Why am I inferior to others? No one knows me, no one cares for me! I do not even have any friends and even no foes. Why am I just different? I need a companion. Just one. I'm contented with one. Having someone to love and call on, just one person to share my heart with. But no one. Am I that bad? Why me?

"Why me?" I snorted loudly from my thoughts forgetting I was only thinking.

"Heck!" I got up from my bed peeping through the window hoping to see some interesting scene, but the knock on the door from the outside drew me back to reality.

The holiday was over, and I was back home.

"Who is that knocking?" I thought to myself, and then I voiced it out. It could only be any of these two persons though... Mom or my younger sister Catherine.

"It's time for school, you'll be late for school" The voice rang out.

It could only be mom now.

"What school?" I snapped seriously, and I added "Are we not on holiday?"

"You can spend all your life holidaying, lazy lad"she snapped back with an angry face.

Then without any hesitation, she made for the door and exited my room.

"Was it not all because of my poor performances after all?" I thought and hissed.

I forced myself out of my bedroom to better prepare for the day's activities when I remembered that my school uniform was unwashed and ironed. And this was as a result of leaving home the very first day of vacation. I quickly took it out, put it in the laundry machine to wash and dry then brought it out for ironing afterwards.

After this I rushed to the bathroom to have my teeth brushed and get a quick bath. It was very difficult to accept that the holiday was already over, the holiday was so interesting that to think it was over "just like that"made me feel very unsatisfied.

On entering my room, I heard footsteps at the doorstep "who could that be?" I thought. Then I said "If the one who is knocking is not Paul, the door is unlocked"

Catherine, my younger sister entered, all dressed up.

"Good morning big sis"

"Good morning darling. How're you doing today?"

"I'm okay and you?"

"I'm fine"

"So I'm curious. Why did you make exception of Paul?"

"You can see I'm still dressing up, and he's an opposite sex, so I should."

"Okay I get it... But we're almost late for school big sis"

What about Paul?

"He's fine"

"I mean is he done?"

"Yes of course, we should be on our way by now"

"Why the rush though?"

"Who is taking us?"I asked inquisitively

"We're riding in mom's car"

"Alright! I'll soon be ready. Just hang in a little longer.

As I watched my only sister, I felt some inner joy. I believed she was the only one I can share my mind with, and to me, she was a darling. As she took a book and was glancing through to it, I watched her with great affirmation that at least I still had someone that I could smile with. And then I remembered we would be late for school, I hasten up my dressing, and soon I was completely ready.

As soon we finished eating our breakfast on the dinning table. I, Catherine, Paul,dad and mom were ready to go on our ways. Mom's driver drove the four of us, Catherine, Paul,mom and I hastily to our school compound. I alighted alongside my younger siblings and went directly to the assembly ground, after saying farewell to Mom.
