The Day Before My Birthday

It was cloudy but it didn't rain

It was just past 2pm. I was returning home all happy for my good grades. I passed infront of madam Louise's bakery as usual. I waived to the neighbors and then walked up the steps to my front door. I couldn't hear anything from inside. A thing weird, as everytime I was quite near the door I could hear my parents chatting inside. I started to worry a bit but didn't really think to much of it. I put my key in the doorlock and turned it. The door made a squicking noice as opening slowly. I made to walk in as I started saying while looking with my eyes down:

Elein: Hello mum, hi dad.

I looked up and was shocked when I saw my parents lying dead on the floor and blood all over the floor and carpet. The key slipped out of my hand. I started shivering and felt that all my powers were gone and almost fell to the floor. I silently started crying, tears were running out of my eyes, as I couldn't make a sound because I was to shocked. I heard sirens approaching. It was the police cars and ambulances. I didn't move a step. I continued to cry while looking at my dead parents's bodies. Then, a policewoman took me in her arms and quickly walked out of the door. She sat meme in the police car with my legs hanging out from the opened door. I still wasn't moving. I just sat there, still able to see my dead parents through the opening of the front house door, but a moment later later a police officer closed it. The sirens of the police cars and umbulances were very loud and were rinding me of the fact that my parents were not alive and were lying on the floor covered in blood. I covered my ears with my hands my tightly closed my eyes. The policewoman that brought me out of the house squatted infront of my and tried to put a slightly faded smile on her face. She reached her hand and caressed my head. I then slowly opened my eyes and took my hands from my ears. I looked at the policewoman. She was looking at me with a look that seemed like she understood my pain. She started talking to me. I remember her saying that although my parents were gone, I should stay strong. She continued to talk to me and made me calm down a bit and stop crying.

Policewoman: I didn't ask for your name. I bet it's beautiful. You mind teing me?

Elein: I'm... I'm Elein Sharón.

Policewoman: What a beautiful name! Elein, you promise me to stay strong and when you need someone to help you, you can come and find me at the police office in this neighborhood. Okay? You promise me? This is my name.

She pointed at the nametag on the left side of her police-jaket. I looked at her nametag. Her name was Lilian May.

28 April, 2:23pm. The bodies were no longer lying on the floor. Elein was not there anymore. The house was empty. Outside, the mailbox. It wrote: "Mrs, Ms and Miss Sharón". Silence. It was a cloudy day, but it didn't rain.
