The Leper Queen

The Golden Cedars and the Queen

In the Kingdom of the Golden Cedars, there was a family that in the long time had not had children and this saddened, since their desire was that, in their great halls, they would be filled with laughter and waiting for a long time, nothing happened. This brought great sorrow in the royal family because it was necessary to leave an heir and that his people had some just; a concern that the Kings did not let sleep. A prosperous place with a great army, of beautiful gardens and a great forest, where spectacular creatures dwelt, but the sadness of the Queen was eminent.

One day the noble lady, the Queen, came out as usual through the beautiful forest of the cedars. When the sun's rays hit him, the meadows were painted in beautiful colors like gold, it was magical that place to walk. In the company of some of his courtesans and his five dogs who were the most playful.

When the dogs ran after rabbits or perhaps some butterflies, the women sat under a large tree where the leaves fell while they ate some fruits and appreciated the blue sky.

A little thoughtful, the beautiful queen sits alone by a stream, beginning to see the water and the running of her fish. When there, he sees the figure of a very beautiful blue fish with large eyes, to which the Queen caught her attention, because it was novel as if this beautiful fish played with her.

She walks a little around the place following the current, her companions follow her while our little friend jumps on the water; its blue color was so perfect that the Queen wanted to take it, but it jumped and splashed her with water; It was like a game that made her forget her sadness and wanted to take him to her court.

The little fish bowing, says to the noble Queen:

"Your majesty! How are you?

The Queen jumped backwards from fright, addressing her maids, looking in fright:

"Is this fish talking to me or delirium?"

"No! Susi replies and adds, "Your majesty, I hear you. "And look shyly at the fish.

Taking it in a container, the Queen looks at it carefully, but it speaks again and almost drops it.

The fish replies:

"Tell me your affliction, and perhaps I can help you.

She wonders: "How did this extraordinary creature know of my pain?", and sitting down she looks at him crying, tells him about his torment, but the fish expresses:

"When you return to the forest, you will look for a small white flower. The center of that flower has a red color that, when the sun rises, you must give it a kiss and you must drop one of your tears in it; You will ask for your wish with all your heart.

The fish asked the Queen to return it to its place, and so she did as she was told. Immediately the blue fish disappeared from his gaze. Although she stayed for a while, the royal lady withdrew, and told everything to her husband the King, who, thought for a long time about the matter.

Keep your promise, my queen.

She did as the fish told her, and went to the place with some of her maids. Certainly in that place, he found the little flower, returning to the river, to seek to speak with him blue fish, but when he returned he was not there. She asked her subjects, but no one gave her reason, but the Queen's heart was saddened and lying in her chamber she slept for a while.

Of that fish he did not know again, which was very strange. What was this feeling that overwhelmed her? I was confident that something would happen, but I didn't know exactly when.

On the day when the Queen was resting, something incredible happened: she dreamed that she had her fish in her arms, but suddenly it was not her fish, but a cute creature, she was so happy that she did not want to wake up.

Days and months passed, the Queen was pregnant. This was cause for celebration in that Kingdom.

Some time later, the Queen had in her hands a little baby; She had long hair and very large eyes, but she had a rare disease that for them was not an impediment, because they loved her and her kingdom too.

And that's how she grew up, being a beautiful young lady, but with the disease that made her wear a white veil. The halls of the palace were always adorned with white flowers; Very beautiful, fresh smells.

The princess's hair was long and white, however, this did not matter; as she was very happy and generous. She liked to sing and play the harp.

Everyone said that at night the beautiful princess was seen in the lake, surrounded by beautiful swans and when the sun rose with intensity, the beautiful flowers gave their splendor as if they formed a white carpet, of deep perfume.

"The princess belonged to a great kingdom, and one day, she will have to return," this was the warning the fish gave to the Queen, but happiness was second to none with his white princess.

The courtiers of the palace say that she is the fish, which one day the Queen took to her chambers, but no one can affirm it.

The years passed and that tender princess, becomes the fair Queen of the kingdom, but no one has seen her face, only her parents. Her hands were white as snow, and when she strolled, she left a soft scent, in the palace court, she was the sensation.

One day, when the beautiful Queen was walking along the river, a golden-finned, big-eyed fish spoke to her. She was a little stunned, and with a scream jumped up.

The fish said to him:

"Do not be afraid, my little Queen, for good I have come to look for you.

"What do you say, dear little friend?" My parents were the righteous Kings.

"I know my Queen... You are the answer to the tears of the righteous Queen, yet you do not belong here. You have a court and a Kingdom under the sea, so come because in a little seahorse you are going to ride.

The young woman asks her being a little scared:

"Will I be back?"

"My girl's decision is not mine, only you can decide what's in your heart. Now your real parents are waiting for you.

The young woman says, "But how can it be possible?"

"My Queen, this was the request of the goldfish, your real father.

She looks around and after having thought a little, asks the fish to allow her to say goodbye to her Kingdom, and that is how he tells her that she will have three days, but if she does not return she will be leper forever, since she belongs to the source of the goldfish.

The young woman runs as soon as she can through her palace, stunned, knowing that she has little time.

In the forest, there remains the most beautiful garden that could have existed in all the Kingdoms. In it, inhabit some charming birds that speak of the leper Queen. Everyone remembers her with love, as that generous and happy being.

His story is told, and spoken throughout the Kingdoms. It is told as a story in the villages that she returned to the spring where they saw her leave, with the most beautiful fish, and ever seen.

It is only known that, at sunrise, the beautiful flowers change color, that there was the beautiful leper Queen, in the beautiful forests of golden cedars.

Back up.

The Queen was not imagining; she yearned to see her parents again. She shared this with a group of creatures by the pond on a moonlit night. Her long hair reflected the white light, and her beautiful voice resonated like an echo through the golden cedar forests. Her hands were as white as snow, with small golden scales. Furthermore, her little friends knew that her gaze reflected sadness. It was then that the small seahorse spoke:

— Do not be sadder, my Queen. I will speak to the Lord of Wishes; he will help you. At that moment, they ventured into the depths of the sea, where many fish of different colors lived. Upon arrival, one of the guardian fish introduced itself:

— Why have you come, little horse?

— I request to speak with the wise one.

— What is your matter, noble one?

— I cannot tell you, only him.

— Answer! What number are you?

— I am the thousandth second millennium.

The guard looked at him suspiciously and said:

— I will announce you.

— Then, he drew his silver weapon and stirred the waters, creating thousands of bubbles that moved rapidly.

— I see, summon Crystal! Without delay, the dolphin races at great speed; a thunderous sound echoes in the sea, and the stars fall silent.

— Who has disturbed the sage? They wonder in the depths of the sea.

— It was the little seahorse named Milenio.

— He has said that my daughter, the Golden Queen, is sad. Why? One of his advisors is summoned to the scene.

— Swordfish, what is happening to my daughter?

— Lord, it must be the changes the child is undergoing. And he looks at the seahorse Milenio.

— What changes do you mean, noble? — the swordfish inquires.

— Lord, she wishes to ascend to where the humans reside. With haste, Crystal the mermaid arrives.

— Your Majesty, they have told me that my little one is sad. And she gazes at Milenio the seahorse.

— Everyone is bewildered, my Lord. — one of the guards adds.

— Neither the moon's color nor the shining of the stars brightens the heart of our little Queen. The lady shells have adorned her with the grandest and most beautiful pearls, but this does not interest her. They tell me they have seen her cry. My Lord, she wishes to see her parents.

— What are you saying? I am her father!

— And we know, great golden fish, but on nights of high waves, she looks to her mother.

— Bring the queen.

— Yes, Your Highness!

— Come, Milenio, accompany us.

On the way, amidst the waves, the mermaid Crystal scolds him.

— Do you understand the trouble you've caused us? This is a magical world unknown to humans, and the most terrible thing, young lad, is that they will degrade me... What will become of me?

Minutes later...

— My little Queen.

— Tell me, mermaid.

— Your father is summoning you. Milenio, the little one, couldn't bear to see you sad.

The Golden Queen sinks deep, in the company of the mermaid and her great friend, Milenio.

— Lord, the Queen approaches.

In the midst of the coral, the jellyfish dance to the rhythm of the water, in the songs of the whales carrying their offspring, they clear her path. In extraordinary reverence, the creatures, and schools of fish that admire her beauty.

— Father, did you summon me?

— Yes, my daughter, I've heard that there is sadness in you.

She approaches and looks at him with tenderness.

— You have everything you desire more than any of my creatures in the wide sea.

— I know, Father, your kindness and wisdom are unmatched by anyone. — she responds.

— Your friend Milenio says you're sad and that you cry. Why are you so inconsolable? Does sadness so fill your songs that even the nymphs do not come out to play in the forests?

— Father, I would like to see my people again.

Hearing his beautiful daughter's words breaks the king's heart.

— But you know you cannot live in the world of humans?

— I understand the risks, but I miss walking through the forests, playing with the creatures, with the flowers, talking to the children, and seeing my human parents' faces anew.

— My daughter, I am your father!

— I know, and I am the luckiest, but they should know that I am happy, and I wish them comfort, as they had no more children.

The king ponders. He knows the young one's heart and won't stand in her way.

— Father, please, —she bows and adds: —grant me this wish.

— Do you know the price?

— Yes, Majesty.

— You will leave the water, but your skin will be pale, covered in scales. You must hide your origin from everyone; you will have to conceal it.

— I will, Father.

— And you will not be alone, Milenio will accompany you, and the mermaid Miss.

— Lord, I will care for the Queen with my life. — Milenio responds.

— I'm sure you will.

They depart, and in the moonlight, the beautiful young woman is found at the edge of the pond; her skin completely pale and covered in golden scales.
