His dark voice echoed. He raised his hands towards to the man in front of him, who was now carrying a young woman in his arms. A young woman who had a pale face.

"Why would I do that! I will never give her to you even if I lose my country!"

The man who was in the light, shouted. He was desperate. Desperate to save his country from this cruel man(the man in the shadows). But his heart belongs to this woman. If he had to sacrifice anything, he would sacrifice his own life over this woman. The woman he deeply loved.

Although he was a king, there is no way he could sacrifice his beloved!

He loves her more than the kingdom he reigned!

"Oh, but what if I say you'll get nothing in the end?"

The man in the shadows suddenly said.

"What?"

"You see, that woman you are carrying, I also love her."

The man glooming in the shadows had a smirk on his face, confessing the deep truth. But the other man did not believe him as he slightly backed away, feeling the tense in his feet. His body sharpened up, knowing this man was dangerous.

"Love? HAHAHA!" The man in the light, dryly laughed. "You love her? Yet, you tried every way to destroy her. IS THAT REALLY LOVE?"

"I do love her...but she chose you. So, I had to do something."

"YOU MONSTER!"

The man in the light then looked at the woman he was carrying... he looked at her pale face. The dry lips she had and the eyes that seemed to never open anymore. His body churn from thinking about the death of this woman. It felt his world would crumble if she will die. His face instantly darkened.

"You really are a monster to begin with..."

"...Call me whatever you want. But that doesn't really matter anyway. The thing is, the woman can still be saved."

"What?"

Suddenly, there was a slight hope that started arising from the man in the light.

"I have an antidote."

The man in the light suddenly flinched as his body shook by the unbelievable news.

"You...you are bluffing." Disbelief as he is, he tried to deny the man's words.

"I am not bluffing. After all, I made the poison myself."

The man in the shadows grinned menacingly. Contrarily, the man in the light had the opposite reaction.

"You... SO IT WAS YOU! YOU POISONED HER!"

Now, the man in the light had the urge that beyond of his control, raising his sword to the man hiding in the shadows. But, remembering he had the woman in his arms, the love forced his urge to stop.

"Give me the saintess and I'll make sure to treat her well and never appear in front of your sight again."

The man started thinking. He thought deeply. He knew that the man in the shadows was planning more sinister from this, but... if he doesn't give her to him, she'll die.

The other man wouldn't give the antidote that easily since, he also wanted the woman he loved.

He was also an ambitious man.

'Damn it.'

Finally, the man in the light made the decision.

"Fine, you can have her, Reiles."

The other man smirked at the drastic decision.

Eventually, the man had to let go of the woman he loved in order to save both the country and her life. Even if his love was sacrificed.

"Treat her well..." The man in the light had to swallow the deep pain.

In the end, just as the man was going to hand him over to the man in the shadows, the woman slowly woke up and only heard the last words of what her lover had said.

"...and for the sake of the country, I will give her to you."

The two men never noticed the woman was conscious, but as her lover slowly felt the woman's body trembling, he suddenly had second thoughts. Only after he saw her face crying in tears did he realize that he never wanted to let her go.

But it was too late, the woman thought that she was being sacrificed as she then decided to let go of herself from the man's arms. Hastily, grabbing the sword from her lover's hand.

The woman had tears dripping from her eyes like a fountain. The uncontrollable feeling of anguish and betrayal started flooding on her mind. Rationality left her, and the insanity controlled her will to die.

"If time goes back, I wished I will never love you again..."

"SLASH."

Blood splashed on the ground.

GAME OVER.

The words imprinted in the screen.

Seeing this, the woman whined as she couldn't believe what her eyes was seeing.

"GAHHH! WHYYYYY!" She whimpered. She put her head under her pillow as she couldn't bear herself to look at the game anymore.

Meanwhile, at the screen, there were words suddenly popping out.

[Do you want to turn back time in order for the game to continue?

As the woman saw the screen, her panda-face darkened.

"I AM TIREDD! I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!"

Just how many times do I have to play this in order to finish the game! I have done everything I can in order for the heroine to have an "happily ever after ending" but why does she always die!

"Nope. That's it. I am done. I need to rest now."

She stood up and walked towards the mirror. She then looked at herself. In the reflection, she could see her pale skin, a haggard face, dry lips and mostly her eyebags.

Danggg, now I really look like a panda...

After some countless sleepless nights, she drained herself from this game ever since she bought it from a convenience store.

It has been a month now, and ever since she laid eyes on this game, she was addicted on finishing it

Every game was addicting to her, but this game was somewhat special.

"My Heroine".

Similar to an otome game, where instead of being the heroine of the game, she is the npc. An npc which helps the heroine in succeeding all her tasks and help her achieve bonuses at the end of every quests.

This game will only finish with the right ending of the heroine, but all the endings that she had achieved so far were all "bad endings".

"I want to sleep."

Before heading to her bed, she was about to turn the television off, but then she was distracted by the words on the screen

She thought about it, and a few seconds later, she had picked a decision.

"I'll just continue it some other day..."

Then the screen was turned off and the world became dark. She lied on her room, and soon she felt her body becoming light.

A few hours later, she woke up.

As she stood up, she suddenly felt tiny. Her balance was awfully off and she fall on the ground with her buttocks aching.

"Aisssss..." She hissed at the pain. Then suddenly her eyes widened.

White hair?

Why is there a white hair here?

The room was dark but she could see a white strand of hair beside her...no...

As she grasped on it, trying to pull it out, as she suddenly felt the from her head. She groaned subconsciously,

"Oww!"

THAT HURT!

That hurt?

Only when she tried to stand up on her two tiny feet did she finally realized that there was something wrong about her. Eventually, while trying to walk herself out, she fell on the ground once more with her whole body lying on the floor.

No... this can't be happening...

Did I....possibly?...NO THAT CAN'T BE HAPPENING!

"I thought this were only in manhwas/mangas/manhua but I never expect it could be true!"

She didn't want to say the "word", forcing to swallow the reality she wanted to deny. But this was too unbelievable for her.

"A-!" She suddenly paused then burst after:" MY GOD! IT'S A MIRACLE!"

Without even letting Alcina say something, the door was suddenly slammed.

"Bang!"

Finally, the woman from before came back with a person beside her who was currently carrying a briefcase.

As they walked in, Alcina guessed that the identity of the other person was a doctor.

"Check her please."

The woman politely and worriedly requested the doctor.

The doctor paid no mind with the maid as he instantly did what he had to do. Alcina on the other hand had no choice but to quietly observed what the doctor was doing with her body. First, he checked her pulse then she checked every upper part of her body until there was nothing left. This was the only time that Alcina could feel that there was a bandage wrapped on her head.

So that's why my head was heavy and tight... But what did happen to the previous Alcina that she had this?

Just as she was confused as herself, the people around her were confused as well.

"Well, doc?"

"...miraculously...she is alive."

The woman gasped in shocked as she heard that.

Whereas, Alcina on the other hand was dumbfounded to say the least.

Huh? Aren't I breathing? Of course, I am alive. Is this guy dumb?

What made Alcina even more dumbfounded was how the woman beside the physician started tearing up.

"M-miss...is alive! Thank goodness!"

Then a sudden gasp escaped from Alcina's lips as the woman suddenly jumped in joy to hug her.

"Miss Alcina! My mistress! You are alive!"

Alcina didn't know what to do with this situation as she could barely breath by the tight embrace.

This was suffocating to her.

"Umm... excuse me, miss... I can't breath. And you must be?"

Suddenly, the woman flinched in shock. She suddenly let go of Alcina's body and exclaimed.

"What?"

Even the physician's eyes were wide. It seemed like he wasn't believing what he was witnessing too.

Alcina who was now prepared to accept any shocking reactions from them, slowly confessed. With her eyes closed and a big smile plastered in her face, she said.

"Sorry, but I think I can't remember anything... Hehe~"

Like an innocent child, she giggled.

A silent atmosphere instantly filled the room until, just as Alcina had guessed, they shouted dramatically.

"WHAT?!"

And this is how Alcina's life began.
