First of all, as soulmates, our first meeting was supposed to happen later in your life; usually it happens when the human is past 25 years old.

I was in the hospital with some business and I felt a well known smell, which I never felt before, but I was sure I did. It came from a hospital room, where a young 40ish year old man was laying in the hospital bed with tubes coming out his mouth.

The smell was faint, but it was there.

Yes. His soul was fighting between life and death, and I felt your confusion, your despair, your need for informations...I had no idea what to do, so I just took a seat on one of the hall chairs and waited there.

I watched how another guy came to say goodbye to the man, and after that, his soul left.

The guy called your mother, and that's when I felt it...your pain at the realisation that he was no longer going to come home alive.
Mia felt shivers run down her back. He knew so many things.

And that's how I ended up at the funeral and discovered you.

No one explained what was going on to you. You were a little girl unable to digest the situation. And I was surprised to see that you fought alone.

He suddenly pulled one of her hands and placed it on his cheek.
And her mind was pulled in the past, which was playing behind her eyelids.
She could see herself hugging her mother, while she cried histerically. Then she could see herself on the edge of the grave, throwing a red rose over the grave, a tear rolling down her cheek.
And behind her, in the distance, there was a tall figure.
William was looking at her intently.

Yeah...I had to check on you.

I promised myself I would leave after the funeral.
He was looking down at her feet.
Mia
Then how do you know about what followed?

She was brought back onto the bridge, watching herself at 12 years old. The wind was blowing her then long hair, in every direction.
She took few steps and then she fell in the water.
Mia tried to scream for help so that someone would help that little girl.
Then she felt the air whistling at her ear and William jumped in the water.
After seconds he came back at the surface of the angry water with a pale, lifeless Mia.
Then she was back in the cabin.

But I remember I sat on that bridge until the sun went down and then I left home, deciding to not end things that day.
Will
I compelled you to go home to your mother, to not make her suffer more than she already did.
Will
I made you think you got soaked because of a sudden rain.
She couldn't understand a thing anymore, and her normal headache was now ten times stronger.

You are overwhelmed! Get to sleep a little, and then I'll tell you more.
She shook her head in protest.

No...No...I need to choose today. I have to go to work or I will lose my job.
He placed both of his hands on her shoulders and started to massage her.

Calm down. I sent a message to your supervisor this morning, before work.

Mia complied, letting her shoulders relax a little.
It looked ok. And her supervisor was ok with it.
She breathed a little sigh of relief.

Come on! Get some sleep! I'll cook something.
She needed to know more, but the extreme fatigue made her walk dizzily towards the bed. William was in a second at her side, grabbing her arm and supporting her.
She climbed up the bed, he tucked her in and in a blink of an eye she was out.
She made the decision
It was around 2 pm when she woke up under the spell of french fries. The smell was so good that she automatically got out of bed and walked towards the source.
Thus she found William at the table, watching with eager attention out the window.
He smiled at her and used his vampire fast walk to pull her chair and let her sit down.
Mia stood amazed at how weird this whole thing was. She considered that maybe she died the other night on her way home and this was some kind of a purgatory.

But it's not as bad of a purgatory as you imagined, right?
He asked it with his smirk plastered on.
To stop her thoughts from going into a spiral at how gorgeaus he looked now in her eyes, she pushed some fries in her mouth.

After the incident I kept an eye on you at all times. You felt my presence for more than one time.
She stopped munching and looked at him.

I did, but I thought it happened because of my mental issues.

No...I was to be blamed entirely.

Mia nodded in understanding, but it was still hard for her to believe everything.

She watched him fidgeting his fingers for the first time in front of her eyes.

She could no longer listen to this nonesense. Mia pulled her pants and shirt on, grabbed her backpack and stopped in front of the door, facing this mountain of a man who was now hunched back and noticeably upset.

And he drove her back. He did not cover her eyes this time, cause in some part of his brain he wished she would change her mind half down the road.
Suffer
The pain was excruciating.
Mia could not support her body no more, so she let herself fall down on the side of the road.
Then it was all gone, when she felt his hands on her back.
He was looking at her as in to send her the message "I warned you!"
Mia
What the hell did you do to me?
Mia
Jesus! Mom always told me to not eat from strangers.
He ignored her gibberish, and helped her get up.
Will
It's the bond. Once connected, we can not stay separated from each other.
Mia
Oh fuck off. You drugged me to make me believe every bullshit you let out of that mouth.
And she pushed him away with all her force.
Ignoring the pain in her chest which was beginning to stab her soul, slowly but with power, she advanced towards her home.
She refused to turn her head around and take a last look at him.
She struggled to get inside and immediately took a seat on the bed.
The pain was unimaginable. All her insides felt like it was pushing out.
Mia
Maybe if I put on some music and take a shower it'll all go away.
It turned out it did not change a thing. But rather it was worse.
She hated hospitals, so to even thing about calling the ambulance was hurting her more.
Mia
I should try to sleep the pain away.
But after 2 hours of laying there and moving from one side to the other, she could not longer take it.
It was like every cell in her body fell in a crazy daze and she wanted to puke her guts out but she couldn't.
After 5 hours of pure agony, her phone started calling.
Through her teary eyes she could decipher Will on her screen. Bastard, he entered his phone number.
She answered it but refused to say a thing.
Will
Please let me come in.
She pushed herself off the bed and as she advanced towards the door, the pain lessened, but it was still eating her from inside.
She grabbed the doorknob and pushed it down before her legs let her down for the second time today.
William was in front of the door, with a panicked expression on, but he wasn't getting in.
Will
Mia, you have to invite me in.
Mia looked up at him amused.
Will
I can't get in otherwise.
Mia
*Should I let him in?*
He shouted louder, and she gave in. What else was there left for her to do?
In a second she felt him scoop her up in his arms, he pushed the door closed and then he made his way into the bedroom.
The pain was gone, but she felt scared, terrified...the unknown in the equation was scaring her.
He did not let go of her while he maneuvered his way into the bed and under the covers.
He then began pulling his shirt off.
She looked suspiciously at him without moving her head from off his chest. She couldn't lie about it, it felt good to be free of that pain.
Will
It'll be easier for the both of us if we have a direct connection!
She proceeded to get up, but he grabbed her by the shoulders and stopped her.
Then he whispered in her ear.
Will
Mia! How are you feeling now?
After some moments of pondering, she answered.
Will
So what's the logical explanation?
She stopped thinking for a moment.
Then Mia felt him move his hands off her shoulders and down her body.
Will
I will take your shirt off now.
If this was another man, she would've kicked the shit out of him, but this was him...him...Whoever he was?
He pulled her shirt up slowly and she pulled her arms up to cover her chest.
He placed it on the nightstand.
