Jamie's alarm goes off as he slowly opens his eye staring blankly at the light blue bunny plushie sitting about half-arm length away from where he was sleeping. Even though he was in his big space, Jamie couldn't help picking up the plushie up hugging it to himself while he listened to his phone alarm goes off.
Jamie wasn't in rush to turn off the alarm since the song he set with the alarm was one of his favorite song-teenage dream by Katy Perry.
Jamie sat up when his alarm goes off for the second time. He knew he had to stand up if he doesn't want to be late for work. Sitting up looking at his environ-he had slept off when he was in his little space in the makeshift fort made up of sheets he had made for himself at a corner in his bedroom.
Jamie stared at the bunny plushie in his hand, it was a gift from his second brother on his tenth birthday, even though it's old and losing its color-almost white now rather than it's light blue color, it's still Jamie's favorite out of all his plushies.
With a sigh, Jamie puts the plushie down. He stood up wanting to get ready for the day, it's better he does that than just sit down and brood on something that had happened a long while ago.
Jamie had know he was different since he was young, he didn't make much meaning to it until he was thirteen, when he met an online friend who gave him an insight on who he was.
He was a little and can't do anything about it. Being the last child with three older brothers, and the third born before him having a five years age gap had made things a bit tad difficult for him.
Even though they always adored him and cared for him as their precious little brother, even after they had lost their parents in a plane accident when he was just eight years, that didn't change their love for him, he was the apple of their eyes, they were always so protective of him. This maked it even more difficult for him to tell them who he was in the fear of them hating him and that clearly didn't take long before it unfolds.
His second and third brother had found him one day in his little space, he was in a babypink onesies with a pacifier in his mouth hugging his dolphin plushie to himself while he colored in one of the drawing book he had gotten for himself few days before. And his brothers had came home to find him in that moment.
He didn't mean to let that happen, he thought his brothers had gone to school or their place of work and had decided to skip school and just stay in his little space for as long as he wanted, but he had thought wrong.
The silence treatment his brothers had given him afterwards had really torn him apart, they never yelled at him nor did they make him feel like what he did was wrong when they had found him in his-strange mood-they had just decided to ignore it, deciding not to mention it at all and pretended it never happened, like they never saw anything.
That doesn't sit well with Jamie. He felt ashamed of himself thinking he had disappointed the only people in the world who truly cared about him and the next thing he did was ran away from home, traveling to another city to stay with a friend he had met online who happens to also be a caregiver.
He was nineteen when he ran away from home. Three years of him being away from his brothers, his family.
Liam, his close friend, that he had travelled hundreds of miles to meet had helped him settled down, gave him his old apartment to stay and even got him a job as a children teacher in his school. Jamie couldn't be more grateful for that.
Even though he missed his brothers so much, he knew he can't do anything to help the situation, he can't pretend his brother never finds out about his little secret and he really doesn't want to keep living with them pretending none of that ever happened.
The deed happened already, he no longer cried over the spilled milk. He had stopped doing that for about a year now and had started to accept the situation as it was and got himself used to living all alone.
No brothers-caregiver-or daddy at that. He rather stayed alone than feel rejected again.

Dressed in just a plain striped t-shirt and faded jean, Jamie locked the door to his mini studio apartment, putting the key into his cross bag. He made his journey towards his place of work.
Checking the time on his rose gold colored iPhone7, 7:37AM. The school opens at 9AM. Jamie is used to leaving his house very early, the school is not really far from his house, a bit far but not tgat far and Jamie loves walking there every morning. It gives him more time to be by himself and think.
It's not like he had much to think about but still, he had come to love the feeling of just walking by himself, getting to take a glance at his surroundings and see the environment from his own perspective.
Maybe from the old granny feeding the stray cats that had make it a regularity to come to her house for food to the mother who kissed her daughter goodbye every morning when she was about entering her school bus to the mini shops opening down the street or to the street vendor pushing his food down the street in a cart, maybe they did gives him the solace that he is not alone. But he really didn't know, he just knew he like how he felt after seeing all this.
With the school coming into view, Jamie branched the tea shop closeby to the school as he made to get himself his regular.
"Hi" Jamie said softly to the guy at the counter whom he had gotten acquainted with.
"The usual?" The boy whose name Jamie didn't bother knowing asked as he nod. "Yes"
"Coming right up." The guy who seems to be probably in his late twenties said as Jamie gave another short nods shifting his weight from one leg to another patiently waiting for his order.
"Here goes your regular milk tea and pink bubble tea" The guy comes back less than two minutes later with the two orders in different package bag.
Jamie could noticed the way some of the customers are looking at him for ordering a pink tea. They just don't see it as a normal thing for a guy in his twenties ordering a pink tea.
"I hope the lovely girl likes her pink tea, I added some extra boba's for her" The guy said coming to Jamie aids which the customer seems to believe as one could noticed the look of relief on their faces making Jamie wondered if it's really that weird he was ordering a pink tea.
Jamie really likes the tea, the color was just the tip of the iceberg, the taste and flavor that accustomed the tea almost gives him this unexplained feeling and no the tea boy didn't make up the story of him getting the tea for a supposed girl, Jamie had made that up himself to make himself less embarrassing when ordering it. He had told the guy the first time he ordered it that he was buying it for a girl at his place of work.
"T-thanks" Jamie collected the tea after paying for it walking out of the tea shop hurriedly. He couldn't bare to stay an extra seconds in there any longer.
☘
"Morning" Jamie placed the regular milk tea in front of Liam-the supposed girl he was buying the drink for before he made to walk towards his class.
Liam look up from his phone staring from the milk tea to Jamie. "The same regular? Atleast get me other things or the same pink as yours if you really want to get me a tea, I am starting to get fed up of the regular" Liam whines.
"Nah, that will make things weird if I ordered two pink tea"
"Ugh, you are no fun. No one will bite you for buying pink tea for yourself Jamie." Liam said before picking up the tea to feast on it.
Jamie just shrugs as he also pop open his tea drinking it before the parents will starts arriving with their kids.
"So how are you?" Liam said "how was your night?" he added.
"The same everyday" Jamie replied nonchalantly not looking up from his drink.
Liam had made it his everyday routine to ask Jamie how he was doing and the other also replying him with the same answer every single time. It's not like he was lying. He had no special thing to talk about, it's just him going back home, finding something to eat and then him being in his little space for as long as he remember. Sleep off and wake up the next morning for the routine to be repeated again.
Liam nods. He placed down his tea before giving Jamie a full focus, "So what about what I discussed with you yesterday? About the caregiver."
" The guy is really interested in you, I showed him your picture and he likes you and you really have nothing to worry about. He is a close friend of mine and had being into this for as long as I could remember"
Liam had talked to Jamie the previous day about him getting a caregiver to spice up his daily routine a bit, but Jamie just don't think he was ready for that. He doesn't want to be paired up with someone he doesn't know too well.
Liam being a caregiver himself, Jamie would had loved if Liam had became his caregiver instead but Liam had his little girl already. His girlfriend.
Jamie didn't want to be paired up with just some random stranger he got introduced to, It doesn't matters to him if he had been a caregiver for a long time. He just doesn't think he want that.
What if he was aggressive with him or thinks he is being too much? Or what if he is the hardcore type who doesn't know how to treat him well?, and-the sex, what if he is the rough type? And what happened to his last little boy or girl? what was the reason he or she is not with him again?. Jamie had a lots of questions which he can never bring himself to ask. He rather just keep things to himself and forget about having a caregiver until he is very sure he is fully ready.
Not like he doesn't want to have a caregiver or be cared for. He just doesn't think he is ready for that yet.
"My answer still stand the same, no."
