Chapter : One

KIMBERLY

"Mum, please help me zip up" I said, turning my back for her to help me.

"oh dear, this gown is getting too tight, you need to stop wearing it" mum laughed

"Well, I don't have money to buy another one, besides they are other important things to do with money" I replied before walking to the kitchen to eat my breakfast.

I ate my breakfast and rushed out of the house after receiving mum's blessings. I was so excited. Why!!

I had an interview with one of the biggest companies in Canada (SILVER GROUP). I've worked so hard to get an appointment with them and I would do anything to get a job there. Finding a job isn't an easy thing but I need to take care of my family.

My name is Kimberly, a twenty three years old lady who is a graduate of marketing. It has always been my dream to work in one of these big companies and I pray the dream comes to pass.

The taxi man stopped in front of the huge gates and I paid his fare before walking inside after being searched thoroughly by the security.

"It's good to be rich" I giggled as I walked towards the elevator that took me to the fifth floor. I have been here before so I know how to find my way around.

The company was so big and smelled nice. There's no place you wouldn't see a vase of pretty and nice scenting flowers.

The door of the elevator opened and I walked out before turning right to the receptionist office. Each floor had their own receptionist and there were twenty eight floors.

Jeeez!!!

"Good morning" I greeted with a smile

"Morning, are you here for the interview" She asked and I nodded

"Okay, please wait for her" she said and I sat down on the chair. There were four other ladies and two guys waiting to be interviewed too.

How can I compete with these? I asked myself. They all wore suits which were neatly ironed and their shoes were literally glowing. "I have lost the job already" I murmured

Few minutes passed and I was already tired of sitting down. Some of the applicants had already gone inside the room and left. Their faces wee expressionless so I couldn't tell if they got the job or not

"Applicant seven"

Oh, that's me. I stood up and followed her inside the office.

Elegant was what I would describe it as, the office was beautiful with the huge mahogany desk and apple laptop on the table.The windows were decorated with flowers.

My eyes moved from the window to the beautiful lady sitting behind the desk and her personal assistant standing behind her.

Her skin glowed and she proudly flaunted her perfect nails before me. She looked at me from head to toe and scoffed

Hmmm, was she trying to make me feel intimidated or what? My gown cost a thousand won and my flat shoes were also expensive.

( HANNAH)

"Are you here for the job" I asked looking at her from head to toe

"Yes ma'am" She replied

"Your curriculum vitae" I asked and she dropped it on the table before me

I opened it and read through it carefully. Impressive

"Mark" I called

"Yes ma'am " He replied bowing immediately

"Alex's secretary has been chosen, tell her all she needs to know, that's all for today" I said and stood up

"And try to dress more classy, you aren't begging for food" I said rolling my eyeballs at the lady before leaving for my fiance's office

"Honey" I beamed as I walked inside

"Hmm, how are you doing??" He asked with his eyes fixed on his laptop

"I'm good, " I replied and sat on his lap. He smiled at me and pecked my cheeks, I grumbled and he pecked my lips instead.

"Where's my secretary?" He asked and I scoffed

"I sacked her this morning" I replied..

"Not again Hannah, what did she do" he asked

"She's beginning to act sassy and sultry" I replied

ALEX

"Stop it babe, she's okay and doing her duties" I said slightly pissed off.

"I can't sit back and watch her try to seduce you, or do you like how she unbuttoned her top for you to stare?" Hannah asked

"None of that is true babe, you're just being paranoid" I sighed

"I know what I'm saying, well expect a new secretary tomorrow, this one is a nerd and I'm sure she wouldn't try to seduce you like the rest" Hannah said and I shook my head before continuing what I was doing.

Hannah is my girlfriend and we are already engaged though it was an arranged marriage but we actually liked each other and agreed to get married next year

Hannah is the most obsessed and petty girlfriend I have ever seen. She has sacked almost twenty secretaries just because she thinks they are trying to seduce me.

I know I'm a cute guy and I don't like to cheat so Hannah is the only one I love and I won't do anything to hurt her but she makes me angry at times.

I hope this new secretary lasts for a month because that's the highest my secretaries have ever worked.

"What are you thinking about?" She asked

"Nothing" I replied

"I'm sorry babe, I don't want to lose you" She pouted

"You aren't going to lose me, just trust me okay" I said and kissed her nose.

(KIMBERLY)

I went back home happily, Mark showed me my office and other important things I would need and use while working with President Alex

Mum was very excited about the news of my Job and I began my preparation to resume work tomorrow. I walked to my wardrobe and took a black skirt and pink top, that's what I would be wearing to work tomorrow.

I walked to the ironing table and Mark's words replayed in my head.

"Stay away from the President if you want to work more than a month" Mark said

"Why, I am going to become his secretary ..."

"You've been warned" He said and walked away. I shook my head and continued ironing my clothes.

ALEX

I walked inside the house tiredly and fell on the sofa with a huge sigh.

Someone laughed from behind and I knew it was that annoying sister of mine

"Don't tell me you're tired of the company already" She laughed and sat beside me

"I didn't say that" I rolled my eyeballs and she laughed again

"Being a president of one of dad's company isn't an easy job, I'm glad it's just the school I'm handling" Ariana said

"That's because you're a girl," I replied. I knew the statement pissed her off. She hates it when someone says girls aren't powerful.

"What does being a girl have to do with this, a girl can be more successful than a guy, okay" She yelled and I just laughed

"I'll report you to dad when he comes back" She hissed and walked upstairs. I shook my head and dragged myself upstairs too.

Ariana is my kid sister and I love her so much even if she's annoying. My parents got divorced when she was three.

Dad owns a lot of companies and he gave me one to handle (Silver Tech World) while he gave the school to Ariana and he took care of the rest himself.

ARIANA

"Dad" I called

"Yes darling," He replied, chewing his meat.

"Alex said I ....."

"Oh dear, Ariana, someone would be joining us for dinner tonight. I almost forgot about it" Dad said and I sighed. He will never listen to anything I have to say about his dear son

"Who's that" Alex asked

"It's the son of one of my business partners, his dad and I discussed about something" Dad replied smiling

"Really, what could that be " I asked

"I want you guys to know each other and maybe get married" Dad said and I frowned

"Get married, Ariana is still young, she's just eighteen" Alex shouted

"Alex, it's for the progress of the Family" Dad replied

"But Dad I don't want to get married" I protested

"Don't worry daughter, you'll like him, he's cute" Dad winked at me

"Unbelievable"Alex murmured and went to his room.

HANNAH

"Hey baby" I pouted

"Love, how are you doing?" Alex asked

"I am good, you don't sound happy" I said, noticing the anger in his voice.

"I can't be happy when my dad is about to sell his daughter" Alex replied

"Are you talking about Ariana"

"Yes, my dad wants to hook her up with the son of his business partner, Ariana is still young" Alex said

"Hmm, and what did she say?"

"What can she say, she always obeys my dad " Alex chuckled

"Don't get so worked up over that, Ariana can make decisions for herself, I'm sure she knows what to do" I said

"Alright, so what did my baby eat for dinner" He asked and I laughed

"I just took some cookies and juice, I don't feel like cooking"

"But there are maids"

"Yes Hun, I don't want to eat their food" I replied

ARIANA

It was almost time for dinner and I'm beginning to feel nervous. I used my hand to smoothen my hair and applied a little gloss to my lips.

Why am I even doing all this, what if I don't like him. Well, I would do anything to make my dad pleased with me.

I walked downstairs and met dad in the sitting room. "Wow, you look elegant" Dad complimented

"Thanks Dad" I blushed

"I think he will be here soon" Dad said and we heard the doorbell ring. A maid ran to the door and a cool and handsome guy walked in

"Good evening, Mr Silver" He greeted bowing slightly

"You're welcome son," Dad said, patting his back gently.

"Jeffrey, this is Ariana, my daughter," Dad said, pointing at me.

"Hi" he waved

"Hi" I waved back too. Dad smiled and we moved to the dining table for dinner

KIMBERLY

"Who's that?" I yelled, rushing out of the kitchen.

I opened the door and saw the fat and annoying landlady.

"Good evening ma'am" I greeted

"If only you pay me money the way you greet , I would have been happy" She said and I scoffed

"What do you want?" I asked

"Oh, it seems like you have forgotten, I came for my rent "She said

"Errrm, the rent just expired yesterday, right" I asked

"Yes I know, and I'm giving you a month to pay the new one" She said

"Alright, landlady" I replied

"Good" She hissed and walked out. I sighed and closed the door.

"What does she want again?" Mum asked

"Rent as usual" I replied and sat beside Mum.

"What are we going to do now"

"I'll pay, thank God I got a job" I smiled

"Huh, you can't pay everything with your salary" Mum said

"It would be enough, I will still have some money to pay for Cade's fees and yours" U chuckled and walked to the kitchen to continue washing the dishes.

"Kim, you're phone is ringing" Mum said

"Jeez, can't I work in peace" I yelled

"It's Melody " I quickly dried my hand with a towel before rushed out.

"Hello" I said

"Kim, Cade refused to eat dinner" Melody said

"Why is he sick?" I asked

"No, just talk to him" She said and passed him the phone

"Momma"

"Cade, why did you refuse to eat dinner?"

"I want to see you momma, I want to stay with you" he pouted

"No Cade, stay with Aunt Melody" I said

"But... momma "

"Cade, please eat your food, I promise to visit you during the weekend" I said and he was silent

"Can you hear me, I'll get you a toy car on my way, okay"

"Yes momma. I miss you" He said

"I miss you too, bye" I said and hung up. I took in a deep breath and dropped the phone

"I think it's time for you to have a rethink and let him stay with us" Mum said

"No mum, he'll be fine with Melody" I replied

"He is your son, not her's" Mum yelled

"I know he's my son, so let me make any decision about him the way I want to" I shot back and walked to my room angrily.

ARIANA

"Thanks for coming" I said and Jeffrey smiled

"My pleasure, you look elegant" He said and I laughed

"You don't look bad either" I said

"Can I have your number, maybe we can chat or .."

"Sure, no problem" I said and gave him my digits

"Thanks, see you next time" He said and entered his car.

"Woah, I never thought he would be this nice and cool" I smiled as I laid on my bed. Jeffrey is a cool and cheerful guy, maybe I could consider him. I learnt he studied abroad and he's back to manage his dad's company.

I know Alex is angry because I knocked on his door and he refused to open up. I'll talk to him tomorrow

ARIANA

"Good morning Alex, I'm ready for school" I said knocking on his door

"Alright, I'll be downstairs soon," Alex replied. His voice was sounding grumpy, is he still in bed?

I walked back downstairs and ate my dinner. Thirty minutes passed and he was yet to come.

"Alex, I'm getting late for Christ sake" I yelled.

"If you can't wait then go to school." He replied, rolling his eyes.He walked past me to the refrigerator and took a bottle of water.

I ignored him and walked outside to wait for the car.

"Alex, Jeffrey is a cool guy" I said

"Is that what you think?" He replied

"Yeah, I'm not going to get married to him immediately, we can start by being friends" I said

"Alright just know that if he hurts you, I will not take it easy on him" Alex warned

"Thanks bro, you're the best" I pouted and hugged him.

Thirty minutes later, we arrived at my school. I got down from the car and walked to my class. Alex drop me at school every day before going to work.

I prefer riding with him than the other drivers. He's fun and I'm so glad to have him as a brother.

Most girls in my school are crushing on him and they try to befriend me so that they can get access to him but I just laugh because I know that's not possible.

KIMBERLY

"This is your first day at work, please be careful , immediately the boss arrives, take his briefcase and clean his chair, before you serve him his coffee." Mark instructed

"But I'm not his P.A" I grumbled

"You talk to much, let's see if you will spend a day here without getting fired" Mark hissed

"Alright, let's see, " I said and walked to my office.

My office was in the same room as his. But mine was at the end of the room with a table, chair, printer and other work equipment.

I sat down on my seat and waited patiently for him to come. I checked the wall clock, it was past ten, any reasonable boss would have been at work by now.

I don't blame him though, he is rich....

I was still thinking and I didn't notice he was already in the office.

"The new secretary I guess" His voice echoed in the room and my phone fell from my hand in shock.

"Good morning Sir" I greeted bowing politely.

"Morning" He replied and sat on his chair, oh I was supposed to clean that

I quickly rushed to the coffee machine and brewed his coffee.

"Coffee sir" I said

"Oh thanks, drop it on the table" He replied and I did as I was told

"Help me type this documents and send it to the email address on this paper" He said and I bowed

HANNAH

"Hey, stop being idle, do something" I yelled at the sale's girl

"Ok ma'm " She replied and took a rat to clean the windows

"Good" I said and looked at my wrist watch

"Oh God, I can't wait for lunch" I giggled.

Alex and I don't work in the same place. He opened a boutique for me and I'm making a lot of money from it.

"I can't eat lunch alone, I'll need to call Alex so that we can eat lunch together."

ARIANA

"Hello Jeff" I whispered

"Ariana, how are you doing?"

"I'm fine, why would you call me now, I'm in school" I said

"Oh sorry about that, I just wanted to tell you that I will be picking you up when you close" He said

"Oh, you don't need to bother" I said

"I wanted us to have lunch together" Jeffrey said

"Alright, see you then, bye" I quickly ended the call when I saw Julia and Sonia coming.

Julia and Sonia are my best friends.

"Ari, what are you doing there?" Julia asked

"Nothing, I just..." I stuttered

"You were??"

"Let's go to the library"I smiled

"Alright" They chorused and we walked towards the library. My heart was beating fast, I didn't want them to know I would be getting married soon, I don't know how they are going to react to the news.

ALEX

My phone was ringing non stop but I didn't want to pick it up. I knew it was Hannah, I had a lot of work to do so I'll talk to her later.

"Sir, your phone is ...." The secretary said

"Yeah, I'll talk to her later" I said

"Maybe it's something urgent" She replied

"Hannah has nothing serious to say" I replied

"You should just..."

"Alright" I sighed and picked up the phone.

"See, she has nothing serious to say, she's bringing lunch for me" I said

"That's because she cares"

"Errrm, sorry what's your name?" I asked

"Kimberly Taylor"

"Oh, Kim" I smiled and continued my work. Funny enough, I didn't know the name of my secretary all thanks to my obsessed girlfriend.

MELODY

"Cade, lunch is ready" I said

"I don't want to eat" He replied

"Common Cade, I spent a lot of time preparing this, it's your favorite, " I said, putting an arm on his shoulder.

"When will mum come?" he asked with teary eyes.

"Mum will come tomorrow okay, she'll get plenty of toys for you" I smiled

"Okay" he said and I kissed his cheek

"Now come and eat. Fried eggs and plantain" I said tickling him

"No stop, it's enough" He said laughing and running while I chased him.

Cade is a sweet little boy, he makes me happy even if he isn't my son. I don't know why Kimberly refuse to let him live with her. I have tried to talk to her countless times but she won't listen, her mind is already made up

KIMBERLY

"Oh, I'm famished" I yawned as I sat on the sofa.

"How was work today?" Mum asked

"Fine mum" I replied and walked to the kitchen but there was no food.

"Mum, there's no food" I said

"Yeah, I'm tired of cooking for you, I want to cook for my grandson" Mum said

"Not again mum" I said and walked to my room to avoid an argument.

I sat on my bed and went through Cade's picture in my phone and tears streamed down my face.

"Cade, I want you here with me , but you will only add to my pains" I said and wiped my eyes with my handkerchief.

KIMBERLY

My phone began to ring and I looked at it. It was dad calling

"Hello, dad" I said

"Kimberly, are you okay?" Dad asked. That was my dad for you. He always knew when I was sad or happy from the sound of my voice.

"It's about Cade" I sniffed

"Kim, I know you're having a tough time but please think carefully before you make any decisions" Dad said

"Thank you Dad" I smiled

"How about the job you went for"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, I got the job" I said and Dad laughed

"That's my girl" He said

We talked for almost thirty minutes before I went to bed.

I miss my dad so much even though we are not in the same house. My dad and Mum divorced a few years ago but I can still visit him anytime I want to.

ARIANNA

"Ari, who's this cute guy" Sonia gushed

"Oh my gee, he's hot," Julia said, snatching my phone from my hand. I watched them gush over Jeffrey without uttering a word

"Can you give me my phone now??"

"We aren't giving you unless you tell us who he is" Julia said

"He's my friend" I replied

"Are you sure or there's nothing else " Sonia smiled

"No, we're just friends" I said

"Alright... enough of the pressing, let's do what we are here for" Julia said and dropped my phone on the table before coming to join Sonia and I on the bed.

We have a test tomorrow so they came to read and also spend the night at my place.

HANNAH

I stared at my face in the mirror and giggled. It's spotless and that's how I want it to be.

I have always dreamt of the day I would be standing beside Alex in my white wedding gown.

"Jeez, I can't wait" I laughed and my phone beeped

I stretched my hand and picked it up.

"Hey, Hannah, it's me Paxton, you remember" I read and bit my lips trying to remember. I checked the profile picture and gasped

Woah, Paxton just messaged me.

I quickly typed back my reply.

Paxton is my high school crush and he moved to France to further his education. We lost contact and now he's messaging me.

FEW DAYS LATER

KIMBERLY

It was Saturday and I needed to go and visit Cade as I promised. Working with Alex wasn't as difficult as I thought.

He's always on his laptop and phone and he only calls me when he needs my attention.

But the problem was his girlfriend, anytime she comes to the office she always gives me suspicious glares and asks unnecessary questions.

Ugggh, I hate it when she does that. She has a cool and rich boyfriend. I wonder why she's so problematic.

I dressed up and went to the mall for a little shopping, I got some new clothes, chocolates and toys for Cade.

MELODY

I smiled as I watched Cade move around the sitting room anxiously.

"Cade, your mum will be here soon" I said

"I know, I want to be the first to welcome her when she comes" He smiled

"Awwwn, I wish I had a mum too " I laughed

"Your mum isn't as beautiful as mine, my mum is the best" Cade said and I nodded. I won't argue with him. Kimberly is truly beautiful in heart and face but the birth of Cade changed everything.

She turned from a lively and jovial person to a secluded and humorless lady.

"Aunt melody, I heard a knock on the door, is that mum?" Cade asked

"I think so, go and check" I replied and he rushed to the door.

ALEX

I checked my wrist watch, it was past two in the afternoon. Hannah is supposed to be here by now.

I tried calling her but couldn't get through. I sighed and continued playing my PS game.

Saturday is a free day so I play games at home and go out for lunch with Hannah and sometimes we go to the beach or shopping.

KIMBERLY

I knocked on the door and it opened slowly.

"Mum" Cade called and hugged me tightly

"My baby" I cooed and kissed his hair

"I miss you mummy" He said

"I miss you too" I replied and kissed his cheek.

I carried him in my arms and walked inside the house

"Hey Kim" Melody smiled and hugged me.

"How are you doing" I asked

"We're good " She laughed and we sat on the couch.

"Mum, are you going back today?" Cade asked

"Cade, I bought you chocolates, toy's and new clothes" I said and gave him the bag

"Wow, thanks Mum" he said and pecked my cheeks

"Cade, can you take them to your room, I want to talk with mummy" Melody asked and he nodded, dragging the bag with him and laughing.

"How's your work?" Melody asked

"Fine, not as stressful as I thought" I replied and we laughed

"Thank you for taking care of Cade" I said

"He's just like my son too, but the poor boy misses you so much" Melody said

"I know, but I can't let him stay with me for now" I said and she nodded

"I understand how you feel, how's mum" she asked

"Mum's good, always pestering me" I replied and we laughed

"Cade's inhaler got finished last night" melody said and my heart skipped a beat.

"Don't worry, I already ordered a new one from the hospital" Melody said and I hugged her.

"Thank you so much" I said crying

"Don't cry, it's gonna be fine" She said, rubbing my back.

Cade is an asthmatic child and that's one of the reasons I don't want him to stay with me. I would panic anytime his attacks started.

I stayed till evening and we had a lot of fun, playing and I helped him with his assignments. I prepared dinner and we ate then I made sure her slept before I leave because he won't let me go that easily

"Take care Kimberly" Melody said

"Yes I will" I replied

"Try to smile more, you aren't carrying the world's problem on your shoulders" melody advised

"I will, bye thanks for taking care of him" I said and she smiled

"I will always do anything for you Kim" She replied and I boarded a cab to take me home.

Melody and I have been best friends since high school and our friendship continued up till now. She's the one who helped me when I was hurt and going through a lot. I will forever be grateful to her.

PAXTON POV

"Thank you for coming once again" I said with a smile

"Common, we both had fun. It's nice spending time with you after all these years" Hannah replied and I nodded

"Yeah"

"Are you back here or you would be going back" Hannah asked

"I am here to continue my dad's business" He replied

"Wow, that's nice" Hannah laughed

"You look great, maybe you could model for us" I said and she smiled

"I know you're joking right" She chuckled

"I'm damn serious, you can think about it" I replied and she nodded

ARIANA

8:00PM ⏰

I heard a knock on my door, I paused the movie I was watching on my laptop

"Who's that" I asked

"Hope you're fully clothed" Alex asked opening the door

"Hmph, what are you doing here" I asked

"I came to spend time with my kid sister" He winked and I scoffed

"Where's your clingy girlfriend, the both of you would have been oppressing me by now"

"I've been trying to call her since morning, I think she's busy " Alex replied and I shrugged

"Alright, let's play ludo since you're bored," I said, closing my laptop.

"Okay, imy definitely winning today" Alex smirked and I laughed

"Dream on," I said, putting the board on the table. His phone began to ring and he looked at the screen

"Oh, it's Hannah," he said standing up.

"Where are you going?" I asked

"I'll be right back" Alex said

"I am your sister, I own you too" I yelled angrily as he walked out of the room to meet his girlfriend.

I hissed and continued watching my movie.

ALEX

"Babe" Hannah giggled and hugged me.

"Seriously?" I asked

"I'm sorry, I had a lot if work to do" She pouted

"You should have called, I tried calling but it was switched off" I said

"I'm so sorry, let's go inside, I have something to tell you" She smiled and I carried her in my arms.

"So what's making you this excited" I asked

"Guess" she laughed

"Nooo, just tell me" I refused to punch her cheeks.

"Do you remember Paxton" She asked and I bit my lips

"Paxton?" I asked

"Yeah, do you remember?" She smiled. I bit my lips trying to remember, the name sounds familiar

"Your high school crush" I blurted

"Yeah, he returned back to the country and we had lunch together, it was fun being with him" She laughed and I started at her

"What's wrong, you don't look happy?" She asked touching my face

I removed her hand and walked out of the room.

KIMBERLY

I smiled as I looked at the pictures I took with Cade. He looks so cute and adorable.

"I love you my little pumpkin pie" I chuckled

"You should be sleeping by now" mum said

"Yes, I'm not feeling sleepy" I replied and she sat beside me on the bed. She looked at my phone and smiled

"I think it's time you put everything behind you and start a new life" Mum said

"I already did that" I replied

"I don't think so, you're still single and bored at home"

"Mum, I didn't tell you that I was bored" I laughed

"Really, how do you feel staying from morning to evening without any love text or calls, such life is boring" Mum said

"I'm okay mum, I don't need a man, you and Cade are enough for me" I replied

"Well, Cade won't be my only grandson, so I'll advise you to start looking for a boyfriend or I'll get one for you" Mum said

"Common mum" I laughed

"I am serious" She replied

"Okay, I will," I chuckled and hugged her.

ALEX

I stood outside my room staring at the starless sky. The news about Paxton really affected me.

He was Hannah's crush in school and I think they dated for sometime before breaking up. We were classmates and I recalled how Paxton and I fought several times because of her.

Now we're adults, I don't want all that happening again. I was waiting for her while she was outside having lunch with another guy.

I felt someone hug me from behind.

"Sweetheart, I am sorry" Hannah whispered

"It's fine, I don't want what happened those years to repeat itself " I said facing her.

"No baby, we are all grown up now besides I'm your fiancee and I think Paxton already has a lady he likes " Hannah smiled

"Alright, I missed you so much" I said tucking her hair behind her ears and leaning forward for a kiss

"Me too" She chuckled and I pressed my lips on hers.

JEFFREY

"Hey, are you asleep already?" I asked

"No, just watching a movie " Ariana replied

"Boring, come outside, I'm waiting for you" I said

"Huh??"

"Yeah, I am outside your gate" I said

"Okay.... I'll be there soon" She stuttered and I hung up.

I smiled and inhaled the flower in my hand.

"Perfect" I grinned

"What are you doing here by this time?" She asked as she walked closer to me

"I came to see you" I replied

"Don't you think it's too late" She asked looking round

"It's just 9pm, you look good" I smiled. She was wearing a hoodie and jeans

"What's in your hand"

"Oh, it's for you" I replied and gave her the flower

"Wow, thank you" She cooed and hugged me.

"You love flowers, right?" I asked and she nodded

"Don't worry, I'll get you as many as you can imagine" I said and she laughed

"So what are we doing now?" Ariana asked

"Late night drive" I winked and opened the car

"My brother, I didn't tell him I was going somewhere" She said

"Don't worry, we won't stay long" I replied and she entered the car.

ARIANA

I smiled as I leaned on the headrest enjoying the drive with Jeffrey. Thishad always been on my to do list when I had a boyfriend and I can't believe it's happening now.

He stopped at an ice cream spot on the road and we had ice cream before driving back home. Luckily, Alex was already in his room but dad was watching the late night news but had dozed off on the sofa.

I smiled and went to the room to fetch the blanket. I covered him with it and went back to my room.

KIMBERLY

The weekend went fast and Monday was here again. I stared at my watch again, I was getting late and there's no taxi on the road I had to keep walking till I got tired of walking

"Oh no, I'm very late" I cried as I ran.

I heard a car horn behind me but I ignored it and continued running. The car was still coming after me so I had to stop

"What the f*CK is wrong with you, can't you see I'm late for work" I yelled and the window rolled down slowly

"Huh?" I gasped as I saw My boss looking at me.

"Good morning Boss" I greeted bowing

"What are you doing here, you're supposed to be in the office by now? '' he asked, staring at me. I was already sweating and trying to catch my breath.

"There's no taxi" I replied

"Hop in" he ordered

"Sir??" I asked pretending not to hear him clearly

"I'll count to two and if...."

I quickly rushed inside the car and sat down.

OFFICE

"Thank you sir" I said dropping his coffee on the table

"Next time wake up early to get the first bus, I won't forgive you if you want come late again" He said

"Okay, I actually woke up early but .."

"Go and continue your work" He replied and I rolled my eyes before going to my seat.

I was about to sit down when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" I said and Mark walked in. He greeted Alex who just nodded and walked to my desk

"Miss Hannah wants to see you" He said and my eyes widened

"Why" I whispered

"You have a second to appear before her" he said and I jumped out of my seat.

HANNAH

"I am going to teach that little b*tch a lesson today" I gritted

I saw her walking timidly behind Mark.

"She's here ma'm" Mark said and left

"Good morning miss....."

"Slap"

I shut her up with a slap. She gasped and held her cheek.

"What did I do" She asked

"You still have the nerves to ask me what you did huh??" I yelled and she moved back

"How did you come to work today?" I asked

"In the boss Car" Kimberly replied and I fisted my hands angrily

"So it's true, how dare you" She yelled

"I am sorry" She apologized

"F*CK you, just get out" I yelled and she walked out.

ALEX

Kimberly returned to the office looking gloomy. Her face was red and had the mark of someone's finger on them like she was slapped

"Kim, what's wrong" I asked and she smiled

"Nothing sir" She replied

"Are you sure?" I asked again and she nodded and sat on her seat.

I stared at her for the last time and faced my laptop.

The door burst open and Hannah walked inside.

"Babe" She pouted

"At least knock, this is my office" I said

"Really, you've never complained about me not knocking, or is there something going on" she asked staring at Kim

"Stop it, what are you doing here, you're supposed to be at your boutique" I asked

"Yeah, I needed to deal with something important here" she smirked

"What's that"

"It's done already, don't worry, here's your lunch, bye" she pecked my lips and walked out

MELODY

"Don't tell me you didn't slap her back" I yelled on the door

"I would have been fired if I did that" Kimberly said

"And so?, The boss only offered you a ride to the office, you did nothing wrong" I said

"It's okay, she's just being jealous" Kimberly chuckled

"You're too cool Kimberly, next time show her you learnt karate" I huffed

"Lol, I only learnt that for self defense, she might die if I use it on her" Kimberly replied and I laughed

"Well, I just wanted to tell you that I met this cute guy and we're going on the date tonight" I giggled

"Wow that's awesome" Kimberly replied

"I'll be taking Cade and I'll send you the pictures" I said

"You don't have to take him, you can drop him at your neighbors place" Kim said

"Nope, he's my baby and I'm taking him along"

ARIANA

"Bye babe, I'll miss you" Jeffrey pouted and I smiled before hugging him.

"Ariana" He called and I looked at him

"Please let me kiss you" He pouted and my cheeks flushed

"No...I haven't done that before. It's not something to be shy about, I am your boyfriend" He said and I sighed

"Please" He pouted and I nodded. He smiled and pressed his lips on mine.

My first kiss, I am so glad that I gave it to the person I love.

The door burst open and we heard screams.

I quickly pushed him away from me and turned. It was Julia and Sonia

"Wtf is going on here" Julia asked

"I will call you later babe" Jeffrey whispered and left

My friends stared at him with wide eyes till he was out of the room.

"Who is he??" Sonia asked and I gulped

"Don't even think of lying" Julia added and I played with my fingers nervously

"He's my boyfriend" I replied

"Your boyfriend???"

"How long have you been dating him?"

"We promised never to hide anything from each other?"

"You betrayed us"

I bit my lips as they bombarded me with questions

"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to keep it as a secret, I wasn't sure how you guys would react to the news" I said

"Ariana, we are your friends and we would be happy for you" Sonia said

"Yes, we can't dictate what you should do with your life" Julia said

"I am sorry, we just started dating" I replied

"Awwwn, we're sorry for interrupting that steamy thing going on" Sonia winked and I blushed

"He's cute though, is he rich" Julia asked

"Yeah, he's a graduate and the C.E.O of his dad's company" I replied

"Wow, you're lucky girl" Soniaesaid and hugged me

"Thank you" I smiled
