Seven years ago...

It started seven years ago when I entered my third year of college and met the first guy who made my heart beat, Jake Ramos. We became friends because of the projects assigned to us by our school teachers. I was the first one to develop feelings for him, and I was also the first one to confess my feelings. I never expected that he also had feelings for me, so before we became official, I courted him for a year.

We reached a point where we were extremely sweet to each other, giving each other everything. I would even fetch and send him every day, so my family got to know him. He also introduced me to his family, and Jake would often invite me to their house. I would call his mother "mama Grace," and they were all so kind to me, including his cousins. Every year on Jake's birthday and our anniversary, he would give me flowers that he personally asked his cousin to make. I loved him deeply, and we even made plans to get married in 2025.

When we entered our fourth year, second semester, when we needed to do our on-the-job training, we were supposed to be together in Manila. However, his family was worried about him being far away, so I went to Manila and he stayed in Olongapo City. Though we were physically far apart, we were still happy. On our graduation day, I also met Jake's grandparents from Hawaii. We celebrated our graduation with Jake's whole family at Rico's eat-all-you-can, where all the happiness happened.

I started working as a manager at ChaTime in SM Central, but Jake couldn't decide where to find a job. So I decided to apply for him at Krispy Kreme, just across from where I worked. However, mama Grace asked him to resign because he got sick there. Mama Grace got Jake a job at the Municipality as an information assistant where he only had to share posts from the mayor and city hall. On the other hand, my sister asked me to work in Cambodia for more experience and because of the good salary. Initially, I was supposed to fly with Jake to Cambodia, but we were not allowed to fly because of questions from the Bureau of Immigration. Because of that, during that time, Jake's sister also went to Baguio to study, so he accompanied her to fix her papers. Then, the time came for me to leave alone for Cambodia because Jake couldn't come with me.

Hello fellow readers this short story will only have two chapter so please bear with me because i need to gather many informations in my surroundings so tell you stories i hear and see.

When I arrived in Cambodia, I started working, but I still talked to Jake every day. Until we reached a point where he started drinking a lot with his friends, and I began to have a feeling that he might have met someone else because I wasn't by his side for only two years that we were apart. Because of my exhaustion and stress, different thoughts came to my mind, thinking that he might have someone else on the back of his motorcycle. He rarely called me anymore, so I couldn't handle the pressure and decided to cool off for a while. But it seemed like we were really drifting apart, and he would also post ambiguous things on Facebook, so I focused on my work. When he stopped with his ambiguous posts, I chatted with him to ask if we were okay now, but it turned out we were not together anymore for him. I also didn't chase after him because I didn't want to look foolish.

After 5 months, I found out that he was courting another girl, and they only had five days together before Valentine's Day. It was so painful for me at that time because five years of being together was defeated by five months of separation, and he already had someone else. A month later, my father had a heart attack and passed away, so I went back to the Philippines. I came back thinking that someone would be there for me, at least a little, but there was none. Losing my father was the most devastating thing that happened to me, but I never once crossed his mind about how I was doing. I didn't assume that he would come back to me, I accepted that he already had someone else.

I'm tired, I want to rest, I don't want this anymore. I'm already trying to keep quiet, but his girlfriend keeps ruining my life. She started chatting with me about things like me constantly posting on Facebook that I miss my father, that Jake remembers me and misses me. She even said she wants to steal Jake from me. It got to the point where she harassed me, and I became stressed and tired. I want to rest, and it even reached the point where I had to go to the hospital because of my condition, but I want to endure it all because my younger sibling is still young, and I'm the only one taking care of them. Jake and his girlfriend broke up because of her excessive jealousy towards anyone. Since then, I have tried to be okay and help my family. I learned to love myself because of my experiences.

"Hey Jonas! What do you want to happen between us, I'm tired already, I always prioritize you but it seems like I don't matter to you," the girl pleaded.

The guy didn't even answer the girl's questions.

Back to the day they first met...

"Good day class, you have a new classmate, meet Jonas De Guzman," the teacher introduced the new student.

The teacher made Jonas sit in the vacant seat at the back. "So, where are the vacant seats? Oh, beside Shaina. You may go sit there," the teacher instructed Jonas.

After class, many students approached Jonas to introduce themselves, including Shaina who became his friend and partner in everything.

"Jonas, let's go to the church together later," Shaina invited Jonas.

"Sure, let's go together," he replied.

The two went to the church where they always went. Every Saturday, they would go there together, it became their hobby. They became closer and Jonas courted Shaina, who eventually said yes. It was a grand proposal that made everyone swoon at the sweetness of their story.

"Shaina, will you be my girlfriend?" Jonas sweetly said.

"Yes!! I will be your girlfriend!" Shaina happily replied.

Their relationship lasted for four years until they reached the right age. Their parents were supportive of their relationship, almost to the point of wanting them to get married. However, they encountered a big problem that would ruin their relationship.

In a phone message...

"Bebs, I'm on my way to your place, I have a gift for your dad since it's his birthday today," Shaina happily texted Jonas.

"Okay bebs, I'll wait for you outside our house, or I can pick you up there," Jonas replied inquisitively in the text.

"I'm already on my way, don't worry, just wait for me, hahaha. I'm excited for your dad's reaction to my gift," Shaina said.

"Okay bebs, take care on your way," Jonas added before the message ended.

When Shaina arrived outside Jonas' house, she saw Jonas waiting for her. She greeted him with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. They entered the house and were suddenly interrupted by someone shouting outside.

"Jonas, come out and face the consequences!" a woman repeatedly shouted.

Their happiness was disrupted by the commotion outside the house, so they all went out to see what was happening.

When they stepped out of the house, the woman shouted again.

"Jonas! You don't answer my calls and texts, stand up for what you did!" the woman exclaimed, surprising everyone.

Shaina couldn't think straight, she just cried and begged Jonas to tell her that it's not true.

"Jonas, it's not true, right? Please tell me it's not true, I'm begging you!" Shaina asked, tears streaming down her face.

The man didn't answer any of her questions. Shaina couldn't take it anymore, so she left while crying.

Shaina went home crying, and locked herself in her room, which worried her parents. As she cried in her room, she could hear her phone ringing and receiving numerous texts, which she ignored.

After a few days, Shaina found out that Jonas got married to the woman he impregnated. Shaina's anxiety and depression worsened, and she ended up being hospitalized, worrying Jonas.
