"Princess, you are to be engaged to the young master of the Lin family."

"Understood."

A man in a butler suit stood in the dark room only lit by a small lamp at the bed side. Sitting on the bed was a small figure, seemingly a child about 5 years old.

The room was luxurious, with an ancient vibe to it. There were a few book shelves lined with the left wall, filled with book not even most adults would be able to understand.......

There was a huge bed in the centre of the right wall, adjacent to the book shelves. A figure sat upon it with her small frame and answered the **man in butler suit.

"Your orders from the old master are to preserve this engagement until further orders." Conveyed the man.

"What's there to preserve when the engagement is set?"

Asked, the little princess with no emotion on her little face. The man felt conflicted by her lack of reaction, but the little princess didn't care.

".....I'm just conveying orders princess. I don't know the details."

"Understood." Said the Little Princess.

Seemingly understanding that the little princess didn't wish to say another extra words, the man opened his mouth,"Then I shall take my leave**."

Clank. **The door closed and the little princess was the only one left in the large room. She got off the bed and picked a book from the last shelf. She, then, sat on the large study table next to it and started reading the book.

After exiting the room, the man wondered why such a little girl is so cold and indifferent when her age is of playing with other children her age, as he made his way towards the old master's room. But instead she preferred reading complicated books in her room?

The man had just started working here. In the past few days of working here, he learned that the young mistress of this palace is cold and did not speak much. But after interacting with her today, he realised it was more than just disinterest to speak........

The Little Princess seemed as though she wasn't interested in **anything. **He only talked 4 sentences with her and yet he was cowering in fear? Fear of what exactly? Isn't she just a little girl? What is he afraid of?

As the girl sat on the bed, the man couldn't help but analyse her delicate features. Even though little, she gave off an unexplained cold aura with the vibe of a real princess. Her white hair were cut short, but not too short. She had a hair cut like a boy and a few long strands of hair that reached her bottom neck. Her skin was a white as a porcelain jade. Her eyes were a beautiful blue but there seemed to be no light in them.......

As he was thinking, he realised he had reached the old master's room. He gave two knocks on the door**.

Knock. "**Enter." A voice replied.

The young butler opened the door and stepped inside the room**.......

The room was bright, completely opposite of the one he was in a few moments ago. But there was also ancient decorations. It was easy to predict that the owner of this palace loved antiques.

An old man sat on the sofa in the middle of the room, leisurely drinking a cup of tea. Even though the actions were relaxed, the old man gave off a etiquette filled vibe. He had an aura of a ruler around him, making it difficult for people to disobey him.

The young butler was naturally affected by this person a almost ran out of the room in fear. But he managed to summon his courage and slowly walked towards the man and greeted him.

Old Master of the mansion put down the tea cup in his hands and raised his brows. He slowly opened his mouth and said, "What did the princess say?". The young butler cautiously opened his mouth as to not say anything out of line, "Princess asked what the old master mean by preserving the engagement when its already made."

The man didn't show any emotions in his face making the butler nervous. But the next second he heard, "That does certainly sound like her." The young butler breathed a silent sigh of relief that the old master wasn't displeased. However........

"What is your name?"

The young butler was asked something he never expected as he was just a mere butler in this huge palace.

"....Ray Johns." The young butler replied with obvious fear and nervousness in his voice, but the old master didn't seem to notice.

"I knew I didn't mistake it. Your older brother was Aaron, was he not?"

The young butler slightly taken aback. "Yes, old master you knew my older brother?" "Indeed. How could I forget the traitor who eloped with my only daughter?"

What!? The young butler was shocked and screamed internally, "Brother, how could you!? Who gave you the courage to elope with this frightening old man's daughter!?" Butt of course his brother couldn't hear his screams...... but wait, didn't that make the little princess their daughter, meaning she was his niece!!!!!!!!??

The young butler thought that the old man was going to even with him in his brother's place, but what he was afraid of didn't happen. Instead......

"You shall be my granddaughter's personal butler."

"Huh?" This time the young butler couldn't hide the surprise in his voice. "I am not a person who take revenge on someone using their family. However, since my granddaughter is really hard to get along with, in a way I suppose this is some kind of punishment."

"No no no!!! The young butler hastily denied. "Who cares if this is a punishment or not!? I still want to live, so I better accept this punishment!!!"

"Are you certain?" The old master asked. "Yes!!" The young butler replied in a panicked tone. For some unknown reason though the old master gave a loud laugh for 3 seconds. The young butler thought to himself, "What in the world did I get myself into! I should have never accepted the offer to work here as a butler for a little more cash!!"

"Yi'er, Ray shall be your personal butler from now on."

After the young butler was made into the little princess' personal butler, the next thing was to get the little princess to accept his pitiful self. Therefore, old master Yi lead the young butler back to the little princess' room for an introduction.

"I don't need a personal butler." The butler suddenly felt as though his existence was a nuisance. The young girl's words seems to carry a hint of displeasure and the air around has started to feel cold.

"Yi'er, I'm aware you do not like people following you around. However, Ray is your uncle". "My uncle?" Even though her voice sounded confused, her delicate features were as expressionless as ever.

"Yes". "Alright then". The young butler wondered what made the little princess change her mind and agree so easily? Did she perhaps had a soft spot for family? How was that possible? Her? The Little Princess? Really? Of course no one would answer the young Butler's questions.

"Ray, you should follow Yi'er, however keep a little distance as she does not like people getting too close to her. "Understood, old master". "Then I shant disturb you any longer dear, continue reading your book". The old master walked towards the little princess, lightly patted her head twice and left the room. The scene of a loving grandfather patting his cold and indifferent granddaughter's head in an ancient room setting seemed like a scene out of a movie.

The young butler found himself dazed for 5 seconds. Only after her heard the door closing did he came back to his senses and realised he and the little princess were the only ones left in the room. Little princess focused back on reading her book as soon as her grandfather left. The young butler was supposed to take care of her, but where was he supposed to start?

Little princess seemed to have noticed the young butler's gaze. She glanced back, her gaze cold. "Are you really my uncle?" She asked in a childlike voice. The young butler thought for 2 seconds before replying, "Yes, I'm your father's younger brother". "Mhm". Little princess didn't say another word.

The young butler was thinking in confusion when the little princess opened her mouth again. "Are you confused about something?" Little princess noticed the Butler's confused expression. The young butler replied, "....yes. I was wondering why the old master asked me to be the princess' personal butler?" "I didn't ask" what exactly were you confused about.

The young butler: "......." Calm yourself Ray! she's a spoiled little princess. This amount of rudeness is normal!

"Since you are my uncle, I shall clear your confusion". This statement sounded like she was doing him a favour but he didn't have time to ponder on that. But she will clear his confusion for him because he's her 'uncle'? Really?

"My grandfather wants someone to watch me but I won't let them. But you are my family member therefore I'll tolerate you. And you also would not run away due to the guilt of your brother, my father, eloping with my mother". Fine!! The young butler gave up. She's just a 5 years old but she has such a sharp tongue!!

The young butler understood that his future with her won't be an easy one.
