Orignal Vampire

The Son of a Baron

In the northern section of the Glorious Empire, spring always arrives rather late.

The wind and snow that had been raging for half a year eventually subsided against their will at the beginning of April, and the warm sunshine returned to the north, igniting the recovery of everything.

However, not everyone appears to like the intense sunshine.

As an illustration, this man recently left Grey Castle.

His eyes were entirely hidden by a leather tricorn hat with an extremely low pulled-down brim. He raised his hand to slightly lower the brim while he continued to appear to feel that the sun was too intense.

This tall, gorgeous man, who appeared to be in his late teens or early twenties, was dressed in a black shirt with red stripes, crimson cross-pattern knight boots that covered his legs, and his hair was already slightly fluffy black. In contrast to the burgundy jacket that nearly touched her knees, her ballooning trousers made her appear incredibly regal.

But he appeared to be recovering from a major illness because of how pale his face looked.

: "Master Colin!"

: "Master Colin!"

The men in Grey Castle saluted and greeted him along the way.

However, this young master Colin seemed preoccupied and just gave a cursory greeting to the servants.

After some while, he finally came to a stop in front of a modest house, as though debating whether or not to enter.

"Meow~~"

A kitten crying indignantly next to the corner appeared to be accusing the guy of obstructing his sunlight.

Colin Angelet emerged from his reverie, turned to face the cat at his feet, and let a small smile break out on the corner of his mouth.

He squatted and extended his hand to grasp the kitten in front of him.

"Meow!" The humiliated kitten tried to escape Colin's grasp by baring its teeth and claws for a while, but it was unable to do so. As a result, it grew silent and did its best to simply gaze at the foolish human in front of it with wide eyes.

The kitten appeared to be hesitating as Colin's fingers delicately massaged its tiny neck.

"Bah-" The kitty barbed its teeth at the man after spotting him slowly begin to display his razor fangs.

One cat and one person sparred for a moment before Colin burst out laughing and put the kitten back on the floor.

Saying "Meow! Meow! Meow" The kitten meowed loudly many times as if it believed it had won the battle against the foolish humans just now.

The "defeated general" was then signaled to come and serve its master right away as it deftly laid down, rolled over, and revealed its belly.

Unfortunately, the dimwitted person chose to disregard it and instead stood up and entered the hut.

When they spotted Colin, the housemaids, who were preoccupied, were a little taken aback. They abruptly put their work on hold and carefully posed the question:

Colin the Master, why are you here? Dinner will need to wait till later. We can make afternoon tea for you first if you're not hungry.

"No, I'll just go for a walk." Colin looked around the kitchen and inquired, "Today's dinner is venison?" when he noticed the reindeer with its limbs tied in the corner.

I agree, Master. Carrots, vegetable soup, bread and butter, and wine are all added to a stew of venison.

No need for wine, make a glass of deer blood for me, Colin said, rubbing his parched lips together.

"Okay." The maids nodded despite being a little taken aback.

According to their perception, only the Baron enjoys drinking deer blood, and Master Colin's taste has always been relatively mild.

Following Colin's explanation, he turned around and departed, but as he approached the door, he seemed to recall something, so he turned around and commanded:

"Add another serving of raw garlic."

I agree, Master. The maids answered right away.

I was also quietly grumbling that Master Colin's taste was getting progressively worse.

A row of candles and the flames in the fireplace lit up the dining area on the top floor of Grey Castle as night fell. Although the hall's design was fairly opulent, it nevertheless had a gritty vibe.

Above the fireplace hangs a kite shield carved with the face of a raging bear, which is surrounded by variously styled paintings and stuffed animal heads used to display the owner's prowess.

"Master, a few days ago the wine cellar bought a few barrels of white wine from Winster Manor. Would you like to test it?

The butler Eamonn stood behind Colin with his hands bound after the servants had laid the table and suggested in a low voice:

Since Winster's rainy season was brief and sunny last year, this batch of wine ought to be of high quality and pair perfectly with tonight's venison.

Eamonn was really concerned when he heard about Master Colin's strange behaviour in the kitchen today.

Aemon had little faith for the impolite Baron Angelet, but he had high hopes for Master Colin, the butler who wished to elevate the Angelet family's taste.

Master Colin unexpectedly requested that the chefs make deer blood and garlic today!

Eamonn believed he had to take action.

The Angelets must be a classy family!

"Okay." The butler's remarks touched Colin, and he nodded in accord.

After beaming broadly, Eamonn swiftly poured Colin a glass of white wine.

"Is there anything else you need?"

Colin motioned with his hand, saying, "No, you go do your work."

"OK."

Colin was the sole person still inside the deserted restaurant as the butler's footsteps vanished from outside the door.

Colin was the only person seated at the large, empty dining table because his mother had passed away many years prior, his father, Baron Angelet, was away at war, and his sister had already tied the knot.

He didn't appear to be lonely though.

Colin ate the food in front of him rapidly, drank white wine, and stared in a stupor at the remaining deer blood and garlic.

He eventually drank a glass of wine before picking up the glass of deer blood, frowning a little, and putting it to his mouth.

Colin swallowed it all in one go because there was no fishy scent as anticipated or any queasy feeling.

somewhat sweet.

Colin licked his lips in confusion as to whether he should be glad or unhappy.

"Did he actually go back in time and turn into a vampire? Colin murmured.

He then set the cup down, pulled a roll of parchment from his arms, stretched it out on the surface, and penned words that had no connection to the outside world:

Normal food is unable to elicit any taste sensations or a sense of fullness.

Drinking deer blood can boost physical energy and provide great satisfaction.

[Additional blood will be tested...]

Colin sighed and set down his pen.

He now wishes that there would be a "Beginner's Guide to Time Travel" and a "Vampire Survival Manual" that he could refer to rather than having to make assumptions and experiment on his own.

Even without these, he would still need to go back in time and become a member of this world's existing species in order to tell Colin exactly who he was, what upgrade paths he had, and even allow him to become a teacher or anything.

Unfortunately, there are no records of vampires in this alternate reality that is comparable to the Western Middle Ages.

Elves, orcs, trolls, naga, and extinct dragons coexist in this realm along with other creatures.

However, there aren't any vampires.

Colin thought he might have created the first vampire in history.

He was a little concerned about this.

Because vampires weren't real in his original world; they were just fantastical creatures.

All of their perceived strengths and faults are made up.

Additionally, the settings in many works vary slightly.

Colin must now experiment on himself in order to completely comprehend his new body and new position.

He has discovered that he actually resembles the storied vampire so far.

Bloodlust, photophobia, immortality...

Undying, indeed.

Because this morning when he just travelled through time, he discovered——

A dagger was lodged in his chest.

Assassination

Colin cautiously unbuttoned his shirt and used a candle to examine the cut on his chest in the dimly lit, deserted restaurant.

The wound is still open, and no therapy has been administered.

But there was no sign of blood leaking out.

as a result of his newfound ability to control his body's blood flow.

This may be another talent that vampires are born with.

Colin slowly moved the wound to the sides while holding both sides of it.

"Hiss—" He had to take a breath after experiencing a sharp pain.

Colin, however, was a bit content.

It at least demonstrates that his neurological system is still in good shape.

Colin felt that he was not all that different from regular folks as a result of this.

Colin could easily see his heart through the little hole created when the wound was opened up.

It has stopped jumping.

Okay, so this is a little unique compared to regular folks.

Colin felt a bit depressed.

"Why--"

Colin sighed and let go of his hands, allowing the muscles to gradually heal the wounds as a group.

There is no need for a bandage because it won't bleed anyhow.

All that remains to be seen is how long it takes to heal, if it heals at all.

To be quite honest, Colin briefly worried when he discovered the blade lodged in his chest when he woke up this morning.

He believed that since he passed away as soon as he arrived, he might be the most unsuccessful time traveller in history at the moment.

But then he realised that he was immortal.

He was pierced in the heart, but he was still alive.

Colin had no idea who stabbed him in the heart right now.

Colin was able to acquire his predecessor's memories during this time journey.

He was unable to determine the identity of the assassin from these memories.

Colin, though, already has some suggestions for luring the killer out of the shadows.

There's no rush, though.

The new body he inherited, which is thought to be a vampire, is what he is now more intrigued about.

Colin re button his shirt and then focused on the last item of food on the large table: the garlic.

It's said that garlic terrifies vampires.

Colin had no knowledge of the vampires from books and films in the previous world, and he also had no idea what settings the vampires in this world adhered to.

There is no other option besides cautious experimentation.

With the aid of a table knife, Colin delicately placed a piece of ant-sized garlic in his mouth.

"vomit!!!"

Colin simply puked on the ground.

It appears that garlic frightens vampires in this realm as well.

Colin the Master, how are you doing? When the maid manning the door heard the ruckus, she hurried inside to investigate.

"I'm good, ugh!"

I'm afraid you're sick, Master. I'll head out right away to find Pastor Miguel.

"No!" Colin almost leaped up in surprise at hearing "priest" but quickly stopped him. No need...I'm all right.

"Really? However, your face is really pale today, and you are currently even throwing up.

I said there's no need. Colin massaged his stomach, fighting the want to throw up, and scowled viciously at the woman at the door.

The maid could only conclude with "Then please take care of yourself" before hastily leaving after appearing to be terrified by Colin's severe expression.

"Huh--" Colin exhaled a sigh of relief while panting and leaned back in the chair.

Priests are asked for medical advice by vampires?

Be ill!

Colin did not have the courage to put his own life in danger for the experiment, even though the priests in this world would not always be able to suppress vampires.

least not just now.

He might test the church in this world in the future, after he is fully ready.

However, not just now.

After some time

In order to continue writing on the parchment, he picked up the quill:

I detest garlic, and eating it will make me throw up.

Colin wrote on the notepad after carefully noticing the changes in his body:

However, it is not lethal.

Colin scowled as he continued to look at the square letters on the parchment.

wrong.

Colin instantly saw that the amount of garlic he had just consumed was a very small portion as he looked at the piece in front of him.

difficulties with measurement.

It might not be dangerous to consume a tiny amount, but if you consume too much...

When Colin observed the complete head of garlic in front of him, he appeared a little green.

He was unwilling to try again.

Just forget it and avoid garlic in the future.

Colin struggled for a time before deciding to stop this risky attempt.

Colin got up and left the restaurant after rolling the paper up and placing it in his arms.

When she noticed Colin, the maid who was on duty outside the hall swiftly bowed.

Say "clean up." The maid bowed her head and avoided looking at Colin as Colin cast a quick peek at her. "Don't mention this to anyone."

"Yes, Master!" you reply.

Colin entered the dim hallway and made his way back to his room.

Colin sat at the desk as it was still early.

On the desk, "The Chronicles of the Glorious Empire" is open.

Although Colin remembered reading this novel as a child, his memory was now fuzzy.

Colin made the decision to conduct more research while travelling through time in order to have a deeper understanding of this society and discover any indications that vampires may have existed.

However, this ultimately serves no use.

The text makes absolutely no mention of vampires.

Colin fortunately gained nothing. He could examine the development of this human empire.

Garna Lorenzo, the mythical knight who served the Lord of Glory, brought about the union of the human species, founded the Glory Empire, and rose to power more than 1,500 years ago.

Garner canonised the six paladins under his command as dukes, instructed them to garrison in all directions, and regularly expanded their domains in order to fend off the outside adversaries circling the empire.

After countless years, just four of the original six Dukes are still alive.

Among the four dukes, Duke Hilde presently controls the northern frontier, where Colin is located.

The Trolls formerly ruled the North, but the Hilde family had long since drove them farther north to the Ice fields of the Sky.

The trolls are determined to retake this lush land and set out on a southern expedition nearly every year because they are unwilling to give up.

This year is no different.

Baron Angelet, Colin's father, is presently engaged in combat.

——————————

The candlestick on the desk was extinguished as the night deepened, and the bedroom was silent.

Only Colin's calm, even breathing could be heard, and a distant owl's hoot could be heard outside Grey Castle.

A mysterious dark shadow suddenly materialized at Colin's bedside as the moonlight was obscured by thick clouds.

He glanced at Colin, who was fast asleep, and a look of uncertainty crossed his face.

Because he was certain that he had stabbed Colin in the chest the previous evening.

Why did you not perish?

Black Shadow was totally perplexed.

He didn't pause, though.

Colin's chest was slowly pierced by the knife as it was silently drawn out.

He instantly recalled what someone had said to him earlier:

Some people have right-handed hearts, though most people have left-handed hearts.

The dagger in his hand was therefore silently transferred to the right this time.

"Chi!"

Colin was struck hard in the chest by the dagger.

Colin was startled out of his dream by the severe pain. His mouth was suddenly forcefully grabbed by a pair of large hands just as he was about to scream.

"Woo...Woo...Woo..."

Colin gaped in fear as he fixed his attention on the assassin in front of him.

He knew who he was!

After some time, Colin's struggle started to get easier.

However, the shadow maintained its vigilance.

He left his hand off Colin's mouth after waiting for a full ten minutes.

Then, he pulled Colin's chest-mounted blade from his body and stabbed him once more in the throat.

Now you ought to perish.

Leaving

The lord has the right to rely on his subjects for financial support, but he also has a duty to defend them from any pernicious people.

Although humans live in the most productive region of this globe, in the middle of the continent, they are also watched closely by the other alien races that live nearby.

As a result, a [Law of Lords] was established at the outset of the Glorious Empire's establishment to specify the rights and obligations of the Lords.

This rule states that titles will be taken away from nobility who lose their lands.

This law harmed Carter Knight.

They lost their family's title because trolls intruded on their land.

Carter thereupon turned into a vagabond knight.

The knight's life was exceedingly difficult without the support of his realm, and he had little money to pay for the upkeep of his armour and weapons.

Thankfully, Baron Angele housed him.

Carter pledged his allegiance to the Angelet family as well.

But it is clear that this loyalty has not been put to the test.

Because Knight Carter just used his own hands to stab Baron Angelet's son in the chest with the dagger.

It was inserted twice.

Carter felt guilty as he gazed at Colin's physique, but he quickly recovered his resolve.

Carter believed that his ambition of reviving his family was within reach as he reflected on the promise made by that man to him.

However, when Carter discreetly got out of bed and started to walk away, his feet abruptly came to an abrupt halt.

Carter abruptly turned around and only noticed a chilly glow approaching him!

"Chi!"

Carter screamed in a hushed tone after feeling a sudden, severe ache in his chest.

However, no amount of physical suffering could dim the psychological anxiety caused by Colin's unexpected resuscitation from the grave.

Is he a devil?

Carter unconsciously grabbed the dagger in his hand and ****** it forward out of rage and terror.

"ah!"

Colin laughed through clenched teeth as he heard a muffled groan from the opposite side. You fool, you just gave me two stabs! Oh no, it happened three times.

"You...you..." Carter experienced a sudden loss of all physical might, and his awareness started to become hazy.

"Say! What sent you?

Carter's body began to get limp as Colin was about to ask a question, and blood began to pour out of his lips violently.

When Colin drew nearer, all he could hear was the other person's dying voice saying, "Weird...monster."

Is that dead?

It's too sloppy!

Colin now felt remorseful since he should have avoided Carter's crucial remarks, who had entirely lost his voice.

The single hint is now once more broken.

Colin took a few breaths while he studied the bloodied corpse in front of him, but he did not become very alarmed.

First of all, he wasn't under any psychological strain because it was merely self-defense.

And secondly, this is not the first murder he has committed.

Naturally, the "him" in this sentence alludes to Colin's prior owner of the body.

Colin was a law-abiding citizen in a prior life. He hardly ever engaged in conflict, much less killed someone. The owner of this body had, however, experienced numerous violent, horrifying scenes that were a hundred times more horrific than anything he had seen before. He had been on the battlefield.

Because of this, what is happening in front of Colin can only be viewed as a short scene when the memories are fused.

Poof, the desk candle caught fire.

Colin spread the sheet once more and wrote:

Attacks on the heart and throat no longer result in death.

He continued: "I thought vampires seemed to be..."

[Only common, silver weaponry will be put to the test...]

Colin experienced some worry as he was writing this. How could he test this?

You can't use a silver sword to stab yourself, right?

What if he was actually killed by a knife?

Who in their right mind would utilise a metal like silver to build weapons, Colin soon realised.

Therefore, unless he reveals his frailty on purpose, no one will create silver weapons specifically for him.

He consequently gave up worrying about it.

Colin returned back to the body of Knight Carter after setting down his quill and picking up the wine glass from the table.

"puff!"

Blood spurted out when the dagger on the corpse's chest was pulled out.

Colin put the wine glass under the wound while maintaining his composure.

The air was thick with the stench of blood, and the flickering lighting mirrored Colin's pallid face, making it appear particularly weird and horrifying in the pitch-black night.

"Golu, Golu,"

Take a small taste.

Sweetly said.

Feeling a touch incomplete, Colin smacked his lips together.

He then attentively felt the changes in his body when he closed his eyes; they appeared to be similar to the effects of drinking deer blood.

In addition to the body's sporadic feverish symptoms.

Colin didn't pay much attention to it because he assumed it was the result of the recent violent altercation.

Let's start drinking blood now.

Drinking human blood still presents some psychological challenges for Colin. There are no further advantages, thus there is no need for him to inconvenience himself.

Colin put down the wine glass covered in blood and worriedly turned to face the dead in front of him.

Although he has identified the assassin who attempted to kill him, Colin also knows that Knight Carter is alive and there must be another somebody out there who truly wants to end his life.

The explanation is straightforward: if Carter murders him, he will receive nothing other than the Angelet family's ferocious hunt.

Furthermore, he and Carter don't have a personal grudge towards one another.

As a result, someone must have spent a lot of money to bribe Carter to kill him.

So who might this somebody be?

Colin looked through his memory but couldn't find any untrustworthy people.

No way; there are not enough hints.

Colin feels particularly uneasy about this sense that the adversary is in the dark while we are in the light.

Additionally, if this individual can bribe Carter, it's possible that he can corrupt others as well.

What role does Eamonn the Steward play in this?

Who else, then?

Colin thought about this and felt all of a sudden that Grey Castle was quite hazardous right now.

Particularly if Baron Angele is gone at war.

He didn't want to handle the murders one after the other. He couldn't be certain if he was actually unavailable.

Even while his current body doesn't appear to have any fatal wounds, he's not sure if he'll be able to grow a new head if someone takes off his head.

Furthermore, even if he is truly eternal, his status will presumably be quite uncomfortable if this is revealed.

So Colin eventually decided after taking a look at the row of flickering candles on the desk.

——————————

People sleep most soundly in the two to three hours before morning.

Even the on-duty guards started nodding asleep uncontrollably.

However, a shout of "Fire! Fire!" abruptly roused them.

Despite the darkness, Gray castle quickly came to life. Staff members and security personnel hurried to Colin's bedroom with buckets of water in an effort to put out the blazing fire.

In the meantime, Colin silently leaped from the window on the opposite side, rolled to the ground, and fled under cover of darkness.

Colin abruptly came to a stop, his right hand resting on the sword's hilt at his waist.

A kitten came out of the bushes in front of Colin amid a rustling sound.

"Meow——" The kitten suddenly turned haughty as it appeared to recognise the foolish human it had just thrashed earlier in the day.

Colin exhaled a sigh of relief, grabbed the kitten by the back of its neck, lifted it in front of him, and grinned, saying, "Ha, since you have discovered it, then you can follow me."

"Meow--"

You can be employed as a moving blood bag, then, exactly right."

"Meow?"
