I opened my eyes and found myself in a strange coffin which was stuck between a strange tree wondering as it opened its doors "How did I end up like this.....where is everybody"?

This is my story

My name is Lucy and I was once a happy girl living with my parents.I found myself lucky to have such nice people around me...but so did I thought, fate had other plans for me.

My parents mysteriously died when I was 5 and I went to live with my aunt Matilda and my uncle Johnathan known as the Smiths. Everyone loved them because they were kind and humble but I know what I had suffered for the last 10 years. they were not as everyone told me. they were wicked and full of themselves.

they even had a daughter who was around my age and her name was Macy. Both mother and daughter were alike and did not have any mercy. They made me live in a cramped attic which was dusty and a home to insects.

I always wondered how I survived that hellhole for the past 10 years. They gave me leftovers as a meal and made me work like a maid in the house.Macy was a spoiled girl who wanted everything in the world and had the worst attitude among them.

It was my 15th birthday I held a small cake in my hand wishing myself happy birthday alone every year. I blew the candle wishing for a day where there will be no one and only I will stay with the people I love.Suddenly a strong bolt of thunder passed down in our yard. It shook the whole house and when I peeped through my small window I saw a big hole which was caused by the lightning. I quickly rushed down to see what happened. The Smiths came down with me in their pajamas and were shocked to see what happened."My roses!"I cried.

"What's the point in crying now. They are gone and who cares for those good for nothing plants". Uncle Johnathan replied.

"Yea besides who would care for such lowly plants "Macy said.I was so pissed at them and at the same time heartbroken because they were the only things that I loved.

"Whatever let's just go back to sleep". Aunt Matilda commented. They all went back, but I couldn't help feeling bad for them. I was about to go something shiny caught my eye.

I went near that hole and found a small rock tablet and it looked like there was some writing on it. I picked it and wiped the dust of it and to my surprise I could read it. "Eligius" I read it out loud and all of a sudden it started to shine. It was so blinding that I did notice when it disappeared from my hands. I looked around for it wondering if I might have dropped it but couldn't find it.

I woke up in the morning around 6 and felt a sharp pain in the back.it felt like my skin was burning. I removed my shirt and found some kind of strange pattern on the back. It was unbearable, so I went to the living room and got myself some ointment. I applied it to my back, but it didn't help.

It was almost time for aunt Matilda to get up and prepare breakfast for everyone. I quickly scurried to the attic and pretended to be asleep. I heard the loud thumping feet of aunt Matilda coming towards the attic." Get up girl no time to sleep, you got a lot of chores to complete". Aunt Matilda said in a rusty voice"I am coming in a moment "i replied.

I got myself cleaned and rushed straight down to the dining room." What took you long boy"Uncle Johnathan said." I was getting ready, and I am not a boy I'm a girl"I answered." Anyone would think you are a boy because of those nasty rather disgusting clothes you are wearing, I mean no offense but your untidy mud brown hair and that fit you are wearing is totally tomboy". Macy commented." Quit babbling girl my baby is right you are always looking hideous". Aunt Matilda spoke. A sudden snicker filled the whole room. It didn't bother me because I was used to it, but it did hurt a bit.

I went to the kitchen to make my own breakfast as I had no expectations from them to make mine. I started to make bread jam and beside me aunt Matilda was sizzling Bacon. I did not prefer to eat bacon as I was a pure vegetarian, and they wouldn't let me eat even if I wanted to. I ate my jam bread and at the same time Macy was also done with hers, she came to me and purposely pushed me I don't know for what reason"Oops sorry I slipped"Macy said in a sarcastic manner. I was so pissed at that but couldn't react anyway." Macy my baby, i hope you're ready we have to go quickly". Uncle Johnathan said." Gosh can't you just call down dad besides I am not done applying my lip gloss so wait"Macy replied in a rude manner.

I packed my stuff and waited for her to be done. After a century of waiting she was done and half of the time passed away. We went outside and got in the car and were just about to leave when I spotted something it was like fire in the sky but in bird form and all of a sudden my mark started burning. It settled in seconds, but I still couldn't forget the incident.

I reached school and oh boy seeing the crowd I was scared I mean of course there will be a commotion because people have come after their summer vacations. Macy left to be with her girlfriends while I went straight in the main garden. I studied in the Evergreen high school, and it was a nice school, but the best thing was the abandoned library. Something was so intense about that place that it gave the chills.

I was going to go in the hallway when I noticed the mark which I had on my back, the same Mark of a bird was on the top of that library. The library was just behind our school and as there was still time I thought to check it out. I went there as fast as I could and entered it. I know it was a forbidden place, but I couldn't resist it at all. I wanted to know what I got this mark and how the same Mark is the logo of the library, there has to be a connection.

I went deep inside the library and at one end I found a person standing. He was facing his back towards me. I found it strange because this is a prohibited area. I went near him slowly and noticed something. He was making weird noises, and it seemed like he was shivering." Hello, are you okay"I said. I was just about to go near him when all of a sudden he turned his back, and I was horrified. He wasn't human, he looked like a monster. His eyes were huge and full of anger and his hands started to grow in an abnormal way and kept saying strange words hard to understand. He pounced on me, but luckily I was able to escape.

I ran for my dear life not knowing where I was going, and that strange being was right behind me.I don't know how but caught up to me, and he was just about to attack me when a ray of light pushed him miles away, and I noticed there were strange marks on my body and out of nowhere a young boy came at the scene he looked around my age. The monster started waking up, and he attacked us, but the young boy pulled out a sword from his hands and slashed it into bits and the monster just disappeared into thin air.

He looked at and for a second,, and he looked like he was shocked. I was about to thank him when my mark started burning terribly.He removed some kind of talisman from his hand and stuck it on my forehead."Is it some kind of joke"I said.He just stayed quiet and I don't know why but I started feeling dizzy and I was gone in a deep slumber.

I slowly opened my eyes feeling weak and found myself surrounded by a group of people.They wore weird masks and robes which were a bit sketchy. I tried to get up but my hands and legs were tied and the same guy who rescued me was present over there.

"Who are you people and why did you bring me here"I asked. As I tried to free myself one of the men spoke." Who are you and how did you get that mark"he said. "You mean the weird mark I have on my back"I answered." Yes that mark you have"A lady from the crowd spoke." I-I don't know"i said.

A guy from the crowd removed his mask and said"This is utter nonsense, there is no way she could be the Eligius. She probably doesn't even know what it means". After what he said everyone else removed their masks too. I was a bit hesitant about what they would do. One lady came up to me and untied me.

They all kept staring at me which made me uncomfortable. That lady first comforted me and made me sit on the nearby couch. I looked at the place, and it was majestic, there was a lot of weird stuff hanging on the walls and normally on the tables. The lady sat down with me and calmly asked me what my name was. I answered that my name was Lucy, and she introduced herself. Her name was Adelina, and she was in charge of bringing me here.I asked what the reason was." Let me tell you a story dear I think then you will understand"Adelina said.

"Long ago when human civilization was not that advanced, the world was full of things you could not imagine. There were many wizards, fairies, sorcerers, mages and during that time there was a powerful mage called Sera Maqfe. She was a legend and an inspiration to everyone. She had a mysterious power which had no boundaries. It may seem like a boon but if used extensively, it was a curse. The power got to her head and she used too much until it was her end. Prophecy states that if a person is born on the rare blue ombre moon, they are bound to have the same fate as Sera. "

Adeline narrating the story left me speechless but what she said next left shivers down my spine. She said"It is also said that the same person will have a phoenix mark."The boy spoke up and said"You still haven't told us how you got it." I looked at him and said that I found a small rock plate with weird writing and that after i touched it I got this mark. But one thing kept bugging me." Can I ask you a question?" I said." Yes what is it"Adeline replied." First, why did I get the mark, second who are you all and third who was that monster from which you just saved me from"I said.

"We will answer everything but first get her ready"Adeline said. I was confused and the 2 small girls who looked identical helped me get up and said to follow them. I quietly followed them not knowing where I was going. Not only that, but I also noticed I was being followed by 3 people which included the boy who saved me a pretty girl and a muscular boy whom I think I had seen in school. They led me in a room and one of the identical girls told me to put on a blindfold. I freaked out and denied it but the girl behind me held me up and sweetly said that don't worry anything is going to happen to you, we are just heading somewhere. I was powerless in front of them and I had no choice but to follow what they were telling me.

I was put on a blindfold, my hands were tied again and I didn't have a single idea of where I was going. After a long time of walking they opened my blindfold, and I was brought to a court and tied to a pole. I saw three old men sitting high on a table, and they looked like the judges and on both sides there were people who were murmuring and on one side Adeline and the other people I saw were there.

"Court has begun"someone shouted from behind and then there was total silence. One person came up and started to tell the three old men who I was. He looked like one of the lawyers, and he said"My lord, as you can see the mages say that they have found the infamous Eligius who is said to be the reincarnation of Sera Mapfe's power and as we know she also will bring the same destruction as Sera brought. There is no doubt that she is bound to bring the same"

I stayed there clueless about what was happening and what will happen to me. I couldn't help but feel scared about what will happen to me. Will I be safe or not.
