Liam's pov

I watched as the blood splattered all around the floor as my mom groaned in pain.I could just watch as she took her last breath in front of me. That's the last thing I could remember before blanking out.I still remember her horrifying face as she died before me. But I just couldn't do anything even though I wanted to.

I woke up in an unfamiliar place I panicked as i remembered the horrifying scene that I witnessed." Hey are you ok u have been spacing out for a while" an officer said ,I panicked as I suddenly realized I was not the only one in the room. I had an IV drip on my hand and there were two officer s staring at me." Yes I'm fine "I said even though I was everything except fine." Can u answer some questions for us Liam "the other officer asked. "Ok" I said ." Do u have any other family except your mother "he asked ." No" I said as I honestly don't remember having any other family except my mother since she never mentioned them. Then the officers discussed something and left after a short while. The whole day I was alone with no visitors ,but I was still waiting for that certain someone my best friend ,Alessandro. But he never came , I wanted to go and see if he was there at our favorite place, the beach. But I wasn't allowed by the officers.

The next morning I was sent to an orphanage since I had nowhere else to go. When I reached the orphanage I was greeted with a kind looking woman , with a sweet smile, who turned out to be the owner of the orphanage "Are you Liam she asked with a kind smile ." Yes"I said."I'm sorry for what happened to your mother why don't you look around "she said .

"Yes" I said with a small smile. I was still in a daze as everything happened in just a blink of an eye.My life had completely changed nothing was going to be the same anymore. I just lost my mother who was always by my side and my best friend I wonder how he was doing, I hope he is ok. I don't have a place to call home anymore neither a family and now not even him.I was just living my life as a normal kid would but now everything was gone I know my life will never be the same as it ever was .I wonder if I will get accepted here ,as I was thinking to myself. I saw a group of guys walking past me they didn't look so welcoming as the lady I saw back there.As I was going to the room I saw a lot of kids their condition was not so good. They had shabby clothes on and their bones could be seen because of lack of food ,turns out that they were not fed so well. I was lost in my thoughts when I suddenly saw a group of boys approaching me that's when I realized there were bullies in the orphanage.

Liam's pov

"Little kid what's your name"one of the guys asked ." Liam" I said with all the courage I could muster up . "You sure have nice clothes on unlike ours why don't we make it dirty for you "said the boy as he signalled the other guy to throw water on him. As the water splashed on me, I trembled as it was really cold I didn't even get time to think as I suddenly felt pain in my stomach I just got punched there.

Nearby me there was a crowd full of other kids but all they did was just watch as I was beaten the whole while. Suddenly another kid shouted "aunt Clara is coming Jayden, stop it or else we will get in trouble" and with that he finally stopped. Turns out the guys name was Jayden."Don't you dare say it to anyone otherwise it won't be good for you"he said as he finally left me . Soon the room got empty and I burst out crying I was never even slapped by my mother and here I was all beaten up.I really miss Alessandro he was always there for me and he would never let this happen,but now I have no one I'm all by myself. Then suddenly the owner of the orphanage came running to me "Oh my God what happened to you Liam? Who did this to you ?are you okay? "she asked "I just fell down " I said even though anyone could say I didn't ." Is it Jayden, who did this "she asked in a soft voice. "No ma'am" I said ." Liam you can call me aunt Clara just like the others call me"

"Are you sure that it's not Jayden "she said "No "I said "Since you don't wanna talk about this I will leave it this time but next time it shouldn't be the same ok" she said "yes aunt Clara I said. "Ok then honey let's go grab some food " she said . As we walked to the dinning table all the kids stared at us . "Ok so everyone this is liam he will be staying with us from now on .I hope you all treat him well even though it looks like some of you aren't"she said as she glared at Jayden and with that I felt a chill on my back.Jayden was glaring at me and I trembled a little and with that I went and sat in an empty chair. For food all we had just bread and water.

After a while aunt Clara left after giving me a small smile. And as soon she left Jayden just came and snatched my food away." Hey that's mine food" I said " Not anymore

loser if I have some leftovers I will probably give it to you "he said "u can't do that" I said . "Do u want some more beating" he said and with that I went quiet. After a while everyone was done eating "hey loser come with me don't you think you need some punishment for opening your mouth"he said .

Liam's pov

I didn't move from my place I was just too scared to. I don't even know why this Jayden guy is after me. And then I looked at the door hoping for aunt Clara to appear but she wasn't there." Hey what are you looking at she won't be back anytime soon "as he said that he dragged me with him. I started struggling trying to get off him but as I struggled he just held me even tighter a slapped me across my face. That hurt so bad I eventually started crying.

"What are you crying for I didn't even hit that hard ,keep your tears you will need it later" he said with a gruff voice . After a while we reached in a dark store room it looked like it was abandoned for a long while. "What are we doing here "I said with a shaky voice ." You are going to stay here loser" he said and with that I started crying "Please don't leave me here I'm scared of darkness" I said ." Does it look like I care "he said and threw me to the corner and went towards the door "Please don't leave me here ,please "I said as I started trembling"Why are you overreacting it's not like I'm beating you ,all you have to do is just stay in the dark for a while and with that he left and locked the door. "Please don't leave me here" I shouted as I banged at the door . I kept slamming the door and shouting but no one answered after a while I looked around everything was dark I was really scared and started crying . After a while I felt dizzy I couldn't see things around and collapsed on the cold floor .

When I woke up I was not in that room anymore . I was sleeping on the bed and there was a boy near me ,he looked like he was around my age . As I moved my hand towards my face I realized I still had dry tears on my face and with my movement the guy looked towards my direction ." Hey are you ok" the guy asked "Ya I'm fine how did I get here?" I asked as my voice was still hoarse because of shouting too much " I just came here today and was looking around when I saw the store room I got curious and opened the door and that's where I found you, so I thought of taking you to my room. "

"Oh, thank you" I said "But why were you locked in there "he said and with that I had a nervous face on not knowing what to say. Maybe he understood that I was not comfortable with that, so he changed the subject which I was thankful for. "Well I didn't get to introduce myself I'm Oliver and I'm 11 years old"he said " I'm Liam 10 years old,nice to meet you " I said "Nice to meet you too Liam" he said.
