Saturday morning. The maidens go about their regular duties. Among them was a 17-year-old slave named Elara.

Elara: *silently continues working, trying to ignore the insults*

The fourth maid kicks the bucket.

Maid Two
Clean it now, or we will make you! Got it?!
His fate and hers
Getting down on her knees, Elara starts using her dress to wipe the dirty water without protest.
Head maid
That's more like it!
Maid Two
(mockingly) Have you even gone through your transition, Elara? Where's your wolf to protect you now?
Elara keeps her head down, hiding the turmoil within, but the pain in her eyes is evident.
Maid Three
(sarcastically) Maybe her wolf ran away too, just like her traitor father.
Elara continues the menial task, enduring the humiliation, her silence a mask for the strength within.
Maid Two
*with a sinister grin* You know what, Elara? I think you need a bath.
*She shoves Elara's face into the pond of dirty water*
Other Maids: *laughing and jeering*
Elara: *gasps, sputters, and pulls her face out of the water, her wet hair clinging to her face*

Look at her, everyone! Even the dirty water rejects her.
Maid One
(mockingly) Maybe she'll finally wash away the shame her father brought upon his family name.
Elara struggles to maintain composure, wiping the water from her face, but remains silent, determined not to give them the satisfaction of a reaction.
Head maid
*smirking* You're lucky that our king even let you stay here. A traitor's daughter like you should be grateful for any scrap of pity we throw your way.
Elara stands up, soaked and humiliated, but resolute, refusing to let them break her spirit.
Just then, she froze as she stared straight ahead, fear dancing in her eyes.
She locked eyes with Alpha Ace approaching them with his beta by his side.
Better... or worse?
Alpha Ace approaches with an imposing presence, his beta by his side, instilling fear among the maids.
Maids whispering and nervously glancing at Alpha Ace.
Alpha Ace passes by Elara, then suddenly stops, sniffing the air.
Elara drops to her knees, thinking the smell of the dirty water might have offended the Alpha.
Maid One
(accusingly) Look at her, she's even disgusting the Alpha with her stench!
Maid Two
(mocking) The Alpha deserves better than the sight of this traitor's spawn.
Alpha Ace raises an eyebrow, then looks directly at Elara.
Alpha Ace
How old are you?
Alpha Ace
Stand up and follow me.
Elara wanted to burst into tears, fearing what her fate with such a ruthless alpha would be.
Maids stare in shock as Elara stands and walks away with Alpha Ace, leaving them bewildered and whispering among themselves.
Alpha Ace leads Elara to his chambers, the heavy door closing behind them, leaving her alone with the powerful Alpha and Beta
