149 Days: Still Never Yours

Chapter 1 - Her Wish

Prologue

Did you guys ever wonder? How do our wishes come true? Well, some believe Fairy

Godmothers are there for them. Some are also told flipping a coin inside a well

can make your wish come true. Some also say the stars above the sky listen to

your wishes and fulfil them.

But my case was totally different!

At the brink of my death, I wished to something unimaginable and guess what? It

made my wish come true.

I wished upon a comet.

Chapter 1 - Her Wish

"Oppa,

I'm home." Myeong Jo came home, removing her shoes.

She didn't hear her brother reply.

"Oppa, Gwenchana? Are you sleeping?"

Still no reply.

She removed her sneakers and went inside her brother's room to check on him.

Slowly opening the door, she peaked her head inside. There he was laying on the

bed, sleeping so peacefully under the cheap blanket. He looked like a polar

bear who caught cold.

A smile bloomed on her lips. She went inside and sat by the edge of his bed.

Gently stroking his hair, she spoke softly, "Oppa, feeling good now?"

Her elder brother Min Yoon Gi worked so hard to run their little family. Just

her and him against the world. Today he got sick in the morning. Of course,

working so much would bound to get him tired.

Yoon Gi slowly opened his eyes. Myeong Jo knew how her brother hated waking up

from his precious sleep. But now, he didn't budge at all. He must be really

sick.

"Y-you came?" He uttered, eyes closing again.

Myeong Jo put her palm over his forehead. The fever hadn't decreased. It was

just like it was in the morning.

Tension and worries were seen in her eyes. "Oppa, I bought some medicine

for you. You have to eat them."

Saying, she opened her 13 year old handbag and took the medicine out.

Yoon Gi looked at her. She looked at him too.

"What?" she asked.

He sighed, "You didn't buy them, did you?"

Myeong Jo gulped down her throat. She immediately moved her gaze away from his

eyes. She tightened her grips.

"Stop borrowing money, Myeong Jo! I told you not to. It's better not to

buy than borrow!" despite his high fever, he yelled at her, sitting

upright.

Myeong Jo gulped, lowering her head.

Yoon Gi pressed his lips into a thin line, "Take some money from my drawer

and return the money back to the owner, got it?"

She didn't nod.

"I said do you understand?" he asked again.

Tears began forming in her eyes. She bit her lips to stop crying. But she

failed. Tears fell one by one.

Yoon Gi, seeing his sister crying, without any hesitation, pulled her close to

his warm body. He patted her head softly. Myeong Jo kept crying on her

brother's shoulder.

"I'm sorry. I-I...my brother is sick but I can't buy medicine for him. I'm

so sorry...it hurts me to see you like this." she mumbled in her cries.

He kept stroking her hair.

"I'm fine. I'll be okay soon." he said to console her.

Myeong Jo sniffled, wiping her whole face. She pulled away and sat in front of

him, lowering her head down.

"I-I got my salary today. But I had to pay back our parent's debt. So it

all got spent. I wanted to save some for your medicine but the fee was so

less." she explained and he listened.

"It's okay. I understand. So return the money back tomorrow, okay?"

She nodded.

She looked at him, "I'm sorry I can't do anything for you. You always take

care of me. but I can't. I'm so sorry."

"Yah, Yah! What's with all these sorrys? I told you to stop saying them. I

am fine, okay? Now go rest. I will take the medicine." He tugged himself

back to bed.

Myeong Jo nodded and left his room immediately.

Changing her clothes, she laid down on her bed on an empty stomach. There was

no food in the refrigerator. She began thinking how her life had been all these

years.

Her parents used to gamble a lot. Even after their children were born, they

wouldn't stop. At one time, they lost 3 times straight and had to pay back a

huge amount. Before they could pay back, both of them committed suicide.

Leaving their 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter to survive on their own

and carry out their sins and punishments.

Since then, Yoon Gi's been taking care of her. He applied for so many part

times and did errands for neighbours to feed his little sister along with

paying back his parent's debt. When she grew up, she began working hard like

her brother. Together both of them had spent their whole life with struggles,

pains and sorrow.

This flat was their only pride. Often they had to go to sleep without any food. They couldn't buy fancy clothes as they

couldn't afford to buy even a spare outfit. Life's been miserable for them. Not

like other siblings who were happily living with their parents.

Myeong Jo felt regret and guilty for her brother. Sadly she couldn't take care

of him like he did. He was her mother, father, brother, friend and everything.

She didn't have any friends as she gave up high school. She didn't know anyone

else beside him. To her, Yoon Gi was everything.

She knew her brother loved her so much. Yet she felt like a burden to him.

Sometimes she felt that if she wasn't here, her brother would had got rid of a

burden and at least got married.

Myeong Jo sighed heavily. She closed her eyes as bad memories were flashing in

front her.

She remembered the times when she found a coin and dropped it into the well,

wishing for a healthy happy life. She remembered the time she asked a

grandmother who looked as fair as a fairy to make her brother happy. She

always, even now, before going to sleep, looked at the night sky and wished to

all the dead stars that were brightening without any reason.

"Please, please...just somebody who would change my life. Someone to love

me..."

That's how passed all her 23 years life. Wishes unfulfilled, life unhappy.

----------------

The next morning,

Myeong Jo woke up early. She did her morning routine and went to wake her

brother up.

"Wakey, wakey..." she pulled the curtains away.

Yoon Gi showed no movements.

"Oppa, wake up." she pulled the blanket aside. Putting her hand on

his forehead, she smiled. The fever was gone.

"Oppa! You're alright! The fever's gone!" she yelled so loudly that

he woke up.

He groaned and got back to sleep again.

"Come on, get up. Or else, you'll be

late." she said before going out of the room.

Of course, there was no breakfast for them. So both of them went out for their

work with an empty stomach.

--------------

Yoon Gi

always returned home before Myeong Jo. Usually when she returned home, she

found him cooking (if they had food) or sleeping or resting. But today was

different. It was rather shocking.

Myeong Jo's boss gave her an early leave as she looked so weak. Her boss was

kind enough to do that.

Myeong Jo returned home early. When she entered inside the flat, she found two

pair of shoes. One waa her brother's and the other one was...

A girl's?

Her eyes

widened. No one has ever visited their flat. Was she a friend or co-worker of

Yoon Gi's?

Myeong Jo made her way to her brother's room. Of course she wanted to know the

girl visiting them. Without knocking, she opened the door as always.

"Opp--" her words stopped upon seeing the scene in front of her.

A shirtless Yoon Gi was kissing a woman. Their

kiss was so rough and passionate as if it was going to something else.

Not acknowledging her presence, he was continuing the kiss, pushing her on the

bed. Myeong Jo's eyes filled with disgust and shock. Her brother was having

something behind her.

For a moment, she felt nothing but anger. She couldn't believe her brother was

doing this.. Right now, he was giving his attention towards another woman. That

too secretly.

She clenched onto her fist, bitting her teeth.

"Oppa!" she shouted, the whole room echoed with her voice.

Yoon Gi broke the kiss deliberately and looked at her, shocked. The woman whose

dress was almost ripped, pulled the bed sheet over her quickly, widening her

eyes at her.

Myeong Jo's eyes were asking for an explanation. She was staring at her brother

with so much rage and grudge. Yoon Gi wiped his mouth and finally asked,

"What're you doing here? Why so early?"

"So this is it? You were having a relationship before I come home?"

she asked.

Yoon Gi's face had annoyance. He gave the woman an apologetic look and dragged

his sister out of the room to another room, pulling by her hand.

"Let go of me!" she pulled away from his grip.

Yoon Gi commanded, "You better not interfere in this matter."

"Me? Interfering? Look who's talking! You're the one who's been--"

she couldn't utter as she was feeling disgusted.

"Yeah, so what? So what if I was doing something before you came? Don't I

deserve too? I have desires too!" he yelled.

Myeong Jo couldn't keep her boiling mind down, "Then you could've told me.

How can you hide this from me? We had no secrets between us!"

"Stop making it a big matter, Myeong Jo."

"Yeah, I come home early and find my only brother, my only close one left

in the world, ******* a girl that too without my knowledge!" Myeong Jo

yelled back.

"Why do I have to tell you everything? I have some privacy too!" Yoon

Gi ran his fingers through his hair.

"That's the point! I never hid a thing from you! Every day, I pray to God,

to all the stars to make our life happier. To change everything! I worked hard,

you worked hard! We both suffered. We both cried. But we both are each other's

strength." She paused.

Then she continued, "I don't even know what love is. All I know is what

you do to me is love. I know love is much more than that. I want to feel that

too. And here you are with another woman!"

"God, you're my sister, Myeong Jo! Do you expect me to have pleasure with

you?" Yoon Gi shot back.

Myeong Jo's eyes widened, "No! All I wanted was your happiness. Your happiness is mine so you could've told me. I

could've been happy too."

"Stop. Just stop. You already are a burden to me. I've to work day and

night to feed you. Or else, I would've married a girl till now. I have to take

care of you that's why I don't find time for myself! So stop complaining!"

.

.

.

.

The room

filled with silence after his shouting.

She was right. She was a burden.

Her eyes widened at his statement.

"You heard me? You, Myeong Jo are an obstruction for me. You are a load to

me! For you, I have to stay home when I should be seeing girls. I should be

having a family of my own while I'm taking care of my sister now! You are a

curse, Myeong Jo! You will never deserve love! I pitied you so you got a bit of

my mercy and love. No one will value you or love you!"

They say when people are angry, even the right things sound bad to them. Yoon

Gi didn't know what he was blabbering. Right now, he was angry with the fact

that he got exposed in front of his sister, having fun with a woman. He had

this relationship for a long time without her knowledge. He hid it from her,

thinking if he told her, she would be happy but also at the same time, would be

hurt. Because deep down, he knew, Myeong Jo also wanted to be like girls around

her age who dated happily, had a cute boyfriend and what not.

He just said some words that he didn't mean at all. It was his devil anger speaking.

Myeong Jo stared at the man who raised her. All his life, he gave his time to

her. All his life, he said that she was a flower to him. And now his true

colors came out.

Her heart broke into pieces. Her voice cracked slowly. And tears from the heart

were falling down.

Seeing her crying, Yoon Gi came back to his senses. He realized he may had

committed a big mistake. He hurt his sister. His baby sister.

"M-Myeong Jo-ah..." he wanted to hug her right now, feeling guilty.

Myeong Jo's cries were so painful. Her life's already been worse. Now this!

"I-I didn't mean to..." he tried to explain.

Myeong Jo ran passed him quickly, crying. Yoon Gi surprised by her action

called her, "Myeong Jo!"

She didn't listen. She opened the door and ran outside. Yoon Gi put on a shirt

and ran outside too. She cried like hell and ran like a horse. Yoon Gi tried to

follow her but eventually lost her.

Myeong Jo ran to where her feet could take her. She didn't want to live

anymore. Her whole life was a waste. She troubled her brother. Because of her,

he couldn't be happy. He could've left her and got married but he always was

there for her. It was her fault not to realize it.

She didn't know where she reached as she was too focused on crying her heart

out. Until she opened her eyes and saw she was already on the edge of the

cliff.

The night looked painfully beautiful. There were stars, moon and the Neowise

Comet. The comet was so bright and moving so slowly. It's been in the sky since

the last week. The cold wind was blowing her hair in the air.

Myeong Jo's tears were flowing down like a river. A life with no parents, no

friends, only a brother to love you. A life with no happiness, with poverty,

with sorrow. A life where if you get your salary, you have to give them to someone

else. A life you have to go to sleep with an empty stomach. A life where you

never received love. A life where despite your everyday tries, your wishes

weren't fulfilled.

"There's no point in living anymore." she mumbled, her voice fading

away.

Myeong Jo decided to end her life. At least her brother would be spending his

life without her as a burden.

She wiped her tears and looked down the edge. One step she took, there was no

going back. Either she could go back and continue to be a loveless burden or

she could end this terrible life right away.

Standing

on the edge of the cliff, she one last time looked at the giant bright comet in the dark night sky. Thinking whether

or not she should end her struggling life.

"Please save me. Please, someone change my life. Please, I need a person

to love me. To realize my existence. Please just this once, grant my last wish!

I want to smile like an ordinary girl too."

That was the last thing she remembered before she made herself fall down on her

own will.

She, leaving the world, won't make any difference to anyone. So why not do

this?

Myeong Jo was falling down the cliff in front of the Neowise Comet and the

Moon. She shut her eyes and a tear escaped her eyes. This is how her life

ended.

But she didn't know something granted her last wish.

Chapter 2 - Change of Fate

She

thought her life was finished. That was the last time she breathed. That was

the last she saw the world and the only witnesses of her suicide were the moon

and the comet.

At least that's what she thought.

Her heart was still beating. She slowly opened her eyes, everything looked

blurry. Her whole body was warm and she felt herself laying on a comfortable

bed. She felt weak to turn her head or eyes.

Her sight was getting clear as seconds passed. She finally saw a room. A big

spacious room that was almost like one apartment. She was laying on a king

sized bed, comfy blanket tugged inside and pillows beside her. The ceiling over

was white in color. The temperature around was temperate for her. In a word,

she felt comfortable.

She felt something strange with her hand as if something was touching her. She

slowly turned her head to her left and saw a man; resting his head on the edge

of the bed, holding her hand. For a minute, Myeong Jo didn't budge. She was so

weak to even think inside her mind.

The man beside was sleeping with his head burried to the edge, holding her soft

hand. Myeong Jo tried to remember what happened.

Then all hit her straight. She recalled everything! Her sorrowful life, her

brother, her decision to end her life. She even recalled that she jumped. And

there's no way anyone was gonna survive that fall. She clearly remembered that

she was falling down the cliff. She was practically dying.

Then how come she's here? Why was she still breathing? Why on earth was she

still alive? Was she back to her hell life?

She began taking deep breaths. Not knowing what to do or not. She slowly

regained her energy, enough to talk or move her limbs. She pulled her hand away

from the man's grip quickly. By the sudden movement, the man woke up too. His

eyes widened to see her, full of shock.

Myeong Jo firstly didn't want to wake him up. Now that he's up and staring at

her, she couldn't help but to look at him too.

"M-Myeong Jo-ah? You're awake?" The man asked, hopping on the bed.

His lips had the brightest smile as if he found a light in the darkness.

Myeong Jo's eyes were still locked with his.

"Oh my God! Thank Goodness. You're up, my Jagiya..." saying, he

pulled her to his chest and covered her completely inside his embrace.

Shocked by his action and touch, Myeong Jo wanted to push him away and scream.

But she was too weak to do that. A lot of things were going inside her mind.

First of all, she didn't know him. Second, right now, she should be dead

then why was she here? Third, why was the man calling her Jagiya?

Among thinking all these in her mind, she heard him saying, "I'm so sorry.

I shouldn't have let you go hiking all alone. If I was there with you, you

wouldn't had fallen. I'm so sorry."

That's it!

She pushed him away and moved away from him. The man was surprised to see her

reaction. Myeong Jo didn't know what to say so after calculating many words,

the first thing she said was,

"L-Look, I think you've mistaken me for s-someone else."

His eyes widened and blinked a few times, confused.

"I-I am not...who you are thinking to be. I'm sorry, do I know you?"

she asked.

The man's jaw dropped in shock. He stared at her for a while and let out,

"M-Myeong Jo, I'm your husband."

The word husband made Myeong Jo fall from the sky. Husband? Hers? When? How?

Why?

She clutched her eyebrows, "H-Husband?"

He nodded slowly.

"No. I never married anyone." she said.

"Where's my brother? Yoon Gi Oppa?" she called him, thinking he was

here.

The man worriedly asked then, "Are you okay? Do you need more rest?"

Before she could say something, the large door opened, revealing a doctor and

two guards. Was this an ancient era? Why did they have guards instead of

security?

"Ah, Doctor. Right on time! Please check my wife. She's...I don't know,

acting different." The man stood up from the bed to allow the doctor to

sit.

"It's okay, Your Majesty." The doctor smiled.

Myeong Jo surprisingly asked, "M-Majesty?"

All of them looked at her.

"Is something wrong, Your Highness?" the doctor asked her politely.

Did he just call her Your Highness?

"Why are you calling me Your Highness?" she was totally clueless

about this mess.

The doctor chuckled at her. She looked at the man who was just surprised.

"Because you are the Queen of The Kingdom of Busan. Shouldn't I call you

that?" the doctor chuckled.

All Myeong Jo knew was she was not someone they were thinking. Queen? Busan?

Kingdom? Husband? Hiking? None of them made sense.

She held her head in between her hands as the headache was increasing more with

unknown questions. She just wanted to go back. Go back to her brother. What was

going on?

"Are you okay, Your Highness?" the doctor asked.

"Myeong Jo, tell him if you are having any problem." The man urged

her a bit.

Myeong Jo didn't reply. She was so confused, lost inside her own thoughts.

Finally she spoke, "Look! I am not your wife (pointing her finger at the

man) and I am also not The Queen (pointing her finger at the doctor). I don't

know what the hell is going on. But I don't think I am in the right place. You

guys are mistaking me for someone else. I'm not even supposed to be living

right now. I was dying! I don't know what's going on."

The room filled with an awkward silence. Everyone blankly stared at their ill

queen, confused.

The doctor gulped down and looked at the man. The man's face was showing no

expression but inside his heart was thumping to see his wife like this.

"Then, can you tell me how many fingers I am holding?" He held out 3

of his fingers up.

"3." Myeong Jo rolled her eyes.

He put his hand down, "Now can you tell us your name?"

She gulped slightly, "M-Min Myeong Jo."

"Ah, I see. Then do you know this man over here?" he pointed to the

man.

She shook her head.

"Y-You don't remember me?" The man asked surprisedly in a painful

voice.

"Your Majesty, let me handle this." The doctor assured him.

"Now Miss, what's the last thing you remember?" He asked, smiling.

Myeong Jo thought for some seconds before answering, "T-That I was falling

down."

"I see. You don't remember that you are The Queen?" He asked.

She shook her head.

The doctor sighed and looked at the man.

"Your Majesty, what I think is Your Highness may be suffering from

amnesia."

The man's lips parted in complete shock. He had never imagined this. She saw

the man's face breaking down into pieces and him trying his best not to act

weak. Poor guy.

"You see, she remembers that she fell down from the cliff. But she doesn't

remember anything else before that. Her head injury caused this." The

doctor kept explaining.

Myeong Jo was taking a quick scan of everything. What was going on? What was

happening? How did they know she fell down from the cliff? Did they rescue her

from there? Why did he say she had amnesia? She remembered everything, from her

birth to that night. Then why?

"I'm so sorry, Your Majesty. My sympathies are with you. But don't worry.

If you show her things around, the things

she used to do, if you try to make her remember all those, she may find her

memory back. And you've to adjust and believe what she says. You must listen to

her and support her every word. She needs your care the most." The doctor

advised the man.

The man lowered his head, trying not to cry.

"T-thank you." He managed to let out.

The doctor bowed to him and then the guards took him out of the room, leaving

both of them alone once again in the room.

Myeong Jo sat straight on the bed. She was so confused that she wasn't moving

at all. She didn't even look at the man.

The man too didn't find the courage to look at her. He calmed himself down and

wiped his eyes in a second. He looked at Myeong Jo and said,

"D-do you want to eat something?"

She got startled by his question. Though she was hungry like a bear, she shook

her head. He seemed to win her a little just by that little question.

The man sat down on the edge of the bed, making it creak a little. Myeong Jo

felt uncomfortable but she didn't show it. He remained quiet for a moment

before speaking in the most soft, gentle voice she ever heard,

"I'm Park Jimin. The King of The Kingdom of Busan."

Myeong Jo looked at him blankly. She liked his name. All she could was just to

nod.

"I-I know you don't remember me. But you and I were married. About 2 years

ago." he blushed while saying. He didn't know how to work things out with

her. So he started with something she might like.

Without any reason, Myeong Jo felt herself blushing too.

"I'll leave you to rest now." He stood up from the bed. Then he made

his way out of the spacious room, closing the door.

Myeong Jo laid her back on the bed. Nothing was clicking inside her head. Why

was all of these happening? Maybe if she got some rest, she'll be able to

figure out more. So slowly she took a deep breath and forced herself to sleep.

---------------

As the

beautiful morning sun rays fell on her sleeping face, the room filled with

sweet aroma of jasmine flower and temperate wind; causing her to wake up.

Myeong Jo opened her eyes and sat upright slowly. For the first time in her

life, she finally had a comforting beautiful sleep. She was feeling so relaxed

as if nothing happened.

She stretched her arms. She relaxed her shoulders by loosening them a bit.

However, she was still stressed about the incident. What exactly happened?

Suddenly there was a knock in the door. Myeong Jo definitely didn't expect

someone to come. Clearing her voice, she said, "Come in."

The door opened and revealed Jimin. He was smiling at her. His smile was so

real. Myeong Jo bit her lips awkwardly.

"You awake?" he asked and entered the room.

He had this beautiful smile in his lips all the time. He stood beside her bed

and looked at her, "Are you okay now? Feeling better?"

She nodded slowly.

He pulled the curtains away, reaviling the beautiful nature right outside. The

whole room became more bright as the sound of sweet birds chirping filled in.

"So what do you want to eat?" he asked excitedly with a clap.

Myeong Jo stared at him.

"Are you not upset?" She asked with somehow seriously.

"About what?"

"About everything."

Jimin's smile turned into a little smile as he lowered his eyes. "We can't

help it, can't we? You losing your memory is not anyone's fault. Why should I

be upset? My wife is all alive, safe and sound beside me. I don't need anything

else."

Myeong Jo knew she was about to blush. But she managed to hide them. She

cleared her throat and hand-fanned herself, "Why it's so hot around

here?"

"What? You feeling shy because I called you my wife?" Jimin cheesily

smiled as if he could read her mind.

"No. Not at all." Myeong Jo lied under her nose.

"Really? You used to love it when I called you like that." He began

chuckling.

Myeong Jo's cheeks couldn't stop turning pink. "Ah, why are you being so

cheesy?"

Jimin just laughed.

"I need a shower." Myeong Jo stood up from the bed.

"Then I'll inform the maids to prepare for your shower." Jimin said

and she nodded.

He was about to go out of the room when Myeong Jo called him,

"Jimin-ssi."

He turned back to her with a smile. It hurt him to see his wife calling him

like that. But what to do?

"C-can you give me a tour around the kingdom?" she asked, trying to

sound as gentle as possible.

He nodded, "Of course."

Then he went out of the room.

Myeong Jo had to figure everything out. She has to look around in order to find

clues for the incident. What made her come here? How and why? She clearly

remembered everything. But a life different than this life. She had to find out

the truth. Because definitely she's somewhere she should not be.

Chapter 3 – Scar

After having a relaxed bath, Myeong Jo

stood in front of the mirror, looking at herself. She was the same girl. The

same face yet she became a bit more beautiful and elegent. Exactly like a

Queen. She wondered if she was wearing makeup because she couldn't recognize

herself.

After putting on a long dress that the maids arranged for her, she walked out

of the room for the first time. Daebak, she really was inside a royal castle.

Was this time lapse? Did she transport to the past? No. It wasn't possible. The

surroundings were modern. The clothes they wore were totally modern. She had a

large LED TV in her room. Jimin even had an iPhone. That explained this wasn't

the past.

She slowly walked downstairs and all the maids and guards present there, bowed

to her. Myeong Jo stood quietly like a robot, caught off-guard. Was she

supposed to bow back too?

Suddenly someone whispered into her ear from behind, "Just smile a bit and

walk where you wanted to go."

She turned behind, surprised to see Jimin. He had his hands inside his pockets

and smiling at her.

She did as he said and walked towards the right corridor though she didn't know

where she was going. Jimin kept following her from behind.

"Are you sure you know where you are going?" Jimin teased her from

behind.

"Aish, of course not." Myeong Jo whined.

Jimin laughed and walked beside her, "We'll just take a walk around the

Kingdom and the garden.

Both of them had a long tour inside the castle. Jimin showed her all around the

palace. The castle was so huge, it was easy to get lost. It was almost

afternoon. Jimin took her to their garden. The garden was twice as large as any

other garden. Also it was at the same time spacious and filled with giant trees

and plants.

Myeong Jo loved nature. She always admired its beauty. She felt happy to be in

the garden.

"See that swing over there?" Jimin pointed to her right. There was a

swing covered with flowers. It was swinging on its own slightly.

"You used to sit there whenever you found free time." he stated.

Myeong Jo nodded as she walked to the swing. She sat on it and began swinging

it lightly with her feet. Jimin stood in front of her, slightly smiling.

"How old was I?" Myeong Jo asked him.

He answered, "23."

So the age and name were same.

"Was I too...rude?" finding no other word to express, she just used

that.

Jimin laughed and replied, "No! No, you were the sweetest person I had

ever seen in the world."

Again that blushy feeling. Jimin realized he shouldn't had said that. He

lowered his eyes and bit his lips.

Myeong Jo felt guilty too. She knew that though she was his wife, he couldn't

treat her like he used to. He may had loved her very much. Myeong Jo just

wanted to fix everything right. Deep inside, she knew she's at a place she

shouldn't be. She had to find out everything.

"Jimin-ssi, I'm very sorry. I know you must be feeling so bad and mad for

everything. I'm sorry for not remembering you." Myeong Jo uttered, facing

the ground.

Jimin immediately knelt down on the ground to face her. He cupped her face in

his palms and said, "No, Myeong Jo. Don't say that. It's not your fault.

It was my fault that I let you go all alone on the mountains. If I was there

with you, I could've saved you from falling down. Don't say sorry. It hurts

me."

Other than her brother, no one ever said something to her like this. Myeong Jo

stared deep into Jimin's eyes. If just saying sorry could hurt him, imagine how

hurt he would be to lose her. Myeong Jo, in her heart, felt an unknown emotion.

That too for the first time. She liked his touch, his words right now. She

wanted them.

Jimin slowly removed his hands from her face and gulped down his throat. To

avoid the situation that just occurred between them, Myeong Jo asked,

"I fell down from a cliff right?"

He looked at her and nodded slowly.

"How did you find me?" she asked, still looking into his eyes.

"It was getting late. I called you and you didn't pick up. Then I called

the other two guards that were sent with you. They said they were trying to

find you everywhere but you couldn't be found." He paused.

Then he continued, "With other royal guards, I drove to the cliff and

joined their search. After about an hour, I found you first. It was a miracle

you weren't bleeding that much."

Then he slowly told everything. Myeong Jo didn't get to know anything as she

wanted. But little information also helped.

At night, she ate dinner and was resting in her bedroom. She still hadn't

recovered yet. As she sat on the bed, she began thinking about everything.

That night, something must've had happened. Something different. She thought

hard for anything to click inside her mind.

Instead of clicking inside her mind, the door clicked open and Jimin came

inside. Myeong Jo sat upright, smiling slightly at him.

"Thought you might need this." he handed a diary to her.

She took it in her hands, "What is it?"

He sat on the edge of the bed, "Your diary."

She used to write a diary?

"I think you wrote some memories and stuff there. If you read them, you might

be able to adjust with everything. And also--" he stopped.

"Also what?" she raised one eyebrow.

He shook his head, "Nothing."

"Also remember you, right?" Myeong Jo read his face.

He became surprised and made his eyes bigger like a puppy.

"You must've really loved your wife. You can't even bear not to be

recalled by her." she chuckled at him.

"I-It's not like that." Jimin also smiled a bit.

"Well, I'll go sleep in another room then. Good night." He wished

her.

Of course Jimin wanted to sleep with his wife. But he had no other choice. So

he left her alone in their shared bedroom and sneaked out to another chamber.

If someone saw the King and the Queen not sleeping together, rumors won't take

too long to spread.

Myeong Jo laid her back down on the headboard. She began reading the diary. She

noticed that her handwriting was the same as her. So here it goes:

"Entry

1:

Dear Diary, I've seen in dramas that girls share everything in their diaries

then they feel good so I thought to start too. Though I'm no ordinary girl. I'm

a princess.

When I was 4, I lost my parents in a war. Since then I've been alone. Well not

alone actually. I mean I had Ms. Oh Hong Joo, the head of the royal household.

She was the one to raise me. Either way, I was so lonely and depressed. My

kingdom needed a ruler. So I had sat over the throne when I was 18. They said I

was a resemblance of my mother.

I ruled over the kingdom for 2 years. I was indeed a great Queen. At least

that's what I heard.

So tomorrow is my wedding. I know why all on a sudden. I'm getting married as

my father decided before his death. I never knew he even fixed the groom. The

man is The King of Busan. His name is Park Jimin. We haven't talked with each

other more than 2 times. So I'm so nervous to start this new life with him. I

just hope he treats me fairly, kindly. I just want love. There was a lapse of

love in my heart. Love and care is all I need."

Myeong Jo closed the diary. She had many similarities with this girl. She also

lost her parents when she was 4. And her whole life was also with loneliness,

sorrow and pain. No one was there to love her or care for her.

Myeong Jo became more confused. Who was this girl?

---------------

Myeong Jo spent her days in the Kingdom

always reading the diary. To be honest, she enjoyed reading it. The girl wrote

every beautiful moment of hers with Jimin and it felt so good to read them. Of

course, Myeong Jo never experienced love. Reading romantic moments made her

heart flutter.

5:

Jimin's the kindest, sweetest person in the world. I feel so happy around him.

I was a bit scared that he would be grumpy but he welcomed me warmly into his

life. Today, he proposed to go to the waterfalls with me. I'm so excited! This

is gonna be our first date!"

"Entry 11:

I can't believe we kissed. We kissed! Oh my merciful god! He kissed me. I feel

so overwhelmed by his love. How can a person love another person this way? I

thought love had to be created by both. I never knew love doesn't even take a year

to build within. Jimin is really a great husband. He always listens to me,

supports me, makes me laugh. He said I was the Light that entered his life to

brighten up his heart. Isn't that so romantic? Ah, I'm so shy..."

Myeong Jo was smiling ear to ear reading them. She felt happy for this girl.

Though the girl was just like her, she felt happy to see her happy. Myeong Jo

was sitting on the swing, swinging lightly. She was so deeply focused into

reading that she didn't notice Jimin standing at a close distance, watching

her.

Jimin was at the same time happy and sad. Happy that his wife was safe and

sound, living her days without him happily. And sad that he couldn't hug her or

kiss her like he used to every day. He missed all those old days. Those days

where every day felt like a special day. His wife made him happier more than

anyone. Every day they used **** **** to each other. Those were special. But he

still believed today or tomorrow, one day his wife will remember him.

Myeong Jo closed the diary. She stretched her body a bit when she suddenly

glanced upon Jimin.

She realized it's been days she last talked to him. And it wasn't right. He

deserved her. He deserved his wife. Though she didn't feel like his wife, she

had to make him loved too.

"Jimin-ssi, come here!" she signaled him to come.

Jimin walked over to her. She patted the space beside her for him to sit on the

swing. Jimin first hesitated a bit but eventually sat beside his wife. For the

first time, they sat so close to each other.

Silence took over between them.

"So...you've been reading the diary? Does it help?" Jimin nervously

asked.

"Yeah...the memories feel familiar." she lied. The diary felt like a

story book to her. She didn't remember anything that was written.

She looked at Jimin, "Can I ask you something?"

"Anything."

"Well, I wrote that I lost my parents in a war. How did I? I didn't write

them down." It felt so awkward to say "I" when she cleary felt

she's not.

Jimin thought for a while, "You once said your family was attacked during

a trip. The enemies killed your father and mother. When they were about to kill

you, the other royal guards came for your rescue. You survived but you had a

scar on your back, caused by an arrow."

Myeong Jo's eyes widened, "S-Scar?"

Jimin nodded, "One of those merciless men aimed at you from behind. You

were so little yet you ran in a zigzag line. So though the arrow hit you, it

missed your heart. So you lived."

That's when the thought hit her head. That was the clue! The scar!

Myeong Jo stood up suddenly and ran towards her bedroom. Jimin, being surprised

by her behaviour kept calling her from behind and running behind her.

She went to her room and threw the diary aside. She entered the spacious

bathroom, locking the door. She stood in front of the mirror and began

undressing herself.

She had to check whether the scar was there or not. If the scar was there, that

meant she was the Queen of The Kingdom of Busan and the wife of Jimin. But if

the scar wasn't there, that means she was not whom everyone was thinking. She

was that girl whose life was so miserable, struggling, poor.

She lowered her upper dress and began turning back. That's when she stopped.

She was scared.

Scared to look.

Myeong Jo didn't look at the mirror yet. She thought what if the scar was

there. She could live happily with Jimin. He was that kind of person she always

wanted. If she allowed him, he'll love her till the end as his wife. She will

be a Queen. A happy life waited for her.

But if the scar wasn't there, that meant whatever this place was, Myeong Jo

shouldn't stay here. She didn't deserve all these. She was taking someone's

place! She was still the same girl. That same old girl who took her own life.

More panic and confusion will start if the scar wasn't there.

Myeong Jo's heart began beating fast. She didn't know what to do. She was too

afraid to check the scar on her back. She didn't want to go back to her

struggling, poor life where she's nothing but a burden. She wanted to stay here

as a Queen, as a wife. She had someone that could keep her loved forever. She

didn't want to leave this place.

But after taking a deep breath, she slowly turned her neck to the mirror and

looked at the reflection of her bare back in the mirror.

There was no scar.
