It was stormy night, I was by the window watching the humans leave their workplace to head home. Some of them wore depressed faces, while others remained a straight face.

  I turned to the clock and realised it was almost time mother would return home from work. I waited by the door after I had left my sitting spot just now.

  I heard the downstairs neighbour talk loudly as usual but mother still didn't come home, I waited and waited. After a while, I fell asleep, unaware that hours passed by.

  But then sudden sounds awoke me from my slumber: 'tock tock' , then followed by a deep voice: 'Miss Orthelew, are you there?' asked the person which I was sure was the police.The man then asked again 'Is there anyone there?'

  At this rate, I quickly hid behind my cat tower that mother bought for me as a birthday gift. After a while, the officer then proceeded to break open the door using a hammer.

  Suddenly, a familiar yet soothing voice yelled out to them, 'Wait! My cat is in there, you might scare him!' . It was mother, she had came home just in time.

  She immediately unlocked the door using her key. Then, the door opened and mother. I jumped onto mother's leg, seeking her comfort as I rubbed my face between her legs.

  The officers apologised to mother before asking for her permission to interview her. They asked about the murder cases that were going around the neighbourhood these few days.

  Mother's reply was simple and fast as she was already tired and frustrated. She said she didn't know anything about the cases and denied all of them.

  After all the officers left, she turned to look at me happily and said: 'James, are you hungry? Let's get you your food after, OK?' , I eagerly awaited for my meal to be served by the dinner table as usual, unaware of the blood splatters of the last victim on my own furry tail......

  She turned towards me while passing through the dinner table as she was going to place my food bowl on the ground. 'James, why is there blood on your tail? Are you hurt, dear?' , she asked worriedly.

  She tried to inspect my tail but I hurriedly ran away. Mother kept calling for me but I didn't come to her. I hid in the curtains near the coffee table, I saw a stationary knife and decided to cut my own tail.

  Mother was horrified after finding me in that state. She quickly took me to the veterinary clinic and they checked my tail and bandaged it up. They said mother should not worry as it was only a small cut......

  'Hmm, so boring. I thought it would be more fun as a cat. I guess it's just a while until mother would suspect me as the murderer. ' ,I thought when I was heading home with mother.

Well to sum it up, I'm a cat that lives rent - free with my owner. My name is James Orthelew. I was never a cat anyway, I had a second chance in life after I had reincarnated. I died by two shots in the back by an officer while I was caught assassinating a mafia leader.Yes, I was an assassin in my past life.

The information I got about cats in this era are quite a handful. I've been paid by other cats to assassinate their owners which means I'm not alone in this world. Two, there are secret underground bars that only cats know of. Three, money isn't the same in the cat world, we use coins.

That's all the information I've collected by being in this world of cats.

 Life had been easy and smooth, mother would give me catnip (Nepeta Cataria) if I did the tricks she taught me. She had been given a raise and had been promoted from part timer to full-time staff. That would mean she could spend more time with me.

  One day, she met a guy, that same person was my next target. The man was named Benjamin Latchìovon. After mother had started meeting up with him, it had become incredibly difficult to murder him, and he had stolen the attention mother was supposed to give me.

   He had been seeing her on the weekend and mother has started to forget about me. She would often forget to feed me. So I had to do the deed, kill him and make mother forget about him. I might sound like a psychopath with crazy intentions but he might steal mother from me.

  And besides, he is my next target anyways. But he is difficult to murder so I'm going to have to devise a plan to kill him.

  First off, I would need to get the things needed to prepare to kill him. I thought for a while until finally deciding to go to the underground bars and meet up with some guy that I saved from a drunkard. His name is Kingsley Morrellay, a bartender working in the underground bars. He told me to go to the bar whenever I needed help.

  Next, I would need to know where he lives which I already know because I heard him say it to mother. He lives at Fordhold Apartment 344 at Lane 4. Then, lure him to an alleyway and disappear into the shadows. When he gets confused, take the time to stab his back 7 times because he had visited mother 7 times, and make sure that the knife is poisoned.

  After that, quickly dispose the body and stuff it in a trash bag before most of the blood escapes, this method ensures that the victim will suffer from suffocation while slowly dying a horrible death. Next, wash off the blood splatters as no evidence will be left. And pretty much all to the plan.

As you're probably wondering, what if I get caught and get arrested because I don't wear gloves. Well, to answer that question, I simply don't! Yes, a cats pawprint is quite similar to those of a human. But I will use a piece of cloth which is called microfiber cloth(a very fine synthetic yarn)to wrap my paws around. This way

I won't have to worry much about the police finding out.

Then finally mother won't have to worry about that leach anymore. Mother won't forget about me and cherish me and only me. I swear to disassemble the limbs, cut their tongue and scoop out their eyes before killing them. Then can I finally get all the attention I want if no one bothers her. I will even make her single if I need to, but if mother finds a man worthy of her presence......I might reconsider.
