Boredom, Loneliness and sadness are only the emotions god couldn't solve. He wanted to create life but couldn't because of his overwhelming presence that would threaten the very fabric of time and space. The only thing that would allow him to fill the void in his mind was to leave omnipotence and create and experience life.
"Just observing stories is so boring,I can't even interact with it, let's change that up shall we?"
He decided to seal his true powers that could annihilate stories and dimensions that can't be measured by any means in an empty space with pure nothingness far from the reach of existence.
After this he chose to visit a fellow god who happens to be the god of creation.
"Uraiya? Can you do me a favor please?"
"I'm busy here, can't you see?"
the god looked at her work as it was dazzling and magnificent, the omniverses that were weaved to each other with an endless expansion.
"Pretty please?"
"Xyno, stop bothering me."
"Just this once, Uraiya please?"
Uraiya couldn't help but sigh in front of a god that doesn't even exist physically, she was practically helpless from
his presence alone so she had no choice but to do a favor for Xyno
"You'll need to have your presence torn to fragments and distribute it across all dimensions and realities, are you fine with that
"Of course, don't mind, even if I had to lose my memories as a god just to enjoy experiencing stories that are really amusing"
And with that decision,Xyno had left godhood and started to distribute fragments of his power across the all realities
One fragment fleeting from another falling in a world that is quite normal
The fragment chose one individual to represent Xyno's presence and that individual was me
I'm Kouta Fujiro, 17 Years old,I'm currently Living my life alone Because of a reason
I always wanted to have a Girlfriend but I guess that's out of reach for me
Well I always say to myself that I'm content with my life but in reality I was really missing something. Something that was really thrilling And Had more excitement that can Lift my Boring and Uncontended life
The person beside me with scarlet eyes, cream hair that was more majestic than sun, this is my Childhood friend,Misaki Ishida,a beautiful and smart yet senseless person.Even though I am really lonely, she always supported me.
"Ah, what a peaceful day it is," Kouta said, "There's nothing that can go wrong here, right?"
"Stop tempting fate!" Misaki replied,
"This is why you don't have a girlfriend."
"My luck may be bad, but not today,"Kouta shrugged. "I prayed at the shrine last night for good luck."
"I do pray that nothing bad happens today "
Misaki whispered to herself and looks outside the window
Suddenly an announcement over the speakers broke what little calm remained. Not too long after, a group of terrorists marched through a set of front doors that should have been locked tight. The chaos erupted with the speed of a match to kindling.
"Can't this day get worse than it is?"
My friend Misaki protested to me.
"There's no way they're going to let us go after they find who they came for."
"Then what do we do?"
Before I could respond, one of the terrorists addressed the crowd.
"We're not here for you," he announced,
"We're here for someone we think is in this school."A hush fell as he continued,
"But if you bring out our target, we'll let you all go."
My eyes landed on my friend Misaki, who was standing next to me. She wasn't just standing, either; she was heading for the terrorists.
"No, Misaki!"
I hissed, attempting to grab her arm.Misaki was undeterred, though, and kept moving forward. Despite my pleas to stop, she went directly up to the lead terrorist.
"I'm here,"
she said, her voice somehow even and steady despite what was happening all around us.
"I'm Misaki, and I'm who you're here for."
Silence met her announcement. It felt strange in the middle of all the commotion, but it was welcome all the same. Finally, one of the terrorists stepped forward. It was the same one who'd made the announcement at the beginning of this. He gave Misaki a quick once-over, before saying something that made all of my hair stand on end.
"We're surprised you turned yourself in so easily," he finally spoke. "Your reputation must be worse than we expected."
Misaki was visibly shaken by this, though she tried to cover it with resolve. She didn't say anything when the terrorist continued.
"You'll do nicely," he said, gesturing to his accomplices.
Another wave of chaos erupted as the terrorists began herding the rest of us out of the room. Despite a few attempts from the teachers and students, we were quickly corralled into a hallway. I could feel the panic rising.
"We're going to die," my friend whispered to me.
"We don't know that yet," I whispered back, forcing myself to believe my own words.
"They came for Misaki, not us."
"If she's the target, why take us?"
"If they wanted to kill us, they already would've," I replied.
"Besides, we heard them right? They said they'll let us go if Misaki goes with them. We can't die here."
My friend was silent, obviously not fully convinced, but she went along with my words. She was always good at following the lead, even now.
"Why are they after you anyway?" I asked, just to keep her mind on something else.
My friend was quiet for a moment, considering my words as she took in the surreal reality of our situation.
"I think it has something to do with my father," she finally said.
"He was involved in something... Illegal, I don't know, before he passed away. He was pretty secretive about it."
"Why does everyone close to me have to be involved in something illegal?" I sighed.
"Is this what I get for hanging out with the pretty, popular girls in school?"
Misaki looked at me as if she were about to say something, but kept quiet anyway. We both sat in silence as I heard a new announcement over the speakers.
"Attention, teachers and students of this institution," a new voice spoke.
"Due to reasons beyond our control, school activities will be canceled."
"How strange," I whispered to Misaki.
"I wonder why they said 'reasons beyond our control' instead of explaining what's really happening?"
"It's not exactly common for a group of terrorists to enter a school, you know," Misaki whispered back. I could see her point.
"True, I just wonder why they're here?"
"They said that they were here for you," Misaki said.
"Maybe they have the wrong girl?"
"That seems pretty unlikely," I responded.
"Who else has the name of 'Misaki Ishida'?"
"That's true," Misaki said with a sigh,
"but they said I was involved in something illegal, right?"
I shook my head once more.
"I'm certain it's a mistake," I said, "they must have been led here by bad information."
"I hope so," my friend said. "If someone is looking for me for something bad..."
We were interrupted by another announcement from the speakers.
"Attention," it began, "all students are to proceed to the gymnasium for an assembly."
Misaki and I looked at each other, both of us feeling uneasy about the order. Something in our gut told us that something was off here, that this wasn't as innocent as it appeared.
"They want all of us in the same room?" she asked in a hushed tone.
"Doesn't that seem weird to you?"
I had to admit, it did seem strange to me.
"Why would they want to gather us together in one place?" I whispered.
"I don't know," Misaki responded
"But we have to find out what's going on."I nodded in agreement.
"I'm with you," I said,
"if we're going koto the gym, we're going together."
It seemed as though most of the students, and even some of the teachers, had been thinking along the same lines. No one moved toward the gym, despite the announcement.
Misaki and I looked at each other, then walked towards the rest of the crowd. It felt better to stick together when the school was clearly in danger, and we kept close to each other as we approached the others. It quickly became apparent that no one was going to the gym anytime soon. The teachers and students alike had a look of defiance on their faces, none of them willing to walk towards their potential slaughter. The terrorists didn't take kindly to this turn of events.
"Attention, all members of this institution," the same voice from before announced, "we have changed the order."
The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, as I suspected this next announcement wouldn't be a good one.
"You all will be escorted to the gym, one-by-one," the voice continued. "We assure you that you'll be let go after we get what we came for."
I looked at Misaki, who had an equally worried look on her face. I looked around the room to find that everyone else was similarly anxious. The terrorists were obviously not kidding around. Before anyone could protest further, a wave of terrorists entered the school, taking charge of each individual present. One by one, they herded them out of the room, forcing them to walk towards the gym.
Misaki and I looked at each other, both of us knowing damn well that we were next on the list. With no other choice, I silently cursed at whoever the hell came up with this plan, and walked out in the direction of the gym with my friend next to me.The crowd was visibly nervous as they walked through the halls, each one wondering what was waiting for them when they arrived.
When we finally reached the gym, we were directed inside. Misaki was right behind me as we walked through the doors, keeping her head down.
As soon as she and I entered, the doors were shut behind us, locking us inside. Something told me to run, but before I could act on my instincts, I was surrounded on all sides by armed terrorists.
"Alrighty, now that all of you are in one place," one of them said smugly, "who's Misaki Ishida?"
"I am," Misaki said, raising her hand.
"If you're here for me, just take me and let everyone else go."
The terrorist seemed surprised by her declaration. He looked at his compatriots, and then back at her.
"You seem awfully calm for someone who's getting kidnapped," he finally said.
"What can I say?" Misaki said, putting on her best confident face.
"I've been through worse over the weekend, this is just another day in the life."
The terrorist laughed darkly at her statement.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he said,
"but that attitude of yours won't help you at all."
"We'll see who's laughing in the end." Misaki replied coolly.
The terrorist seemed even more irritated by her calm demeanor.
"You're a cocky one, aren't you?" he said. "Fine with me, at least it'll be easier to break you."
"What could you possibly do to me?" she replied.
"You can't touch me without touching everyone else here."
"Well," the terrorist replied, "I'm sure all of these people won't be a problem for us."
The terrorist was clearly trying to antagonize my friend, but Misaki wasn't having it. She kept her composure as she looked at him with an almost mocking look on her face.
"Really?" she asked.
"And what makes you so sure? Do you really think your small group can handle a fight against the rest of us?"
I didn't know what to think. I hoped Misaki was right, that there was some chance of survival for us. But as I looked at her, I started to wonder just how confident she truly was.The terrorist had no response to that. He just glared at Misaki as he considered her reply.
"Okay," he finally said, "you've got some spirit in you, I'll give you that. But that's about where all your useful traits end, Miss Ishida."He stepped forward.
"Time to come with us," he demanded.
Misaki didn't say a word. She let out a small sigh as she turned around and began walking towards the terrorists. I couldn't believe it. Misaki was just going to go with them? I was about to say something when one of the terrorists turned to look at me. For what little I saw of his face, I could tell he was grinning savagely.
"What do you think, boy?" he chimed in. "Why don't you come with us too?"
I froze. The thought of me joining Misaki made me nervous, but it was an order from a terrorist of all people.
What else was I supposed to do? I had no idea what to do, but I knew that I couldn't leave Misaki alone with the terrorists, either. Maybe if I accompanied her, I could help her somehow.
I put on a small, nervous, smile
"I guess I will then."
The terrorist nodded, turning back to look at Misaki.
"Now that we've got you two," he said, "no reason not to make good on my word."
He signaled to his compatriots, who quickly began herding the rest of the crowd towards the gym's exit. Misaki and I both looked at the terrorists as they began herding the rest of the crowd and felt a tiny pang of guilt. It was quickly quashed, however, as one of the terrorists suddenly grabbed my friend's arm.
"No chance of you two changing your minds?" the terrorist asked.
Misaki just shook her head. "Of course not."
"Then if you'll follow me," the terrorist said, "we can end this without anybody else getting hurt."
My heart sank when the terrorist started leading Misaki towards one of the hallway's exits.
"Wait," I called out after them, "why are you bringing her with you?"
The terrorist just gave me a sarcastic scoff as he turned towards me. "Because we want to," he answered, before turning back towards Misaki.
"Come on, let's get this over with."
The other two terrorists, who were still keeping the rest of the crowd in place, looked on with smirks.
I was at a loss. The terrorists were taking Misaki away, and there was nothing I could do to stop them.
I felt a pit of guilt and anxiety in my stomach as I stood there with the rest of the crowd while the terrorists escorted my friend away.
"There has to be something I can do," I whispered to myself.
"There has to be a way I can save her."
But I couldn't think of anything, I wasn't even sure where they were taking Misaki in the first place.
I Felt frustrated as I turned to look at those still stuck with me.
"What are we going to do?" one of them asked.
"Just wait," another responded.
"The police are going to arrive soon, and then things will be taken care of."
Everyone looked around nervously as we waited for the sound of sirens or gunshots. As the seconds ticked by with nothing more than the terrorists occasionally glancing back in our direction, the tension and panic continued to grow.
"What the hell are they doing?" someone else whispered.
We waited in silence as the clock ticked by. The minutes felt like hours as the tensions rose.
Finally, a sound came from outside, signaling that something had changed.
"What's that!?" someone whispered.
"It's gunshots!" another voice yelled.
A moment later, the terrorists started pushing us towards the door.
"Police are here," one of them said, "everyone needs to vacate the gym immediately.
"But what about Misaki?" I asked. "What about us?"
The terrorists didn't bother waiting for an answer. Instead, they pushed us out of the gym, where police were already waiting for us.
I looked around at the law enforcement, trying to ignore the chaos. They were all fully armed, clearly ready to take charge of the situation.
I felt my breath hitched in my chest as I considered their next move.
"Hey!" I yelled to one of the police officers. "You gotta find Misaki. Her life is in danger!"
The officer didn't even bother looking up from his radio.I looked back into the gym, trying to see if there was any hint as to what had become of Misaki. It was pointless, however, as the terrorists were nowhere to be found.
I took a deep breath, trying to push down the anxiety and frustration that was building up inside of me.
Was this my fault? Was my desire to help Misaki the reason she was taken in the first place? I didn't want to believe it was, but a horrible thought began to creep into my mind.I watched from the sidelines as the police moved into the gym, beginning a sweep of the area.
Despite their best efforts, they found nothing. The terrorists were gone, and so was Misaki.
I felt horrible. Even if I didn't get her into this mess, I still couldn't save her from it.
My mind went to the worst-case scenario, imagining Misaki hurt or even dead. The thought alone was enough to tear me apart from the inside out.
Misaki and I were escorted by the terrorists to the gym's exit, where we found a few armed police officers waiting. They were all on high alert, ready to respond if something went wrong.
The terrorists seemed to be in a good mood, however, as they led us out to the parking lot.
As we were led to a van that the terrorists had set up for us, I shot a nervous glance at Misaki.
"I just gotta keep it together," I whispered, "until the police handle this."
The terrorists didn't seem to notice or care about my words. They just pushed us into the back of the van, locking the door behind us once we were inside.
Misaki was quiet, staring at the floor of the van with a look of hopelessness. I couldn't blame her, either.
"What the hell are they doing with us?" I eventually asked, unable to hold back.
"I don't know," Misaki said, her tone defeated. "But it can't be anything good."
I couldn't deny it, either. The terrorists had made their intentions clear from the get-go. Still, part of me hoped that they were just trying to get something out of this.
"We'll get out of here," I said, trying to reassure myself as much as I was Misaki, "this won't last forever."
Misaki just nodded, keeping quiet as the sound of the vehicle starting filled the air.The terrorist van began driving down the road. I looked around, trying to figure out where we were headed next.
My eyes immediately fell on Misaki, who sat next to me. She looked defeated, like her optimism was fading.
"Misaki," I whispered. "Do you think everything is going to be okay?"
She didn't bother looking at me, just shaking her head. The look she gave me spoke volumes about her lack of optimism.
"I... I don't know," she finally said with a sigh.I felt a wave of hopelessness hit me. Misaki had been the optimistic one, keeping me going during these trying times. If even she lost hope, I couldn't help but think that we were truly stuck.
I wanted to believe we could survive this. I wanted to believe that we'd make it out of this mess unscathed.
But what if that was just a pipe dream? What if we were about to go through the worst day of our lives?
The sound of sirens filled the air outside, and I took a sharp breath as I realized what we both desperately needed.
Police vehicles began zooming past, heading in our direction.
Misaki and I both exchanged a glance, our hopes lifted by the very sight of the vehicles.
I felt a small spark of hope ignite, pushing down the hopelessness that had been plaguing my mind.
If nothing else, at least we didn't have to face this alone.
I couldn't help but grin as I watched the police vehicles pass, their lights shining in the windows of our van. It felt like salvation itself had come for us, and I couldn't help but feel optimistic.
"The police," Misaki whispered. "They're here to help us."
I nodded, looking out the window at the police cars passing us.
"They've got this," I told her. "They're going to deal with these terrorists."
"I hope you're right," Misaki said, putting on the best hopeful tone she could manage.
"Because I don't know how much longer I can deal with this."
I couldn't blame her, the experience was overwhelming and frightening. I wanted to tell her that everything would be okay, but after what we had just been through, I couldn't make any promises.
I looked at the terrorists in the front of the van, who didn't even bother acknowledging my words.
"I'm sure it'll be fine," I continued. "Just wait a bit longer."
We waited quietly as the police vehicles continued to pass. It was tense, especially with the terrorists sitting next to us, but we couldn't deny the hope we both felt.
We watched in silence as the police vehicles finally stopped, blocking the road off.
"Looks like we're going to be safe," I whispered to Misaki.
Before she could answer, the terrorists began yelling at us.
"Alright, we're here now, you can give us what we want!"I could make out a few police officers at the vehicles, getting ready to deal with these terrorists. Misaki was still quiet, but I could see her looking out the front windscreen with a worried expression.
The terrorists were still yelling, demanding something from us.
"What do they want?" I asked quietly, not wanting to antagonize them.
"They want what's inside the gym." Misaki responded, "I guess I was right to be worried after all."
I frowned, not liking what I was hearing.
I could see more officers getting out of their cars as the situation continued. There were quite a few police vehicles at this point, and I was beginning to get a little anxious.I leaned in towards Misaki, keeping my voice down.
"You're telling me these terrorists wanted something from the gym? What is it that they want?"
Misaki didn't bother looking at me, speaking as though she had just come to a realisation herself.
"Money," she answered quietly, "or at least that's what I'm guessing."
"Money?" I whispered in disbelief, "this is about money? But why, they could get money anywhere else."
"Maybe they want money from the government," Misaki suggested.
I shook my head. "Why would they bother robbing a gym, then?"
Misaki shrugged, remaining quiet as the terrorists began yelling again.
"I hope they do find a way to deal with them," she said quietly.
I couldn't help but nod in agreement.Suddenly, I was startled by a loud shattering of glass nearby. I looked up to see one of the terrorists breaking the back window of our van, the sound of gunshots not far behind.
I could see the muzzle flashes lighting up the police officers and the terrorists, firing quickly at each other.
"Keep down!" Misaki yelled, pulling me to the floor of the van as chaos broke out around us.I didn't have time to think, as I immediately crouched down and tried to avoid any potential threat.
The gunshots continued, with the officer's shots quickly being met with return fire from the other side.My heart sank, as I remembered what this meant for Misaki and me.
"What are we going to do!?" I yelled frantically, desperate to stay calm myself. "What's going to happen!?"
Misaki just looked at me, her eyes wide with fear.
"I don't know," she said shakily. "Just stay quiet."
I nodded quickly, knowing that I couldn't argue with her. As far as I knew, keeping quiet was our only option.
I kept my head low, watching as the firefight continued outside of the vehicle. The muzzle flashes provided a little bit of light, allowing me to take a quick look at Misaki.
She still looked terrified, but she was trying to maintain her composure.
"I'm sorry," I whispered, hoping to ease some of her worries.
"This isn't your fault."
I could see a flash of movement outside, as a police officer fell to the ground, having taken a shot to the midsection.
The other officers quickly opened fire in retaliation, the terrorists responding in kind.
Misaki was still watching me, her eyes filled with worry as she remained crouching next to me.
"Misaki?" I whispered, my body shaking from the gunfire outside. "Are you okay?"
Misaki and I were hiding beneath the seats in the van, watching in horror as the firefight unfolded outside.
I turned to Misaki, who had her eyes glued to the scene playing out in the street.
"Misaki," I whispered. "We have to do something, we can't just hide here."
She didn't bother answering me, continuing to watch the gunfight play out.
I felt my temper flare, not knowing what to do.
"Misaki!" I yelled, "we have to do something!"
Suddenly, I felt a tug on my sleeve, followed by a soft whisper.
"I have an idea," Misaki said in my ear. "If we wait until everything calms down, we can at least try to escape this situation."
I turned to look at her, my eyes wide with disbelief.
"Really?" I whispered back, trying to keep my voice down so the terrorists wouldn't hear us.
Misaki nodded, her face filled with hope.
"Let's hope it works."
I was about to say something in response, when a gunshot rang out close to our van.
Sudden gunfire burst to life outside, with bullets piercing through several of the police vehicles.
Both Misaki and I immediately ducked, trying to avoid any potential threat.
A soft curse slipped out of my mouth, as I realized that this plan wasn't going to be as simple as either of us had hoped.
"We might have to think of something else,"
I said quietly, unable to keep the concern out of my voice.Suddenly, one of the back doors of the van opened, with a terrorist stepping inside.
"There you two are,"
the terrorist said in a deep, gravelly voice.
"Come on out."
I tensed up, looking at Misaki with a face full of fear.
"It'll be okay," she whispered back, trying to reassure me. "Just stay cool."
I felt my heart pounding in my chest, as I tried my hardest not to lose hope. The terrorist approached us, grabbing me by the arm and pulling me out of our hidden spot.
"I said come on," the terrorist said with a harsh tone, "don't keep me waiting."
Misaki slowly shuffled out of the hiding spot, putting on a brave face as she stepped out of our spot.
The terrorist's face was filled with contempt, as he took a step back and examined me.
"Well, well," he said softly, "what do we have here? A young boy, and a pretty girl."
"What do you want from us?" Misaki asked softly, her voice full of fear and apprehension.
The terrorist chuckled, his harsh look giving way to a sly grin.
"I'm sure you can take a guess," he said with an evil tone.
"We don't have anything of value," I protested, my voice cracking a bit in the process.
"Just let us go."
The terrorist's eyes narrowed, a dark look on his face. "You don't get to make demands here. Now, where's the money?" The terrorist put his hand around my neck, holding me in his grasp as he lifted me off the ground.
I couldn't help but let out a soft yelp or shock and fear, Misaki glancing up at me with a look of horror.
"We don't have any money," Misaki said
desperately.
"Why don't you just take what you want and leave us alone?"
The terrorist's eyes widened with laughter, shaking his head as he put me down.
"Oh no, I don't want your measly scraps," he said.
"I want something more valuable."
I could feel my heart racing as I looked up at the terrorist, the fear growing by the second as I imagined the worst possible outcome.
Misaki stood next to me, doing her best to remain strong.
"What do you mean by 'more valuable'?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Your life," the terrorist replied.
Misaki and I both froze, our faces filled with fear as we watched the terrorist's sly grin grow even larger.
"There's nothing valuable about my life,"
Misaki protested, her voice shaking slightly. The terrorist ignored her, his eyes glued onto mine.
"Your life is valuable," he said with a cold tone,
"don't think I don't see it. But I don't care about your life, I care about your friend's life instead."
Misaki's eyes widened, as she realized just what the terrorist meant.
"Wait, no, don't-" She began, but was quickly cut off.
"That's right," the terrorist said. "Your life, or her life.
Your move, boy."
My heart was racing, my mind filled with fear and confusion as I had to make a life or death choice.
I looked over at Misaki, who was standing beside me with a look of disbelief on her face.
She gave me a pleading look, as if begging me to make the right choice.
But I didn't know what that choice was, torn between trying to save myself or trying to save Misaki.
"I... I..." I began, my voice trailing off as I tried to figure out what to do.
"I'm going to count to five," the terrorist began, starting to count off on his fingers.
"One."
"I... I don't-" I begin, but am quickly cut off.
"Two."
I tried to speak again, but panic set in as the reality of the situation began to sink in.
I had to choose, and quickly.
I could either choose to save myself, or save Misaki.
"Three."
My stomach dropped as the terrorist reached three, the reality of the situation hitting me with full force.
I had to make a choice, and my head was spinning as I tried to figure out what to do.
"Four,"
the terrorist continued, his face showing no sign of emotion.
I could see Misaki looking at me with a face full of fear, her eyes wet with tears as a look of despair crossed her face.
Why did I have to choose?
"Five,"
the terrorist said, his voice calm and cold.I didn't even hesitate, as there wasn't enough time.
"Take me,"
Misaki was shocked by my words, her eyes filled with tears as she looked at me.
I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as the terrorist approached me, a smirk on his face.
I was ready to accept my fate, whatever it may be.Misaki looked back at me desperately, her eyes full of fear as tears filled them.
I couldn't help but feel the same way, as I watched the terrorist reach for something in his pocket.
The sudden movement drew my attention, not knowing what he was going to pull out.
My mind filled with the worst possible thoughts, as I wondered if this would be it.
"Do you have any last words?" The terrorist asked, his voice filled with arrogance.
"I'm sorry," I said quietly, my voice almost too soft to be heard.
"Sorry for what?" The terrorist asked, his voice dripping with contempt and sarcasm.
I hesitated, trying to find the right words to say.
"Just make it quick," I said quietly, my eyes still glued to Misaki.
Misaki was watching the terrorist with a look of helplessness, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Your friend is quite the hopeless romantic," the terrorist said, his voice filled with mirth.
Misaki gave out a soft gasp as the terrorist pulled out a small handgun, pointing it in my direction.
I could hear my heart beating out of my chest, my mind filled with both fear and confusion.
And just like that, I decided her life was more important than my own.
In one swift motion, the terrorist pulled the trigger, a loud bang echoing through the air.
I felt my heart stop, as everything went slow motion.
Time seemed to pause as I felt something hit me, and pain erupted around my body.
I could feel myself falling to the ground, watching as Misaki looked at me in shock and horror.
"N-no.."
Misaki's voice was barely a whisper, her eyes glued open in shock as tears poured out of them.
I could feel my body go limp, everything around me fading away.I lay motionless on the van, my wounds slowly taking their toll.
I could see Misaki crying above me, her face filled with disbelief and horror.
She kept her eyes glued to my body, unable to look away.
I didn't feel any pain, as my mind went numb to the world around me.
The terror and fear I felt were now replaced with a calm, accepting feeling.
I could feel myself starting to slip away, the cold embrace of death beckoning to me.
And just like that my Life came to an end.
Still, one question remains. Is this really the end for me?
The evil deity stood over Kouta's unconscious body, ready to perform the soul swap.
"What a Cruel World you lived in" The deity uttered in a sinister tone.
"I shall take you to a new one and have you possess my blessing" Sounding pitiful
"I will have you destroy my enemies that has lead to injustice"
The deity's smile was twisted and sinister.
"Your soul will not be missed,"
He whispered, before beginning the process of swapping their souls.Having this as the mark of the devil's contract.
Note:This is the first time Im going to write :>
After dying and coming back to consciousness, I was lying in a Luxurious bed. I tried to remember what happened to Misaki.
"How Am I alive? Was this supposed to occur? What happened to Misaki? Is she alright? What did those terrorists do to her?”
My mind was full of these questions that couldn't be answered at the moment.
I quickly took a look at myself in the mirror that was beside the bed.
I stood in front of a mirror, looking at my reflection with confusion
My appearance was different from what I remember. I had teal eyes, grey hair, and decent clothes...But none of these were mine.
I was a child. I couldn't understand what was going on.
Was this a dream? It couldn't be real.
My mind buzzed with questions and confusion, but I couldn't make sense of any of it.
I had to find something to help me calm my mind, but I realized I didn't know where I was.
What was happening?
"No….This can't be"
I started to yell and shout, desperate on any answer or anything that make sense.I didn't want to accept or believe what i was seeing.
But,it was real. And I had no choice but to face it.I was a child once more.
Suddenly a young woman dressed like a royalty entered the room. She stared at me with wide eyes.
"Is something wrong, did you hit your head again?"
She tilted her head, looking concerned.
"Again?wait that's not the point, Something is really wrong,A few moments ago,I was supposed to be a dead teenage boy.Now I'm a young child again"
I stared at the mirror in frustration trying to express the confusion and distress I felt. But it was so hard to accept the reality of what was happening. The Young lady sighed with a slight worry on her face then shouted.
"Mother!he got hit in the head again"
."Excuse me,what do you mean by 'hit in the head again?"
Asking the her for an answer.the young lady sighed and then looked away
."So you don't remember?".
"I'm afraid I don't"
"That's a shame,I thought you would.Very well then,I shall remind you of what happened a week ago."
“It was just the day we arrived at Lindova".
She pauses for a moment and Seems to be lost in thought.
"It was the day of 'our' arrival at Lindova.I was just about to enter the inn we booked when I suddenly heard a Loud bang and Someone screaming your name.I went towards the loud noise and to my surprise i saw you lying on the ground unconscious.Your friend Claire that was beside you was running towards me trying to explain what happened,it turns out that you hit yourself with your own magic. You were rushed to the doctor to check if you had any fatal injuries. Luckily you Didn't gain any of that but the doctor said that you were going to be in a deep slumber. And that's how you lost your consciousness for a very long time"
The young lady explained what happened to me.I was Confused on how that happened then asked.
"Is this really what happened?"
."Are you doubting your own sister?"The Young Lady replied.
"Sister? So let me get this straight, You're my sister?I don't even know your name"
"So you've also lost your memory?"
"What do you mean?Look I was a teenager and just so happened that I became a child. Also You've Avoided my Question about who you are"
.The young lady looked at me with disappointment on her face then sighed.
"Fine I'll introduce myself for you just because you're my favourite sibling.I'm Seraphina Grande. The oldest sibling of the House of Grandes"
."And who am I?" “
You're Elliot Grande,the youngest sibling"
As I came to terms with my new reality, I tried to find the positives in being a child again. I was smaller and weaker than my previous self, but I also felt a sense of freedom and playfulness that I had never experienced before.
I decided to make the most of my situation, and explore this strange and beautiful world I had been brought into.
As I began to accept my new reality, I was curious about my new surroundings. I looked around the room, and took note of its luxurious furnishings. It was clear that my new life was going to have advantages that I had never seen before. As I took in the view, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and excitement. Whatever lay ahead, I knew that it was going to be an adventure of a lifetime.
As my excitement grew, I decided to explore my new world and find out more about my family.
I stepped out of the bedroom, and the young woman named Seraphina Grande followed close behind. She seemed to be excited to show me around, as she smiled and began to explain the layout of the house. I was amazed at the size and grandeur of the place.
It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. I was excited to learn more about the House of Grandes, and my new family. As we explored further, I began to notice strange and unusual things about the house. The furniture was made of strange materials, and there were items that I didn't recognize.
As I looked around in wonderment, Seraphina explained that the house was filled with magical objects, which were rare even in this world. The house and its inhabitants were anything but ordinary. I felt drawn to the mystery of it, and I couldn't wait to learn more.
"And this is our Grand Mansion, where we live."
Seraphina said, gesturing to the large mansion before us.
"The items within this place are all imbued with magic, so tread carefully."
."It's like every item in the house has its own special power."
I marvelled, unable to believe the amazing things I was seeing.
"It truly is extraordinary."
Seraphina smiled.
"Let me show you something."
She led me through the manor, pointing out the magical properties and functions of the various objects we encountered.
As we travelled throughout the house, we came across many bizarre and wonderful magical objects.
"And this is our family's library."
Seraphina explained.
"This room is filled with books, scrolls, and even some ancient tablets. A wealth of knowledge and wisdom is held here."
I was in awe of the vast collection of knowledge stored in this room, and wondered if I would ever be able to learn all of it.
"Here, try this."
Seraphina said, handing me a book.
"This book will teach you how to use some of this house's more basic magic."
As I flipped through the pages, I tried my hand at the basic spells I was reading. I managed to create small fires, move objects silently, and even make myself invisible for a short time.
"You must keep practicing."
Seraphina warned.
"This house's magic is powerful, and you need to learn how to control it before you can use it safely."
I nodded and kept practicing, slowly getting better with each try.Seraphina smiled,
"It seems that you've picked up the magic quickly."
As we continued through the house, I became more and more interested in the world I found myself in.
"Why are there so many strange magical objects in your house?"
"Where did they come from?"
"Our family has been collecting magical artifacts and spells for generations."
. "Our ancestors found many items while exploring the world, and they brought them home to study. Some of the objects were brought back when our family visited different lands and kingdoms too."
"Why are you helping me so much?"
I asked.
"I'm just a random stranger who appeared out of nowhere, so why are you being so kind to me?"
"Because you are my little brother."
. "I can tell you're lonely and confused by everything happening to you, so I want to help you as much as I can."
I felt a surge of emotion and gratitude towards Seraphina. Her kindness was overwhelming, especially since I had no memory of her as a close family member.Soon after, our tour of the house was over, and we returned to the Grand Hall.
"I have a surprise for you." Seraphina told me.
"Please, close your eyes."
Reluctantly, I closed my eyes, wondering what surprise she had in store for me.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now."
I opened my eyes and looked around the Grand Hall. I was surprised to see that the whole room had been decorated with colorful balloons, streamers and presents, like a child's birthday party.
"What's all this?"
I asked, puzzled by the decorations.
"It's your birthday!" Seraphina said excitedly.
"You don't remember it, but today is your 12th birthday. We wanted to throw a party to celebrate."
I couldn't believe it. The whole world had changed and my memory had been erased, but I was still having a birthday party.
"You're crazy, Sister. How can I celebrate a birthday when I have no memories of the past year of my life?" I asked.
"I know, I know." Seraphina said, brushing off my concerns quickly.
"Still, what harm is there in having a little celebration?"
"Well, there's no harm I guess." I admitted.
"I'll try to enjoy it.".I smiled at me, and she smiled back.
"Now stop worrying, and let's go eat!"
She said, taking my hand and leading me to the dining room.As I entered the dining room, I was amazed by what I saw. The table was laid out with the finest dishes and cutlery I had ever seen, and the food looked delicious. As we sat down to eat, I couldn't help but ask my sister again.
“Why do you do all this for me? I can’t recall what our relationship is in this world, yet you keep being so nice to me…why?”
.She looked at me for a moment, as if wondering how to respond, before answering simply:
“Because you’re my little brother.”
I smiled, feeling touched. It seemed like Seraphina was really looking out for me, and genuinely wanted to care for me.We had a lovely dinner, and once we were done, Seraphina led me to my room.
“I’m sure this is all a bit much for you, right now.”
She said.
“It’s probably best that you rest and get used to your new surroundings.”
I agreed and thanked her. I couldn’t wait until morning, when I would finally have time to explore this strange and magical world I had been brought into.
As the next day started, I awoke feeling refreshed and more comfortable with my surroundings.I decided to venture outside and explore the world beyond the walls of the House of Grandes.I walked outside and was astonished to see a beautiful garden filled with flowers, trees, and a small lake. I felt a sense of peace and tranquillity as I wandered through the garden, taking in the fresh air and the beauty of my surroundings. As I walked through the garden, I noticed a small sign leading towards one of the many paths through the garden. The sign read “Path to Waterfall”.
I decided to take advantage of the peaceful atmosphere and the solitude to explore the waterfall.I followed the path through the garden, enjoying the sound of birds singing, the wind rustling the leaves, and the cool breeze blowing through my hair.Gradually, the path led me out of the garden and into an open forest. As I continued walking, the sounds of nature became louder and louder, until I finally reached the waterfall. As I stood by the edge of the waterfall, I could feel the cool mist hitting my face and the sound of water crashing into the pool below.
I took a moment to take in the view and appreciate the beauty of nature around me. Just when I was going to.go back at the garden,I heard a loud scream not so far in the forest.
"What was that?"
I quickly followed the noise.I arrived at a weird looking training ground and noticed someone familiar. It was Seraphina and two teenage looking girls lying down in the ground
"Elliot? what are you doing here?." Seraphina asked
."Oh Hi Big sister,I was just wandering around and found myself here"
"Is that so?Why don't you join us train?"
"Sure i guess? But who are those two?"
"You forgotten about us Elliot?."
One of the girls Stood up and asked with a sassy tone.I was sure that I would get annoyed just from her tone but I wanted to know more deeper if she was going to be a real nuisance.Seraphina chimed in and explained that I had a memory lost even though It was something deeper than that.
"Oh so you really had your memory lost?"
"Yeah, it's something like that"
"I see, hmph it really was like Big sister said."She let out a sigh then continued.
"I'm Charlotte Grande,The second sibling and the one lying on the ground is Luna Grande who is the same as me"
"Hello Elliot"
"Wait so you're also my Big sister?"
She paused for a moment to process the though.
"Yeah, I guess I am." Charlotte said.
"And we are also sisters to Seraphina."
I looked over at Seraphina, who was standing beside Luna.
"We're all related?" I asked, surprised
"Indeed, we're all siblings." Seraphina smiled.
"And you are our little brother."
I felt overwhelmed by all of this information. Not only did I not remember anything about myself, but now I also had three big sisters.
"Well, it's nice to meet you all."
I said, feeling awkward but excited.
"It's nice to meet you too." Charlotte responded.
"Now, shall we resume our weapons training? Luna, get up."
Luna stood up, and I noticed she had a sword and shield in hand.
"Come on, Elliot. Let me teach you how to use a sword."
Charlotte said excitedly.I hesitantly took the sword she held out for me. I had never used a sword before, and had no idea what I was doing.
"Don't be so scared. It's just a sword."
Charlotte said with a smug look on her face.
"Don't tell me that the genius of Grandes are backing down"
Charlotte continued, even though i had no memories of my past life,I was sure that I'm really annoyed koby her.
"I'm not backing down." I said, trying to sound confident even though I was nervous.
"That right." Charlotte said, grinning.
"You'll do well if you just follow my instructions.”
I took a deep breath and tried to concentrate. This was my first time ever holding a sword, so I would have to be careful not to get hurt while following Charlotte's instructions.
"That's better." Charlotte said, giving me a look of surprise.
"Now, are you ready to learn, Elliot?"
I nodded, feeling determined to learn how to use the sword.
Charlotte began teaching me the basics of sword fighting, showing me how to hold the sword, how to make different attack moves, and how to defend against an opponent's attacks. My movements were slow and choppy at first, but as I practiced, my movements became faster an
d more natural.
After a while, I could even hold my own against Charlotte in a mock fight.I was amazed by how quickly I was learning, and felt a sense of pride in myself.
"Looks like you guys are having fun,how about we make it more interesting by fighting me?" Seraphina said.
Charlotte and Luna got shocked at what she said while I got curious.
"Huh? Didn't you already beat us earlier?"Charlotte replied.
"Well you got a point there, Elliot how about you fight me instead?"
I hesitantly nodded, accepting her invitation to duel.
"Okay, let's do it!" I said.
Seraphina drew her sword, and I copied her movements. I could feel my adrenaline pumping, anxious for the fight to begin.Suddenly, Seraphina made a swift move towards me, and I quickly deflected her attack by moving my sword downward in a diagonal way.But Seraphina was already moving towards me again, and I barely had time to react before she struck my sword with her own.
Our swords clashed, and I could feel the force of the blow throughout my body.I jumped back, surprised by Seraphina's attack.
"Not bad." Seraphina said, with a hint of pride in her voice.
I was amazed that I had been able to defend against her attack, but also worried that Seraphina was already thinking of another move to counter me.
I tried to stay focused and wait for Seraphina's next attack.
"I'm sure you can do better." Seraphina said.
"Give it your all, Elliot."
After many tries trying to defeat Seraphina, none succeeded.
"You're too strong Sis" I said while trying to catch my breath.
Seraphina replied with a smug face"Thanks for the compliment Elliot~,how about we call it a day and return to the house?"
"Sure even though i couldn't beat you today, maybe I'll beat you tomorrow"
With that, she pointed at both Luna and Charlotte
"Hey you two, time to go home"
Charlotte and Luna nodded, and the four of us made our way back to the house.
As we walked, I couldn't help but notice how comfortable.Charlotte and Luna were with Seraphina, calling her ‘Sis’ and accepting her instructions without question.
It was starting to dawn on me that I really knew nothing about this world, and everyone else seemed to have accepted me as part of their family even though I couldn't remember a single thing about myself or them.
It was all very weird, but I decided not to worry about it for now and just enjoy the moment.Soon, we reached the house and went in to get some lunch. As we sat down to eat, I couldn't help but look around at everyone else who was part of the family: Charlotte, Luna, and Seraphina, although I haven't met my parents.
They all seemed so relaxed and content, and I couldn't help but wonder what my life must have been like before I lost my memories. But for now, I tried not to worry about it and focused on enjoying the moment with the family I had now.As the meal continued, I could feel myself beginning to relax and warm up to the family, and even though I couldn't remember anything from my past, I still felt the bond we all had.
I was surprised by how effortlessly I seemed to fit in with the family, as if we had known each other our whole lives. In the background, I could hear the sound of Charlotte and Luna chatting and laughing. I decided to join Charlotte and Luna in their conversation.
As we sat together, I felt myself become completely immersed in the moment, and my worries and anxieties melted away.
This was the life I wanted, I thought. A life filled with people I cared about, who cared about me in return. And as I sat there and listened to the sounds of their laughter and their voices, I felt more at peace with the world than I ever had before.
After a while, I noticed that the sun was beginning to set.As I looked outside, I could see the colors of the sky slowly shifting from blue to pink as the afternoon turned to evening. I loved this part of the day, I thought. It was so peaceful and calm, and it always made me feel a sense of tranquillity and reflection.
As I watched the sun set, I was beginning to feel slightly sleepy.
"It looks like it's time to turn in for the night, what do you think?" I yawned and felt sleepy.
"I guess it's time for bed,how about you guys?"
"If you're asking Us if we're gonna sleep early, the answer is no" Charlotte said.
"Huh?why?" I ask.
"We're gonna study for the upcoming test tomorrow.”
I looked up at Charlotte and Luna, feeling a bit confused.
"But I thought we were all going to sleep?"
. "We got way too distracted."Charlotte shrugged
"So, you're really going to stay up all night studying?" I asked, somewhat surprised.
Charlotte didn't respond. She just gave me a look that suggested she's not about to back down on this decision.
"What about you, Luna?"
" "No need for me to study." Luna said, with a smug look on her face.
"I've got everything memorized already."
She added, making a show of remembering something by snapping her fingers.
"You know the whole course without studying?" I asked, skeptical of her claims.
”Yup." Luna replied, with an even smugger look on her face.
Charlotte rolled her eyes and turned away. "Tsk. Whatever."
"So, what about you, Elliot?" Luna asked, with that same smug expression on her face.
"Me?Wait do I need to go to school?''I asked.
"Yup." Luna nodded, still holding that same smug look on her face.
"Why do I need to go to school?" I asked, confused
"I thought magic was supposed to be a natural part of life here."
"It is." Luna replied, looking at me as if I was some sort of idiot.
"And in order to develop your magic skills" She paused, as if she was getting ready to say something witty.
"You need to go to school."
I couldn't help but feel slightly offended by Luna's tone.
"Okay then, I guess I'm going to school." I said with a bit of resentment.
"That's a good choice, Elliot." Luna replied, still looking at me with that smug expression on her face.
"I know." I said, trying not to sound too annoyed.
"But, just so you know." Luna began, still smiling smugly.
"You're going to be in the Advance class"
"Wait, what?" I asked, completely surprised.
"Why are you surprised?I thought you would know this in advance"Charlotte asked
I didn't know how to respond to her because I didn't have the memories of my past life. After all the conversation I had,I decided it's time to go to bed and rest. While I was trying to rest,a thought came to my head.I couldn't process the fact that I was going to be in the advance class despite of me being a child. After thinking,I decided that I should just lay down in my bed and get a good night rest.
As I opened my eyes after a sound sleep, I heard someone persistently trying to wake me, rousing me from my slumber.
"Master Elliot, you mustn't oversleep and wake up already, your friend is already waiting for you outside the mansion,"
a voice urged.
I fumbled around for my alarm clock but it was nowhere to be found in my room.
"Oh, I forgot I'm not Kouta anymore," I thought to myself.
"It's already time for you to get changed."
"Ugh, fine," I replied "but before I get changed, mind getting out of my room for a little privacy?"
"As you wish,"
the voice answered, "I'll be with you again once you're ready."
I hastily changed into my day attire and stepped out of my room. I searched the mansion for my siblings, but they weren't found anywhere.
"Where are they?" I queried.
"They've already left," the voice responded.
"Huh? Why didn't they wake me up earlier?"
I wondered aloud. "They were trying, but you wouldn't rouse," the voice explained.
"I see..." I responded. "Wait, who are you again?"I inquired.
"I'm your loyal maid, Lia,"
"I see. Wait, before I leave, who's waiting for me outside?" I enquired further.
"Your friend, Claire," Lia replied.
"Huh, why didn't you tell me earlier that Claire was waiting?" I asked.
"I tried telling you, but you were fast asleep,"
"I see..." I said.
"Well, let's move on."
I followed Lia out of the mansion and onto the path leading to the front gate. As we walked, I wondered who Claire was and why they were meeting up with me. After a little while, I spotted a girl coming towards me, rushing, as if they were in a hurry. At first glance, her appearance was astonishing, as though she was a Noble.
"Finally, I've been waiting for ages!" the girl panted, as she tried to catch her breath.
"Judging from her appearance, this must be Claire," I realized.
"So, are you ready to go?" the girl asked
I nodded in agreement.
"Let's get going then before we get late"
We started to walk towards the town and eventually reached the academy.I was amazed at how big and crowded the entrance.
"We're here finally, let's go inside" Claire said Dragging my arm and going inside the academy.
Before we could even enter at the gate, there were guards that tested students for what class they would belong to.
Luckily,I was already Acknowledged by the guards as an advanced level mage so they had let me in easily.
But for Claire..
“Huh?! What do you mean I'm not going to be in the same class as Elliot??” Claire shouted
One of the guarda spoke “I'm really sorry Miss Eleanor but it is stated in your papers that you're only an intermediate mage,we can't really do something about that”
I tried to calm Claire down and cheer her up
“Come on now Claire, it's not like we're not gonna see each other.”
“You do have a point there” Claire Sighed
“But you better not flirt with other girls”
“I wasn't planning to” I replied
“Besides we're still kids”
“Hmph” She pouted
“See you later then” Said Claire with total disappointment in her face
We both entered the academy though we had parted ways in the hallway
I walked Through the crowded hallway and arrived at our class. Miss Mary, who was apparently our teacher, greeted me and placed me at my respective seats
”Now that everyone is here, let's start shall we.''She declared.
You all know that magic is useful in our everyday lives but magic could also be used in combat” Said Miss Mary and continued.
“But before we get in combat, y’all need to know your mana capacity in order to control your magic properly.”
She explained to us the whole topic on mana management and had us go outside the classroom to test our magic capabilities.
“I wonder, will they also take our magic levels” I whispered.
"It's possible," said the girl sitting behind me.
"Woah, Where'd you come from and who are you?" I asked.
"I'm Eris Hendrix, but you can call me Eris," she replied.
Suddenly, a boy patted Eris' shoulder.
"Eris, you shouldn't scare off Elliot like that," he said.
"I wasn't planning to," Eris replied.
“I'm sorry about Eris here, she just really wants to get along with you,Anyways I’m Niko Elfir”
"Oh, I see, nice to meet you," I said, introducing myself, "I'm Elliot Grande.”
"I'm gonna go look around, see you later," she said, leaving with the boy.
Suddenly, Miss Mary stood in front of the classroom.
"Okay class, let's take a look at your magic levels," she said.
She started to make a list of names at the board, and listed the Magic level next to each name.
As she listed the names, it was my turn.
I wondered what level I would be.
"Elliot Grande,"
Miss Mary said, writing my name down. The room fell silent as everyone waited to learn their Magic Levels.
Even though I knew that I would be at advanced level,my heart still raced as I waited for her to turn towards me and reveal what class I belonged to.
Miss Mary turned to me, and revealed my Magic Level.
My eyes went wide as I realized.
"Advanced Level," Miss Mary said.
The whole class was silent. I was the only one in the whole class to have an Advanced Level magic level.
"Well done, Elliot," Miss Mary said.
The whole class was silent, many stared at me with cold. glares. I was the only one in the whole class to have an Advanced Magic Level.
Suddenly, the class was interrupted by a loud buzz.
All of our Mana Capacity scores flashed up on the board, and Miss Mary started to form a list of names.
The buzz got louder and louder, it was our class being called for Combat Magic Training.
Miss Mary gathered our class and led us to the Combat Magic Training room.
As we entered the room, all of the students gasped.
We were stunned to see so many magical weapons, magic items, and other magical equipment.
Miss Mary gathered us together and explained the training routine. She told us we would be divided into groups of two, and would have to practice our magic skills while fighting against the other group.
She also explained the rules of Combat Magic training.
We were allowed to use any weapons or equipment we wanted, but we were not allowed to use lethal spells.
After that, she dismissed us to grab our equipments.
Moments later on, a girl approached me.
She was looking a little shy.
Why does she remind me of that one girl in a novel? I hope it isn't the stereotype one though.
“Uhm ... .P-Pardon me mister Elliot but w-would you l-like to p-pair with m-me please?” She stuttered.
“Sure I don't mind, by the way how do you all know my name?”I asked
“Of course your name is known, you're a noble after all”
I didn't think that my family had a great impact on the aristocracy in this world. I guess I'm going to get involved with politics more often then.
We headed to the arena and took our places behind the barrier.
As I got ready, I noticed the girl in front of me was a bit tense. I guessed she must be a bit nervous.
It's normal for her to feel a bit nervous before getting into battle, especially if it's her first time. It's important to stay calm and composed during combat to make the most of the situation and keep a level head. I wanted to reassure her that everything will be fine.
"Hey, don't worry, alright? You'll do fine," I told her.
She gave me a slight nod of thanks and a small smile as the barrier vanished and we marched onto the field of battle.
I readied myself to face the other pairing of students, hoping that I could keep up my end of the fight.
Miss Mary's voice echoed throughout the room as she stood in the center of the ring,
"Begin!"
This is where the fun begins, a friendly practice match between two groups of students. It's a great opportunity to practice your combat skills and test out your spells in a safe environment.
The group across from us was readying themselves as well. I took a deep breath and stepped forward into the ring. My partner was still a bit nervous, but I knew that she would be able to handle the pressure of the fight.
As our teacher's voice signaled the start of the match, we charged toward each other ready to do battle. I quickly assessed my opponent's spells and their combat abilities, looking for some kind of weakness that I could exploit.
The opposing group suddenly charged ahead and unleashed a flurry of attacks, trying to catch both of us by surprise.
My partner managed to block most of their spells, but they managed to slip through a few blows that landed on her, causing a bit of damage.
I sent my own attacks toward the opposing group, trying to take out their support mage so that we could gain the advantage in the fight.
Unfortunately, their support mage managed to dodge my spells and counterattack with an elemental blast, causing some damage to me and making me stumble backward slightly.
The fight was beginning to escalate as we both tried to catch the other off guard. My partner was still trying to protect herself from the onslaught of spells from the opposing group while I tried to find an opening to attack again.
As the fight continued, I realized that we still had not taken out their support mage yet, and the opposing group still had a strong advantage over us. I needed to find a way to take out their support mage and shift the tide of the battle in our favor.
I decided to take a risk and unleash a powerful offensive spell in an attempt to take out their support mage.
As I focused my mana, I noticed that the opposing group was forming attack spells in their hands, ready to unleash them at any moment.
I took a deep breath and prepared myself as I unleashed my attack spell in an attempt to take out their support mage.
The spell crashed against the opposing group, causing a lot of damage and forcing them to retreat temporarily. During this time, we managed to take out their support mage and gain the upper hand in the battle.
As their support mage fell, my partner suddenly gained a lot more courage and began to attack aggressively and unleash powerful spells against the remaining group members.
I took advantage of this opportunity and began to unleash powerful spells of my own, striking the opposing group hard and allowing us to gain more ground.
As the battle continued, I could see the opposing group's morale beginning to falter as they realized that the balance of the power was shifting in our favor.
This is when I noticed my partner's magic energy diminishing, and I realized that I needed to act fast if we wanted to secure the victory.
I gathered up the last bits of my own magic energy and released a massive offensive spell that struck the opposing group hard and forced them to fall back.
As my partner managed to recover a bit and regain some of her mana, we both began moving forward and attacking again simultaneously, putting together our magic attacks in order to gain an even greater advantage over the opposing group.
With our coordination and powerful attack spells, we managed to break through the opposing group's defense and take the victory.
As we came to a breathless halt, I turned to my partner with a proud smile on my face.
My partner smiled back at me and fainted as she had exhausted her body and mana.
"You did well"
As my partner fainted, I caught her in my arms and laid her down on the ground.
I gently laid my partner on the ground and turned to the opposing group to offer them their due respect for their valiant efforts in this battle.
"Good fight, " I said to the opposing group, offering them a slight bow. "You put up a good fight, but in the end my team managed to come out on top. Well played."
I turned back to my partner who was still passed out on the floor and gently shook her to wake her up.
"Are you alright?" I asked, as I watched her come back to consciousness.
As my partner slowly regained consciousness, she looked up at me with a weary expression on her face. "Ugh" She moaned as she sat up, "I'm so tired."
“Of course you’re tired! You fought very well,” I said, offering her a gentle pat on the head.
I looked at the rest of my team and saw that they were also exhausted from the fight. Their bodies were covered in sweat and bruises, and they were all breathing heavily.
"I didn't expect the fight to be this intense," I told my partner.
"Now that's what I call a great fight!" came a voice from above us.
Miss Mary, our teacher, had come over to see how we were doing. As she saw the state of our team, she gave us a few words of encouragement.
"I'm proud of your effort and teamwork," Miss Mary told us.
As we looked at her, we couldn't help but feel proud and satisfied with our performance in the practice match.
"You're all amazing! Don't worry about being tired," Miss Mary continued.
"You put in a lot of effort into that match, and I can tell you've all improved so much."
She looked at our team with a warm smile and added, "Now why don't you go back to the dorm and get some much-needed rest?"
We nodded and started to make our way out.
As I and my partner walked through the hallway,I couldn't hide my curiosity and asked her name.
"Hey, we've been together for a while and I still don't know your name"
"Oh yeah, sorry about that mister Elliot,My name is Beatrice Fleur"
"Beatrice, that's a pretty name," I said with a friendly smile.
We kept walking back to our dorm and I couldn't help but notice that she was limping slightly.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
She laughed slightly and told me that she had gotten a bit bruised during our match.
As we reached the door to our dorm, I opened it for her and gestured to her to come in.
As we entered, I saw Eris sitting near the window looking out, and Niko was cleaning and organizing our living space. As he saw us enter, he stopped his cleaning and turned toward us.
It seems like I'm going to be living with these three
"How did the match go, guys?" Eris asked us, as she continued to look out the window.
"It went really well," Beatrice said, as she took off her gloves and placed them on the table.
"It was a great opportunity to practice our teamwork and learn a few new things."
I walked over to Niko and gave him a wave, then sat down near Eris as she was still looking out the window.
As we were all chatting casually, I noticed that Beatrice was still limping slightly.
"Hey Beatrice, your leg seems to be hurt,"
She took a moment to look at her leg, and I saw that there was a large bruise on her thigh.
"Don't worry, it's nothing serious,"
I wasn't sure how true that was, so I insisted on it and asked her if she wanted me to have a look at it.
Beatrice thought for a moment and gave me a small shrug.
"Alright, if you want to take a look I won't mind,"
To my surprise, she then proceeded to take off her skirt and show me the bruise.
As I saw the bruise, I didn't know what to say. It looked pretty bad, and I was worried about how serious it was.
"Are you sure you're fine?"
"Yeah, no need to worry," she replied, trying to brush it off.
I looked at the bruise for a moment with a bit of concern.
"I'm just worried if it's serious," I persisted.
Beatrice shook her head and said it was just a bruise.
I thought for a moment and decided to ask her how she got it.
"What happened, exactly?" I asked her.
"Oh it's nothing serious, don't worry," Beatrice repeated herself.
She seemed really insistant on not wanting me to worry at all, which made it hard for me.
"Are you sure?" I asked her again.
"Look, it's really just a bruise. Don't worry about it," she said as she put her skirt back on and covered the bruise again.
I couldn't help but feel concerned. I knew Beatrice was a bit of a stubborn person, but it's also important to be aware of your injuries.
I decided to ask her one more time, with a bit of a serious tone. "I don't mean to pry, but I just want to make sure you're alright after that fight."
Beatrice sighed and told me that she was fine.
"Like I said, it's really nothing serious," she said softly. "I promise.”
As Beatrice continued to reassure me that she was fine, I had to remind myself that I'm not a healer or a doctor. I can't force her with any of this, even if I want to help.
"Alright Beatrice, I'll trust your word."
I let out a small sigh.
"I just wanted to make sure you're okay, that's it."
She gave me a small nod and went to her bed and took a rest
As Beatrice slept, I turned to Eris and Niko and said, "I hope she really is fine. That bruise looked pretty serious"
Niko looked at me and nodded his head.
"She's a bit stubborn, and she doesn't like accepting help from others," he said.
"I hope she's not neglecting her injury and causing more damage," I said with a slightly worried expression.
"Well, she's already gone to sleep, so there's really nothing we can do now," Eris told me. "Let's not worry too much. It's probably not as serious as we think."
I gave Eris a look that said "You really can't be sure about that."
But I had to agree with her. We were worrying about something that might be nothing much. It's true that Beatrice is stubborn and doesn't like asking for help but still, she shouldn't ignore any injury of hers.
After a bit of talking, Eris and Niko decided to go to their own beds to get some much-needed rest.
Being exhausted after the battle, I didn't really have much of a choice. I walked near my bed and climbed into the sheets. As I closed my eyes, I couldn't help but think about how things would have played out if we had not won the battle.
But that wasn't of concern now. I had to get some sleep and worry about the aftermath and its consequences the next day.
As I drifted off into sleep, I hoped that Beatrice would be alright in the morning. I was still worried about her bruise and whether she would be in good health. But there was nothing I could do right now, so I just closed my eyes and took a rest.
The next morning, I woke up with a bit of a headache. I stretched and looked around the room. Everything seemed fine. Beatrice was still asleep on her bed.
I then went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and then headed to the kitchen to make myself some breakfast.
I made some toast with butter and sat down at the living room table. As I sat there, I noticed that Eris was sitting on the sofa with a blanket over her and a book on her lap that she was reading.
"Good morning, Eris," I greeted her.
Eris looked up from her book and smiled at me.
"Morning! You look a bit tired," she said as I was eating my toast.
"Yeah...I did lose some sleep last night," I told her as I tried to cover up my yawn.
Eris's smile faded and her expression changed into one that looked concerned.
"Is there something wrong?" She asked me.
"No no, it's nothing serious," I told her as I took a bite of my toast. "I just had a difficult night and didn't sleep as well as I wanted."
Eris's expression changed to one that looked thoughtful.
"Difficult night? You mean because of the battle?" She asked.
"Yeah," I said, and took another bite of my toast. "That's probably part of it now that I think about it.”
Eris nodded her head and continued to look thoughtful.
"Do you think Beatrice is okay?" She then started to ask.
I looked at her and had to admit that I was still a bit concerned about Beatrice's injury. "Yeah, I hope she's okay. She said it was nothing serious, but it was a pretty large bruise."
Eris nodded and thought for a moment.
"Do you want me to check on her?" She asked.
"Sure," I told her, "that would be nice. Thank you.”
Eris then got up from the sofa and walked over to Beatrice, who was still asleep on her bed.
Eris bent down and gently tapped her shoulder.
"Beatrice, wake up," she said gently.
After a moment, Beatrice's eyes fluttered as she woke up and sat up in bed. She looked a bit drowsy and tired as she rubbed her eyes.
"Good morning Eris," she said softly.
Eris gave her a small smile.
"Hello Beatrice," she said as she walked over and sat down on the bed. "How are you feeling?”
"A bit tired, to be honest," Beatrice told Eris.
She looked a bit exhausted and her eyes were slightly droopy. She was still a bit drowsy it seemed and wasn't quite all there yet.
Eris gave her a small nod and continued to look at her.
"Any pain?" She asked.
Beatrice thought for a moment and shook her head slightly. "No, no pain."
Beatrice then looked at Eris and gave her a slight smile. "Thanks for checking up on me. I appreciate it.”
Eris's expression changed to one that was a bit skeptical.
"Any pain at all?" She repeated herself.
Beatrice shook her head again and said that she still had no pain, and that she was feeling a bit better after some rest.
As Eris watched her, I couldn't help but remember how determined she was when she told me not to worry about her bruise right after the battle. Still, there was nothing I can do if she's that stubborn.
Eris then let out a small sigh.
"I won't press you and keep asking," she said.
"I'm fine, honestly," Beatrice told Eris with a small smile.
Eris nodded her head and stood up, looking as if she wanted to say something.
But she didn't want to push it with Beatrice, so instead she simply turned to me and said, "I suppose I should also bring up the obvious."
"Hmm,Okay, go ahead."
Eris nodded and looked over at Beatrice.
"It's not a big deal, but I would still like to say that you should try to rest and let yourself heal.”
Beatrice tilted her head slightly and frowned a bit as she looked up at Eris.
"Oh come on, I already told you I'm fine. I don't need to rest if I'm feeling okay."
Eris simply held back her irritation and stared straight at her. "Beatrice, it's okay to admit that you need to rest." She said gently.
Beatrice sighed and turned away from Eris. She didn't want to admit that she was wrong, she always was stubborn. But thankfully she finally accepted Eris's advice.
"Fine," she said. "I'll try to take it easy. Maybe you guys could bring me something to eat, as I already got pretty hungry during the battle."
Eris thought for a moment and nodded her head.
"Sure, we could do that for you. Do you need help getting back to your bed?" She asked.
Beatrice gave Eris a slight annoyed look but she knew it was for her own good. "Yeah, I might just need a bit of help right now.”
As they chatted with each other,I noticed the time in the clock that was already for the morning lessons.
"Oh, shoot!" I exclaimed as I glanced at the clock. "I completely lost track of the time! Now we're gonna be late for the lessons. Oh no!"
Eris gave me a serious expression and looked at me with a tiny scowl on her face.
"You really shouldn't lose track of time like that, Elliot. You know it's a rule that we're supposed to be on time for our lessons at all times."
I nodded my head slightly and apologized, "I'm really sorry. It won't happen again.”
"Just try to rush through your breakfast, you at least don't want to be late," Eris said to me as Beatrice kept munching her toast. "I guess I should also help with getting Beatrice back to her bed."
As Eris started to stand up, she saw that Beatrice had finished her toast and was already about to get up. She looked surprised but also a bit impressed.
"Are you sure you don't need too much help?" Eris asked her, surprised at how fast she finished eating up her meal.
"Yeah, I feel completely fine right now," Beatrice said as she got up from her bed.
"It's pretty impressive how fast you recovered after a bruise that bad," Eris said with a small nod.
Beatrice just laughed and shrugged it off, saying that it wasn't really anything too worrying.
I had to agree with Eris, this was quite impressive, I could even say it's a bit scary how fast she was recovering. It's true that some people do have good healing powers but even then, it's unusual to recover this fast.
As Eris and I finished our meals, we both stood up and got ready for the day's lessons.
Eris was holding Beatrice's arm, helping her walk back to her bed.
As they walked by the living area, where Niko was also getting ready for the day's lessons, he looked at us and said, "Are you guys ready for the lessons?"
Both Eris and I replied with a simple "Yes," after we took a moment to fix our uniforms and ensure we look presentable.
"Alright, let's go then," Eris said as she continued to help Beatrice walk toward her bed.
As Eris was helping Beatrice, I walked over to Niko and gave him a small nod. We both walked out of the Dorm room and made our way to the classroom.
"Hey Niko, is Beatrice alright?" I asked him.
"She seems to be recovering rather fast," I continued. "I'm just slightly worried.”
Niko looked at me with an expression that was a combination of curious and a tiny bit of concern. "She appears to be doing fine," he said. "Or at least she's confident enough that she's perfectly alright."
"That's what scares me," I said with a small chuckle. "It's a bit weird just how quick she recovered from that bruise. Or so she says."
Niko nodded along, giving me a small smirk. "Yeah, you'd think she had a healing ability or something.”
"My point exactly," I replied with a small smile.
The three of us continued to walk to the classroom where our lessons were taking place for the morning's schedule.
Both Niko and I were slightly concerned about Beatrice, although her stubbornness was getting in the way of finding out if she was truly alright or not.
I kept wondering to myself, "Should I just let it go or try to be a bit more persistent with this?"
As we finally reached the classroom, I chose to let it go for now and focus on the upcoming lessons.
As the students gathered in their class with their teacher, Miss Mary, they were all waiting for her to start the day's lesson.
"Good morning everyone," Miss Mary told them. "Today, we will be working on teaching you how to use core systems to obtain a new set of skills for yourselves."
She walked over to the chalkboard, where she began to write some instructions and explanations.
"To start off, you need to understand what exactly a core system is. It's basically a system that allows you to create and customize the skills of your character.
"Now, let's get to the meat of the lesson," Miss Mary continued. "First of all, you need to understand how you gain skills and experience points."
She began to explain the details of how the students would gain experience points and the different types of skills they would be able to learn from the core systems.
As the class continued, the students began to take notes and understand the information that Miss Mary was sharing with them. Soon enough, they were all able to comprehend the core concept.
"Now that you are all familiar with the core systems and its concept, I think it's time we test your understanding of it."
Miss Mary looks at the team with a proud expression.
"We will be conducting a dungeon exam for you all to enhance your skills and obtain various skills."
The students all looked at each other nervously, unsure of what to expect from the dungeon exam. But they were all eager to see what exciting experiences and challenges could lie ahead.
"This exam will have four groups, with the other classes involved," Miss Mary explained to the team. "The groups will be random and you will be assigned to a group of two other players from another class."
As the students listened intently, Miss Mary continued to explain.
"The goal of the exam is to see how well you can coordinate with other groups and to test your understanding of the core systems."
She paused for a moment.
“The exam will be conducted next week.
Good luck everybody, try your best," she said with a warm smile.
As Miss Mary explained the details of the dungeon exam, Niko and I looked at each other and exchanged smiles. It seemed as if we were already mentally preparing ourselves for what was to come.
Niko was the first to raise his hand and ask a question to Miss Mary. "Miss Mary, how exactly would the groups be assigned to each other?"
Miss Mary took a deep breath and explained it in detail. The groups would be randomly assigned using a system that would consider the individual core abilities and stats of each student to ensure each group was well balanced in terms of capabilities.
"Additionally, we have decided to mix up the groups and not let students work within their class," Miss Mary said as she continued. "This is to ensure that you are forced to collaborate with the other classes and to encourage you to work as a team.
"I do hope this is fine with everyone." Miss Mary concluded her explanation with a pleasant smile.
Niko and I nodded our heads in agreement and as we looked towards the other students, they were all looking rather delighted. This dungeon exam seemed like a really interesting challenge that would test their abilities in more ways than one.
After a few more words of advice and well wishes by Miss Mary, the lesson was officially declared over for the morning.
I stretched before I got up from our chairs and made our way out of the classroom. I was quite excited to get started with the dungeon exam and see how well we would perform.
As I was walking out of the classroom, I happened to see Claire sitting by herself in one of the far ends of the cafeteria, apparently lonely and bored.
I gave her a small wave, intending to talk to her as I made my way over to her, "Hi Claire, do you mind if I sit here with you?"
Claire looked up at me and smiled. "Not at all, Elliot. In fact I was hoping you'd come over. I've been by myself for a while now, and I'm really glad to see you.”
Claire then looked around at the other students who were all busy with their own conversations and activities at the cafeteria, "I can't say that I like eating lunch alone. It also doesn't help when there's nothing but silence from everyone else."
"Oh I know what you mean, Claire," I said as I took a seat next to her. "At least we can have a conversation together now."
"Exactly,By the way, you’re flirting with other girls aren't you” Claire glared at me coldly
"Huh?! No, no,"
I was suddenly feeling a bit uncomfortable in her presence as she started to look at me with a stern expression on her face.
"I was not flirting with anyone else," I told her firmly. "Where did that even come from?"
I was a bit confused as to why she suddenly confronted me like this. We were having such a decent conversation just a second ago, and I felt a bit taken aback by the sudden change of tone and mood.
Claire then let out a sigh of relief,
I didn't think that she would actually think that I'm flirting with other girls. I wouldn't even dare to speak to girls in my past life.
I remained silent after she sighed, feeling slightly relieved myself.
I kept wondering to myself why she had even said that in the first place. I didn't think I was even giving her any of those signals.
But now that she seemed to be feeling a bit better, I decided to try to change the conversation's topic. "So, have you heard anything about this dungeon exam that Miss Mary's giving us?"
"I hear it's going to be pretty difficult, and that we'll be working with students from other classes.”
"That being said, there's possibility that this isn't just a ordinary exam to test out skills. The dungeon that we need to conquer will be the newly discovered dungeon located in the southern country"
With that new intel that Claire just gave,I knew I had to take precautions just in case.
I couldn't help but feel a bit anxious after hearing this new piece of information about the dungeon exam.
"Now we know for certain that this dungeon exam isn't anything ordinary," I said to Claire, trying to think of strategies we could use to our advantage.
"If it's a newly discovered dungeon, we might not have any idea of what lies within," Claire responded.
She was right, since this dungeon was just discovered, we couldn't possibly know what kind of monsters or enemies we'd be facing.
"We'll have to be really careful with our movements and actions to avoid any unnecessary injuries," I said, now feeling an increased sense of urgency with this new information.
And with that I broke the conversation with Claire as lunch ended,I also parted ways with her because I needed to go to class.
After saying goodbye to Claire, I made my way to my next class for the day.
By this point, I had no doubt that this dungeon exam would be an interesting challenge for all of us.
As I entered the classroom, I took a seat in my usual spot.
I looked around at the other students in the class. They all seemed to be feeling a bit excited about the upcoming exam and were trying to discuss plans among themselves, probably trying to figure out what they should prepare for in the exam.
I listened intently to their discussions as I tried to make sense of the exam.
It sounded pretty interesting. "A newly discovered dungeon, full of monsters and enemies that we've never seen before."
From what I could gather, it sounds like we'd be taking on some kind of expedition to explore this dungeon, and this expedition would be part of our exam.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Miss Mary had already mentioned testing our skills, but I had originally thought the exam would be more like a challenge where we tested our knowledge in studying and using our core systems.
Why would they let students do something that is really dangerous, are they trying to trick us? or maybe no, Even though I know that something was wrong going on,I still decided to take on the challenge and conquer the dungeon.
