𝑨 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒖𝒑 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓.

𝑨𝑳𝑳 𝑹𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻𝑺 𝑹𝑬𝑺𝑬𝑹𝑽𝑬𝑫, 𝑫𝑶 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝑻𝑹𝒀 𝑻𝑶 𝑺𝑻𝑬𝑨𝑳 𝑴𝒀 𝑩𝑶𝑶𝑲.

"No! I will not accept that invitation aunt Yuki. I am perfectly fine and capable of handling my business. You don't have to always meddle and try to dictate for me how I live my life."

Feeling extremely suffocated, I walked to the window and gently pushed it open to let in fresh air. I then closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, calming my nerves.

"I am not trying to dictate your life for you Ryo, it's been 8 months since the death of your parents and Yuri, how long are you going to live like this? You barely even go out."

I sighed heavily.

"That's because I don't want to go out. I don't find anything interesting, I just want to be alone. Why can't you just leave me alone? You're making my life hell again."

Tears welled up my eyes as I watched my aunt stare at me with an unreadable expression. Knowing that I'm hurting her with my words pains me but I still can't bring myself to forgive her. If she didn't start up a fight with my mom, none of them would have died.

"I know you blame me for the death of your parents and sister, if I hadn't started that fight then none of this would have happened. I'm sorry okay, I'm so sorry Ryo, if I could change the past then I immediately would change it without a second thought. I miss my sister too, I miss how happy we used to be, it's all my fault and I'm sorry. But it hurts me more to watch you shut the world out and lock yourself up in your room."

As much as I wanted to disagree with what she's saying, she's right. I shut everyone out including my best friend. I've locked myself at home ever since I graduated high school.

I received an invitation letter as a scholarship student a few months back and I haven't opened it since. My aunt wants me to accept it.

But accepting it would mean that I leave Japan, my childhood memories, my best friend to move all the way to the United States and a strange environment with a bunch of rich and talented kids.

I don't want to do any of that, I know I'm going to have a hard time adjusting to the whole place.

"Your mother graduated from that school, I graduated from that school too. We all graduated from Mystique High, it's a decision that's been made way before the passing of your parents. Yuri went to that school, it's unavoidable Ryo, you have no choice but to accept it." She smiled sweetly at me and walked away towards her room.

After much thoughts, I invited my best friend over. Turns out he also got an invitation from the same school, but he already accepted it. I was hurt at first cause he was going to leave me but now I'm cool with it.

"This definitely isn't your smartest idea, I can't believe you came up with something so wack."

My best friend's voice echoed through the silent kitchen.

"Do you even know what they're asking of me? To leave my life behind and move across continents to a strange school alone. I can already picture my life there, it's going to be hell." I huffed.

"What do you mean alone? I also got the letter too. You aren't alone, you have me. Whatever happens, we have to protect each other at all costs."

I sighed heavily. "Fine."

2 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒔 𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓

Yep! My plan failed. And we're now in Mystique High. And for some reasons, I am still in shock. As a matter of fact, shock is an understatement cause what I'm feeling right now is beyond shock. Everything looks so different, it's almost as if we're in a different world.

The campus is a sprawling maze of courtyards, gardens, and hidden alcoves, each with its own sense of wonder and discovery.

Mystique High University is a harmonious blend of Gothic and Renaissance styles, with grand stone buildings adorned with intricate carvings and ornate details.

The main entrance is a massive arched gateway, guarded by stone gargoyles that seem to come alive as you pass through. The moment you step inside, you're transported to a world where the boundaries of reality and imagination blur.

The central courtyard, known as the "Debate Square", is a vibrant hub of activity. Here, students from around the world gather to exchange ideas, debate philosophy, and immerse themselves in the intellectual atmosphere that permeates Mystique High.

Mystique High University is renowned for its diverse range of academic disciplines. The faculty consists of esteemed scholars, practitioners of magic, vampires, werewolves, elf's, mermaids and wise sages who guide and inspire students on their quests for enlightenment. The university though is ruled by werewolves.

It's been two weeks already and I still find it difficult to believe such a school exists. It wasn't easy to locate the school cause we got lost and had someone come pick us up.

Liam and I share the same hostel and we managed to make a new friend in class whose name is Chester. He's a year older than us and has been in Mystique High for about a year now.

News traveled fast and soon the news of two scholarship students arriving in the school spread across the whole campus like a wildfire. We got death stares and disgusting looks, obviously we're humans and they seem to be creatures of different species. We have werewolves, vampires, witches, sages, fairies, mermaids, and elves. So far I've only met a few of them but no werewolf.

Seems like they blend into the human world quite easily. They're always careful about who they interact with and they are far from being friendly.

Chester is a vampire who looks cold and distant to others, but is actually needy and playful. He gave us all the tea of the school and also warned us about the Alpha.

Apparently, we are in a pack territory called the Crystal Pack. It is the biggest pack in the United States and houses not only werewolves but different creatures.

The alpha who according to what I've been told hasn't found his mate yet, and is known to be a menace to those who trigger him. His name is Asher Hunter, a name that made my inside churn for some reason.

Today is the day we officially resume school as students of Mystique High and a ceremony will take place by midnight. I definitely am not looking forward to it cause the whole students will be present.

I also heard that they'll be turning to their natural appearance after the ceremony has been completed. I don't know how to feel about that.

"Are you even listening to a word i say Ryo?." Liam stared at me with a serious expression on his face.

"I'm sorry bro, I spaced out. What was that again?"

"I said we need to go to the pack house after class." I felt my heart drop.

"Wait what? Why do we need to do that? Are we in any kind of trouble?" Feeling extremely confused and scared, I paced around anxiously.

For whatever reason, I fear the werewolves the most. There's just something about them that creeps the life out of me. They aren't friendly, they're always growling and they all almost have partners.

"We need to register our information into the pack records and make a proper introduction to the alpha and the former alpha and Luna."

"What time do we have to get there?" I started to sweat profusely as I paced around.

"Now." He smirked.

"Now!?" My heartbeat skyrocketed.

"Yes now. Come on let's go and get changed. We don't want to keep the alpha waiting now do we?"

He pulled us to our hostel.

I was feeling extremely anxious and restless, I had the urge to dress to kill a little too much today. Because of my small and feminine appearance, people often mistook me for a girl or should I say for a tomboy. I also had the beauty of a girl but unfortunately girls only got attracted to me cause of my appearance. So I've never actually been in a relationship, although I'm bisexual.

I wore a white V-neck shirt with black prints and black cargo shorts, deciding to wear a plain sneakers just to go for that simple but not simple look.

I have a pretty short hair so I don't have to do much to style it. I just have to run my hand through it and I'm good, I also sprayed a little bit of cologne.

Liam was already waiting for me at the lobby so I hurried out of the hostel. I found Liam at the lobby talking to an extremely gorgeous guy who had a very manly look and stature compared to Liam and I.

Liam had a small smile on his face and blushed at whatever Mr gorgeous was saying to him. I got close to them and jumped on my best friend in a bid to scare him and before I could say jack, my back slammed hard against the wall and I fell face front on the concrete floor. Pain shot through my whole body as I rolled on my back, Liam's ear piercing screams vibrated through the lobby and in no time a huge crowd gathered around us.

I couldn't respond to anyone even though I wanted to let my best friend know I was okay, I couldn't cause my whole body was frozen. I bet I broke a few bones during the hard impact, I opened my eyes slowly but couldn't make out any faces and it felt like my whole body was on fire.

I probably looked so silly now and I couldn't blame anyone but God who made me so weak and small. He could have at least made me into a girl since that was the aim. Uh. I could hear so many voices around and even some nasty remarks and laughters.

Few minutes later I felt a really strong presence and that's when I smelt it. The most intoxicating smell I've ever smelt in my entire life, felt as though my body immediately came alive. I tried opening my eyes but I couldn't, was I already unconscious? Why now?!! I need to see who this is, he or she smelt so damn good it feels as though I'm going crazy.

His scent filled the air, intertwining with the natural aromas of the forest. His scent evoked a range of emotions and sensations I never knew existed. He smelt so manly that I could immediately tell he's a guy. I bet he looks as good as he smells hehe.  And then I lost consciousness.

As I slowly regained consciousness, the world around me began to come into focus. The sterile white walls of the hospital ward surrounded me, and the soft hum of medical equipments filled the air.

I caught the faint sound of voices, distant yet distinct. I immediately recognized Liam's voice amongst others, some hushed and concerned, others laced with calm authority and medical professionals.

I could hear the gentle reassurance of the doctor who was now talking to Liam, assuring him of my speed recovery. Deciding I've had enough of the whispering, I moved my hand and touched Liam's finger. He immediately turned to me and just then tears rolled down his cheeks, he pulled me into a tight hug and I hissed at the impact. My whole body still hurts but I couldn't blame him at all, I can see how much he loved me as his best friend of course.

"Thank goodness you're alive Ryo, I don't know what I would have done without you." His cries filled the room and I patted his back. Just then someone growled, and my attention immediately turned to the one person who caused me to be stuck here, Mr gorgeous.

"Why did you slam me into the wall like that? You could have killed me." I burst out in anger.

"It was a mistake Ryo, he thought you wanted to harm me. He was only protecting me." Liam defended him and that ticked me off.

"Since when did we answer questions for strangers Liam? And why are you defending him? Cat got his tongue? Is he mute? He almost killed me man, the least he could have done is apologize. He's doing nothing but glare at me and you're letting him? He almost sent me to Jesus man." Anger evident in my voice.

"Because he's a werewolf Ryo, and not just any werewolf, he is the beta of the pack. His name is Anthon and he is my mate."

"So what if he is the Beta of the pack? Does that excuse his behavior towards me? I ALMOST DIED LIAM! You don't seem to understand my anger here."

Feeling tears well up in my eyes, I closed it and sighed heavily, trying to calm myself down so I don't cry and further humiliate myself in front of everyone here. And that's when I smelt it again and almost immediately my eyes snapped open.
