*A new day in a new high school*

I thought as I was about to stand up from my bed. I hated going to school, school is boring, and I am going to be surrounded by new people.

Ugh...

I went to the bathroom to take a warm bath before I went to some new high school that my parents signed me up for. To be honest, I liked my old school, I miss the people there. Even though the environment was as nice as the new one.

7 pm

"Brianna!! We have to go, you're going to be late "

"I am coming Mom ", I replied as I was wearing a baggy shirt with cargo pants and my favorite sneakers.

I ran downstairs and carried my breakfast that was left on the table *What a way to start my day*

I soon came out of the house and entered the car.

On the way, my mother was giving me teenage lectures, again!!

"Brianna, you need to behave well at school. You know we had to move you to this school because we just recently moved here sweetie. "

"I didn't want to move mom, I don't like new places " I replied in a serious tone

" Look darling, you have to be strong. Going to a new school is not the end of the world. You know what, if you behave well throughout this first year I will get you a new phone. How about that? "

Wow, that was kind of tempting.

"Fine" I snorted

We finally arrived at the school

Brookside Academy. The school doesn't look that bad, but it sure is crowded around here.

We came down from the car and entered the huge building. My mom escorted me to the principal's office and from there I was sent to my classroom. As I entered the classroom, the room was filled with silence. I felt very nervous and decided to grab a seat at the back of the class, close to the window of course.

I noticed the classroom was divided into different groups.

One of the groups was gossiping and staring at me, but I didn't care. All I wanted was some food.

The teacher walked in with his multiple textbooks, which were mathematics textbooks. * Could this day get any worse *

"Hello students, as you all are aware, a talent show is coming up ,it will be announced and I hope all of you will be able to participate. This won't be announced until further notice. "

The class applauds in excitement.

"And I would also like to recognize the new transfer student. Please can you stand up and tell us your name"

He looked at me with a cheerful smile, I stood up and took a deep breath

" My name is Brianna Taylor, I am 16 years old and would love to study with every one of you. I hope we can be good friends and classmates "

" That is a beautiful name. It's nice to meet you, Brianna. You can call me Mr. Smith." He said as he dropped his books on his desk.

" Please you may sit Brianna"

I nodded and decided to sit down.

2 hours passed and it was finally over. I thought I wouldn't survive another minute.

As soon as Mr. Smith left the class, the guy sitting next to me came and stood in front of me. I looked at him and he was kind of handsome.

"Hey, I am Walter... Walter Peterson... It's nice to meet you Brianna" His voice sounded so sweet to my ear that I was in a daze. I didn't know what to say, I just stared at him for a while until I decided to respond.

" It's nice to meet you, Walter," I said with a warm smile, and he smiled back. I felt my heart beating in excitement, he wasn't only kind but handsome at the same time.

After the five crappy hours of my life, I was on my way home when suddenly I was pushed down to the ground by an unknown force. Before I could stand up a voice came from behind me

"Don't you ever smile at my boyfriend again "

I didn't know what she was talking about until it finally hit me. Walter must be her boyfriend...

*Well I can't deny that I admired him but come on... It's not my fault he came to welcome me*

I stood up and wiped myself up and went back home.

As I entered the house I rushed straight upstairs into my room. I didn't feel like talking to anybody or even eating, so I decided to rest for the next day.

In my room all alone in the dark, I have to admit its kind of nice being alone, but it's too lonely.

*Flashback*

"Brianna! , Bridgette! .... We need to go"

" Ok mom" we said in sync

We were on our way to the amusement Park. I really loved the amusement Park especially the water slide. Me and my twin sister. Where going to the amusement park with our parents.

Once we arrived, there was a big Ferris wheel that caught my interest

"Mom, Dad I want to go on the Ferris wheel"

"Ok sweetheart but be careful" my dad said with a warm smile.

I grabbed my sisters hand, and we ran towards the Ferris wheel. We had so much fun that we lost track of time.

After playing on the Ferris wheel for about an hour, We saw our parents arguing in the distance.

" Why can't you be a responsible woman, instead you are cheating on me with another man" my dad said in rage

" So what now, you never gave me attention and now this. I can't take it anymore, I want a divorce. And we will take one child each to be fair." my mother said as her eyes were filled with tears.

When I heard this I was shocked, before I realized it my mother dragged me.

"Mom, don't do this " I said looking back at my father and my twin sister.

My dad also took Bridgette and walked away. From that day we were separated, and I never got to see my sister again.

*end of flashback *

*I need to rest for tomorrow, thinking about it won't solve anything * I said to myself as I began to cry in pain. I then forced myself to sleep for the next day.

The next day,

Going to school, as a 10th grader wasn't a joke. I really hate school as usual.

I took a shower, dressed up in a short pink dress and rushed downstairs for some food.

"Good morning mom", said as I sat down to eat my breakfast.

" I hope u slept well Brianna, now hurry up... You're already running late for school"

My mom said as she packed my lunch box. After I was done with my delicious meal, I decided to walk to school because I really needed some exercise.

30 minutes later

As I approached the school building, I could sense someone staring at me, but I didn't know who. I turned around to find no one looking at me. I continued walking until I reached my class. Upon entering my class, I bumped into something—or rather, someone. Furthermore, I fell down on the floor, and just before I could stand up, someone stretched out his hand to help me up. It was a guy; he was tall and had a good physique. I took his hand, and he lifted me up.

"You should be careful, you might bruise your beautiful face.. I am Lucas by the way. And I guess you are Brianna" he said with a warm smile

"Yes, it's nice to meet you Lucas and thank you"

"Anytime, beautiful"

He was nice, but I think he is a flirt.

After the whole drama, I went back to my seat and saw Walter staring at me.

He came closer to me and just kept staring.

"Why are you staring at me? " I asked in confusion

" Aren't I allowed to stare at a pretty girl like you" he said with a smirk.

I blushed so hard my face was as red as a tomato.

" So Brianna, don't you have any siblings? "

" Well I did, until my parents got a divorce. I had a twin sister, but my father took her with him" I said with my face down.

"I am so sorry to hear that" he said as he held my hand. I felt goosebumps all over my body, I couldn't even breathe properly.

Before I could say a word, someone came from behind and moved his hand away from mine. It was the same girl who pushed me yesterday.

"And what you think your doing Alexis? " Walter said with a glare

" Oh baby. You're my boyfriend you know that, besides how could u do that with a low life like her" Alexis said with a scuff

"I am not your boyfriend, I never asked you to be my girlfriend, so I have nothing to do with u Alexis and Brianna is not a low life".

The class was silent as they watched the drama that was happening, they were definitely going to be some gossips about this.

Before anything else could happen, another teacher walked in

"That's enough, please everyone should be seated" the teacher said in a calm tone.

He looked like a biology teacher, I think my guess is right because of his round glasses.

I unintentionally dropped my pen on the floor as he was lecturing. I extended my hand to grab my pen, but Walter had already carried it for me before I could. He handed me my pen after our eyes briefly connected and we both continued to stare at each other.

I felt butterflies in my stomach after what happened, I couldn't concentrate in class anymore because Walter was sitting next to me and staring at me throughout.

After the class, I didn't have any other class today so I wanted to go to library. All of a sudden Walter took my hand and he walked me out of the class.

" Walter, where are we going to? " I said curiously

" You will see " his tone was soft and warm.

After a few minutes we were near a fountain, the fountain was large and beautiful in its own way.

" This is beautiful" I said with glitter in my eyes

" This is were I come to think and have some quiet time. But this time, I want you here with me".

I looked at him with a smile and he smiled back. We spent the rest of the day talking and talking . We had a lot in common and I started to like him. He was a great guy and he was so handsome, I could admire him all day.

It was time to go home.. And as usual, I am going home alone. I was about to leave when suddenly someone called me from behind.

"Brianna! "

It was Walter, he ran towards me and gave me a hug. I was surprised why he would hit me but I hugged him back anyway.

"Are you going to be free on Saturday? " he asked with a warm smile.

" Yes of course "

" Well, can we hang out a little bit on Saturday? "

" Is that a date? "

" Yes it is my lady "

"Ok then, let's meet at the cafe by 10am" I said as I walked away.

The next day, I entered the classroom with a big smile because I am going on a date with Walter. I felt so happy that everyone liked the new vibe I was giving and decided to talk to me one on one.

" Hey , you look prettier when you smile. You should keep smiling" a girl said looking at me with a cute smile on her face

"Nice to meet you, my name is Diana" she said as she stretched her hand out to shake me

"It's nice to meet you Diana, I hope we can be friends . And thank you for the compliment" I said as I took her hand.

"I would love to be friends with you, I think your really cool"

" wow really, I thought I was a nerd or something "

" No Brianna, you just feel different from others "

I looked at her and gave her a warm smile.

To that day one we became friends, we sat together we talked about many things especially about boys.

"So Brianna, are you and Walter a thing? "

She said in a serious tone.

"No, why did u ask? "

"Because there's a rumour about Walter and Alexis "

I looked at her, I felt kind of jealous

" Tell me " I said

" Well, Alexis and Walter are going on a date this weekend "

When she told me, I froze. So he was going out with another girl, I couldn't believe it.

After that conversation, I went to my seat and sat down.

"Hey beautiful, how are you" Walter said as he sat down close to me.

I ignored him and decide to read a comic I recently bought. He stared at me, confused he grabbed my hand

"Bri, why aren't you answering me "

I pulled my hand away from his grip and stood up to leave. Just before I could leave, he grabbed me by the waist and placed my back against the wall.

" What do you think you're doing, let go of me " I said trying to loosen his grip on me.

"Brianna, what's wrong? "

"Don't you have someone else to disturb" I said as I pushed him away and walked towards Diana.

For the rest of the day, I didn't talk to to him, I ignored him all day.

Finally another day of school was over, I was on my way home with Diana. We met Alexis on the way and she started preaching to us.

"Hey Brianna, I hope you have heard about me and Walter's little date this weekend. He doesn't like you, he likes me. So if I were you, I would stay away from him" , she said as she walked away with her minions behind her.

That's what I was going to do, I want going to talk to him ever again. Because he tricked me into believing that he liked me. Meanwhile he likes Alexis, I should have known better than to like someone in just two days.

"Don't take her words to heart Bri, you will find someone better " Dianna said as she held my hand.

I was silent throughout our walk before we parted ways

"Bye Brianna" , Diana said as she crossed the road.

I waved at her and I walked home alone.

When I reached home, I carried some snacks from the fridge and locked myself up in my room.

I opened my phone and saw seventeen missed calls from Walter, I wasn't in the mood to talk to him so I ignored and decide to watch a movie on my laptop to reduce the pain I felt in my heart.
