Buildings crumbled under the crushing weight, cars were flattened like tin cans and death can hide in any space on the ground. Survival hinged on frantic efforts to escape these gravitational pockets. Very soon it was clear that salvation can only be achieved by getting closer to the sky in skyscrapers or inside any aircraft, where the increase in gravity is much weaker. Rachel was overwhelmed by a wave of people who wanted to reach top floors of the building.

In those moments Rachel thought he was climbing the summit but not in the way he had imagined. From the large windows of the sixty-seventh floor you could only see devastation like a bombardment that don't come from the sky but from the core of the planet. A macabre and absurd thought takes shape in Rachel's head. Now it would be easier to make a career with fewer competitors. Sure, but being the manager of a company in the midst of the apocalypse wouldn't have made sense like her ambitions in that situation.

If she had foreseen the end of everything she would certainly have led a more balanced life, which allowed her to enjoy every single moment to the fullest.
