Ruthless
Chapter 1- Myself
Once upon a time, I lived.
I lived a care free, stress free.... In a fantasy I created for myself. Making sure I was oblivious to peoples taunts and opinions.
Should have known it was a mistake. A mistake to think I could rely on someone.
My family, my siblings....my husband
I chuckle to myself as remember how I learned the lesson the hard way. How they taught me I was never one of them, will never be. No matter what I do, I'll never be enough for them.
The heart that was hanging by thread broke by the harsh words of my husband.
How he will never want me. How he was forced to live with me. How he was disgusted and wished I will be dead so he could be in peace.
With a smile on my face as I stood at the edge of the 28th floor balcony. I granted him divorce just a few minutes ago.
Only to take my life since I was only unwanted.
So my family and the love of my life could live their life happily... In peace...
That was the first decision I took for someone else. That was the first time I thought of someone else's happiness. Keeping their wish above mine.
Only to mess that up too and come back to where it all began... To my younger self who now have to face heartbreaks and setbacks all over again.
Chapter 2 - Disobey
I take in the scenery outside the window in my 19-year-old self.
My gaze vacant. My mind blank.
I did not want to think because I'm sure my old memories will arise, killing my intent to live now.
A roar of engine breaks my stupor of stare into the horizon.
My gaze fells on the Aston Martin that parks right in front of the porch. My hands turned cold as I watch the young man exits the car.
His gaze roam around until it fell on me.
His face stayed neutral as if he was staring at a stranger before he tears his eyes away and walks in the mansion.
I ignored these signs in last life, thinking if I tried more, just a little more, they will see me as theirs too but not this time.
I turn and walk in ignoring the hollow feel in my chest.
It is useless to cling onto something that has never existed and my feeling for this family had always been one-sided.
I lay back on the bed. Closing my eyes to find peace within myself by pushing down my inner chaos that makes my emotions go haywire.
A knock on the door disturbs me.
Clarissa Parker [FL]
*eyes closed* Come in
Maid
*head down as enter* Good evening, young miss. Master had summoned you to the family room. *bow*
Clarissa Parker [FL]
*eyes closed* You can leave
Maid
*hesitate* Miss, Master-
Clarissa Parker [FL]
*open eyes* *look at her coldly* Are you disobeying me?
Maid
*tremble* I would not dare, young miss. *scramble out*
I stared at the maid who left as if her life was on the line. It was because everyone knew not to mess with me. That is probably why even the people who I thought my family isolated me.
The cold and heartless Clarissa.
Clarissa Parker [FL]
*smirk sadly**close eyes again*
Chapter 3 - Back Home
It feels good to be back home.
I was spending my last three months in New Zealand attending a personal training arranged by dad.
I caught a silhouette at the west balcony when I walked in. That must be her.
The one who thinks she owns the family.
It is useless to talk about her as nothing is worth it in her.
I look around the hall as my mom and sister fuss over me while dad and brother sit a little farther yet close enough for me to know that they are glad about my arrival.
Except her.... She never cares, unless it is about herself.
Zara Parker [FL Stepmother]
God! Did those people there even fed you?!
Adrian Parker [FL Half-brother] [Twin 1]
Mom,I ate well. *neutral voice* Stop worrying yourself.
Susan Parker [FL Half-siter]
Stop it, Rian! You have lost so much weight! I'll whip you up something *nods and walks to the kitchen*
Aron Parker [FL Half-brother][Twin 2]
*snort* *mumble* I'm sitting here since morning, yet Su didn't even ask me if I want a drink!
Michael Parker [FL Father]
That is exactly why she did not ask you. *say while looking at his phone**neutral voice*
Ron glares at me when I smirk at him. No one appreciates a sloth.
My gaze moves to the staircase. It was empty, surprising me since she never misses a family gathering. I frown planning to ask dad to call her when I see her walking out.
Clarissa does not move from there. Her hands braced on the railing as she observes the family room from top.
Her eyes dart from one person to another. Her face filled with something I could not name of. My lips part to call her when someone else beat me to it.
Susan Parker [FL Half-siter]
Rissa! *happy and excited*
Su runs to Clarissa as if Clarissa will leave in any second and pulls her until they reach the hall.
Clarissa's face was devoid any emotion, simply following Su as if she was a mere puppet making me frown. What was she up to?
Susan Parker [FL Half-siter]
Look Rian is back from his trip! *happily chatting* I'm sure he has brought us gifts!
