3rd Building

Intro

There are places which are better off never discovered by us.

It is said that curiosity kills and that saying might prove to be true at times.

What would you do if the new school you were just admitted into was suspicious to the degree that it felt spooky?

Hi, my dear beamers. Let me tell you a short story of the 3rd building of Dove School.

This will be a short story.

New school

Laura was always called the bravest of kids of her age. She was only 11 but she would always go around discovering new things. She was loved by all for her outgoing nature. Although at times it would also get her in trouble, she never let go of her always curious self.

Laura's father's job required him to transfer to different place after a certain period of time.

Laura was again transferring school. Transferring to new school was no big deal for her. She instead found it interesting as she would make new friend quite quickly, and she could discover her new school as a part of her adventure.

On the day of her admission in new school the principle strictly warned her not to roam around too much and not to go to places that she was not asked.

Those warnings and scolding only sounded like a formal gesture of hello for her. She believed that this is a tradition that all teachers and adults followed and never gave it much thought.

Her new school (Dove School) was huge with many students and 3 buildings. There were playgrounds and rooms for music dance and other activities but all of that was only around the first two buildings. The 3rd building was abandoned with rumors surrounding it.

She was assigned a class in the first building.

There were many students but why did the students seem so dull and the teachers…there was something wrong with them.

Her class was on 3rd floor, class no. 33. Her role number was 30. Was all of this just a coincidence?

The students on other floors seemed pretty fine to her, but there was something strange about the 3rd floor. Especially class no.33.

Students on other floors were joyful, completely opposite of the students in her class. Even the Students on the same floor but of different class seemed fine as they only appeared tired, unlike class 33 which appeared half dead.

It took Laura only a few days to figure out that there was something fishy about the school.

She asked the Principal to change her class but was refused and even scolded for being a busybody.

The kids in her class never spoke. She never once heard them say a word no matter how much she would try to talk to them.

The worst part was that even the teacher never talked. Every class had a different teacher for each subject, but her class had only one teacher for every subject.

Her class teacher would write on the board in order to explain topics to students but she won't talk. She never asked questions like other teachers either.

She never gave homework, but the students knew what to do. They would even submit their notebooks for checking after every class.

During attendance, the teacher didn't call out names she just marked the attendance by looking at faces of kids.

Unlike every class their attendance register had written SACRIFICE instead of ATTENDANCE REGISTER. Laura thought SACRIFICE meant that she had to give up something in order to gain something in life like her elders said.

SACRIFICE

But as the days went by, Laura couldn't shake off the eerie feeling that something more sinister was going on in class 33. The lack of communication among the students, the peculiar behavior of the teacher, and the unsettling atmosphere on the third floor made her curious to uncover the truth.

One day, during a particularly difficult math lesson, Laura couldn't hold back her curiosity any longer. She raised her hand and mustered up the courage to ask her teacher, "Why don't we speak in class? Why do we have to sacrifice something?"

The teacher's eyes narrowed, their gaze cold and unnerving. Without uttering a word, the teacher walked towards Laura and handed her a small piece of paper. It had a strange symbol drawn on it, one that she couldn't decipher.

Confused and anxious, Laura decided to confide in her classmates. She approached one of the students after class, hoping to find answers. "Why don't we ever speak? What is the sacrifice about?"

To her surprise, the student's expression changed from blankness to fear. They glanced around, as if hoping no one else would overhear their conversation, and whispered, "We can't speak because our voices are taken away. The sacrifice... it's not about gaining something. It's about losing something precious to you."

Laura's heart raced. Whatever was happening in class 33, it seemed that the students were afraid to speak out. Determined to uncover the truth, she delved deeper into the mystery.

Late at night, Laura sneaked into the abandoned third building, driven by a desperate need for answers. As she cautiously explored the dark hallways, she stumbled upon a hidden room deep within the bowels of the building. Inside, she found an old book covered in dust, its pages filled with cryptic symbols and ancient rituals.

Piecing the clues together, Laura deciphered that the school had once been a place of dark rituals and sacrifices. Class 33 seemed to be at the center of these malevolent practices. The students were chosen to undergo the sacrifice, losing their voices in exchange for some unknown power.

Fearing for her safety and the well-being of her classmates, Laura decided to seek help from outside the school. She found a local historian who had some knowledge about the sinister history of Dove School. Together, they vowed to put an end to the nefarious rituals and save the students from their plight.

As they delved further into their investigation, Laura and the historian discovered a hidden passage beneath the third building that led to an underground chamber. There, they found evidence of the sacrifices that had taken place, as well as a way to reverse the effects and restore the voices of the students.

With the help of the historian and a newfound courage, Laura rallied her classmates to rebel against the dark forces that had plagued them for so long. Together, they confronted the teacher of class 33 and performed the ritual to reclaim their stolen voices.

As the ritual reached its climax, the atmosphere in class 33 shifted dramatically. The silence that had enveloped the classroom for so long was broken by the sound of voices echoing through the walls. The students, finally able to speak, unleashed a powerful chant that banished the darkness from their lives.

From that day forward, Dove School transformed into a place of laughter, learning, and unity. The rumors of the abandoned third building faded into distant memories as the students and teachers rebuilt their lives, free from the horrors they had unknowingly been a part of.

Laura, forever changed by her experience, became a beacon of hope for her classmates. She learned that sometimes, uncovering the truth meant facing unimaginable darkness, but it also brought forth the strength to overcome it. And in the end, the sacrifice they had made was not in vain, for they had reclaimed their voices and their future.
