New Guy
Taehyung whined. Jungkook snickered playfully.
Jungkook
Quit your act. It's the weekend and that really doesn't mean that we're going to cuddle all day.
Jungkook said, grabbing his toothbrush already.
Taehyung huffed loudly, before getting up from the bed lazily. He walked towards his bunny boyfriend of 3 years only to give a sloppy kiss on his neck.
Jungkook
"Mm… We slept enough now, TaeTae."
Jungkook protested, a red hue forming on his cheeks.
Taehyung chuckled. He always loved the way Jungkook would get shy whenever he did something, even if it were 3 years that they were dating.
Taehyung
"What? I am not asking you to sleep, am I?"
Taehyung asked with a fond smile.
Jungkook pouted.
Jungkook
I know the moment you kiss my nape, I understand it all.
Taehyung kissed his pouty lips.
Taehyung
Fine. Let's just go and freshen up.
Jungkook didn't protest when Taehyung dragged him towards the restroom. That was their everyday routine.
Taehyung
Can we go on a date today, bun?
Taehyung asked softly. Jungkook frowned.
Jungkook
N-no it's better if we stay at home. We can be ourselves, freely
Jungkook said, eyes are already sparkling at the mention of spending time with Taehyung without anyone watching them.
But on the other hand, Taehyung frowned sadly. He was a man proud of who he was, he loved pampering his boyfriend in front of everyone. But Jungkook was the complete opposite, he couldn't embrace himself. He feared the judgmental eyes others would give them.
But love? No. Jungkook loves Taehyung more than himself and Taehyung knows it well, maybe that's why he's still with him.
Jungkook's eyes saddened, at his silence.
Jungkook
T-tae, Don't you like the idea?
Taehyung sighed and just like any other day he decided to push over.
Taehyung
If that's what makes you comfortable, we'll spend time at home.
Jungkook flashed his bunny smile and what Taehyung wants more now.
Jungkook
Okay! Now since we had our breakfast, let's watch a movie! How about-how about watching a movie?! Yeah!
Jungkook ranted. Taehyung wanted nothing but smooching his baby which he did.
Taehyung
We'll do anything our little princess wants
Taehyung said smooching his mushy cheeks again. Jungkook giggled.
Jungkook
Yes!! Let's watch--
Taehyung
Captain America, I know…
Taehyung shrugged. Jungkook's smile dropped, as his lips molded in an offending pout.
Jungkook
It was Iron Man this time.
Taehyung
Oopsie, did I upset my honey?
Taehyung
Won't you forgive your handsome boyfriend?
Taehyung batted his eyelashes. Jungkook giggled, nose crunched up.
Jungkook
Okay! Just because he's handsome.
Just like the whole day passed without them knowing. They loved each other to the fullest and that's what matters in a relationship, isn't it?
Taehyung couldn't help but curse internally, knowing it was Monday the other day. He has to endure another 6 days away from him boyfriend. They stuck to each other in the university too, but under the label of best friends.
Taehyung's thoughts were snapped out when he felt a snuggling bunny against his chest. Taehyung chuckled, every worry falling away from his mind just like it had been for the past three years.
One day, just one day, Jungkook would reveal their relationship. Be proud of himself and Taehyung, this thought keeps Taehyung endure it all.
With a last peck on his lips, the duo walked towards their university leaving back their apartment; they shared.
Taehyung took a deep breath to make himself ready for everything, a very long day to be honest. He couldn't even hold his hand freely.
Jungkook wasn't good on the other hand. Blame anyone, but this point has been sensitive his entire life. He feared people hating him, he feared them calling him a freak and what not.
Jungkook
H-hyungie? Can we--
A beautiful lady approached the duo. She was so simple yet too polite.
Taehyung frowned and so did Jungkook, because the nickname gave butterflies to Jungkook only when Taehyung pronounced it and not any other girl.
Tzuyu
Hey Taehyung! Good morning
She smiled, Taehyung nodded.
Tzuyu
"Let's go to the class together, yeah?"
The other two nodded, as they entered the class.
And as usual, Jungkook sat beside Tzuyu and Taehyung with a sigh went to sit just behind him. Jungkook glanced at him secretly and flashed a small smile. Taehyung assured him with a smile until he felt a pat on his back.
He looked back only to find a new guy standing there with an awkward smile.
The guy asked nervously. Taehyung smiled back before nodding as he scooted inside. The guy settled himself just beside him.
Taehyung
Are you new here?
？？？
Y-yeah. My dad just transferred yesterday
Taehyung
Where's your hometown then?
Taehyung's eyes widened, more like he lit up.
Taehyung
Daegu?! Wait! That's my hometown too!
？？？
Oh really?! That's so cool! What's your name?
The other guy asked equally interested and curious.
Taehyung
Kim Taehyung. And you?
Bogum
Park Bogum. Nice to meet you, Taehyung.

Sooner when the lecture came to an end, without any thoughts Jungkook turned around to look at Taehyung.

Taehyung couldn't hold back his smile and tilted his head softly.
Bogum
If you don't mind can I join you guys?
Mingyu
Of course he won't, right Jungkook?
Jungkook gave a small smile when Mingyu slid his arm around his shoulder.
Taehyung looked down and Bogum eyed the guy suspiciously.
Mingyu
Mm. I'm Mingyu and you?
Mingyu
Let's go then Jungkook!
Jungkook nodded slowly. He wasn't so good with the thought of Bogum joining them. He grew a little too close to his boyfriend for his liking.
Sooner when they reached the canteen. They settled down when a few of their seniors visited them.
Jungkook was popular among them, more like it was them who involved him in their group.
Jiri
Hey Jungkook, how are you doing?
One of his seniors patted his shoulder. Taehyung scowled, the guy was a little too arrogant.
Joel asked pointing at Bogum.
Mingyu
He's Park Bogum. New admission.
Joel nodded his head looking up and down at the guy.
There was an awkward silence. Taehyung gritted his teeth. He did come out, and so he was excluded from having lunch with them, he hated the idea.
Taehyung
So that you'll not be friends with him, right?
He finally broke the silence. Jungkook looked up at him.
Joel smirked before he eyed Jiri.
Jiri
Right. We aren't supposed to be friends with gays, right Jungkook?
Jungkook stiffened as if a deer caught in red lights, with wide eyes he nodded his head slowly.
Bogum
But aren't they good friends?
Joel
It's just because they had to share the apartment, moreover Jungkook despises gay, and he's straight.
Joel defended. Bogum scoffed.
Bogum
I'm happy that I got to know about you guys, I don't want to be friends with people like you.
Jiri
That clearly means you're gay.
Bogum
I don't find it important to disclose my sexuality. Let's go and have lunch Taehyung.
Bogum demanded. Jungkook gulped, he eyed Taehyung hesitantly.
And to his bad, Taehyung nodded. The duo, then walked towards another table that was quite far away from Jungkook's.
Jungkook pursed his lips. His sad eyes staring at Taehyung.
Joel
That's good they went away, isn't it Jungkook?
Jungkook looked up and nodded with a faint smile. Mingyu eyed Jungkook before sighing out. The guys sat on the table.
Jiri
Did Amber arrived yet?
Joel
Um, she told me that she'll be late.
Amber
Hi guys. Did you start eating already?
She said sitting down just beside Jungkook.
Jiri
No. We were waiting for you.
Amber
Thank you. By the way, where's Tzuyu, Jungkook?
He said slowly. His boyfriend was nowhere in front of his sight, either day they would always steal glances with each other.
But today he was just out of Jungkook's sight.
Amber
Oh? Is that why you're sad? Come on, it's okay if you don't stay with your girlfriend for a while.
Jiri
Don't beat around the bush. Aren't we seeing how you're always sticking to her?
Joel
Yeah. We aren't blind Jungkook.
Amber
And anyways, you both look too good together.
Amber
Jungkook parted his lips to protest when Jiri butted in.
Jiri
I envy you, Jungkook. Girls literally die to be with you
He said with a heavy sigh. Mingyu stopped munching his food before he glanced at Jungkook.
Mingyu
They aren't in the relationship yet. Don't assume things.
Joel
Then, sooner or later they'll be together.
He said and other except for Mingyu and Jungkook nodded their heads.
Taehyung nodded his head, sighing.
Bogum
But wasn't it supposed to be a secret?
Taehyung
I don't care. You didn't judge me, so I guess it's safe telling you.
Bogum
But, you survived with it for 3 years? Wow.
Bogum
Don't mind me, Taehyung. One year is long enough to accept themselves, but three years is way too long. Do you even see a future with him?
Taehyung
Yes. He'll accept himself, one day or another.
Bogum
Fine. But I don't think so.
Taehyung couldn't even protest. He had nothing to protest, Jungkook gave him no reason. He just continued to hope for that day to arrive sooner.
Taehyung
Just make sure, you won't tell any of this to anyone, okay?
Bogum
Of course, Taehyung. Jungkook is actually a very good guy, he deserves the world but so do you. I hope he realises before it's too late
Taehyung called out softly. Jungkook stiffened before he looked around, frantically.
Taehyung
It's just us, Koo. No one is there
Jungkook frowned as he looked up with his sad doe eyes, all emotions flowing in as he hugged Taehyung tightly.
Taehyung hugged him back.
Jungkook whined. Taehyung chuckled before kissing his coconut head.
Taehyung
What made my baby upset?
Taehyung
Bunny, can I ask you something?
Taehyung took a deep breath.
Taehyung
When will we reveal our relationship?
"Relationship?" They heard another voice from the entrance of the empty class. Jungkook widened his eyes before pushing Taehyung away.
Jungkook
R-relationship? We- we are good friends and I don't know how I would say that to my seniors?
He fidgeted with his fingers while saying so. Tzuyu face palmed herself.
Tzuyu
He's your friend and there's nothing wrong with that, Kook.
Taehyung pursed his lips, holding his urge back, he clenched his fist.
Taehyung
Not just friends. He's my boyfriend.
Jungkook widened his eyes comically and so did Tzuyu.
Jungkook
No no no. Taehyung is just joking, right Taehyung?
Taehyung continued to stare at him unfazed. Jungkook gulped.
He replied coldly with a blank face.
One week
Bogum
Make it clear, Taehyung.
Taehyung clicked his tongue.
Taehyung
I don't want to lose him, Bogum!
Bogum
Why would he leave you? Doesn't he love you?
Taehyung
Of course, he loves me. But--
Taehyung
I'll try to convince him.
They continued to talk and Jungkook just watched them longingly.
Mingyu
Jungkook! Look at this.
Tzuyu
Don't tell me you're planning to propose to her.
Mingyu

It was finally the end of the cruel long hours of the university when the couple entered their apartment.
Taehyung closed the door behind, throughout the way Taehyung continued to ignore Jungkook. They didn't exchange a word.

Taehyungie, I'm sorry. I was just afraid.

You're always afraid there's nothing new.
He replied coldly. Jungkook bit on his lower lip.

Hyungie? Please forgive me.
Taehyung sighed before he pulled him closer.
Taehyung
I can't stay mad at you, baby. But until when? How far do you watch us go?
Jungkook squinted his eyebrows.
Jungkook
What do you mean by that? We're bound to stay together for the rest of our lives.
He giggled. But that wasn't funny for Taehyung. He has endured it enough. He stared at the boy with a blank face.
Taehyung
Together? Where? Behind these four walls?
Jungkook's smile dropped.
He paused, licking his lips anxiously.
Jungkook
J-just wait for sometime, Tae.
Taehyung demanded. Jungkook gulped, eyeing up at him hesitantly.
He had no answers to be honest and Taehyung knew it.
Gulping his pride, he held his baby boyfriend's soft hands in his hold.
Taehyung
One week. I will give you one week, Koo.
Jungkook looked up with teary eyes. He was confused and scared. Taehyung caressed his hair.
Taehyung
Don't be afraid, love. I'm there to protect you, we'll face everything together for the sake of our love.
Taehyung
I just need you. I just want you to accept me.
Jungkook
I accept you Hyung! I love you so much!
He said desperately. Taehyung smiled.
Taehyung
Do I not know that? I know it.
Taehyung
But understand me, baby. I want to love you, in front of everyone.
Jungkook bit on his lip before he hugged Taehyung.
Taehyung didn't stretch the talk any further. He said it, now it's Jungkook who will choose between his reputation or love.
Taehyung
Let's eat dinner now, okay?
Jungkook
I love you, TaeTae.
Taehyung
I love you more, pretty baby
Jungkook
I-I don't like that Bogum
Jungkook whined, tracing his chest, a pout adorning his lips.
He muttered in disbelief, head tilted. It was the first time that Taehyung said something like this.
Taehyung
So what? Do you not want me to hang out with him, yeah?
Jungkook shook his head as no.
And that angered Taehyung, at least for the slightest.
Taehyung
Okay. Once you stop hanging out with those senior friends of yours, I'll do too.
Jungkook
H-Hyung.. You know I can't
Jungkook whimpered. He despised the tone Taehyung was using on him. Never in his life did Taehyung ever talk rudely with him and now here he was.
Taehyung
Why Koo? All because of your reputation right?
Jungkook
What can I do Hyung? If only I wasn't friends with them, they would've bullied me, mocked me-
Taehyung
The day you will tell others that you're my boyfriend, trust me Koo, I'll protect you baby! I'll--
Jungkook
But you can't protect yourself. They still mock you and--
Jungkook paused, he realised what he just said. He looked up at Taehyung with wide eyes.
Taehyung
So you mean, I can't protect you?
Taehyung
Quit it. It's already late, let's sleep now.
Taehyung said turning his back to Jungkook. He was hurt. Jungkook clearly meant that Taehyung isn't worthy of being his boyfriend. He held back his tears and closed his eyes.
Jungkook didn't mean that way. Sniffing softly, he hugged Taehyung from behind snuggling against his back.
Jungkook
I didn't m-mean it hyung..
Jungkook
I-I trust you hyungie
Jungkook
P-please, I'm sorry.
Taehyung didn't respond instead he tried to sleep.
Jungkook
Hyung please talk to me. I'm sorry.
He pleaded to Taehyung who did nothing but walk ahead. It wasn't like he was ignoring on purpose.
Taehyung halted and turned to look at his small baby who was already on the verge of shedding tears. He caressed his cheeks.
Taehyung
It's okay. I forgave you, bun.
That all took, Jungkook to latch on him.
Jungkook
I-I felt s-so bad. Don't ignore Koo again.
Taehyung caressed his head.
Taehyung
Hyung won't ignore Koo again, mm?
Taehyung
Now come on, cheer up pretty princess.
He said softly knowing how Jungkook goes all peachy with that particular nickname. Jungkook giggled softly.
Jungkook
You know how to cheer me up
Taehyung
Of course. Because my baby is an angel.
Jungkook
Mm, don't make me shy.
He whined softly. Not being able to hold back, he kissed him on his lips.
They reached the university and again, the same thing went on but this time Taehyung wasn't all by himself.
There was Bogum who was by his side all the time and that somehow distracted Taehyung. Usually, he would sit alone and sad but now Bogum gave him company. He cheered him up now and then.
Jungkook would just watch them with longing eyes. The way Taehyung would laugh, he could actually see his boyfriend being happy for real.
Joel
Hey Jungkook! Why are you looking at those gays?
Jungkook stiffened before shaking his head.
Jungkook
No- no I wasn't--
Jiri
It's fine. Maybe they are in a relationship, and you might be thinking of ways to get off with that Taehyung guy, right?
Jungkook
M-maybe they aren't in a relationship. They--
Amber
Fine. We aren't supposed to discuss other people's relationships.
Amber
You should only care about her.
She said pointing at Tzuyu.
Jungkook frowned. He hated everything, he was suffocating to say the least. His heart felt heavy.
