Sia opened her eyes in a room where there was only darkness not a single ray of light and all the windows & doors were closed.

Her whole body was trembling with fever and seeing such darkness started to weigh her back down.

"Where am I? What is this place? How did I come here and why is my whole body feeling such a pain as if someone had hit me with a stick?"

When she herself was thinking all these questions, then suddenly she heard the sound of the door opening and from there she saw a figure working towards her because of Darkness the person could not be recognized.

She mustered up the courage and asked "who are you? What am I doing here?"

That person replied in a crafty tone "you like this room, didn't you Oh! My sweet little darling how can I forget that after that incident you can't tolerate darkness"

This voice seemed familiar to her and within a short time she realized that it was none other than her stepmother.

"Why are you doing this to me? What have I done to you?" she said while crying

Her step mother replied in a hypocritical manner "You must be aware of how much I love you sweetheart and whatever I do it's for you I told you many times that this marriage proposal is a treasure for you don't lose it but still you didn't understand and yesterday in front of everyone you denied their proposal. Do you have any idea how reputable they are in society? They are the richest among all I wish they would have selected one of my daughters"

She started laughing in a painful voice and said "Treasure for me or you greedy lady I am not aware of if you ever loved me but I am very much aware that you are very hungry for money. I am sure this marriage proposal is also some sort of profitable business of yours am I wrong my so-called mother?"

She came walking towards her and turning her face to her said to her "Of course you are right if you don't get married your father who loves you so much will never pay attention to my daughters and I don't want that. This is your last chance either say yes or be here in this dark room for your whole life and yeah how can I forget my sweetheart have a workshop next week right for which you were preparing for so long how will you attend that from this room so, be a good girl and say yes tomorrow you have whole night to decide in this complete dark room either yes or no"

As soon as she left Sia tried her best to escape, but she couldn't, She didn't even know where she was. She had absolutely no clue what to do. She started crying remembering her mother and her words. Her mother always brings peace and comfort to her mind. She fell asleep thinking about her mother.

In the morning

Her stepmother entered the room where she was imprisoned. Her footsteps were loud enough to give Sia goosebumps. She woke up suddenly like a demon entered her sweet dream.

As soon she opened her eyes her stepmother started to bluff "Good morning Sweetheart, I gave you enough time to decide so tell me what have you decided?"

"What is left to think about myself and me? On one side there is a well and on the other side there is a ditch. How can you be so stone hearted, you are marrying me for your benefit.

I want to fulfill my dreams my ambition. The upcoming workshop is very crucial for me please let me attend it "she started crying while speaking and begging her for not forcing her to get married.

Even after begging her for a few hours her stepmother didn't listen to her. Sia was quite surprised by this because it was the first time she didn't beat her for speaking up in front of her. She thought her stepmother might be a little kind towards her, but her misconception didn't last long as her stepmother said "Don't think that I being kind towards you, it's just that I don't want to spoil your face before your marriage what will the boy's family think that I mistreat you. I can't waste my day with you, I have many other works to do so don't waste my time if you want to attend your workshop agree to this marriage that's all I will never resist you from going there and if you still have guts to say no then have guts to forget your dream forever. Now tell me! Tell me your decision fast "

She started crying even more realizing her helplessness. While crying, she replied "You didn't leave me with a choice, so I am agreeing to whatever you say but in return you are not allowed to take any of my decisions from now on this was the last do you agree with this?"

Her stepmother started to dance hearing this and replied" Yes of course sweetheart as you say now come on stop crying and behave like a happy bride to be let me prepare for your wedding ceremony"

Sia was completely broken so she closed her eyes and saw an image of her mother saying "Don't cry you are my brave daughter be strong and fight back. Now go and prepare for your workshop tomorrow"

"Oh no I almost forgot it's tomorrow thank you mom I should go to my room and call Kate for information"

In her room

She was calling her best friend Kate. She was the only friend who understands her and cares for her.

"Finally you picked up my call. Tell me what happened in the past 2 days did I miss something important?"

Her best friend replied in a soft and relaxed voice "No you didn't miss out on anything I hope you prepared for tomorrow."

She felt relief after hearing her voice "No I didn't" while saying she looked up on the clock and started panicking "wait I don't have much time bye bye! See you tomorrow"

Kate replied laughing "Yeah bye bye"

In the morning

"Finally it's the day I was waiting for so long"

Sia almost forgot about everything that happened yesterday and was excited to attend her workshop. She started rushing to reach the assigned location.

At the workshop location she saw her best friend and rushed towards her

"Kate I am so happy to see you. Am I late? Why is there no one? Did everybody leave already?"

"Wait! Breathe for a second, so many questions Oh my god!. You are not late and nobody is here because we are 1hr early"

She felt a sense of relief and started talking to Kate about her preparation, but suddenly Kate asked her "I wanted to ask you something since Michael proposed to you, but I didn't felt good to ask it last night. What have you thought about him, he is your childhood friend don't you think you should give him a chance"

Sia suddenly got Goosebumps as she remembered whatever she went through last night, but she replied calmly controlling her emotions "You are right, but I don't think he deserves a girl like me. I don't have any feelings for him"

"I know you don't have any feelings for him, but it's not a kind of reply a person would expect from you. There is definitely something you are hiding from me. You know right I am your best friend you can't hide anything for me for a long time so come on tell me."

Sia started crying leaning towards her and decided to tell her everything.

"Actually I am going to get married"

Kate was not able to believe her ears. She said shouting "Is it really you who is saying this. You used to tell me that how marrying early can destroy a girl's future, and now you are getting married. Just tell me you are joking I know you are trying to prank me right?"

"It's not a joke Kate it's a deal with my stepmother. She allowed me to attend this workshop and promised me my freedom at the cost of my marriage."

Kate stood up in front of her and said "And you accepted marrying any stranger or you at least know him"

"No! I don't have any idea who that guy is? What's his age? What's his profession? I am absolutely clueless about what will happen next to me."

Before Kate could reply to her, the instructor announced "Everyone Please gather in the auditorium"

They both went to the auditorium happily pretending to forget about what they were talking about.

In the Smith's mansion
