ELISE POV

Today I turned 16, just like any other mermaid in Severnia,16th birthday was a very happy occasion for us, because it the day we turned into a complete mermaid, but why is my suppose to be happy day like this, unlike all other little mermaid, am always alone, No mother, no father, it was said that a came out of no where, I was found in the ocean by Grandma Cruz, who dead when am just 6, after her death everyone avoid me, as big as Severnia is, am always lonely, I don't mind it though because am still happy with my fish friends.

I was sitting alone humming my birthday day song when a guards from the palace suddenly and grabbed me in both hands. I was in awe looking confused,I wasn't even allow to asked questions, all I know is I was in the palace, in the presence of a lot of mermaid and merman that I've never seen in my life,

"You are Elise", said the man who sit on the throne, definitely the king of Severnia whom am seeing for the first time. "Yes your majesty",I said holding my heads down, am scared and confused, because I was never allowed to enter the palace before, "do you know why you've been summoned to the palace today Elise?" The king asked, 'i don't think am summoned, I was dragged here your majesty', not dare say it out I replied " I don't know your majesty ", he look at me with a eyes that I don't understand, the last time I was that look is on grandma when she look at me with full of warmth, it impossible for the king to look at me like that I must be mistaken "you turned 16 today, and there is something you should know, you are not going to live more than 18," the king said, I look up and meet his eyes, thinking I misheard him " I don't understand your majesty, may I know my offence that makes me to deserve to die at 18 my lord", I said with tears that already filled my eyes, I know everyone in Severnia hate me, they show it, and I feel it, that's why I always try not to offend anyone, but why?

The tears in my eyes is now dropping and tuning to pearls, the king was still staring at me with this same look I don't understand, "u did nothing wrong, or should I said it was your existence that is wrong itself, I have nothing to tell u, I just want you to go to the shore and found your mother, he said, leaving me confused again, " mother, I never remember having one your majesty," I said " no one can come to this world without parents, you have a mother and she's also a mermaid, she's also the only one who can lift your curse, the curse of u not having love and die at 18," he said looking at me with pity, for the first time I see pity in someone's eyes for me, " I really don't understand, and I also don't know how to found her", I said, how will I look for a woman that I've never seen before, "I have something that will make you recognise her the moment u set your eyes on her," he said bring out a crystal bracelet, "this will also help you to get a human leg, but remember my child, you only have 3 months and 7 days from now to found your mother, or else your leg will turn back to tail and you will never have a human leg again," he said, I stared at him, did he just call me 'my child?', forget that I need to take care of the problem in hand right now, I collected the bracelet, not wanting to ask more questions, because I know I won't any ans from him, I thank him and bid him farewell before leaving the palace.

Am confused, I know no one will help me here, now the mission is to look for the woman who can lift my curse, I don't want to acknowledge her as my mother,bcus I don't think she deserve it.

I decided not to wait time anymore, no one is going to miss me anyway, no one to say bye to,

I leave Severnia the very day, the day of my coming age turn to an adventure day for me.

I keep on swimming to the shore, not looking back, I also don't want to look back, I'm just embracing this new life I found myself.

But what is awaiting me here...

Reaching the shore, I see the human for the first time, it dark everywhere, I swam to edge drag my tail out of the ocean,then I put on the bracelet, I was surrounded it a very bright red light,and then my tail turn into two set of some that look like a frog leg, but am sure this is a human leg,and it beautiful, I try to stand but end up falling down, not know how to move from where I am, which I know I need to leave, still try to stand but keep falling, " the two things is very useless", I said with anger, I sit not doing anything again because am frustrated, "hey why are u sitting here alone *****"?, A woman who is standing next to me without me knowing when she get here shouted and cover me with something I don't know, "*****?" I ask "yes *****, where is your clothes, you can't let anyone see u *****," she said "I don't have cloth", I said even when I don't know what it's mean, "where are u from,"? She ask "from the sea", I replied and she look puzzled definitely not understand what I mean, "u seems lost, do u have anywhere to go,?" She ask, the I look my surroundings, I really have no where to go, then I shake my head no, she look at me with pity, "can you stand, something seems to be wrong with your leg, tell me your name," she said while helping me stand, "Elise," I said leaning on her, "am Jane, and I live here with my daughter, u can come with me if u have nowhere to instead of u sitting here alone *****," Jane said while helping me walk and we head to her home, 'human seems to be kind', I said in my mind.

We got to her home,meet a little girl who seems to be 16 too, she was standing beside something that look like flower, putting something on it, "what took u so long mom, I can't start cooking with the fish u know," she said to Jane, "here I am, cook it quick, am sure Elise is hungry too," Jane said and direct to to sit, "seems like u bring someone home again, hope she's not a thief too," Jane daughter said, while staring at me. 'am not thief ' I said in my mind...

"you always bring people home",Mia said and look at Elise for the first time, she was captivated by her look she's so beautiful, round face, especially her very long hair, how can a homeless girl look this. 'maybe she's not a bad person ', Mia thought, after cooking, dinner was served Elise refuse to eat fish, but eat some rice, after dinner she was to spend room with Mia, Mia give her some of her clothes to wear before going to bed.

Waking up the next day, my face was kiss by the morning sun, and I like the feeling, I get up to meet Jane and Mia at where they are cooking like yesterday again, after breakfast,"Jane I need to leave now, thanks for taking me in yesterday," I said with gratitude, but Jane look surprised, "but why and where are u going?"she ask,"was it because of what I said yesterday?"Mia ask looking sorry,"No, but I really need to leave,"I said, "it ok, but always remember that my door is always open for u anytime Elise,"Jane said and hug me..

Somewhere in another big city. A man was sitting alone in his sitting room in a very big mansion, he sit on his sofa drinking his wine , and suddenly he blue eyes turn red, he seems to sniffed something, a very sweet smell that he has never sniffed before, it's smell like a rose garden and heaven, no, it a smell of his mate,"MATE", he said looking suprise and dash out of the house, reaching out he found his beta who is sitting with a beautiful blonde woman on his legs, "get the car Ray", he said, " I don't remember u having any appointments today Eric, stop disturbing me," Ray said continue playing with his woman hair, "GET THE CAR", Eric said using his Alpha voice, that woman sitting on Ray leg quickly run away, that when Ray noticed his eyes, he run towards the car and start it. Even though he was Eric best friend, he knows not to mess up with him when he was in rage, but what cause the rage, and who are they going to kill, he started the car while Eric was already sitting at the back, and drive out of the building. 'There will be blood tonight ' Ray thought.

"what happen to u, what wrong Eric?" Ray said while driving out of the building, he turn to the direction Eric told him, "I smell my mate, now stop asking and speed," Eric said and cover is eyes that refuse to turn back blue, Ray was left in shock, what? Eric has a mate? Was that even possible? "But the prophesy said u will never have a mate, u are an alpha who who is meant to be alone forever," Ray said "maybe the moon Goddess took pity of me, I've live for alone the past century, the pack need a Luna, and she's here, stop the car," Eric said, the car stop and step out of car, he walk toward a girl is walking to where she don't even know,

I left Jane house, and took a moving thing that Jane call bus, that can take me to another town, I don't know why but I know what am looking for is somewhere here, the moment I dropped out from the bus, another moving thing that look smaller and beautiful than the bus I took stop in front of me, and a human man came out of the car, his eye were red and he look very handsome, walking toward me and stop in front of me, I wondering if he knows me, but he suddenly pull me into his arms, and hug me tight, I feel an electric all over my body, I want to pull away but I heard his voice that seal me still, "MINE" he said a single word that makes me want to hold him too, which I did, After what took a some minutes, he let go of me, and look into my eyes, now his eyes is blue, which makes me blink wondering if am wrong about his eyes before, "are u hurt anywhere", he ask and I shake my head no, still not know who he is, but I feel safe with him, "who are u, did u know me,?" I curiously ask, "am your man, and am knowing u now," he said with a smirk, I was confused, "my man?" I ask, " let leave here first, I'll tell u everything on our way home," he said and pull me into his little moving things, we both sit at the back and there's another person at the front, then the thing move."I'm Eric, a lycan and u are my mate"he said

A Lycan? Of course I know what is it, a creature like a wolf but more powerful and stronger than just a werewolf, so am really right about his eyes it really turn red and back to blue, but why am I a Lycan mate, mermaid know about mate too, because with a mate bond can super creature be together,and mermaid have it too, but can a mermaid mate with a lycan? A creature of the sea, and a wild creature of the jungle, "I don't think u are right, it not possible," I said even though I know his right because I can feel the bond between us, "u are not surprised or confused, which mean u know what I mean, but u should always know, a mate bond can never be a lie," Eric said touching my hair and kiss it, " u have a beautiful hair, and it smells like the sea," he said, "that because am a mermaid", I said and he look surprised, "a mermaid, now it interesting, I was given a mermaid mate, what your name?" He ask and I turn to look at him and stared into his eyes I shouldn't have do that, because his eyes was so beautiful and captivating, "Elise", I found myself whisper my name, " Elise", he whispered my name back and I never knew my name can be call so beautifully, I love the way he call it, now I know am in trouble and bond with him, he stop staring at me and look down to my neck, he swallowed and look away, he pull me closer to him and I put my head on his shoulder, enjoying the feeling that I don't understand, "why are on u on dry land, mermaid live in the sea," he ask, "am here to look for my mother" I blunt out even without me knowing, that's the bond again, mate can't lie for each other, "why?" He ask "to lift my curse, if I was unable to found her before I turned 18, I will die," i said, and he look at me definitely shock I know, but he said nothing, he rub my hair and the whisper "not even a death and dare come near u,"he said.

Eric was shocked by what Elise told him,but he knew it was the moon Goddess playing with him again,

He smirked 'u are wrong this time'
