It is a cold night . A man is riding his cycle and shivering in the cold. His face is covered by a sual because it can't be seen. He is humming a song to avoid the cold.

"Ei poth jodi na sesh hoi tobe kemon hoto tumi bolo to hmmm hm."

He stopped before a two story house and began to stretch . After that he goes to the backward wall and clings on to it and jumps on the other side. He is crossing the garden and making a whistle sound until he stops under an open window.

" Hey Ram , what's wrong with my luck. Now I have to sneak around at night to meet my lawfully married wife."

He climbed the distance by the water pipe and reached the window.

"Rashi.. rashi.." he was making a slight sound which seemed a bit scary.

A girl was sleeping in the bed and she sprung in the bed after she heard him .

"Oh, somor you. My God" she was really shocked.

"Why are you so surprised."

"No actually I took a nap while waiting for you. I have a dream that my dad is going to kill you."

She started to shed tears. While somor held her in his arms and comforted her.

"Hey , come down now we don't have the whole night."

Rashi opened the cabinet and took one of her sarees. Somor made a knot and tied it with the window lock hole. He came down to the  brink and stretched his hand to help her.

"I don't think I can do this today please . If I fell from here it would be your fault." Rashi was whining.

"You will fall if I let you fall. So stop whining and come down or your Hitler dad will wake up first "

Somor carefully helped rashi to come down. But at the last step rashi jumped a little hard. A slight sound came out from the ground. Suddenly the lamp lit in the ground floor room. A deep voice was coming from there.

"Sorola, did you hear some noise. I think someone jumped in the garden."

"Uff, don't start your goendagiri now. Maybe a stray cat was there or a dog."

"No,you don't know my tension. I don't believe the dacoit son in law of mine , not even in my dreams who knows maybe he will sneak around in night.."

Until now both of them were sweating in the freezing cold silently .Now somor spoke out of the blue.

"See, I knew your hitlar dad is a daroga. And what did he said I am a dacoit?"

"Hey don't say anything about my dad or I will return from here." Rashi said in a low voice."she jestured him to stay silent.

"Meaoww meaoww."

Her mother's voice came from the hall.

"See i said it's a cat . Noww stop your investigation and sleep."

Somor exhaled in fresh air. He hugged her tightly and said ."that's why I like you."

Both of them crossed the gate and somor carrier her in his cycle. He was paddling in a hurricane speed and screaming madly. Rashi was laughing

Loudly. He wanted to run far from there. These two young lives had the full taste of life that day. They had fear, excitement, and enjoyment of the reunion. When they came out of their new found joy and assured that they came enough far somor stopped in a barran place and hugged her tightly, she kissed him in forehead, cheeks. Somor drowned  his lips in rashi's. They were lost in themselves for a while. Then rashi said stop now soon will dawn break. No they barely did anything that a newly married couple would do. So he still was hugging her tightly and rashi wanted to stop but subconsciously her fingers were playing with his hair. Now somor spoke first.

"How long will we be like this. Will you never come to my home. No that's our home now."

"I don't know until dad gets the permission from Devi "

"Oh will not your Devi be angry because when you meet me secretly at night." He said a little  sense of sarcasm.

"No because she agreed in our marriage so there is no problem if I met you. Father will be angry if he knows."

"So if she never agrees then you will never come to me!"

"I don't know."

Somor and rashi are a newly married couple who married 1 month ago. And it is their 3rd excursion to meet secretly. Rishi's father is the powerful Jamindar( currently doing family business) of haldia and somor's father is a renowned lawyer in his area. It was totally an ordinary arranged marriage but the twist started after the marriage. Rashi's parents started to search for a groom after her graduation. But no one was Jamindar Babu's liking. He is a great devotee of Ma Kali . Every important decision in their house would be taken by Devi's permission. They put a "Bel" leaf in Devi's toes and if it falls then it means Devi had  not given her permission. This superstition is coming down in generating now. Now Devi didn't give her permission for any of the men they chose for rashi until somor. So his father has to accept somor's proposal even though he doesn't match their status. Somor and rashi were happy with the choice . Somor was young handsome but still a simple boy just like she wanted and rashi was so beautiful that somor had a crush on her. Everything was right until the marriage. The next day when the groom was taking the bride with him Jamindar babu stepped in and said rashi will not go to their house cause ma didn't give the permission. When did he do that? Everyone was surprised. Both the families had a big quarrel over that and the groom's side returned without taking the bride. Now both of them are meeting secretly. Love blossomed in this 1 month and now they have become more than husband and wife a friend,mate and a loved one.

"No , it can't be this way anymore. Let's just flee from here and live in the far west ."

"No I am your wife and if we fled then both our parents will lose respect in society."

After thinking for a while somor said

"then do as I say from now on."

Rashi didn't get what somor said but before she asked anything else somor took her and boarded the cycle. He was about to make a peddle when a sound came from the forest yard. They were both shocked at that moment.

"Somor do something or If we are caught here today then my father will lose his face."

"Shh, always whining for your father. You wouldn't care even if l love or die."

"Dugga Dugga, what nonsense are you talking about..."

Before they could say anything a couple came out from the bushy area. Subodh 's jaw dropped in amusement. Rashi didn't really understand what happened but she got it when they came  out and were ready to escape with the scooter. Subodh almost ran towards them and pressed his shoulder tightly. The girl with him was also speechless like they had seen a ghost.

"Kanti, bro."

"Dada, you here."

He gulped and looked at rashi in wonder. Then they both got the situation.

"Oh you also."

"What also, we are married we meet whenever we want but you two are not in a very kind situation."

Kanti started to sweat  and he was constantly whipping his forehead.

"Dada let it go now. We are both culprits tonight, so let's just ignore each other and go our separate way from now on."

Kanti was about to fled from the situation when Somor talked in a deep voice.

"Where are you going bro , yes we are both culprits but I can stay quiet in one condition."

Both the couples were standing on a bridge. No sound was coming except their mumbling. The summary of the story that Kanti told  them was like this.

The girl with him is swarupa nice of the famous headmaster Bhattacharya. Swarupa has come here a few times in Puja and that's when they fall in love. But here they also have the same problem. The damn caste system, that's why Mr.Bhattacharya sent her back after having a suspension. And they are meeting today for the first time after that.

"Dada, you are also what I am feeling right now. So you should be more sympathetic towards me. Please even if you can't support us please don't tell your father about today. We will shut our mouths."

"So you have to. Otherwise you will face a great cyclone in the desert . But I can also talk to my father if you want."

"Hmm, I will not even touch a drop of water from here. I am the tantrik of Kalighat why should I stay in such a house.."

"Ma what are you saying ma I am like your son. What grave sin did I commit."

"Silly boy, wants to know what sin he committed"

The lady bursed into laughter. The whole house was shaking in intensity. Hi wife also woke up from this noise.

"Do you have any girl in your home who was born in 'Rohini' nakshatra?"

"Yes ma"

"I was passing by when I heard the voice of the omnipotent. Nonsense you tried to separate her from his life partner.?"

"No ma  he was not a Brahman."

"So what was lord Shiva was a king when Mata Parvati married him? He was the only man who could marry her. I am warning you if you fix her marriage anywhere else you will see the dead body of that boy."

"Ma is it the wish of a Kali? "

"I don't have anything to say. You will find a broken lamp in the puja Ghar . Which is the message of Ma. Jai Ma Kali, Jai Shiva Shambho."

The same has happened as the lady said to them . They found a broken lamp in the same spot. And Mr. Bhattacharya hurried to the lawyer's house to fix amendments.

"Wow you're such a good actor boudi."

"Swarupa also did a good job in placing the lamp"

"And whose idea it was?" Somor told in pride.

In the next both the marriage  and reception date has been fixed.when everyone was overwhelmed with joy and hugging to each family, Subodh wrote a separated one marriage invitation and placed it in the bag held by Kanti. He murmured in his ears

"Now plan B start from here. Go give it to your boudi 's house."

His eyes were shining and there was a little smrike in his lips.

Almost a week has passed since that incident. Rashi started to skip meals. She doesn't brush her hair, she even acts to be awake at night just like Somor asked her to do.Her mother cried  rivers for her. Jamindar Babu also feels sad for her but couldn't do anything.

"When do you plan to send Rashi to her house

Rashi's mother asked his father at the time of serving tea.

"What do you mean is it not her home?"

"You still need to maintain your arrogance? Just apologize to Somor's father."

"That cheap law servant! I will never apologize to him. I can feed my daughter for her whole life."

"You don't understand after marriage her husband's home is her home. You don't see your daughter's state right."

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Rashi's Mother came to open the door. She was shocked to see Kanti standing there. But she was happy that someone came from their house.

"Oh Kanti, come come all of a sudden in the morning? You should have been informed before."

"No no kaki, I just came to give a marriage invitation.

"Kanti you are getting married. We didn't hear anything?"

"No it is not me it's Dada's marriage. What can we do when our father decides to do this. He waited for one month."

Rashi's Mother burst into tears,

"Hey Maaa aaahh."

servant Hari was coming out of the kitchen and he was so spaced out that he slipped in the floor water. Jamindar Babu's cup dropped on the floor and the cup broke. So many messes happening at the same time.

Kanti knew it was quiet before a storm so he dropped the card and ran towards his cycle. Rashi's Father slowly goes to a room and comes out with a rifle.

"Where is that ashole ? How dare he come in person to invite his brother's wedding."

But Kanti left the place as soon as he felt the air was hot. So Jamindar Babu came inside after finding no one outside .

"I told you something bad will happen for sure. Now handle this situation."

"How dare you lawyer Mukujee. I will kill him today. Don't tell Rashi about anything now. I will break their truth at the time of the wedding.

Here Rashi passes this information to them. When Somor came to pick Rashi was sitting in her bed dressed in the red saree of her wedding and totally dressed like a bride. Somor was a little surprised.

"Rashi why are you dressed like this ? We decided to just switch names in the card right."

"But why, why couldn't you take me in front of my father? Why do we have to keep this hiding. After today we both are gonna start a new life no matter what. So let's get married another time. You take me in front of my father. If you take behind their back then my dad s concept of you having a cheap status."

"But Rashi I don't care about anything wouldn't you be hurt if we do this in front of your father"

"No matter what happened I will stay by your side today. Even if I have to die I can't step back now."

"That won't happen, trust me. We have to fight for what we want."

Here Jamindar Babu was dressing richer today. He was settling his moustache. When he asked Hari to give me the comb . Someone silently handed it to him.

"Where is Rashi? I came to take her back."

" she is in her room why did Mrs tell you to bring her?"

"No, but thank you FATHER IN LAW."

"What's there to thank about?" He asked while facing the mirror. The man behind him was already gone.

One second what?

"Harriii, bring my pistol."

Mr Chatterjee was running towards the stairs but no one knew from where a little amount of oil came on the floor. As expected he slipped and fell on the oily surface.

"Ufff, you rascal I will kill you damn Mukujees."

"Baba!!"

Rashi cried from the balcony. When they were about to flee from there.

"Oh , so there is that fox. Hari brought my rifle and catch  that bastered."

Rashi's Mother came and helped her husband to lift.

"My, God what happened? I beg you please don't fight with them they are our relatives."

"Here is your pistol Babu."

"You, good for nothing why are you so late? And who dropped an oil tank here."

Rashi's Mother was terrified when she changed the gaze at Hari. But Hari winked at her as if he was assuring her. When Jamindar babu reached they had already fled with a motor car. He targeted Somor and pressed the trigger but no bullets were released from the rifle.

"Hari you goat. Who asked you to give me an empty rifle. Uhhhh."
