📞: Cut to chase, how was your first day at work?

📞: What was that hesitation for?

📞: Huh?! Nothing, I was finding word to describe the first day haha..
[She said trying sneak in a laugh]

📞: You can't be serious deadass. I'll meet you—

📞: No, no! I'm busy packing, so I can't meet you right now.

📞: Packing? for what? [She asked frowning as she closed her laptop in front of her]

📞: I'm....moving out.
Yuri
📞: What?! Why?! [She asked yelling]

📞: I will tell you when we meet some other day. [She said sighing as she plopped on her bed]

📞: Ko I'll literally barge in your house if you don't—
Asako
📞: Someone's calling me, I'll call you later! bye! [She said hurriedly as she hung up the call]

Wh- [She looks at her hung up phone] DID SHE JUST HANG UP ON ME?!? THAT LITTLE-
Asako sighed as she looked at her phone screen, of course no one was calling her, she just needed to disconnect the call at that moment.
Asako
*I don't wanna worry Yuri again, she's already helped me through all this shit I don't wanna drag her into all this more.*
She scrolled on her phone looking at some websites offering rooms on rent.

*No way that I can ever afford all this.*

*3000 dollars, 4000 dollars hah, bold of them to assume people would give that kind of money per month*
She was about to close the website when her gaze landed upon someone offering renting a room at $500.

Huh? [She clicked on it to see the information]

*Damn this is the cheapest I could get, but the furniture and all will cost a fortune—*

WHAT? [she audibly screamed]

Fully furnished room at 500 dollars per month?! is this heaven?

I should probably get this before someone else books it.
She quickly dialed in the number and called the landlord.

📞: This is Asako shin, I was looking for renting a room and came across your offer.
📞: Ah, right. Are you visiting?
Asako
📞: Yeah sure, I'll like to visit the location tomorrow, is it alright?
📞: Yeah sure. You can find the address on the same website.
Asako
📞: Yes, thank you. I'll see you tomorrow then.
They hung up the call as Asako hugged her phone and squealed in happiness.

*It's even cheaper than my current rent and it's nearby my workplace AND it's fully furnished!!!! Damn I must be having luck on my side.*
Asako looked through the directions and reached in front of an apartment complex.
She waited and soon a lady arrived.
Miyeon
You must be Asako Shin?
Asako
Ah yes, hello. [She bowed slightly with a smile]
Miyeon
Did you wait long? [She said taking out the keys for the room]
Asako
No no, I just arrived. [She chuckled while gesturing with her hands]
Miyeon
[She nodded with a smile and opened the door] Let's head in.
Both of them entered the room.
It wasn't very spacious but not too small either, the walls were painted white and all the furniture was already kept covered with white cloth.
The sunlight was creeping in from behind the balcony. And the room was unexpectedly very clean.

*This is too good to be this cheap, am I really not getting scammed or something?* [She thought to herself as she glanced at the lady with a worried expression]
Miyeon
[She noticed Asako's expression and spoke] What's wrong? Do you not like the room?
Asako
That's not it! It's....it's very good. But that is what keeps bugging me.
Miyeon
[She looked at her with a puzzled look on her face]
Asako
I mean, these kind of apartments usually don't even go down 1000 dollars. I-I am not getting scammed am I..? haha.. [She awkwardly laughed]
Miyeon
[She chuckled at her assumption] Indeed. It's normal that you find it quite surprising.
Miyeon
But no, I'm not scamming you. This place is pretty far away from the metro station so not many people prefer living in this locality.
Miyeon
That explains the cheap rate.
Asako
Ah...that's why. [She nodded]
Miyeon
Then what do you say?
Asako
I'm moving out soon, so I'd probably wanna move in within this week. Is it fine?
Miyeon
Yeah of course, you'll just have to deposit two months advance by tomorrow and I'll give you the necessary documents and you're ready to move in.
Asako
Tomorrow...? two months? so like a thousand dollars?
Miyeon
Yeah, that's how it works if you wanna move in within this week. [She smiles]
Asako
*It's fine, atleast it's lower than other rooms.*
Miyeon
If you won't deposit the advance and if someone else books it tomorrow before you, then you'll lose it to them.
Asako
*Right, I shouldn't think too much I don't have any place to go anyways*
Asako
Alright, I'll deposit it to you by tomorrow.

Asako
Damn it, I'm 200 bucks short.
She got up from her bed and searched her purse, and her drawers to find some change.
She sighed in frustration as she stood there in contemplation as to what to do next.
Asako
*Ugh I need to break my savings*
She took her phone and opened her savings out with $300 in them.
Asako
📞: Yes, yes I've transferred the deposit to you.
Miyeon
📞: Alright, I'll send you the documents just sign them and send me a copy. And you can start moving in.
Asako
📞: Alright thank you so much!
She disconnected the phone and looked around her old room, she's been living here for only over two years but the place had lots of memories for her.
While she was in her own thoughts, someone knocked on her door. She wasn't expecting anyone so she confusingly opened the door.
Asako
Shhhhh!!! [She quickly grabbed her mouth and pulled inside her room while closing the door behind them]
Yuri
ummphh!! [She tried screaming in her grip and finally managed to be free and exhaled loudly]
Asako
What are you doing here Yuri?!
Yuri
Don't ask me that! Of course I'd be here, if you don't even tell me what the heck is going on?!
Asako
I said I'll tell you—
Yuri
Bold of you assume I have that kind of patience to wait like a whole eternity.
Asako
[She sighed as she sat on her bed and motioned her to sit too]
Asako
Fine, I'll tell you.
Yuri
Please do. [She crossed her arms as she sat down]
Asako
Long story short, the landlord kicked me out.
Yuri
I reckoned that, but why?!
Asako
Uh well, I didn't pay my rent on time each month—
Yuri
Well at least you did?
Asako
I did, but he didn't listen and blabbered about how he doesn't like late payments and that I'm an alone girl, I must bring boys and what not.
Yuri
So that old hag basically insulted you and got away with it?!?
Asako
Leave it, it's nothing new. I had to move out anyways.
Asako
Don't worry, I've found an apartment, I'll move in there soon.
Yuri
What? You already did?
Asako
Yeah, it's really cheap and is nearby my work place.
Yuri
Damn, you sure it's not a scam?
Asako
No of course not. I met with the landlord.

You're really fine right? [She tucked onto Asako's sweater and looked at her with a concerned look]

[She glanced at her and gave a reassuring small smile] Yeah. Don't worry.

Oh...and just give me a little more time, I'll pay back your—
Yuri
Shin Asako. [She spoke in a stern voice]
Yuri
I told you, I don't need money back from you.
Yuri
What am I? A loan shark?
Asako
I know as a friend you—
Yuri
[She interrupted her again]
I've always treated you like my younger sister okay?
Yuri
I won't repeat myself again, don't worry about paying me back and just earn for yourself.
Asako stared at her for a few moments, as Yuri gave her a reassuring smile.
Asako
[She pouted and covered her eyes with her arms]
Yuri
Hey! Why are you crying?! [She hit her lightly]
Asako
I'm not crying! [she said in an obvious crying voice]
Yuri
If...if you'll cry, I'll start crying too! [She hit her again]
Asako looked up and they looked each other's funny look on the face of trying not to cry and suddenly burst out laughing.
Asako was standing in front of her new apartment as she dusted off her hands and smiled in relief.
She walked inside and set all her things all across the rooms, she sticked the cute stickers on the wall, and basically decorated everything.
It was already evening now when she finally completed settling in.
Yuri
📞: Did you finish everything up?
Asako
📞: Yeahhh [She groaned]
Asako
📞: And I'm fricking tired.
Yuri
📞: Damn. Sorry i couldn't come, I swear my boss is a whole devil, he gave me loads of work for today.
Asako
📞: Nah don't worry about it. But you must come to visit me soon okay?
Yuri
📞: Of course! How can I not?!
While they spoke to each other, Asako heard someone putting in the pin on the door and the door opening.
Asako
📞: I'll call you later. [She quickly hung up the phone and stood up]
She gulped and slowly walked towards the door with a baseball bat in her hand.
As soon as she reached there, she saw a tall man closing the door behind him.
As soon as their eyes met and she finally realised.
Asako
A PERVERT!!!!!!! STAY RIGHT THERE [She started throwing her baseball bat in random directions in the air]
Hamin
WHAT PERVERT?!? WHO ARE YOU?!?!!? [He stepped back trying to dodge her bat]
Asako
WHY ARE YOU ASKING THAT TO ME, YOU ARE IN MY ROOM!
