Chapter 1: The Betrayal
Lieutenant Colonel James Mitchell surveyed the dimly lit room, his eyes scanning the faces of the elite military unit under his command. The mission had been compromised, and the tension hung in the air like a thick fog.
"Everyone, split into your corresponding groups and search for their leader," he barked, his voice cutting through the silence. The room erupted into a flurry of activity as soldiers donned their gear and headed in different directions.
"Yes, sir!" chorused the other military men, snapping to attention before dispersing into the shadows.
On the other side of the city, Agent 7 paced the room with a frown etched across his face. Eve, his trusted ally, could feel the anger radiating from him.
"Damn, who dared betray us?" Agent 7 growled, clenching his fists.
Eve, a seasoned operative with a calm demeanor, approached him. "Don't waste your time thinking about that yet. We have to escape," she urged, but before she could finish her sentence, a deafening explosion rocked the building, cutting through the night like thunder.
{Boom}
Dust and debris filled the air as the shockwave rattled the structure. Agent 7 and Eve instinctively ducked for cover. The chaos outside had escalated, sirens wailing in the distance.
MOMENTS LATER...
In the midst of the pandemonium, a reporter stood in City A, microphone in hand, reporting live.
"Right now, we are in City A, and the famed Rising Mafa house has been arrested," the reporter announced, the chaos of the unfolding events evident in the background.
The city, once peaceful, now buzzed with the aftermath of the explosion. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the military presence intensified. The Rising Mafia, a notorious criminal organization, had been the target of a covert operation gone awry.
Three days later, Eve awoke in bewilderment, grappling with memories of an explosion and a wave of pain that lingered in her thoughts. A sense of uncertainty enveloped her as she questioned her existence.
Eve: Where am I? Am I dead?
A radiant light emerged, accompanied by a splash, revealing an ethereal being.
Eve: Hey, who are you?
Angel: I am not a mere 'you.' I am the greatest being; humans call me Angel.
Eve, intrigued, questioned further.
Eve: Okay. Do you have answers for me?
Angel: You humans always have questions. You're here because you are dead. There was a hiccup in destiny – a premature demise caused by our youngest recruit. You've been granted a second chance.
Eve: A second chance? What does that entail?
Angel: You'll understand in due time. Now, off you go. Goodbye.
Eve, abruptly, was pulled down by a whirlpool force, finding herself in a different realm.
Eve: Now, where am I? (sigh)
In another dimension, a scene unfolded, blending the mystical with the earthly.
Doctor: Push harder.
Mrs. Dones: Uuuuh!! (screamed)
As the doctor worked diligently, a momentous revelation followed.
Doctor: I can now see the baby. Congratulations, it's a beautiful baby girl.
Eve tilted her head and let out a frustrated sigh as she sprawled out on the couch in the cozy living room. "I'm so bored," she complained, her voice laden with disappointment. "This body is too weak to even move."
The angel, sitting in the armchair nearby, raised an eyebrow. "Haven't I told you already to stop addressing me with that tone and voice?" he reminded her with a hint of irritation.
Eve feigned innocence, her wide eyes focused on him. "Which tone are you talking about? I'm clearly just speaking normally," she retorted, trying to conceal a mischievous smile.
With flustered cheeks, the angel stammered, "You... you currently have a baby voice. It's too cute."
Eve's mischievous smile broke into a full-fledged grin. "That was not supposed to be cute at all," she declared adamantly.
The angel nodded, determination shining in his eyes. "Okay then, I will stop it."
Eve's eyes sparkled with mischief as she leaned closer.
"You wanted me to tell you something interesting, right? Well, let me tell you a story," the angel offered.
Eve rolled her eyes playfully. "Don't tell me you're going to tell me a fairy tale. In that case, you can really stop the bother because I'd rather you not."
The angel raised a finger, shushing her gently. "Just wait, I haven't gone to the best part yet," he whispered mysteriously. "Hmm, what was I going to say next..."
Eve leaned back, her curiosity piqued. "Well, hurry up and continue," she urged eagerly, her eyes glued to the angel.
A mischievous smile danced on the angel's lips as he continued his story. "Once upon a time, there lived a young girl who had no parents or relatives. The only way for her to survive was through theft, but that way of life wasn't easy. She got caught several times and was beaten each time."
Eve's eyes widened with compassion, a knot forming in her stomach. "That sounds terrible... How did she endure it?"
The angel nodded solemnly. "It was indeed a difficult life, but amidst the hardships, she managed to find some light. She gained a group of comrades who were there for her, even if it was for a short time."
Eve's heart swelled with hope as she listened intently. "What happened to her? Did she find happiness?"
The angel's gaze shifted to Eve, a warm smile playing on his lips. "Oh well, she fell asleep again and it seems that she is starting to forget about the past ," he mused softly, his eyes lingering on her peaceful face.
As Eve's snoring filled the room, the angel couldn't help but feel a sense of protectiveness and affection for the girl who had brought a spark of excitement into his celestial existence. He vowed silently to always be there for her, to keep her safe and entertained, no matter what challenges they faced together.
Little did they know that their bond would grow stronger with each passing days.
At The hospital
Mrs Dones couldn't help but gaze at the tiny bundle in her arms, her heart swelling with a newfound love. "She is so cute," she whispered to her friend Lalya, her eyes never leaving Eve's delicate features.
Lalya leaned in closer, marveling at the sight. "Oooh! She's really cute. Now let me help you carry her, you must already be tired," she offered, a warm smile lighting up her face.
Mrs Dones shook her head, a playful glint in her eyes. "No, it's only been a few minutes and you already want to take her away from me?" she teased, gently cradling Eve in her arms.
Lalya chuckled, feeling a wave of joy wash over her. "Dona, now that you're a mom, you can stop being grumpy!" she playfully nudged her friend's arm. "Have you already given her a name?"
Mrs Dones nodded, a proud smile spreading across her lips. "Of course, I already did. Her name is Evely Dones," she declared, her voice filled with affection as she looked down at her sleeping baby girl.
Lalya's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Now, can I carry her?" she asked eagerly, her hands reaching out to hold little Eve.
Mrs Dones hesitated for a moment, before gently passing her precious daughter into Lalya's waiting arms. "Be careful," she whispered, a hint of worry mixed with trust.
Lalya cradled Eve with practiced ease, marveling at her innocence. "Oh, look! She just opened her eyes. Isn't that cute?" she marveled softly, as Eve's bright eyes blinked open, taking in her surroundings.
Eve, still too young to understand the voices around her, listened intently to the chatter. She let out a playful coo, her tiny mouth curving into a joyful smile.
"What is all this gibbering sounds I'm hearing?" she thought to herself, amused by the unfamiliar voices.
As if sensing something, Eve tilted her head slightly and let out a soft baby babble.
"Angel," she telepathically called for the invisible angle that she could only see.
"Yes,eve." answered angel.
"Who are the people talking right now?"eve asked.
"Its your mother and her friend."
"Mother?its not the nurses?I have a mother?" eve questioned with hopeful eyes.
"Yes, in this life you have one."
"Which one is she?" eve asked.
Eve's question sparked a glimmer of amusement in the angel's eyes. "The one holding you right now, dear Eve," the angel replied.
Eve's gaze shifted towards Mrs Dones, her eyes filled with wonder and curiosity. She studied her mother's face, its loving expression etched into her memory. "She's beautiful," Eve mused, a sense of warmth and belonging enveloping her little being.
Lalya observed the interaction between Eve and Mrs Dones, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "She seems to recognize you, Dona," she remarked softly, filled with admiration for the bond between mother and daughter.
Mrs Dones felt her heart swell with love as she watched Eve gaze up at her, the realization of being a mother sinking in deeper. "I knew from the moment I first held her that she is my world," she whispered in awe, her voice overflowing with unconditional love.
Mrs Dones, overwhelmed with emotions, leaned in closer to Eve, gently kissing her forehead. " I have finally a daughter of my own.
I love you more than words could ever express, my sweet Evely," she murmured, tears of joy glistening in her eyes.
As the small family basked in the blissful surroundings of the hospital room, the invisible angel watched over them with a sense of fulfillment.
As Layla noticed some familiar people outside while looking through the window"Dona I don't want to Interrupt you,but it seems we are going to get some visitors soon,"
