"Aluna." Arvian's call made Aluna turn her head.

"Come home with me."
