Phew! I sat down exhausted just as my mom shouted at me.."come on arya we've got a lot of work to do yet"

"Yes mom"I sighed but try as much, I could not bring myself to get up from the couch.

Apparently we were shifting to a family bunglow of my great grandmother. I'd only seen her in photographs in our family album. Although it was black and white, the lady in it could be easily recognised as a rare beauty...smily face, dimples and flowing hair cascading down her shoulders and reaching to her hip,her attire gave her a completely royal look.What a pity that I didn't inherit her looks! I'd have guys falling over me!

I heard my mom calling my name again or should I say SHOUTING!

Ugh I groaned.my whole body was practically breaking up. I decided to ignore her and closed my eyes giving relief to my pain.

but then as usual mom came up to me and shook me in that irritating way of hers.

So... damn.... irritating!

But then I knew she would keep doing it until I got up so with all the moaning, groaning and sighing I could manage, I got up and started unpacking. Just then my aunt came up carrying some stuff.

"sarah, let's go prepare something to eat"she said to my mom and winked at me. I shot a grateful look at her and flopped down on the couch finally closing my eyes.

FINALLY! REST!! YESSS!!! I thought to myself and smiled.

" wake up arya" I heard someone shaking me.

"ugh.....what..oh.. yeah....sorry" I sat up rubbing my eyes as I saw my aunt smiling at me.

"come on girl wake up and wash yourself, dinner's ready" she said.

Just at the sound of dinner, my stomach rumbled and confirmed my hunger. I gave her an embarrassed smile and rushed to wash up.

After I finished washing up, I looked out of the window and saw that it was already very dark outside and wondered how much time I had slept. I had dozed of on the couch and lost track of time. The streets were already dotted up with lights. Suddenly my stomach roared bringing me out of my thoughts and back to dinner.

I rushed to the dining table which was submerged in the delicious smell of food!

After having had my fill, I started listening to my mom and dad's conversation.

" tomorrow the agent will come and see if all the things are settled" dad was saying.

"honey, please help me clear the table" my aunt said to me and I started clearing the marble table.

after everything was finished my mom said,

" we will see about the unpacking which is left tomorrow, right now just go sleep"

I went upstairs to the room which I had decided to make mine and lay down thinking of the days to come. I would have to go to school after a few days because right now vacations were going on............................. Then slowly sleep came to me.

basically arya is a normal girl but after shifting she finds out her identity in a different world.....

The next morning I woke up with the sunlight streaming on my face.Quickly I folded the sheets and washed up. then I put on my specs and looked out of the window. ...the view was truely beautiful as the bungalow was situated in the outskirts of the city. We had a large garden on the front which needed a little tending to but overall it was amazing.

I remember the first time I had come here was to have a look and I was really very excited to live in such a big house. when we had reached here, I had ran around the house examining every nook and corner from top to bottom!

And when I saw a room with big french windows and balcony, I decided that I would make that my room.

I was hoping that someone my age will be there in the neighborhood so that I won't feel lonely. Fingers crossed!!! thinking so I went downstairs.

everyone was up already and having breakfast. I joined them .

"arya, your job is to clean up the basement today as your dad and I are going to our previous house to check on some procedures." mom said.

"come on mom I'm not even fully awake" I complained.

"then it's time you woke up!" she answered getting up.

'how heartless' I sighed.

For once I wished that school was still going on so that I would not have to do all the work! Even my best friend was not there. her family was on a vacation somewhere in Australia. The main reason was that her parents loved travelling and both of them were historians. just as I was going over my bad luck, the phone rang and I rushed to pick it up.

"heyyya girl wassup? how are you?", Becca's cheerful voice rang through it and I immediately perked up.

"I'm totally exhausted with the shifting!"I answered.

"aww, I'm so sorry I'm not there to help you out. but don't worry I'll make it up to you when I come back" she said.

"sure" I replied laughing"anyways how are things there? are you enjoying or not?"

" Yes everything is nice but you know what there aren't as many kangaroos here as they say"she replied in a sad voice which amused me a little.

"so what! were you expecting to see kangaroos running on the roads and waving Australian flags?" I asked her laughing.

"well not exactly but I thought that it would be all about yellow grasslands and kangaroos roaming around. I wanted to touch their babies you know...I'm kinda disappointed right now!" she said and I laughed.

That is Becca for you! she always has those funny ideas.

"anyways bye now mom's calling.i think today we are going to some of the old towns"

"BORING!!!!!" We both replied in unison and laughed.

"have fun" I said and hung up.

"so miss arya, time to start cleaning up the basement" my aunt said appearing behind me.

"aww look at your face" my aunt said laughing at my scrunched up face.

"can I do it later?" I pleaded but I already knew the answer.

"nope" she said and gave me a broom and mop. And we headed to the basement with the cleaning materials.

The room was totally dark and after a lot of fumbling around here and there, my aunt found the switches and switched on the lights. The dim room was flooded with lights and I looked around in amazement.

"okay then I'll leave you to it as I have to work on the yard" aunt said and left me on my own.

I stood there speechless wondering what to do next. The room was huge but not too huge. it's walls were made up of brics unlike the upper rooms which were made of cement and plaster. the brick walls gave it an ancient look. when I looked down, I saw that different shapes were intricately carved out on the floor tiles. I guessed that it must be the architectural design of ancient times. afterall this house was quite old.

I decided to explore the basement first and so I started looking around. all the things were neatly stacked on each other but a layer of dust had already settled on it as it was left untouched for many years till now. There were many antiques and idols of gods and goddesses. As I was looking through the things, I suddenly noticed something gleaming in the corner on a statue. I shifted the boxes around to have a clearer look and saw that it was a wolf statue. Around it there was a shiny silver coloured locket. I carefully unravelled it from around the Wolf's neck to have a closer look but it was dusty so I rubbed it against my shirt.

Then I saw it clearly. It was simply beautiful! the shiny silvery substance was like diamond and right in the middle of it, there was a heart shaped red ruby giving it a striking contrast. As I was caressing it, a thought came to me that it must have belonged to my great grandmother. So I started looking around it for an opening but I couldn't open it at all. It kept on slipping from my hands. I looked around for an object which I could use to open it without breaking.

As I was looking around, I saw two green eyes gleaming at me from the inside of a box and I freezed for a moment.

"aaaaaaaaaaaa..................." I screamed and leapt behind banging against the brick wall.

My heart started beating at an incredibly fast pace and it seemed as if it could pop out at any moment. Then I noticed that the green eyes had belonged to a mouse! it scurried away as soon as it heard me scream. Heaving a relieved sigh, I slumped against the wall. I usually don't like mice at all but this time I was thankful that it was just a mouse and not some ghost and all.

Snorting at my own imagination, I shook my head and laughed at its vividity. But then I saw what was actually going on and it left me totally shocked.

At first there was a huge grating noise. it was so loud that I was sure my aunt must have heard it but I didn't hear her calling at all. So I focused on what was actually happening in front of me. I blinked many times to see if I was imagining it but nope, no such luck. But what happened next left me speechless with only one thought
