Prologue

 You get only one life they said, live it to the finest. The so called "life" with extremely short span was indeed a blessing for beings with knowledge as less as a speck of dust in a universe. If only they had known that they are wasting it in living to the finest.

 180 AD

 Persian Empire

 Parthian reign (Arcases XLV)

 Susa

 On the outskirt town of capital there lived a middle class merchant's son who was training to wield a sword. The boy is about 12 years old named "Malvin Chronos"*.

 "Father! I will become the best swordsman. Do you believe that I'll succeed". "Ah"said the father "yes my son as long as you stay true for it." "Then ill stay the most true to my target" said Malvin. "Ha-ha" father laughed proudly, "now that's the spirit my son but remember never give up when fate wants to mold you to change your course". "Yes father I will peirce through the fate like a spear." "Ha Ha Ha!" father laughed heartously amazed by his son "now that's my son but remember Malvin you can go stand firm when fate goes against you but you can never mold it according to your likes". "What does that mean father? " Malvin asked "you'll know when you'll encounter it".

 10 years later

 "Roman scouts!" yelled the soldier "Roman scouts on the south." "Malvin! Hurry! "said the captain "take these men and lead them to set up an ambush don't let anyone flee" "yes sir! " Malvin said assuringly "come on boys, lets give em a hell".

 Malvin ran and mounted on his horse and left with 7 men consisting of 2 tankers , 4 archers and his friend Samim*

 who was a swordsman. They all rushed out of the post on their horses and raced to the south of the town to a remote location near the border lands he positioned his men and laid traps on the road.

 The evening arrived and darkness almost enveloping the land they saw convoy approaching. It had around 12 men gaurding a cart with a chest that somewhat seemed odd because something red with a little of black shade was being emitted from it and it was glowing in a strange way. The convoy moved and soon it encountered the trap of hidden crossbows which took out 2 men on the front. "Ambush!!"yelled the roman soldier "it's the persia…. " arrow went through the throat of the alerting soldier. The ambush of Malvin had already begun the attack and his positioned archers took down 3 men one after another. Soldiers hurriedly dismounted and took cover behind their horses but unfortunately for them they were being targeted from all sides and one after another they got targetted by the archers. Seeing the situation 3 men fleed but soon they faced Samim as they made the move.Samim rushed to the soldier and slashed him from the side. The other 2 seeing that turned around and took the stance to clash as they had no other choice. Samim stepped ahead and spinned whilst swinging his sword beheading and cutting the chest open of other. After the clash they searched them up and gathered one of the archers retrieved a letter from the corpse of enemy and handed it to Malvin. He read the letter and said, while looking concerned "Hmm, that's strange it looks like an order from the capital." "what should we do then" asked Samim. "what can we do let's report it to captain" said Malvin. They took the cart and then made way back to the post.

 Samim on the way asked "Malvin what do you think there could be in the chest." "I don't know it can't be gold or gems because they don't make the chest emit strange lighting. Let's not think about it and better report it fast we'll know soon what was being transported right under our nose" said Malvin. "agreed" Samim answered while nodding.

*The name malvin is originally malwan which in persian means sailor.

*Samim is also a persian word which means close as in close friend

Origin of it all descends from singularity.

 "Bring it over" Malvin indicated to the cart. "Don't tell me that they were taking gold" captain asked. "No sir" replied Malvin. "Hmm that's strange then what could have been doing behind the enemy lines". "Like hell if I know sir" replied Malvin. "Then let's open'er up boys Samim call the locksmith I'm sure that he'll help" captain said. "Yes sir!" replied Samim.

 "Any guesses?" captain asked Malvin. "I'm not sure sir never seen anything like that" Malvin replied. "That is really strange do you see what I'm seeing" captain asked. "You mean that strange glow?" replied Malvin. "Yes, what could that be?" said captain whilst being confused in the sight of strange chest.

 (distant chatting sounds approach them) "I told you mister if it's the locks I'm the only one you can count on. There's no lock that I cant open" lock smith said to Samim. "Captain, here's what you demanded" said Samim. "Very well Samim. Now mister looks like you're hooked up with us since we didn't wanted to spoil something in chest by just breaking it so I suppose you can maybe help us,if so that'll be of great service to your king" captain asked the lock smith. "Ha ha yes sir im simply the best will you let me examine it" asked lock smith. "Sure help yourself" captain said "are you sure you can open it". "hmm that's not a strange chest to begin with its simple one but what's strange is that glow" said lock smith while examining the chest "now we'll open it". Lock smith took a wire and begins his work. (clicking sounds) "it's open sir"said the smith and backed from the chest. Malvin, Samim, and Mayhin (captain) gather around and are still confused by the object which happens to be a skull of a goat which has some strange kind of dark red color liquid which seemingly on direct sight cannot be called blood because it has strange color to begin with and a most odd kind of glow.

 "well men it looks like we encountered something even more odd then the chest"captain Mayhin said. "Isn't that blood" Samim asked. "Maybe? Who knows?" said Malvin. "let's hand it over to mobad*" said captain Mayhin "Malvin take it to the temple they might know something about for sure". "yes sir!" Malvin replied and went to his horse "come on men this day gets stranger by the minute". He mounted on his horse and along with Samim went to main towns temple with the chest. "Malvin don't you think this skull might have some connections with Ahriman's* followers work. I heard they were active these days and have been growing near the borderlands along the mountains facing Tabriz*" Samim asked Malvin. "I don't know I've also heard the rumors but lord Ahura* knows the truth we can just guess".

 They continued the journey and reached the main town where temple was. They went in the temple grounds, dismounted from their horses and ordered the men that tagged along with them to lift the chest and follow them. They entered the temple along with the chest and a few preachers there stare at them and continue their prayers. A few mobads are present there besides the . One of them stands and approaches them and asks "what bring you here today, you aren't here for offerings are you?". " No! Oh wiser one we'd like to use your knowledge to help us to know what is this"said Malvin and turned around and opened the chest. Mobad gets shocked at seeing the content of the chest "w-where did you find it?" asked mobad. "we intercepted it from romans near borderlands" Malvin answered "do you happen to know what this is?". "Yes, I do know what that is it's the piece of ritual from Ahriman's followers but what shocking is that blood it's as just as was told with shimmering glow of fire of destructions energy from the blood that was spilled by the clash of Ahura and Ahramin but I'm its not real because it occurred generations before and there are no records of it getting preserved same did happen to the body it was reduced to cinders." Malvin replied "than our answer could be found after we meet those hidden bastards who worship the disaster". "yes but be very careful because what you're holding can wreak havoc too and it might also be conflicting when you take it to their temple" said mobad. "wise one could you happen to know where that temple might be?" asked Malvin. "No I've only heard rumors that they might be around tabriz mountains" mobad replied. "Very well then I'm off I'll do my offerings soon" Malvin said and headed out of temple along with Samim and the men that carried the chest. "Looks like our day's here are finally in motion I've been itching to kill some enemies lately" said Samim. "Watch your words, it could deviate from your ideal desire and might bring a fatal fate. I just hope that things don't go off" Malvin said. Relax we're not off to kill Ahriman himself you wise disciple of Ahura it's just some puny coward followers" Samim said. "Can't say anything without captains approval" said Malvin and mounted on his horse and left back towards the main post. 

*Ahriman is evil diety of zorostrian religion 

*Ahura is the main deity of zorostrian religion

*mobad is a religious scholar of zorostrian religion. 

*tabriz was the borderland on romans side which came under Byzantium it faced mountains of Persian empire's Atrapatene and also was a trade route 

In my perfect life fate cornered me. 

"Captain we're back" 

[i came back but the way its getting strange is not giving a pleasent feeling. Its just like I'm going to soon reach a turning point something i haven't seen or wanted to encounter] 

"Oh Malvin! You're back, so what happened?" 

"The mobad said that it's the work of rituals of Ahriman's followers." 

"Not going to lie but i never believed in fairytales from the beginning but since i opened the chest it feels like a new world will soon engulf this one" 

[captain feels the same] 

"Yessir, it does get unpleasant by every passing moment." 

"so what did he (mobad) say did he give you any leads or clues to what should be done with this." 

"Sir he told me that he's not sure that what might be the purpose behind it but he said that we can get our answers if we were to meet up with them(Ahriman's preachers) personally."

"Hmm, if it's something that involves Romans then we might get into trouble for not reporting it to Atropatene* fort but the thing is it involves people on our side and they are traitors in the first place so we will be in trouble for not keeping them in record and we'll be accused of being involved in it too."

"So... What do you devise?" 

[looks like captain also ran out of choices]

"I can't afford to loose good men but it looks like im cornered to give a hard decision so i guess we'll have to just cover this on our own."

"So what's the decision." 

"you'll have to go Malvin take Samim and few of these men and find those traitors."

"Yessir! come on guys let's get over it" 

(Samim) "Gosh I've been itching for some fight i guess we'll have fun".

(Malvin)"Bring the horses"

(Samim) "This is going to be fun"

(Malvin) [you'll never change] 

" YAHH" "let's go" 

 All of them follow Malvin to the mountains besides the borderlands and finally they find a path. 

(Samim) "Hey! Isn't this the abandoned route? It was abandoned because people used to reportedly dissappear from here".

(Malvin) "I don't know else but the priest told me this way." 

[obviously he didn't I'm just guessing the path on my instincts] 

As they move on they see a little boy lying unconscious. 

(Malvin) " Halt!" Malvin dismounts from the horse "in formation men stay on gaurd". He moves towards the boy lifts his head and taps his face "hey there buddy is everything alright? what happened to you? Samim give the boy a ride on your horse." 

(Samim) "he's unconscious." 

(Malvin) "Then use your head to find a way to carry this child" 

(Samim) "Tsk _ tsk so mean." 

(Malvin) " I guess we should split up. I'd not like to draw any attention. You men take this boy and stay here. If i dont appear till morning go down and bring someone" 

(Samim) " For Ahura's sake what's the worst that could happen, we're just going to catch some cowards hiding in the mountain."

(Malvin) [this guys] "We should always be ready for the worst. Im just taking measures for the possibility." 

(Samim) "Whatever." 

 They proceed further and they hear a whistle for just a short moment of time. 

(Malvin) [what was that] "On gaurd men". 

"aaargh" 

(Malvin) "AMBUSH!! take cover."

(Samim) "These bastards i thought we were going to encounter unarmed preachers" 

 Malvin as he was seeking shelter from the arrows saw the man's corpse getting blue. 

(Malvin) [what is that poison] "Men take full cover they're shooting poisoned arrows. Protect yourselves!!" 

(Samim) "what the hell are these bastards upto" he turns around and sees the archer covering himself behind his horse. As he was just seeing he also examined trajectory of arrows and finally pinpointed the location of enemy archer who was targeting from highground. "Hey you! Gimme your bow and arrows."

(Malvin) "The hell are you upto. We gotta fall back before more guys come and surround us. Someone give cover"

(Samim) "I got you guys you move i have spotted few rats ill take them down."

(Malvin) "hey go help Samim" [we can't let them have the chest] " we'll fall back Samim watch our rear let's go guys" 

As they try to fall back an arrow hits one of covering archers, who was with Samim, in his back. 

(Malvin) "****!!! We're surrounded." 

A man from uphill appears "Give up we have surrounded you. You cant escape now." 

(Samim) "like hell we wi..." gets hit by an arrow. 

"I told you you cant run so stop resisting and give up." 

(Malvin) "Who the hell are you?" 

(the man uphill) "Thats what i should be asking." 

(Malvin) "No i will fight till i die." 

(the man uphill) "Then see everyone die. Well not die technically paralyzed to be precise. You guys really helped us to get some samples and to be honest you also brought back the thing that we will be using in our experiment."

(Malvin) [What?] " What do you mean by sample. "

(the man uphill) " you'll know soon. "

 An arrow pierces Malvin's arm. 

(Malvin)" Aarghh... " [ my vision it its blacking out. No my men. I gotta save them.]

Malvin staggers and then collapses as poison begins to paralyze him. 

*Atropatene was a province of Parthian empire that faced Roman Persian border.
