Origin of the Guide - 1

Hnaw Seled, a 15-year-old boy, wearing turned clothes, shabby hair not washed from days, an old bag leaning on his shoulders. He was wandering in the mountainous forest, searching for the food for his family, as it was a wartime all of their village's stored food was taken away by the military soldiers for themselves and drought made it difficult to even to obtain water to drink lest alone to grow crops for food. Many villagers go to search for food in mountainous forest, risking their lives from the mountain's animal, for the survival of their beloved ones. A small village with honest and timid villagers was satisfied as the soldiers didn't kill anyone in their village or took their children to become their slaves.

Hnaw was only boy in his family of eight; him, his mother, his father, his two younger sisters, his grandmother and two old father's aunts. His father was suffering from an unknown disease which make unable to move in dark and as he was malnutritioned it was impossible for him to climb the mountain. None of the family members were able to wander in dangerous forest except for his mother. They would likely take turns in days to collect fruits, medicinal grass, hunt small animals or other useful things. Days went by and as the mountain was the only source of food for Hnaw's village and other villages the foot of the mountain nearly dried out not leaving a single leave on the trees. The villagers, now had to go in the further deep forest which was more dangerous than the foot of the mountain. The journey from the village to the forest took a quarter of daytime, so to go further deep they would require more time. In general one would require at least thirty hours to go from village to deep within the mountain forest, search for food while keeping distance from wild animals and return. So Hnaw and his mom decided to for a three-day turns. For two nights they will reside in a cave little deep in the forest which Hnaw discount by chance. They never joined the groups of villagers as they knew even if it would increase the chance of their survival it will the decrease the shares of their food which could sometimes be negligible to their family of eight.

It was Hnaw's turn, he was wandering here and there, while all the villagers were anxious about how to find food he was carefree. While wandering he saw a man sitting on a tree. He was aiming to shoot his arrow on a wild rabbit who was w walking outside its burrow perhaps to find food for itself. Hnaw, when saw that the man was going to shoot down the arrow he hid himself in bush and threw a stone at his flying arrow changing its projection. The arrow missed the target and the rabbit got startled and hid itself in the burrow. The man knew that someone deliberately hindered his hunt, he jumped down from the tree in furious manner and start searching for the man who took his meal away. Hnaw was still hiding in the bush. He never liked hunting. In his thoughts it was wrong of someone to destroy others life for his own good, be it rather humans or animals. He was by nature very kind. Many times he was caught by the villagers and for this very reason the hated him. But Hnaw, even if was drove at the edge would always think of others prosperity without hurting anyone. While hiding, he heard a bell. When he heard it he frightened because he also did heard the rumors about the bell man. People said that in the nearby village there lived a man with the bells, a gift from his late father who was a butcher. That man was cruel as whenever someone angered him he would chop the other party into pieces. As there was no order and law in the villages, one day villagers formed a group and tried to kill him, but they failed. He was so strong that he killed all the 47 villagers who tried to kill. He was so furious that he didn't even leave their family alone. Furthermore, he killed all 47 villager's family not even leaving the women and the children who were completely innocent. Hnaw despised him, but he knew that he was no match for him, he covered his mouth and sat there as knew given that man's sharp senses and strength neither he could outrun him nor he could sneak away. He began thinking that he was going to become one the villagers who died while searching for food, still he was not regretting saving the rabbit. He was happy that he had a good family, although it was going to be hard for them to survive. He was happy that he did save as many as lives he could. He just wanted to say goodbye to his mother to take care of her and to not push herself too much. That man's footstep were now approaching Hnaw. Hnaw thought that these were his last moments. He had a wish that he couldn't fulfill, to have a full meal in the night with his family where hi two sisters were laughing, his mom wasn't stressed, his father was moving freely, his grandmothers were chatting about their own times and nagging at him to go to village school, where they were going to bed with their stomach full. He was seeing this vision with his eyes closed. Furthermore, he found himself getting farther and farther away from them. He was trying to say something to them, but his voice wasn't reaching them as if he was there but not there at same time. Suddenly he found a hand on his head.

Origin of the Guide-2

The touch of that hand was rather gentle. When Hnaw opened his eyes, to hos surprise he was in the front of the village instead of behind a bush in the deeper forest. Hnaw was not sure about what just happened. He racked his brain many times but situation but couldn't find an answer to why he was there suddenly. At last Hnaw decided to discuss this with his mother, he hurriedly rushed into the village to tell his mother about it. But the next thing Hnaw noticed was that it was already dusk time, it was also a noticeable thing as for Hnaw, a minute ago it was dead noon. The time also changed which made Hnaw sure that something definitely happened in the time he didn't knew.

But the thing that was more surprising to him was that there wasn't a single voice of human being in the villages. He could hear the animals groaning, but he wasn't sure that what happened. When he was passing by a house he suddenly saw blood spoiled on the floor running out of below the door's gap with floor. He was shocked, he instantly opened the door and the scene he saw was beyond his belief. There was a pile of corpse in the middle of the hall of that house from which the blood was running through. What frightened Hnaw more was that inside that pile were familiar hands that he regularly saw, but as he couldn't saw the face of the corpse he didn't believed that it could ve his mother and grandmother. He fell on the floor and was unable to move.

Still he mustered courage thinking that it wasn't that he saw. His mother could be at home waiting for him. He gathered himself, stood up and ran towards his house. He was crying and shouting his mother's name throughout the way. He reached the front door of his house, but he didn't have the courage to open it.

'Mom are you there, I am back. Mom! Answer me mom, I am here. Ain't you going to ask what happened to me, why I am crying, why did I come back early today? Mom! Please, please don't scare me it isn't funny mom." said Hnaw sobbing. He then opened the door, the wasn't locked, and again he saw a horrible scene, a pile of corpse. This pike was different, it was rather small but more horrible for Hnaw. This time Hnaw could definitely saw the faces of all the corpses, they were his family members. A pile of five. That moment he knew that he was the only one remaining. He wished it could all be just a nightmare but all the things were too real. He was confused, he again ran to the neighboring house, opened the gate, and he saw the same scene again. He rushed to every house, but there was not a single person alive in the village.

He then went to the first house again, that was the house of the village head, where the largest pile was, he pulled his dead mother's hand out of the pile. After many efforts he was able to separate his mother's dead body from the corpses. His mother was holding firmly a book in her hand. That book was mysterious but Hnaw didn't notice it. He also pulled his grandmother out and by efforts took them to the yard of their house along with other family members. Then again he started crying.

The next evening the remaining villagers returned and they saw their beloved ones lying dead. Their world shattered and they were unable to think anything. All of them started crying. The village was in a mess. Hnaw was sitting motionlessly in the yard. Then a man come, it was that man in the forest, at fist he was furious but when he saw Hnaw he calmed down. He walked towards Hnaw when Hnaw saw his feet he knew that it was him. He said to the man, "You are here to kill me right, I knew that you would come cause everyone knew that I am the only one who would save a prey's life. As you are here just kill me, I won't retaliate, but still just bury me and my family together. I wasn't able to dig a grave for them. I am just a good for nothing."

That man didn't say anything. Instead, he started digging the yard. He dug seven graves and said to Hnaw, "Your dying won't change anything anyway just let them rest, they all died together so their souls would so be together. They long left you alone, even if you die now you won't be able to chase them. But still if you want to die just dug your own grave. "

Tears stated falling through Hnaw's eye silently. It was a full moon night. He remembered that it was the most awaited night in the house. As his father was able to slightly move in the moonlight. His father promised him that on this night he will feed him with his own hands. But Hnaw cried and said "Why didn't you fulfilled your promise, just why did you all left me alone, how am I supposed to live now?"

After hours of crying Hnaw stood up, wiping his tears, he started to bury them in the graves. That man was also sitting there, when he saw Hnaw he helped him. Hnaw thanked him and also asked about the rumors. That man told him that the whole village hated his father for some reason, but his father was strong so no one dared to go against him but when he died they wanted to release their frustration on him, they wanted to kill him but little did they knew that man was many times stronger than his father. As they attempted to murder him he was merely defending himself, but he suddenly fainted and when he came to himself half of the village was already slaughtered. He didn't did it but no one believed.

That man handed over the book Hnaw's mother was holding in her hand to keep it as a memory of his mother. Then he returned to his home. Hnaw saw that for that very fisrt time, but when he touched the book it felt familiar to him. After racking his brain many times he remembered that the book gave a familiar feeling similar to the hand that touched his head in forest. He opened the book out of curiosity but he was sucked into the book. When he opened his eyes he was in the space, which was completely new for him.
