Past 1.
This story took place during the period, when mythical creatures, monsters, power crystal, magician were a thing.
But due to the shortage of power crystals, monsters have grown invasive. Humans have to fight against them to control their population and to protect them selves.
This kingdom that I live in is controlled by the Royal family of [Arnold].
The three ⚜ represent the three Dukedom of this kingdom.
The kingdom has three major Dukedom [ Rosedale Dukedom, Ericsson Dukedom and Throne Dukedom ]
It is important for these three Dukedom to support the Royal family so that they can control the kingdom.
I am Jeanette, I was originally an illegitimate child of the Rosedale Duke after he had an affair with his maid.
I was born out of wedlock and my birth mother died giving birth to me. The Duke Rosedale was generous enough to not kill me right after my birth, or so I thought...
My life was a living hell, I was treated like an animal in Rosedale. I used to do heavy work and only got to eat ones a day.
Even though I was his child, he treated me like a maid and didn't care for me, my other half siblings were treated with care and I wasn't.
But I still tried to remain strong, and used to tell my self that my good days will also come, and it did!
One month before my 19th birthday, people around me suddenly started to treat me well. I was given 3 hot meals a day and my work load was also decreased.
I thought that God has finally listened to my prayer because it was to good to be true.
But it all came down hills when I turned 19. Because the Duke suddenly called for me and told me that, he had arranged my marriage with the Duke of Throne.
I was devastated, knowing that I have to marry someone against my will and on top of that it the Duke of Throne Dukedom.
He was known to be a tyrant, rumours has it that he was ruthless, brutal, and heartless. He was a warlord as he can easily kill an army alone.
And above all he has a curse upon him self which gave him enormous powers and the result of this powers can be easily seen in wars.
He is thirsty for blood and kill. But with powers their is also a down point of this, as they die young.
Most descendent of Throne can't live past 30. That's why they need to produce an heir immediately after they turn adult.
The young women's don't want to get married to the Duke Throne due to the rumours as they fear for their life's.
That is why the Royal family ordered the Duke of Rosedale to marry his daughter to the Duke of Throne.
But instead of giving his legitimate daughters he decided to give me, and the Royal family agreed to it.
I had no say in this matter and after I turned 19 they deported me to the Throne Dukedom.
On my way I was constantly being monitored by guards so I don't kill myself.
And when I reached there I was immediately married to him the next day and the day after that my so called 'husband' left for war...
In those three days I was in constant fear and was trembling the whole time. But my days of fear were over.
As he didn't came back for the next three years and my new found life was really better than my old one.
Past 2.
My life here is Throne Dukedom was way better than in Rosedale Dukedom.
The maids here don't pick on me and people here treats me with kindness. I get 3 hot meals a day and get to wear better clothes.
But still, now that I am a Duchess and the Duke was gone it was my responsibility to take care of the Dukedom.
Because I didn't had a proper education I don't know anything and had to relay on Mr. Kenneth the person in charge for the Duke's absence.
It was a long way but I still was able to learn the basics.
After my peaceful 3 years had passed and when the Duke finally arrived back, he demanded for an heir.
Thinking it was the main reason for me to marry him, I soon got pregnant and gave birth to a son at 22.
After my son was born, The duke's curse took in and he went into a coma.
As the duke was in coma and my son was really young, I now had to take responsibility for the whole Dukedom.
The Royal family stopped sending money to us, as mostly money for Thorne Dukedom came from war and the Dukedom fell in great depression.
The Throne Dukedom was situated in North where there was heavy snow and crops couldn't grow. It also had many dark forests where the most monsters resides.
as time went on everything started falling down, people were dying without food and water, the cold and frequent monster invasion was also a great problem.
And on top of that, I became desperate... I couldn't bare people dying and blamed everything on my self.
I became depressed and neglected my own son, I couldn't become a good duchess and a good mother...
The Duke also silently passed away in his coma and died.
Soon after, my son's curse effect also started to show and he wasn't able to control it and accidentally killed Mr. Kenneth.
Now, with even the adviser gone I couldn't control anything and took a lot of debt to keep the people of the Dukedom alive, but nothing worked.
And with that I also had to pay off my debt, so I worked really hard and tried everything.
In between that the Royal family saw their chance and took my son away from me and they kept sending him to various wars even though he was only 14 at that time.
Not long after that I received a letter informing me about my son's death and that he died by suicide.
The last string of fate in me then broke... I couldn't believe it and everything around me, I lost it.
Present.
I thought that was my end.
The next day I woke up and found myself inside my 26 year old body.
I couldn't believe it as I have clearly remembered killing myself and I had all the memories of my past life.
It took me a while to grasp everything happening to me.. and I thought to myself that maybe god has given me another chance to change everything.
And this time I will be sure to live my life without any regret and change the lives of people around me.
It has been 4 days since I came back and this is the reality!
I'm currently sitting in my balcony and decided to revise my past memories and write it in a diary so I won't forget any major events and will be able to avoid any obstacles.
