"Colonel, Colonel the Commander wants to see you in his office. - Dave Wang said while calling Jasmine.

Okay, I will go now. Please take these reports to my office, and then check if there are new progress in the previous mission the commander handed to us. Jasmine then hurried to see the Commander.

Knock. Knock!.

Come in. - When she got in, Jasmine saluted to her Comander.

I am glad you are here now, Colonel Gu. Please review this case that we need to deal with right away. I will be sending you to A City and you will take over this mission from Hanford Han. I will give you three weeks to complete this task. I trust that you could do it.

Jasmine sighed. Commander, I am grateful that you trust my ability but I am afraid Hanford will take this against me. He has been dealing with this mission for awhile now and he has been making progress. She tried to reason out to the Commander because she knew in her heart that Hanford will fight her regarding the matter.

Jasmine, I know that Hanford has been competing with you but this task is very important. How long will we delay this matter just because he cannot deal with it right away. He's been handling this case for several months now, our higher ups has been questioning the slow progress. As we waste time, many young girls lives are also at risk. These syndicates has been roaming around freely and the number of missing girls has been going up.

Jasmine looked at the files the commander handed to her. There are many pictures of girls that she think were only 13 to 15 years old. These girls has been abducted by the group they are targeting now, and they are being sold to prostitution. She sighed. She knew already the main reason why she was given this task. The commander wants her to act and use her as a bait to lure the syndicate group.

Okay, Commander when will I leave for A City?

Tonight. I asked Dave to pack for you already. Said the commander.

She stood up and saluted again and head to the door when the commander called her again.

Child, I trust your ability to solve this matter. But I still want you to take care of yourself. I will tell your aunt that you will be gone for a while.

I will call her and inform her also. She then gave him a faint smile and left to head to her office.

It's been 8 years already since she started living with his family in J Country. The commander is her father's bestfriend. When her father died due to a car accident her mother followed due to heart attack. Her family's company was taken over by her uncle. She also lost their house. Then her life changed from then on. Ricky Xia - the commander, decided to take her in to their care. His wife, Mary Xia treated her as her own daughter. She was loved and accepted by this family. But she can't be at ease in her heart. She knew that there is something in her father's death. She started invistigating the matter and all the evidences are pointing to her uncle, Lyndon Gu, however until this time she has no power yet to strip him off his position and she needs to find the poeple involved in the matter.

Now that she is going back to the place where she grow up and suffer pain she can't help but feel anxious. What is waiting for her in that familiar yet strange City.

Jasmine Gu and her subordinate, Dave Wang boarded the helicopter to A City. She can't help thinking of her past. She was raised as a princess by her family. Showered with so much love and even with material things but it seems like everything that happened to her was just a dream that turned into a nightmare. Her uncle's family were really close to their family so she can't believe that he will betray her father. She remembered the day when their house was taken over by the bank, she didn't know where to go and decided to seek help from her uncle. But they turned a blind eye to her, she was even laughed at and criticized by her cousin, Samantha Gu. She can still remember clearly the insults thrown at her by Samantha. Growing up she treated her cousins, Samantha and Kevin, as her own siblings she didn't know the reason of Samantha's hatred.

Jasmine sighed thinking of the memories of the past that cut her heart open. Seems like until now her heart still bleeds because of what happened. She was treated like a stranger by the people she thought would help her.

In her reveree, David called her to inform her that they have arrived at the base in A City.

Colonel, the Major General is waiting for you. - David told her.

Her mood changed and a bright smile appeared into her face. She got excited all of a sudden. The Major General, Jacob Lin, is considered her bestfriend. They met at J Country Military Academy during their training and he stuck with her from then on. Jacob will sometimes visit her but it is her first time to visit him in A City. She never expect that she will be back to where she came from.

Cough! Cough!

Jasmine raised her head and saw Jacob standing in front of her. He shook his head because he knew that she is out of this world again thinking of so many things.

Jasmine hugged the man and patted his back. - How are you, Major General? Congratulations on your promotion. I think you should treat me tonight.

No problem, Jacob replied and he hugged her back. Welcome to A City. At last you're able to visit.

Well I didn't really expect a sudden visit here but it's the nature of our work. I should be mentally and emotionally prepared for everything. She sighed again. Her heart still feels heavy thinking of this place. She really can't stop thinking what awaits her here. And how is she going to face her relatives who abandoned her before.

As they head to the base they started to make a plan to go out for dinner to celebrate Jacob's promotion. Jasmine is now in the mood to drink because she really is happy that her friend got promoted.

When they reached the base, they went directly to the Commanders office and discuss some plans and the people they need for this mission. Jasmine knew already that she needs to pretend as a high school student, so the commander in A City need to arrange everything for her.

In Xu Group Building  -  Leonard Siy is facing the wrath of

his grandfather who keeps pestering him to get married as soon as possible. His

grandfather has been showing him photos of the ladies who belong to the upper

class in the society.

Grandpa – just give me more time. I am still young, I

am only 28, there’s no need for us to hurry.

You Brat! – his grandpa shouted.  I know you are still waiting for that girl.

She is not deserving to be part of our family. I will never accept her.

Grandpa , you must give Abby a chance. You broke us

apart before and I didn’t say anything to what you did but now she is coming

back, I want to pursue her again. She is the woman I want to marry.

She accepted the money I gave her, Leo. If she truly

loves you she will fight for it. 50 million is the worth of her love for you.  Don’t be naïve and blinded by her face because

it can sometimes hide the true colors of the heart. Boy, you are no longer

young if you want to continue being the CEO of this company , I want you to be

engage by the end of this year. You must listen to me and remember  that Abby will never be an option. Any woman

will do but not her.

Leo sighed.  I

understand, grandpa. Okay, you must leave now so I can continue my work.

You Brat! Are you trying to shoo me away? Sighed - young

people these days. Remember this year you should get married or you will lose

power over everything in this company.

Grandpa Xu stood up and left Leo alone in his office.

Leo massaged his throbbing temples and stood up in

front of his office window. It’s been 3 years. He has been waiting for Abby’s

return for 3 years. He can’t forget the time when Abby broke up with him for

the reason that she is not good enough for his family. She wants to become a

better and stronger person to be able to stand by his side. He didn’t know that

Abby accepted money from his family.  It’s

been 3 years. He learned from his private investigator that Abby will be back soon.

She became a successful musician, it was her dream. He can’t help but feel

happy for her success even if he wasn’t by her side when she reached it. Now he

is willing to fight for Abby but he needs to choose between her and his position.

Life is cruel. It has always been unfair. He doesn’t want to hurt Abby anymore.

He will never forget the tears she shed when she said goodbye to him.

Leo sighed. He reached for his phone and called his

friend Derek Xiao .

Hey! Mr. Xu , it’s a miracle that you called. Derek

teased him.

Let’s meet tonight at Midnight Blue Bar. Leo the hung

up on the phone without waiting for Derek’s reply.

Jasmine and Jacob arrived at the restaurant he booked

for them. It’s a famous Szechuan restaurant in the City. She used to go there

with her family when she was growing up. Oh, how she missed this place. It’s been

so long already from the last time she dined her.

Jacob pulled up a seat for her and he then sat opposite

her.

They talked and laughed while dining.

Let’s grab some drinks after this. – Jacob said. I

know the celebration won’t be complete without drinking.

Just don’t get me drunk. You know how horrible it is

when I get drunk.

They both laughed at what she said remembering

something from the past when Jasmine got drunk and beat people because she is

always on defense thinking she was getting attacked that time.

After the sumptuous dinner the two head to Midnight

Blue Bar.

They were teasing and laughing as they walked inside

the bar without noticing the man in front of them.

Jasmine was trying to grab Jacob on the neck when she

suddenly bump into something.  No, someone.

Leo, who stopped suddenly before reaching the entrance

of the bar to answer a call accidentally dropped his phone when somebody bumped

into him.

I’m sorry, sir. Jasmine bowed her head to apologize.

She then squatted down to pick up the phone and hand it over to the man.

Leo just looked at the woman in front of him without

accepting the phone she is handing. He is a little amazed looking at her. She is

beautiful - that’s the sum of all the words he could use to describe her.  Even without wearing a make up she is glowing.  Her deep set eyes seems to sparkle.

Cough! Cough! Ahem! – sir, here’s your phone. I’m

sorry for what happened. Jasmine apologized again. She then walked past the

dumbfounded Leo and got inside the bar with Jacob.

Gosh! I think I should keep you inside the base next

time. Jacob started to tease her. Look at that man’s face. He can’t take his

eyes off you.

Jasmine just shrugged her shoulder thinking about the

man she just bumped into. He looked a little familiar but she can’t remember where

she see him.
