The Sorceress Is Too Op?!

Chapter 1

My head hurts.

I understand you all want to be friends with me but is it necessary for all of you to crowd and jump at me all at the same time? Being beautiful sure has its downfalls. I sigh in frustration.

Officemate 1: “Miss Aurora could you please check if my documents are right?”

Officemate 2: “Miss Aurora we’re having a mixer tonight would you like to come?”

I’m getting dizzy at everything and at all these questions. I check the time and I’m delighted to know that it’s time for me to leave this torturous place.

Aurora: “Sorry everyone I love your offers but I have to go home. I have a lot of work and I’m housing this massive headache.”

I give them my best smile with a hint of weakness mixed in for some full blown effect. Although it has it’s downfalls, there sure is more perks to being beautiful. I chuckle like the villain I am inside.

Officemate 3: “Work? If you’re sick we can do the work for you!”

Officemate 4: “Yeah miss Aurora you just get your rest and we’ll get your job done!”

Aurora: “Oh my that’s okay all of you are too kind to me...”

Officemate 5: “We insist!”

Aurora: “Ok then!”

I reply, while masking my happiness and giving them all the work I need to do, I get my bag still acting weak and fragile. Man, am I a great actor or what? Guess I’m free tonight, I celebrate quietly in my mind.

Officemate 3: “Please get some rest miss Aurora.”

Officemate 2: “Too bad we’ll schedule a new mixer next week so make sure to take care of yourself.”

I’m glad you guys are finally giving me the rest I need! I mean I know I’m beautiful but it’s not like I don’t need rest you freaking animals! If it weren’t for my reputation I would’ve shouted at all of you for being annoying insects!

I get to the elevator after saying goodbye to them and get myself some much needed peace. I reach the bottom floor and walk to another elevator specifically for the underground parking lot of my office building.

Receptionist: “Good evening miss Aurora! Have a safe trip home.”

The receptionist greets me as I pass by her desk, I smile sweetly and give her my thanks. I enter the elevator and arrive at the parking lot, I reach my car and drive home.

People treat me like this because I’m successful and also because I look like I need help every second with this angelic face of mine. They want to earn my favor and that I’m easy to persuade because of this. But only a few know that behind this angelic facade is a tiger with a feisty attitude and a poisonous tongue. It’s not my fault I’m like this, sometimes I just can’t help but think that I don’t fit in here and that I’m suited for something much greater.

I laugh at myself for saying something as cheesy as that, plus that’s just a load of crap, so the only fun thing I can do is manipulating others to do my bidding. It’s evil, I know, but it’s also extremely fun, at least I don’t tell them to kill someone or will I? I smirk.

Then I sigh, I’m definitely going to hell, so it’s a good thing I’ve prebooked my first class seat for ‘The Hell Express: Chugga Chugga Choo Choo’. I finally reach my house it’s nothing fancy but it’s definitely suited for a big family instead of a single person living here. I take a shower in my room, get dressed in my nightgown, and go down to the kitchen. I take a tub of ice cream and head to the living room.

Aurora: “The same old routine everyday... God I’m bored! I wish something exciting would happen for once!”

I shout frustratingly and, as I say this, a hole suddenly appeared in my living room.

Aurora: “What the-!”

Everything starts flying around with some getting sucked into this portal-like black hole.

Aurora: “God I’m so sorry! I won’t ever complain anymore and I promise I’ll be good! I’ll even stop stealing my neighbors lemons! Just close that stupid hole! I won’t even tell the authorities!”

I cry as it continues sucking and I notice that it’s getting stronger every second. I feel myself getting pulled in, so I grab the lamp but this was a futile attempt as I finally get pulled in the blackhole completely along with my lamp, I pray I don’t die and then I lose my consciousness.

???: “Aurora... you will encounter many challenges ahead but I know you will get through it... with this I wish for your wellbeing... after all, this was your fate from the beginning...”

Chapter 2

I wake up and soon find myself falling a few feet away from the ground, I land on the floor with a hard thump.

Aurora: “Oww...”

I moan, I notice that I’m still clutching the lamp from my living room, the one I held onto when that black hole appeared. I regain my senses and I’m now fully aware that I’m no longer in my house, let alone my living room.

I look around and I seem to be in a forest. Someones shadow covers over me and I look up to see a really gorgeous guy, I quickly stand up letting go of my lamp while he leans down to inspect the lamp I was just holding.

Aurora: “Umm...”

I began and he looks at me.

???: “This is odd...”

He mumbles as he went back to looking at the lamp, while he continues to speculate it, I take this opportunity to observe this guy and my surroundings. He’s wearing a blue robe with some white and gold embellishments and my eyes widen at his long, snow white hair that’s in a braid. He has tann-ish skin and he’s wearing a golden monocle on his right eye, he looks smart.

After looking at him, I take a look at my surroundings and I didn’t notice it before but the forest is extremely lush and vibrant, like the ones you’d find in storybooks. We seem to be in a very small clearing with a cottage at the center. I would’ve appreciated all this if not for the fact that there are fairies in front of me.

I’m definitely not going nuts right? Or maybe I’m just really high? I try not to freak out by occupying my mind, so I find myself waiting for this guy to say something.

Aurora: “Excuse me but who are you? And where am I?”

I start, no use waiting or breaking down now. He stands up bringing the lamp along with him.

???: “Do you know how to use this?”

He asks me and I answer him.

Aurora: “Uhh... yeah.”

Fiel: “I guess you’re its weilder then... oh my! I’m sorry but this was rude of me! I’m Garfield Kayden Rosenburg but you can just call me Fiel.”

Fancy name but it doesn’t suit him, although his nickname does.

Aurora: “I’m Aurora, you can just call me Rory.”

We shake hands. At least it’s less awkward now.

Fiel: “So...”

He starts while he shakes the lamp.

Aurora: “Ahh... yes, I’ll show you how to use it but in exchange for something. I’m not offering my services for free.”

I smirk, I’m not about to waste this opportunity. I’m in an entirely different world and this is probably my only ticket on knowing how to get back.

Fiel: “You’re a clever one, aren’t you?”

His eyes shine and I wait for him to agree.

Fiel: “Ok but only if it’s within my capabilities.”

This is going great! I take the lamp from him.

Aurora: “Don’t worry it’s just a few questions here and there.”

I grab the wire.

Aurora: “This is an electrical plug, you need to connect this to electricity for it to work.”

I explain to him.

Fiel: “Electricity?”

He asks me, I guess this is a new term for them considering they don’t even know what a lamp is. I look for more words that he can understand.

Aurora: “Something like lightning? Something that can power this.”

I try to explain to him in terms I hope he can understand.

Fiel: “Oh ok, I think I understand now!”

I’m relieved to hear that, he then brings his hand up and conjures up something that looks a lot like lightning. I widen my eyes again, pretending I’m not secretly freaked out with everything. He uses his hand to charge the plug and the lamp lights up.

Aurora: “There you go! A lamp!”

I happily introduce but he soon scrambles far away from the lamp, which was a weird reaction.

Fiel: “Wait, what did you say?”

He asks me with wide eyes.

Aurora: “A lamp... ?”

I question him

Fiel: “Wait, this is just a lamp? This won’t explode or anything?”

He asks again.

Aurora: “Yup, it’s just a plain old lamp. I’m surprised you even know what a lamp is.”

He gives me a look and I laugh while he slumps down, defeated. He starts mumbling.

Fiel: “I thought I did it right... what went wrong?”

Aurora: “Ok, now it’s time for you to pay the price mr. that-lamp-is-gonna-explode. Don’t worry it’s nothing hard, just a few questions.”

I look at him wickedly while he looks at me solemnly.

Fiel: “You’re really clever indeed, I underestimated you...”

He looks around.

Fiel: “...let’s talk inside.”

Chapter 3

He stands up and walks towards the cottage, it’s cute and looks like a house some beautiful but abused princess would live in along with it’s seven midgets, if you know what I mean.

I follow him while bringing the lamp and look around the little cottage, it’s surprisingly spacious inside with a kitchen and a table with some chairs to my right, and a sofa set to my left, there’s also two doors near the sofa which I’m guessing is the bedroom and the bathroom, a few bookshelves here and there. Most of the furniture is wooden which just adds to the charm of this cutesy cottage.

Fiel: “Sit on the sofa while I prepare some tea, I’m sure you’re thirsty.”

I walk over to the sofa and I place the lamp beside it, then I make myself comfortable. He comes back shortly with a tray of tea, places it on the coffee table in front of me, and sits opposite to where I’m sitting. He immediately looks serious.

Fiel: “I’m sure you’re eager to ask me questions now, but let me warn you first that what we are about to talk right now must remain confidential because if it doesn’t, let’s just you won’t like what happens.”

He smiles right after as if he just didn’t warn me about torturing me if I tell someone about our conversation, freaky just freaky, I nod at him.

Aurora: “Okay, I swear with my life.”

I answer him with confidence because there’s no way I’m backing out if it means I’ll be able to get back home. I finally start my questions.

Aurora: “Where am I? And why am I here?”

I fire and he seems to be prepared for this one as he answers me.

Fiel: “You’re in the Kingdom of Rochester, which is a kingdom best known for it’s powerful mages and it’s abundance in magic and, as for why you’re here... that’s a long story.”

He looks at me and laughs nervously, I answer back.

Aurora: “Well I got a lot of time so you better start storytelling pretty boy.”

I smirk at him.

Fiel: “What did you just ca-”

I cut him off.

Aurora: “Time’s ticking.”

Fiel: “Why am I even listening to you?”

Aurora: “Because you brought me here against me and my lamp’s will.”

He sighs and I look at him sweetly.

Fiel: “This isn’t exactly a secret, but the kingdom right now is kind of... in the middle of... war... because of a deal gone wrong with the Demon King a couple of generations ago...”

I stare at him, waiting for him to continue as he fidgets nervously, but he doesn’t.

Aurora: “Okay... so what does that have to do with me?”

Fiel: “Well, you see... the Demon King is kinda still angry about not getting repaid so he’s you know... destroying everything.”

I look at him and sigh.

Aurora: “Still doesn’t answer my questions.”

Fiel: “You’re here because I was trying to summon a weapon to counter the Demon King with. An old prophecy stated that there is something far greater than the Demon King once summoned.”

Ok, not gonna lie I’m still confused as hell.

Aurora: “Okay... moving on, for now. Tell me Fiel, you look like a man with a purpose, considering you did just try to summon something stronger than the Demon King, so who are you exactly? Are you like some sort of wizard?”

I give him a look and he smirks at me.

Fiel: “You pick up fast, a lady after my own heart. And don’t call me a wizard, call me the royal archmage of the Rochester Kingdom, and I was actually trying to summon the weapon from the prophecy.”

Aurora: “That explains why you were able to light the lamp, freaky, and is the lamp being the ‘so-called weapon’ the reason why you reacted to it like that?”

Fiel: “Embarrassing but yes.”

He blushes.

Aurora: “So that means you failed huh, since obviously me and the lamp aren’t exactly weapons of mass destruction.”

Fiel: “I didn’t want to admit it but yes, I think I failed.”

He sighs and I take this as the right moment to ask him the question I’ve always wanted to ask.

Aurora: “So Fiel... is there a way for me to go home?”

Fiel: “About that... sorry Rory, I can’t answer you right now.”

I sigh in frustration. No use crying now, I tell myself. It’s also weird how I’m able to quickly adapt to everything that’s happened to me, I guess it’s true when they say that humans are adaptable creatures, so now I contemplate the things he just told me and I noticed something about it.

Aurora: “Wait a minute... you said that the Demon King is currently destroying everything, so does that mean we’re in the middle of w-”

I get cut off because we hear a huge explosion outside.
