Alex and Jacob are out in town, buying some groceries. They are laughing and having fun as a couple. They don't hold hands in public because They are still worried about other people's reactions, even if it is the 21st century. However, most importantly Alex doesn't want to risk running into his parents.

" Hey Jacob, I'm thinking about coming out to my parents today. I've been thinking about it for the past month and a half and I think I'm ready" Jacob's face lit up," are you serious? I'm ecstatic but are you sure, don't force yourself to baby?" Alex Kisses his hand discreetly. " No, I'm not forcing myself. I think I'm ready. We have been dating for the past 4 years and I want to eventually marry you, so I need to do this for us" Jacob, hugs, Alex. " Well as you know I will always be here for you every step of the way.

Alex, hugs him back," I know you are always here. You've never left my side". Jacob looks at him with loving eyes," And I never will. Even if you tried to break up with me, I will just come back" He says laughing. " Well let's get the groceries and go tell my parents". Jacob nods in agreement.

After shopping for everything they needed, they made their way to Alex's parents house. " I'm nervous" Whispers to Jacob. " I know just take deep breaths. You got this baby I believe in you" Alex gives Jacob a quick kiss on the cheek. " Thank you! I love you" He says to Jacob in return.

Finally, the door opens And at the door Alex's mother greets them. " Oh hi you too" Alex's mother says, She looks at Alex and continues to say:" brought your friend over again?" Alex nods nervously. " Well you two must come in" She says with a smile as she leads them into the house.

" Well Mum, I need to speak to you and Dad, it's important, and you might have to sit down for it" his parents looked confused. " Oh God, please don't tell me you got someone pregnant. You are too young to be a parent" Alex's father says.

" Oh God no that's not it. But you won't have to worry about me getting anyone pregnant because I'm gay and Jacob is my boyfriend".

That is silent. No one says anything. No one dares to say anything. " Mum Dad can you say something?" Jacob Alex pleads to his parents. Finally, after an awkward, 5 minute silence, Alex's dad opens his mouth. "Fuck, are you sure?" Alex slowly nods his head like he's embarrassed in what he just said. " Okay well how long have you been dating? Jacob" his father asks in a questioning tone.

Alex puts his head down and says, "4 years". Alex's parents are Shocked. " 4 years Alex. You guys have been in a relationship for 4 years, and you just now tell us".

Alex puts his head down," Yes I just didn't know how you guys were going to react because of our religion. I didn't want to put shame on our family." his mother breaks down. " I cannot believe you thought you couldn't tell us. I'm so sorry my boy".

 Alex's dad doesn't say anything. he just looks at him almost like he's calculating something. " So let me get this straight. you are not straight and you've been in a gay relationship for the past 4 years and you are now just telling us..." Alex nods in agreement, " I'm sorry"

" Son, I'm not quite sure why you were apologizing. If your sexuality was your choice, especially with your religion, I know you wouldn't have picked this life, but God always has a plan." Alex starts to cry. He's so glad his parents are trying to be supportive. Jacob notices Alex crying and rushes to hug him." I'm proud of you baby", Jacob says.

Alex's father gives Jacob a stern look And suddenly his gay softens, and he nods his head in approval. "Alex, I think your father just approved our relationship" He whispers. Alex gives a soft smile and Whispers to his father "Thank you"

Alex's father gives him a smile and walks away. "Oh my I'm happy for you son, but please tell us next time anything significant happens in your life" His mother pleads. "Okay I will mother" Alex says smiling. "Well I'm going to finish cooking dinner, are you staying to eat?" Alex looks at Jacob. "If you want us too, we will" Jacob says.

3 hours later, they all finished dinner and Jacob clears everybody's plates and does the dishes. " Hey, you know you didn't have to do that right" Jacob kisses Alex's cheek. " Yeah I know, but I wanted to. I have to go though however, I will see you tomorrow?" Alex smiles," Yeah, see you tomorrow handsome"

Jacob leaves Alex's house smiling.
