Chapter 1
Mr. Viraj Singhania was lying on the bed with several tubes connected to his body...his face held a peaceful expression as the morning light penetrated the window glass and fell on his face
The beeping sound of the several machines inside the room drowning out the chirps of the birds... while at the corner of the room sat Daksh Singhania with a file on his hand, reviewing...
Sudden sound of coughing broke his concentration causing him to look at the bed where his grandfather was lying as he rose from the seat he previously sat at and poured water on the glass and went to his grandfather and helped him recline before assisting him to drink the water

After drinking the water, Daksh again helped his grandfather to lie down as his grandfather grabbed his hand and told him, to sit beside him

I am very happy to have you as my grandson...I really want to spend my last moments with you

He said as he kissed his grandfather's forehead and went towards the door as he opened it
After getting out of the room and closing the door behind he looked up and saw Atharv standing few steps away from the room
As they made eye contact, Daksh signalled him to follow as they got out of the building and went towards their car
Atharv sat at the driver's seat while Daksh sat on the passenger seat as he started the engine and drove away leaving the hospital premise

Daksh said as he rubbed his face with his palm
Atharv also called Viraj Grandpa as he grew up in the mansion with Daksh ...after completing his studies under Daksh's Grandfather's assistance he joined the company as Daksh's bodyguard

They talked as they reached the office and both of them got out of the car
Daksh went towards the entry of the office building while Atharv went to the parking lot to park the car
It was already evening and Daksh was still signing away some files. After signing up the last file he called his secretary

With this Aanya left the cabin and after few minutes Daksh also left after checking everything and went downstairs where Atharv was waiting for him
He sat inside the car as Atharv drove away towards the Hospital where Mr. Viraj was admitted
The door of the private ward opened as Daksh and Atharv went inside and saw Mr. Vijay looking out of the window towards the streetlight
The street was filled with people elderly, child, couple, family all enjoying and bustling noise

O, Daksh and you too Atharv come, come
They all went and sat down and started chatting. After few minutes the doctor came inside who was appointed to treat Mr. Viraj...as usual he checked everything and wrote it down in the file which was in his hand
After analyzing everything doctor kept the report down and looked towards Mr.Viraj then to Daksh

Mr. Daksh, can I have a word with you?

yeah sure
Doctor
Then please follow me
They both got out of the room and went to the doctor's chamber
They both pulled out their respective chair, and sat down and then the doctor looked at Daksh with a solemn expression

Is it anything serious doctor?
Doctor
Yes. As you can see Mr. Viraj's health is showing no improvement and slowly his body has started to reject the treatment... I am afraid, Mr.Viraj has not much time left to live
The words uttered by the doctor gave a heavy blow to Daksh

Again it gave a shock to Daksh

Daksh felt utterly numb as he was not able to utter any words and also stumbled while dismounting the chair and with numb leg went towards the door and left
Chapter 2
Reaching at the door of the private ward, Daksh stopped and tried to grow a smile on his face as not to make his grandfather worried
With a shaking hand he twisted the door knob and the door clicked open making them aware of Daksh's presence
But the smile he tried to hold, vanished as he looked at his grandfather's pale complexion and a drop of tear rolled down his face, which made the people present in the room worried
Daksh without thinking anything ran to his grandfather and hugged him like his life was dependent on it

What did the doctor say?
Mr.Viraj asked, but Daksh wasn't able to utter any words only tears came out as it rolled down his face and dropped on his grandpa's shoulder

His Grandfather again asked but still got no reply as Daksh's heart was hurting so much, thinking about his grandfather who have not much time left

Daksh looked at his grandfather as more tears spilled
Mr.Viraj sighed. He himself knew that he doesn't have much time left but still knowing it from the doctor made him feel sad... He, too, has to leave like Daksh's parents leaving him completely alone
Then Mr.Viraj's eyes travelled to Atharv who was sitting not far away having a shocked and painful expression on his face
Then Mr.Viraj thought of something as he looked between Daksh and Atharv and smiled slightly.

Atharv, come here
Atharv went towards him with a solemn expression and took a seat beside Mr. Viraj on the bed. Mr. Viraj grabbed his hand and looked towards Daksh who was looking down as tears were flowing uncontrollably

Daksh and Atharv, will you fulfill my last wish?
Viraj Alvarez
Daksh has no one after me and Atharv you too... I will be sad knowing that after my death there will be no one to take care of you two...so it is my request and last wish that you two...

Daksh and Atharv looked at Viraj with a shocked expression while Mr. Viraj continued

I will be happy knowing that you two will be there to support each other and take care of one another, so I can die in peace
Atharv and Daksh was unable to say anything to Mr.Viraj's request as they blankly stared at Mr. Viraj
After few minutes they came out of their trance. They both tried to refuse, but no words came out of their mouth. They were not able to say no to Mr. Viraj as it was his last wish. They didn't want to hurt the feelings of the soon to die old man
Daksh and Atharv looked at each other as like they were communicating with their eyes. Then after few minutes...

Grandpa let us think through it, and we will discuss it tomorrow

Yes Grandpa. Please rest. We will talk tomorrow

Saying this the two got up. Daksh helped his grandfather to lie down while Atharv pulled up the duvet above Mr. Viraj

Please rest Grandpa. We will come tomorrow. Good night

Saying this the two left after switching off the lights in the ward and left
Daksh and Atharv sat across each other. They both were in a deep thought. After sometimes they looked at each other

I don't know. I can't refuse it as it is Grandpa's last wish but...

Atharv let out a huff and reclined on the sofa
Daksh thought for sometimes and then looked at Atharv.

Ok then. Let's do one thing. Let's get married now, and then we will divorce after one year in the name of no compatibility. What's say?

Ok let's do this. Then in this way we can fulfill Grandpa's wish

Ok. Then it is settled. I am going to my room. Good night
Saying this Daksh got up and left and after a few minutes Atharv too got up and left. But that night both of them were not able to get a wink of sleep. Thinking about what to come they twisted and turned on the bed but to no avail got up like a dead in the morning and got freshen up and went to the hospital to let their Grandpa know about their decision
