, that was the sound of my computer's keyboard. I glanced down towards the time "3A.M in the morning." I'm surrounded by darkness as usual.

Once again I was made to stay after hours to complete Ash's files, but I guess it's better than enduring her torment.

I know I'm not as pretty as her, or even as curvy as her, sure I might be a little bland on the eyes, but I do have one thing she doesn't have, and that's an education.

I came into this company shortly after completing my studies, full of life and vigor, a break from the teasing and taunting eyes of my peers.

As I walked through the doors ready to work, I was met by the secretary, Ash.

I introduced myself happily like a dog freed from its leash "I'm Raya M, the companies newest addition!" So naive.

Ash flicked a piece of hair from her head to the side " Yes, welcome Raya we have no time to chit-chat you must get straight to work!"

And work I did, some could even say I was happy doing it until...

"Rayaaaaaaaa!" Ash's voice echoed across the office floor, I checked my watch " 1:59 P. M. Swinging my chair around I smiled and answered "You need something Ash?"

Ash's eyes widened and her lips puckered "Ray Rayyyyy can you finish this paper for me I want to go out tonight but I don't think I could possibly finish in timeee."

Ash pointed the paper at me still giving me puppy eyes.

I sighed to myself " Not like I have anything better to do right?"

I took the paper, and managed to finish by my designated hours.

Little did I know that this was the beginning of a never ending cycle.

3 months later

"Raya I need this paper done by tomorrow, thank you darling!"

Ash began to scurry off whilst on her phone before I stopped her "Ash.. I can't keep carrying both of our work loads it's extremely exhausting you'll have to take this back." I nudged the paper that she had tossed so effortlessly on my desk back in her direction.

Ash stopped in her tracks glaring at me " so you're saying you won't do it for me Raya?"

Her tone was scarily emotionless as she tilted her head questioningly.

"I can't do it Ash."

Ash waltzed up to my table and snatched her paper " That's ok Raya, I'll finish it."

And with that she walked away.

I breathed a sigh of relief "Finally, A BREAK!"

That was the first day since I arrived here that I could go home early and take a well deserved nap.

I woke up the next day feeling refreshed, "Today's going to be a great day!"

I set off to work whistling a cheery tune. As I arrived at my desk I was horrified.

I clutched my head into my palms, every. single . file and paper was scattered on my desk and soaking wet!

In my despair I heard a familiar sound, Ash's heels connecting to the office tiles, she stopped at my desk " Oh dear! Who could've done such a thing?"

She placed her hand on her mouth " doesn't that mean you'll have to start all over again?"

"It's her, SHE did this." I turned to Ash, fists clenched, "Luckily for me I have all of my files and information duplicated on my laptop." I smiled "Just some extra ink."

Ash was visibly taken aback by this and walked off muttering to herself.

Whilst I panicked to myself "What have I done? I didn't mean to cause any trouble."

Well I'm in big trouble now, I've made an enemy of my superior, Raya, the suck up, has made an enemy of her superior.

The thought remained in my head as I chuckled to myself "You idiot."

From that day onward Ash made it her life goal to torment me, one mistake, I swear, just, ONE mistake, has changed my work environment to this extent?

Locks on my drawers, passcodes on my files, flash drives, accounts, I'm tired...

Once again a familiar sound echoed down the office floor.

I lowered my head prepared to be berated, "Raya, we're having an office party tonight to congratulate this floors good work..... you're invited." Ash said with a bright smile.

I raised my gaze to meet hers "And you decided to personally invite me? What kind of setup is this?"

"Raya you dare accuse your superior of setting you up?"

I scoffed, "I'll be there."

Ash smirked and walked away smugly. "What is that witch planning this time?"

I rustled my hands through my hair visibly stressed, "I need a new job."

.....Later that night.....

I put a nice dress on and returned to the office where Ash bombarded me at the door, "RAYYYYYAAA.....welcommeee." She screeched grabbing for my shoulder.

I pushed her hand away walking down the hall, she followed me handing me a drink.

"Raya I know we've had our differences but I think it's about to we move on.....like adults!"

Swirling my fingers in the bubbly drink I replied "We've only had differences because you tried to use me."

She placed her index on my lips, shushing me "But I'm trying to fix it right? We're both mature adults here."

Ash is clearly under the influence, slurring her speech, acting out of code.

Ash gestured to the drink "Are you not gonna drink it, I had it waiting for you!"

"You probably drugged it." I replied.

Ash sighed pouring the drink into her mouth, she held my face pressing her lips against mine. "Does it taste like a drug?"

I gasped stepping into the corner , face turning red "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT???"

Ash shrugged and walked away giggling.

As she walked I rushed to the bathroom to wash my face and cool down. What is this feeling? "NO, I'm not into that, it was a mistake."

Ash entered behind me "Everything ok Raya?"

"Why're you everywhere I turn? What do you want from me??"

Ash laughed as she leaned against the sink, "I don't want anything from you Raya, you defied me, now I'll show you a world of pain, and suffering."

Just then my vision blurred and my head felt heavy "You bitc....." to total darkness.

I woke up to Ash telling our co-workers that I had to much to drink and she'll be taking me home.

I tried to run... And I tried to scream, but no movements were made...no sound came out...is this the end for me?

My eyes slowly opened once more, my vision blurred, the world around me felt as if it was moving in slow motion.

Above me loomed a man, licking his lips lustfully, I looked down and to my horror, he was attempting to take advantage of me.

Ash's voice interrupted the man's gaze " Is she awake yet? I want the brat to witness everything, I want to see the pain in her eyes and hear the hurt in her voice, make sure she's awake!"

The man above me scoffed "She's awake alright."

A small voice in my head chimed in " You can't let this happen Raya...you need to RUN." But the voice spoke in vain, I couldn't control my body, I couldn't scream or yell, I'm helpless.

As I laid there, emotionless and helpless, enduring the man's entrance a sole tear fell from my face, the heartless man above me slammed against my body ruthlessly until the act came to completion, only then did my body allow me to burst into tears.

The man rolled off of me and groaned in satisfaction, he slumped in his seat lighting a cigar, only in that moment did I notice that we were in a car.

In the front seat, driving the car, was Ash, to my left was the man, the man that had just assaulted me, and to my right, I could see that we were on a highway.

I glanced to my left, checking to see if the man was paying attention, he wasn't, with every ounce of strength left in my body I pushed the door open and flung myself behind it in one motion.

I fell, but slowly, I could see the car running along the road before I hit the ground, I felt so light and free, like nothing around me mattered and then.....darkness.

I opened my eyes to a bright light, and the sound of beeping.

"Did I survive?"

A hollow and robotic voice replied "No... No you did not survive Raya."

The voice paused "I am V, I am life, death and everything in between, I am the creator and destroyer of galaxies, I am .... God."

V let out a sarcastic laugh "God...only humans believe in god."

In confusion I muttered " So if you're not a God...who are you?"

A space shattering silence echoed across what I had just noticed to be a bright white and seemingly endless space.

V replied "I am the spiritual guide into your next life, I am the being who transport's the living and the dead to their next destination, no life is like the last and no death is like the first , but life and death is a never ending cycle."

I rubbed my head in thought " So, who is the one above you?"

V paused once more "What makes you think there's someone above me Raya?"

"Well, V , I'd assume someone made or created you, you can't just exist."

V cut me off with a booming laugh " That's the problem with humans, they believe because they exist that someone must have created them with purpose, they believe that everything happens for a reason, they believe it is GOD'S will, but Raya, do you believe a god who loves and cherishes his creations would allow children to be harmed, trafficked,abused, assaulted and even murdered?"

"There's no reason for these horrific acts to be committed other than the lack of souls that the universe has been met with."

I guess I seemed visibly confused, not able to control my facial structure, so V continued.

"Let V give you a life lesson Raya. Every soul has a limited amount of uses, after a soul is born, it can be reincarnated nine times before it becomes useless, think of it like this, you can only add so much water to a cup of cherry syrup before it becomes flavourless, the concept of souls is the same."

I once again pondered, taking in this new information "How is there a lack of souls, are you not the creator of souls?"

"I am V, our full name is VR, R stepped down because he became too aware of death, V is all knowing, R is all powerful together, we have the ability to create souls, V knows how to create souls whilst R has the power and ability to create souls , without V and R together, no new souls can be born."

"Well, that makes sense but if you're all knowing how do you not know how to make R come back?"

V responded in a solemn tone " R does not want to come back, and I can't make him."

"But don't you need R V?"

"Let V tell you something Raya, R stepped down from his position, V needs someone capable of taking that position, someone all powerful, so let V make a deal with you, I will reincarnate you into the time and space where V and R met and became one, become all powerful, and only then will we be complete."

"What's in it for me V?"

"Power, and an infinite life force."

"what does that mean?"

"It means you will never have to experience life or death again, you will exis" to create and watch over your creations."

"Sounds fair enough, when can I start."

V's feminine but robotic voice chimed in " Assessing bodily damage, 68% bodily damage, three seconds until repair."

Just then I felt my bones and muscle contorting and readjusting, I screamed in agony until everything went black.
